SUNDAY AT THE POND

Postby Nasoosie » Sun Jun 14, 2009 2:48 pm

Here are a few pics I took at the pond today----what a beautiful day down there! I went down to mow around the cabin at the far end, but ALAS! No gas!! (What luck! I had to not mow but relax!)

Image

The leanto today.

Looking through the screen of the leanto at the pond.

Image

My outhouse that I built with a translucent roof for light!

Image

Bunchberry blossoms. The flowers are not the white leaves that look like petals---the flowers are those tiny little things inside the white leaves in bunches. Each tiny little blossom will turn into a beautiful bright red berry in the fall. They are used for ground cover by nurseries.

Image

Pretty ladyslipper. There are quite a few down around the leanto.

Image

Pretty clouds at one end of pond. Thundershowers in that direction, but none here.

Image

Ominous-looking couds at other end of pond. They never materialized into storms, yet, anyway!

Image

Now WHO on earth could THAT be????

Hope your day has been even half as good as mine has been!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soos, what a beautiful place, just simply beautiful!

Are the red berries that will form edible? I've never heard of them.

One more "absolutely beautiful and peaceful setting." That's exactly the kind of spot one looks for when out camping. And there it is, right in your own backyard. Guess we all need to look a little closer. carold

What a great setting. Too bad about the mowing. Give you an excuse to go down there again.
