Snow Comin Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snow Comin Wednesday

Morning. Yep, you read the title right. Snow/rain in the forecast for later this afternoon and into Tomorrow. Higher elevations may see some minor accumulations. No surprise here. We can see white stuff into esrly May. I’m sure O’ Sharon will be happy  NOT!

Had a good eye exam yesterday and nice talk with my doctor. He concurred with my Retina specialist in that everything is looking okay right now. How long things Stay that way, nobody knows. Asked him about maybe getting a second opinion and he said no. It won’t make an difference. Said not to worry and just go out and enjoy life. Do what I want and where I want. I’m satisfied. What will be will be. I’m through with doctors for now :D

Thinking of making a quick trip to town before crappy weather sets in or maybe not. Need some sealer for my wood projects and couple things from the store. Then will hunker down and let mom nature do her thing. Have a nice day all.

Morning Sue and All, Sunny at the moment but rain coming. Me and my bright ideas. Thought I would load up with raised bed soil, Black Kow and potting soil while I was at Lowe’s yesterday. The raised bed soil is going to my daughters and potting soil for here. I didn’t watch the loading so the potting soil is on the bottom of the pile. I try not to involve my family in my hair brain schemes but sometimes it happens. Daughter said she will help unload this evening even if it’s raining. Here is where I get into trouble. I am strong enough to unload by myself but history proves I will hurt something. I am going to her house this morning in the sun shine. I will cut the bag and carry bucket loads to the raised bed. This method will take much longer but I will not hurt myself and walking back and forth is good exercise, right? Besides, what else do I have to do. Lol Be safe

Good morning. Going to be a bit breezy here today but also with sunshine so should be a nice day. I too am working in my small garden. Had to spray weeds last week. then rake layer of mulch off the ancient black plastic underneath the dirt in order to use my small electric rototiller. That involved cutting it and pulling it then raking the dirt back. Still have to finish getting the corners of the black plastic out AND put the rototiller together LOL Then like Shirl I have to go get garden soil and potting soil. I have 4 plants I have to dig fairly big holes for out front but will just pace myself. I have 2 Lilac plants, an Azalea, and a Burning bush to get into the ground. Only going to plant a few tomato plants and a couple of zucchini plants in the garden area. Neighbor says we have deer here that will eat them but so far haven't seen any. I figure I bought 6 tomato plants and if they eat them then I will just go to the Farmers market LOL I only have $10 invested so far. And if the garden doesn't work out will just plant some grass ha ha I bought a great little Gorilla dump cart to haul my bags of soil, plants, etc in. Best part is that it dumps. Laura has one and when she was here saw them at Home Depot for under $100 so I snatched one up on her recommendation and I love it so far. Sure saves my back.

Have some housekeeping duties to do this morning but it is still chilly out anyway so will wait until it warms up outside before I venture out there. Might run to Home Depot or Lowe's and get my soil amendments and fertilizer this morning. Lowe's is right next door to me and Home Depot across the highway so not a long trip ha ha

Sue happy to hear your eye exam went well. I like his attitude of go, enjoy life LOL That is what I try to do each and every day. Some days I am busy and some days I have my butt planted in front of the tv ha ha No guilt here LOL

Sue, I also like what your eye doctor said. That works as a second opinion for me. Shirl, I believe you have a very workable solution. And walking is good for us! Karen, that cart sounds quite useful. Of course it would be a waste of money for me because I'd never be doing that work lol.

Temps are dropping here all week. Nights will be possibly going into the teens and the winds are already atrocious... Mid to upper 20 mph already before 9 am. I'm dreading walking Ty shortly. I like the hair style I've settled on during this past year while I've been cutting it myself but it's not long enough to tie back and is long enough to blow constantly in my face. I'm going to be making an appt and going back to short, short, short.

I have survived the English Cocker Nationals so far. Audrey has done the best. She placed 2nd in her Novice Obedience Class and 1st in her Rally Intermediate Class. She also got invited to replace an absent dog on a rally relay team. Her team of four dogs won. Jane place 2nd on her class of 7 12-18 month old bitches yesterday at the regional specialty and at today’s sweepstakes she placed 4/8 in the 12-15 month class. These are
From English Cockers from all over America. I would say Canada but I don’t think the Canadians could come across this year to compete. Jane is also competing with little or no belly coat having lost most of it to her first heat.

She shows once more tomorrow. My back has to make it through one more time.

Another day off. They're still having trouble with the water. It's possible it's fixed, but who knows. I'm sitting inside with Ty listening to and rocking with the wind. We did just go for another walk. And I made an appt to get my hair cut next week.

Tina, it sounds like both dogs did well. Good for them and you.

Sunny and around 68 here but it is windy, I thought March was the wind month! Tina, sounds as though you did well at the show. Did you train Audrey for the obedience class!? If so I know how much work that involves, not that I have done it myself in 50 years but I watch Emma work. I'm not sure what a rally relay team is.
Sounds as though several of you all are busy planting gardens and flowers. I'm lazy and go to the farmers market! Sue I'm glad you feel better about your eye since you talked with your doctor. Beth I hope it warms up a bit for you!
I'm making chicken soup for dinner and it smells good, it's an experiment so hope it is as good as it smells!

So wondering what the experiment with your chicken noodle soup was BJ and how did it taste?
a ultra lazy day .... and I don't even think I feel bad about it ... did do a sink full of dishes...
lazed in bed as it was cold and no truck so not going anywhere can play on phone as well in bed as on the couch right???
it was so windy last night that I was almost fearful... went to put a mug away and the space where it goes that shouldn't have anything in it had paper cups shifted into it guess from the shaking of the 5th wheel... was so glad when I woke up that I didn't feel any wind.... that was great
the camp's wifi is slow might have to turn mine on and get into some sites that I normally go on...
ended up not having hot chocolate last night when I finished all that I normally do it was 12;45 decided that I shouldn't have it that late kinda draw the line at 12;30 I could have it earlier but don't want to spill it on my afghan that I am working on

you all have a good day

I agree about your soup, BJ. My mouth started watering as soon as I read about it. I don't know why I haven't made any chicken soup in forever as it's always been a favorite. I hope yours was fantastic.

Yep, still terribly windy here! Last night I kept the windows closed because the wind was howling so loud. Tonight again I closed up the house because I couldn't hear the TV over the loud wind blowing. Had to run around the neighborhood looking for things missing from my yard! Air quality is poor here due to the dust blowing all over.

I worked with the boys today. They ignored each other and I just had a short shift so was able to leave at 1:30. Stopped at the WM shop and got my hair cut by my former manager. I cut the top and sides myself but need her to cut the back short for me. I don't like it on my neck.

Growing season is over here. Nothing grows in extreme heat. Having trouble keeping my hibiscus plants going now.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

My chicken soup turned out really good, much to my surprise! I could only find boneless chicken breast but I cooked them and shredded the meat. While the chicken was cooking I cooked celery, carrots, garlic, onion, added a bay leaf with lots of butter plus a box of Swansons Organic chicken broth. I added wide egg noodles broken up to the broth mixture then added in the chicken when the noodles were done and let it simmer for awhile. Next time I will cook the pasta in water, drain and then add to the broth mixture as the pasta sucked up a lot of the broth. It was pretty easy to make and the fact that I had local winter carrots really made a difference.

BJ, every time I make soup with noodles I swear the next time I'll make them separate. Then I get lazy and throw them in again. And again. And keep saying "next time"! I hope you do better than me.
