Monday April 19th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday April 19th

Mornin' ladies~~~

It's National Hanging Out Day, or Amaretto Day if you prefer.

Made it to Kankakee Illinois yesterday, so I'm hanging out.

Busy week for me. Visit with Dad today, vaccine #1 tomorrow, doctor Wednesday then chiropractor Thursday. I think I'll be put back on BP medicine. A bit of pandemic weight gain and almost no hiking this past year has taken its toll.

Snow expected tomorrow. ugh! 1-3". I'll take that over Midwest tornadoes anyday.

That's it from me.

Monday

Postby Shirlv » Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:38 am

Morning All, sun is trying to shine on this chilly morning. I hope predicted shower arrives this afternoon and waters the garden bed. I finally made the trip to see friend Edith who lives 1 1/2 hour away. A year ago it was an enjoyable ride, yesterday not so much. The visit was great. We decided the world has gone to hejj and we are the only ones left with any sense. ;) It’s nice to talk with with someone of the same generation who shares the same values. Guess that is why we have been friends for 79 years. No plans yet so will see how the day goes. Be safe

Good Morning, The sun is out, for now but it isn't that warm. Shirlv I understand about driving distances, I have a friend 2 hours away that I would love to visit but by the time I got there would be pooped!

I see a lot of you watch movies and I have never been into them except when I was a teenager going to the drive in and of course no one ever really saw the movie at a drive in at that age... any way I digress, I do like to read and have found an author some of you may also like, Jeanne M Dams. I am currently reading Shadows of Death, (Dorothy Martin Mystery ) that takes place in the Scottish Orkney Islands. I also liked to Perish in Penzance. These are cozies and so no violence. Currently free if you have Kindle unlimited if not. $2.99 for Shadows of Death.

Time to start my second breakfast of scrambled eggs and feed the little dogs. Emma has already had her breakfast and is off to school. She placed second in one of the obedience classes at the show in Paducah over the weekend. She didn't do as well in the others, she got a third and forth place ribbon but all scores were over 190 and she earned 2 more legs toward her second UDX. I need a lesson on what all this means, I do know that the trainer who shows her is very pleased with her. DH misses her so much when she is gone, me not so much! She is way too loud and boisterous I have to be very careful she doesn't knock me over!

Enjoy your day where ever you are!

Sunny day here. Someone (not at my house for a change) has been running a power saw since 08! Was hoping it was Sean.today I have Curves and later PT, which after usual morning chores, will keep me busy. Stormy is here on edge of bed telling me her chicken is late while Mandy already ate her fishy canned food. I read that early in week will contine warm in 80's but by end of week down into upper 60's, a nice break before heat up begins in May. Typically we don't hit 90's until second week of May, but yesterday was 91!
Had a lovely phone visit with my friend in Colorado yesterday. She sent her song recordings which were used at Mel's funeral. But she couldn't make it to funeral because her kidney transplant was failing. After a year or so on dialysis, she got a new kidney transplant and is feeling so much better. We had such a good talk. She mentioned Montrose Colorado in conversation, amd I said, wait, I know someone who lived there. She encouraged me to try to find my friend from our Navy days in Morocco, and this morning I got a lovely note back, catching me up on their lives and children, including the first one, which I helped deliver 48 years ago! Now to get where I can travel, so I can go catch up in person with all my friends and family.
That's about it for now. That constant saw is going to get old today!

Been working out in the yard again. Dug another hole in that cement like clay. Really hard work so decided I was a one hole a day gal. Then trimmed a couple of hydrangeas that were infringing on my front deck. Met another neighbor that lives a house away. Very nice gal. I already met her husband last week. I need to get my butt over to Home Depot and pick up a few things so I can tackle some of the smaller jobs around here. House is a tad in disarray as I am kind of spread out this morning so guess I need to get that job done also. It is much cooler today but warming up now and supposed to be much cooler the end of the week with the possibility of rain...........yay. We sure do need it.

Took some ribs out for dinner tomorrow. Will plop them in my crockpot in the morning (hoping I remember LOL) Bought a family pack of hamburger and chicken thighs so had to Food Saver them this morning. Doesnt take long just needed to get er done.

Afternoon everyone. Shirl sent me the following picture this morning. In her words "Balcony lettuce and spinach, delicious spinach salad and my borrowed raised bed garden."

I went and got a real haircut today. Back to short!

Why do I always have trouble with water regulators leaking? Cheap ones leak, expensive ones leak. And I need one here. Just ordered another which will be here Wednesday. Frustrating.

We had no rooms booked for 3 days. I offered to clean the outside of all the windows (that I can reach) tomorrow. They had a walk-in and got a delivery of replacement garbage cans for the rooms. So I'll get my 1/2 day in, then take the next two off.

Beth I know exactly what you mean about those dang regulators. I bought an expensive one also and it leaked way worse than the cheapo ones. I even put better washers in them didn't make any difference. Always carried 2 or 3 with me thinking that would fix them....sometimes LOL

Made my trip to Home Depot and got everything I think I needed. I want to spray foam under my kitchen sink as there is a space where the water hoses that is bugging me. Will probably do the same to the bathrooms. No plans to go anywhere tomorrow. Also bought some clear outdoor caulk. I have a few intruders (yellow jackets and wasps but just a few) trying to go up my struts holding up my awning so I want to nip that in the bud before they make a nest. I have wasp spray but I just want to seal the bottom a bit. I decided to get a burger on my way home as I was tired and didn't want to cook. It was fine, but not as good as it was in my mind LOL Ribs tomorrow might make some potato salad to go with them too.

Was a busy day today. We were short one stylist but my manager and I managed to keep up. She bought me lunch at Dickeys BBQ. So good!

My shoulder and elbow were hurting today. I was reading up on elbow pain and it sounds like I have what is referred to as "golf elbow". Too bad I can't blame it on playing golf! I have no idea what brought it on. I assume it is somehow related to my shoulder problem. Not sure what has triggered this latest pain surge.

Got to 97* today! Will be heading back down some with high winds again. Then next Monday will only be in the low 70's with a possibility of rain. Won't be holding my breath on that tho.

There was a lady out here yesterday who saw a dog get hit by a car so she ran over to help the dog and a drunk driver came by and ran her over and killed her. The driver took off but someone followed him and he got arrested and is now on $1 million dollar bail. So sad.

The trial in Mpls is coming to an end. The whole city is on alert and ready to shut down depending on the verdict. So glad I am not there.

I am afraid to watch the news lately with all the shootings happening almost daily. I need to focus on more positive things. Just gets too overwhelming. :(
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

wow did the wind come up.... so was way late getting moved into another site but did it ... you would think a cement pad would be level right ??? nope  over in the tent site I was level without having to run up on boards here it took two boards to get me level... :o oh well one does what they need to right???
so went to at least hook up the hose to dump the tanks because I wasn't able to completely close the black water had a extra closure on it which if you aren't careful will come off while trying to get the cap off... I now know that the kitchen sink grey water tank leaks as my son in law opened the extra closure and water all over guess I now know will see if I can find someone cheaper than the ones that took care of the black water tank at least it was just water smelly water but just water so hosed down the cement. will stay over till Weds for two reasons it's going to be really cold in Tetonia tomorrow night and my son in law is in training in Idaho Falls for three days... he thinks Weds will be a better day as he might get through a little earlier... and since the winds are still good on Weds think I will just hang out here another day... staying hooked up so no driving around my dd will come get me for supper tomorrow...
so looking for this salad dressing (had some at friends house.... a friend gave it to them as they couldn't take it with them) so far haven't found it so if you see it tell me what type of store so I can find it it's by Hellman Lemon Za'atar it was really good.
dd brought me some ice cream the place has some really good ice cream usually I am not one for caramel other than the candy find it really sweet so had my doubts it was a caramel pecan was so good.... heavy on the nuts I think whole and candied and low on the caramel... would get it again ect that I like to try different flavor's
went to a couple of stores looking for my books at the first walmart found everything but the books and when I got to the checkout realized the Ibuprofen I thought I got wasn't so didn't take it went to another walmart got the ibuprofen and found my books but boy whoever stocks them sure wasn't organized... but at least I got them...
that wind besides being a strong wind was a chilly one... chilled now ice cream didn't help at all... so later hot chocolate
you all have a good day
