Sunshiny Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshiny Sunday

Good morning. Chilly out there this morning although it is 39. Warms up when that sun comes out. Supposed to cloud over later on. Showery Westher coming back. May even some rain/mix down the line. Spring has really sprung here, a month ahead of normal. Is generating some worry in that sensitive vegetation might succumb to freezing temps yet. Stuff that’s blooming or blossoming shouldn’t be yet. Fortunately I don’t have anything to worry about. You gals out East, watch your forecasts as it appears there is a possibility of significant snowstorm hitting SE Michigan and then the Northeast this eeek. Even enjoying all the talk of getting gardens started too. And Anita’s toe of furniture shopping.

Was watching the latest developments on the shrimp boat that was caught in the storm in the Gulf off LA this week. Reminds me of the movie “The Perfect Storm”. Feeling sorry for the families of the crew. Search and rescue still ongoing. Thty have some live video from the boat and the conversations on board. You can here the fear in their voices as they tried to make Shore.

Had busy day yesterday. Ran vac, picked up house a bit, then finished up the project I was doing in my truck bed. Started and almost finished another small one. Fur kids and I took a walk walk and stopped to chat with some new folks who purchased a house across the lake here. They were working outside on landscaping. Then had to stop by another neighbors, so pups could get their doggie treats she gives them. They have that place pegged, Took another walk in the evening up the road so they could visit their doggie friends. Made some changes on camping reservations too.

So, need to run up to the store this morning, refrig looking a little empty. So should get a move on. Want to work outside for awhile today. Unloaded the mulch from my truck and should spread it. Be done with that project. Won’t take long. Want to edge sidewalks and blow some debris off etc. working in yard has always been my favorite thing. Have a nice dsy out there.

Thanks for the reminder, Sue. I remember watching "The Perfect Storm" - it was a pretty good movie, but for those of you looking for something to read, I highly recommend the book by the same name written by Sebastian Junger. It was fascinating, nail-biting and heart-rending. All at the same time.

The sun is finally shinning but still cool. Hopefully no rain today and that it warms up. Maybe I can go fish this afternoon.

The weather station is showing video of the shrimp boat in the storm but I haven't heard if they made it. They are still trying to find the missing men from the jack up rig that sunk in the storm. There are 9 men still missing. When I worked for the fish plant we could hear the radios from the boats and it was never good when we heard man overboard. While I was working there 2 fishermen died and one spotter plane crashed.

Sue, it's funny that our dogs have agendas and friends. Sugar always wants to go by the neighbor's house and tell their dog hello. They don't really play, just jump around a few times and she is happy. The neighbor's dog is afraid of the cats that follow us so sometimes he won't come out. He use to chase the cats until a couple of them decided they had enough and beat him up. They are friends with Sugar so don't think they would attack him if he didn't chase them.

I need to clean the bathroom and move things out of there so I can call a plumber. One of the toilets tanks is not holding water so I turned it off. I know how to work on the old style toilets but this one just about has to be taken apart to fix it.

I took a turkey thigh out of the freezer to cook for lunch so I'm having Thanksgiving dinner today. lol I should have taken two out because there are no leftovers in the refrigerator. Not to worry, there is plenty in the freezer that needs to be eaten. I want to get the food in the freezer down so I don't lose a bunch of food if we have hurricanes this year.

Might as well post. It will give me another excuse not to leave for the grocery store. My office has returned to normal dog room lounging area after accommodating an X-pen for Cindy's three 10 week old puppies that came down with her last week. They when with her to the shoe site every day but came back and spent the night back in the office across from Audrey's and Jane's crates every night. Lark was just glad she got to stay in my bedroom. She told Cindy they were I little scary. They were in fact rather cute. The stud dog's owner was show chair and was able to go over them in person. And she was also able to go over Jane and and two of her siblings as Cindy used the same sire for them. He produces very consistent traits.

Anyway, it does seem as if I survived the four days. I was fairly useless yesterday, however, and spent most of the day napping, resting and going to bed by nine.

The sad part was that there was a videographer at the show and on Friday I was able to pull up Jane's classes by age brackets and watch her...which also meant I had to watch myself. I had to watch what Cindy was to kind to tell me. How clearly out of breath and gasping for air I am as one can tell as the mask that was getting sucked in and out. How visually apparent my essential tremors were (they started up while I was so ill due to ..... side effects of medications?, general weakness?, illness? who knows?... How awkward my movements are in general and I thought I was clumsy before! The only positive check I granted myself was that I wore a good bra and nothing was bouncing around. If anyone has watch many dog shows for any length of time they will realize that some of the more well endowed women do not seem to own full length mirrors and do not watch themselves move on videos.

And I will admit that I knew that AKC was Live Streaming the National all week on their channel but I didn't really need any additional audience. Maybe some day when or if Jane gets to grow her belly coat and feathers back in. She lost them as many of the girls do after their first heat.

I did pick up my RoadTrek yesterday and paid over $1000. Seems that the reason the the battery wasn't recharging while hooked up to shore power was because the converter wasn't working. Lewis (the mechanic old enough to know how to work on old RTs) said that I was lucky not to have had a fire. He found burned up wires, etc. and a non functioning converter. Then again, they may have been burned up before I bought it last summer. I hope to take it to a show this coming weekend. Lewis is waiting for the parts to replace the ceiling fan. Its a RoadTrek, I am tall, so no worries about not reaching the on off buttons here. I am also interested in a back up camera.

I have a tela-conference with my Gastro Dr. on Tues. Not looking forward to it and the discussion regarding medications. I know that I often don't tell all on here but just know that I have one medication that I have been taking daily for my rebound head aches for almost 10 years. I went without it for 3+ months while dealing with my pancreatitis. As I slowly got better from that, my head aches returned. My NP does not want to refill my script and refuses to unless the gastro Dr writes her a letter. So, I may be scheduling an appointment with the Cleveland Clinic. That is where I had to go 15 years ago in order to get off the toxic levels of Tylenol I was self medicating with at the time. Pancreatitis is no fun but stress head aches that morph themselves into migraines send me into fetal positions also.

Tina, I'm sure having to wear a mask in the show ring doesn't help your breathing at all. I have problems with the mask just walking around Walmart. There have been times that I though I was going to pass out if they didn't hurry up. Louisiana is still under a mask mandate but it looks like the only ones wearing masks at Walmart are me and the people that work at Walmart.

Sorry your headaches are back. Mine are mostly diet related, the main problem being chocolate. I had two really bad migraines in November and decided to keep a diary. Haven't had one since. Guess I stayed off the Christmas and Easter candy.

Hope you get your Road Trek back and glad you didn't have a fire. Hope you can find a back up camera that is better than the one I have. I can't see anything during the day and I seldom drive at night. There is also a warning on it that covers up part of it. It is just about useless.

Another warm beautiful spring day in northern California ! I spent yesterday shredding stuff as I emptied Mel's desk and file cabinet drawers. He saved everything and never tossed or sorted. Thus I found 30 year old bank statements, 40 year old requests for vacation time, memos from his boss in 1997, etc etc. yet, among what I shredded (with his name & SSN or other sensitive stuff on them, i found amd saved, Navy and other papers including the letter which declared release from bank when our house was paid off. So had to actually look at each piece of paper. No idea why he kept 6 copies of surgery report from 1989! Anyhow, 2 packed full big trash bags of shreds and a bag and half of just trash. I got tired of sorting but did get 4 file drawers empty!
Today was local church conference so after that I've been goofing off. Watching stamping videos etc.
Have a good rest of your day.

I read The Perfect Storm. I don't believe I ever saw the movie. Good book. I'm always afraid the movie won't hold a candle to the book, so haven't seen lots of movies.

Tina, quit watching yourself! I'd hate to be filmed these days. Yikes. As for problems with the RT, while in Arizona all of a sudden when hooked up to water, it was filling my water tank. So I had to get service out. They drained the tank and fixed that issue. Because nights were cold and I had my hose wrapped I didn't fill the tank again until I was leaving. But that issue was resolved. Now I have a leak coming from below the water pump when I use it. I haven't found a service place near me, although there's a possibility I'll call. Since temps are rising, I hooked back up and therefore the problem isn't critical. I'm thinking something didn't get connected good enough with the repair, but dang I can't get into the area by myself (it requires holding the mattress to my bed up on my back, holding a flashlight, and working my fingers in the area when I don't know what's what to begin with.) I'm glad you have a good guy doing your work. As for headaches, I refuse to talk about how many Tylenol I take most days and have for years. Last winter my doctor decided unless I increased the amount (I haven't) he preferred the Tylenol to something stronger. I actually think I'm taking less since I started using Mullein liquid extract. It supposedly helps with sinus problems and those are a major reason for my headaches. Good luck with yours.

This afternoon Ty and I went to another workamper site to pick up their dog to walk. The husband is working constantly and the wife had hip surgery 2 weeks ago so Ty and I are going to have their dog join us on some walks. Luckily they didn't get tangled but a couple times.

Weather is slowly improving. Not up to what it was when I arrived, but getting there. Yay.

Velda, when I went full time I got rid of some papers I probably should have kept, but after 15 years full-time and not needing any of them I guess it worked out. I know I scanned some, but don't know where that would be now, either lol

It's nice sitting here with my door open but it's the sun allowing that and as it gets lower in the sky is going to cool down in here fast.

I joined in church via internet today then took a nap got over to my dd's and she was still taking a nap... she thought I would have come over earlier but was kinda glad I didn't so she got a nap in... had bbq pork sandwiches and then home...
tomorrow I am going to hook up the trailer and move into another site for the night... so I can dump the tanks where I've been hanging out for the week has been a tent site so no dump although they have a dump I can use it's right where I would be in the way ....so would rather move into another site and pay more but be out of the way ....
when I had the tanks pumped out the first time I was told by the guy that pumped it out that the grew water tank for the kitchen was leaking but I never see water anywhere you would think even with the under carriage that I'd see signs of water... but something that if I make it to Q will need to have it checked out ...
braver person than I am Tina to watch me run would not be a pleasant site and yes I would bounce all over the place
I think some times we are our own worse enemy's...
I am lucky I rarely get headaches...
my dd had acupuncture on her knee she was pleased with the results but think I mentioned it a few days ago... but hey that is what happens when we get "old" :o
need to finish up my row on my afghan if I was going to be here another week it would be done but that is the way it is...
you all have a good day
see you in the evening

It is late but I am having trouble falling asleep. My shoulder hurts tonight again. And my elbow is still hurting too.

This morning I got up early and picked up Cindy and we went to the Indio Food and Art Show. It was pretty small probably due to Covid. Only one food vendor and a couple dozen artist tents. It was at the Indio Polo Grounds so was a very beautiful location (ie, lots of money in that area! ). The weather was perfect! Cool with a light breeze. Lots of great art to look at, including 2 vendors with gourd art! Chatted for awhile with those artists. When we were leaving, we pulled over to watch a polo match for a bit. Then we stopped for lunch at a sports bar I have been to several times. Great burgers! Then home and a nap! Didn't get much done after that, just perusing on the internet for gourd art ideas, etc.

Cooling down tonight nicely so I have the windows open. No wind right now but still feels nice.

Back to work tomorrow...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
