I called out rabbits, am starting our new day, and going to bed. I hope May will be good to all of us.

Mornin' ladies~~~
Beautiful sunrise in Kankakee IL today. Summer temps will be here for 2 days, then back to below average temps and rainy days. Ah, Spring in Illinois.

Did a self guided tour of the Old Joliet Prison yesterday. So cool! And a bit spooky even on a beautiful sunny day.

That's my itty bitty news. Have happy May everyone.

Wow Beth, here I was awake at 5:15 thinking I WOULD GET coffee on and you beat me. But then you are just about heading for bed when I’m waking up  Yep, here’s hoping for a great May.

Our weather felt more like fall than spring yesterday and this morning too. High was only in upper 40’s-low 50’s and the wind was gusting as high as 35, driving the wind chill down. Hang on to your hats, wind chimes, flower pots and whatever, those of you out East. Some places reported 45-50 mph gusts yesterday. 29 out there as I type this.

Started working on my flagpole landscape project finally. Am short two edging blocks, so trip to Home Depot coming up  Don’t know if I’ll get out there today or not as supposed to have some rain this morning. Packed up@ bags of mulch yesterday and they are in the garage. This old lady is still hauling heavy bags around yet. Sometimes I surprise myself. Did get one one side of my birds sprayed on Thursday though. Looking like kind of damp week coming up again. Had planned to uncover my trailer but might not happen. I like the cover to be dry when I take it off so I can store it.

No word on new countertops as yet and am waiting on a quote for new fencing in my yard. Managed to snag an appt. to get my drivers license renewed this coming Monday. Have to make appts. Online and right now now it’s really hard. We used to do walk-in, but when the pandemic hit, that changed. They were allowing people to drive with expired plates and licenses cause they like everybody else had to shut down, then when they reopened it was by appt. only. Now you can no longer drive with expired plates or licenses, so there’s a backlog of people getting that taken care of, plus those of us needing to renew in person now or have other business taken care of. We have to renew drivers license every 4 years but every other tine has to be in person. I think once they start catching up to everybody from the past few months, things will smooth out. I can renew my truck plat online, no problem there and my trailer is permanently plated so no renewal necessary. My license doesn’t expire till June, but advanced bookings are booked out past that point, so had to see if an opening might be available and was able to get in Monday. Just got the paperwork last week.

Barbie, I really like your table set up. Tina, sorry about Gus. Judy, sent you a PM.

So things are busy around here. Right now it’t time to get some breakfast, see what the weather is going to be and take it from there. Have a great day all.

Morning All, sunny this morning and wind is dying down. Lesson to self, start planting the middle of May next year. :D Will ride to the garden to see how plants survived the wind last night. No other plans, just a quiet day at home. Be safe

Rabbits. Jane and I are at another dog show this weekend. We drove over early since this is new fairgrounds for this county and new to holding shows. I did take the RoadTrek so that after I set up I as resting inside until Cindy gets here. Resting is my new hobby. The entry is small so guess their was no need to worry about space for set up but you never know from one site to another

Good morning Everybody from sunny CT. Shirl, I hear you when you said you should wait until mid May to plant, but the urge to get started overcomes reason. I am going to unwrap my fig tree today even though I know I will probably have to rewrap in a few days!!! Spring is not a reasonable time of year.
May is a beautiful month; new growth, new beginnings. When I was a girl we used to hang May baskets on the doors of our favorite people; ring the bell and run until we were caught and given a kiss. Kids don’t do that anymore. Celebrate any way you can and enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning all! I was still up at midnight last night so said rabbits! Hope it helps! The day is starting out to look like a nice sunny day today. At least the wind has died down so maybe I can get outside and clean up after the wild day yesterday. Temps really dropped last night, into the 30’s. Don’t think we got snow flurries but wind blew most of the night, I think. Springtime in PA! And everywhere else apparently! So nothing else happening here. Hope you all have a good day.

Good afternoon ladies! The first thing I did this morning was come here and saw the title "Rabbits". Beth, thanks for the reminder and that was the first word out of my mouth.

The Blessing for our casita is tomorrow after Mass and I've been spending lots of time in the kitchen preparing the feast for our congregation. I've gotten a lot done but have more to do. Hopefully pictures will follow either tomorrow or Monday.

Enjoy today and the rest of May!

Am enjoying this quiet campground in the middle of nowhere in northwestern New Mexico. Elevation is 7,500', which explains why I was out of breath walking to the dumpster yesterday. I was going to stay only four days here and then head to Phoenix, but it is going to be 100 there most of next week, so I cancelled my reservations there. I just can't take the heat, and it is barely in mid-70s here, so will stay another four days until next Saturday. Then heading due west along I-40 to Homolovi SP, which is also a lot cooler than Phoenix. Might have to extend my time there because I don't want to spend too much time in Kingman through to Laguna, CA. Laguna is OK for temps, but KIngman and Barstow will be HOT! Then after a few days, on to Napa to see kids before I head east along I-80.

Going to Laguna to meet with my co-POA and also try to spend some time going through stuff in storage room. There is a missing box with high school and elementary school stuff for my deceased uncle and my aunt. My parents raised my uncle from age 9 because my dad's parents died young. My dad was recently married to my mother at age 22 when he took over his youngest brother, so it is strange to see my mother's signature on his elementary report cards! At age 22, my dad had a pregnant wife and nine-year-old to support, plus he helped his eighteen-year-old sister financially for care of youngest two sisters!

I have lost another couple of pounds due to IBS. I stopped drinking regular milk about three weeks ago, thinking I was sensitive to lactose. Lactose-free milk is not bad, so have been drinking that. Felt great for a while, but last couple of days, IBS has come back, so I am going to be glad to see gastroenterologist in July. I have lost over 5 pounds since Christmas, which is nice, but not with the accompanying cramps and other symptoms. I am trying to eat slowly and spread out small meals, but I get hungry and it's hard not to overeat. Also have a prescription from regular doctor, and it helps, but not entirely.

I didn't remember to say rabbits, probably because I forgot April was over:) It is still hard to keep track of the days since so little going on. It is warm here but the wind has been rather consistent which is a bit unusual.
Irmi I hope you have everything ready and that tomorrows weather will cooperate for the Blessing of your casita!

Happy May Day! My best friend, who lived a few doors down, and I would make May baskets with flowers in them and do the ding dong door dash thing too. She always caught me and I could never catch her.

Went for my MRI this afternoon. Waited an hour to get called in but finally got it done. Man, those things make a lot of noise!! Hopefully, I will hear about the results this week.

It has been cloudy all day and hot. Supposed to get really windy later on again. No wind so far. I did see a huge dust devil along the freeway tho! Usually the ones I see are small, wide and not very high. This one looked like a rope funnel tornado! Never seen one that well defined and high! Looked like this...(since I was driving on the freeway, I wasn't able to get a photo of it)

Need to make a run to the mail box and then make something for supper.

I did remember "Rabbits" this morning!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I was up after midnight of course so got rabbits in... sure hope it takes
I got some on the list accomplished but not all I wanted to clean off the table and under it and move it (the table) so hopefully sil could put the shelf back up. my husband put a shelf behind the table so that I had a place for plants it fell during my trip down to Q really want it back do need to move stuff so that it can be worked on ..did laundry even folded and almost put away... as well as dishes... oh and a trip to town got some top soil as well as went to the store ...
It seems really lonely right now even though Shadow wasn't cuddling up pretty much wanted to be left alone... I could at least look over and see him or watch him move around...
think it's cooled off enough that I need to turn the buddy on ...
Will be spend most of next week over at my brother's to stay with my mom .... they have to make a trip down to SLC for stuff for the niece something to do with one of her implants...
any way you all have a good day

I forgot Rabbits again. I know better than to go to Lafayette on a Saturday but went anyway. The receiver I needed to return had to go to a UPS store and Lafayette was the closest. Got that delivered and went to Drug Emporium. That's a combination drug, health and semi grocery store. I only went to get the gumbo mix I like but managed to spend $70. They have junk food that other stores don't carry. Picked up a Patacon from a Latin restaurant I had eaten at with my Meetup group. That's a sandwich where they use fried plantains instead of bread. I didn't think it was as good as the first one I had. What ever sauce they use on it is the best.

I though about stopping at the nursery that is in town but I couldn't get in the parking lot there were so many cars. It looked like just about everyone in Lafayette much have been out. The economy must be doing ok because the store and restaurant parking lots were full.

Sheila, sorry about Shadow. I know you are lonesome. Our pets keep us busy.
