Cloudy Wednesday oops, it's Tuesday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cloudy Wednesday oops, it's Tuesday!

Postby Colliemom » Tue Apr 06, 2021 7:42 am

Morning on this cloudy northern Michigan morning. Some rain chances, but not holding my breath. Rain keeps getting pushed back every day and now they say Friday before we see a rainy day. It was Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday. When I wake up and it’s raining, then I’ll know it’s here  , we really need it. I ran tbe dethatcher over my yard and our sub entrance yesterday after getting a new battery for my lawn tractor, so now the rain can soak in and do it’s job.

Was a mixed bag day yesterday. Good news and not so good news. My eye appt. went well, but there will be no eye surgery at this time. The area where my displaced IOL is, is a very high risk area to have to do surgery in and carries a very high risk of losing my eye sight in that eye as well as other complications. Doctor says it’s not bothering anything in the eye itself, so is going to monitor it for now. Will see him again in three months. He suggested that I go see my regular Optometrist and have a prescription lens put in my glasses on that side. That will sharpen up my vision. There has been a big improvement in my sight, now that the lens is out of place as it was old and not doing it’s job. I’m actually reading eye charts than I have in 30 years. My right eye had cateract surgery too, but has a corrective lens in my glasses rather than an implant. So am going to see optometrist on the 13th. But it is something g I am going to have to face eventually and could change my way of life. Will cross that bridge when the time comes. Shelia, you sound like you are going to be maki g changes too, between bei g with your mom, age and all the other things us older folks have to start considering.

Tina, I already have a Surge protector ordered and did look at the Progressive EMS, but decided not to go that route. As is, I think my trailer hauling days are getting numbered. I’ve been toying around with how much longer I want to do it and now this eye situation is coming into play. I cancelled one trip last night due to my next retina doc appt. falling on a Day when I woypuld have been camping. No place to move the dates on that site or others and decided to let it go and leave that tine open to May e venture to a different area.

Got my second shot yesterday. Other than arm a little sore, no issues. Woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning.

But I did get some good news from Lowe’s last night, in that thry overcharged me on my countertop order. Difference between my estimated measurements and the actual measurements. I can deal with $450 refund :D

Morning Sue. Sorry to hear your worries concerning the future of your vision on top of your hearing loss that can not be an easy burden.

But don't hurry the days to fast. And rain or no rain today is only Tuesday. It did make me think and without caffeine that isn't always easy.

Today is the day that Audrey gets her total spa treatment. She may be showing in performance events next Tuesday but she needs to look marvelous. The grooming table is all hers for the day.

Morning All, another nice day and am glad since I need to declutter the Forrester. I no longer have a garage so carry a gallon of windshield fluid, a bag of tools, a bag with paper towels, winder, auto blanket. Folded grocery cart, insulated bag and I am sure some surprises. :D Appointment tomorrow for recall checkup and maybe they will wash it too. Need to get a wiggle on. Be safe

Good morning Sue and Tina and all who follow. Another lovely spring day here.
Sue, as we age, we instinctively know when a change is needed. We fight it, but eventually accept it. Pulling and backing up a trailer might not be doable, but there are other options for camping.

Two milestones this week...One. Going to dinner at a friend’s house on Thursday evening AND number TWO a long time friend is coming from Boston on Friday for the weekend. Life is returning to normal very slowly, but it is happening. The key is vaccinations. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning. A chilly start to today 32° but should warm up considerably to 68° soon as the sun is out. Pollen count is high so guess I need to start popping my allergy meds again. My allergies were way worse where I lived before the fires. Surrounded by trees Cottonwoods being the worst. No trees surrounding my house here but when the wind blows my allergies kick up but nothing like before.

Getting ready to head to Medford tomorrow for my eye doc appts and to finish cleaning out my storage unit. Will be staying with a friend down there as I am done with the hotel. We will pop over the pass to Hilt, CA to the cheap liquor store then on to Yreka CA to visit one of our friends that moved there after the fire. Lunch will be involved. Since being vaccinated I feel a little more at ease venturing out but will still keep my circle small. We have all been vaccinated so that is a plus.

Sue hope your eye problems remain stable. I am grateful that mine are stable right now. Just a pain to drive to Medford (100 miles away) once a month. BUT I get to shop in real stores and eat in real restaurants LOL We have restaurants here but they are mostly chain ones. Lots of diverse places to eat in Medford and Ashland and many small Mom and Pop ones.

The folks that bought my Motorhome love it. I am so happy for them. He is retiring the end of May and they leave for Tennessee June 1st. Bought a place back there, closer to some family and want to use the RV when they go exploring and visiting. Camping has become so difficult to find places with availability. I dont like to make reservations months in advance, heck I dont even know what I will be doing then so selling was a good option. I have plenty to keep me busy around my new to me home. And a car trip or two is not out of the question.

Well time to get my day started as I have had my quota of coffee, now shower time. Then need to break down my cardboard and take it to the dumpster, stop at the store, finish laundry then will be done for today.

I was wondering what happened to Tuesday! :? Sue is running around so much she is already a day ahead of the rest of us!

I eliminated one of my supplements last night but still have issues this morning. Will try another one tonight. I have my annual physical on Friday so if I haven't figured it out by then, will see what my Dr thinks.

I have been having hot flashes again so I think I will need another blood panel to see where my hormones are now. The pellet might be winding down and will need another one in a month or so.

Still hot and windy today. Will stay inside all day. Plenty in here to keep my busy.

My friend Candiss who I helped move to Oregon, fell down her outside steps and sprained both ankles and injured her knee. It took her til the next morning before she could crawl back inside and get to her phone for help. Poor thing! She is going to order one of the Life Alerts now. Great idea!

Martha, love your idea to put a shower cap over the smoke detector when you are cooking!
Sheila, good luck with your travels north.
Beth, let us know how the new job goes!
Tina, good luck at the dog show!

Have a good day (no matter what day it is! )!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I woke up with a headache and treated it with 3 cups of coffee. I don't know if I have allergies but my nose usually runs for a while every morning. I'm probably allergic to the cat that sleeps by my head every night. CC got left out all night and we had a peaceful night. He usually causes some kind of problem.

Sue, I know how concerning it is to learn you might lose the sight in one eye. I just hope I outlive my problem. My oldest first cousin had to have her daughter and son-in-law move in with her because she is losing her sight. I don't know anyone I want to live with.

Tina, I would like to give Sugar a spa treatment. If I knew somewhere to bring her I could probably only get her there once. I have to drag her to get her in the bathroom to give her a bath. When it gets really warm she might get a bath outside.

I would like to go get the truck inspected but there are scattered showers around. They won't do an inspection if it's raining. I don't know why, they don't drive the vehicle. The guy at the place I go for inspections had an aunt that knew my husband's family. We have the same conversation every time I go there. I'm trying to think of somewhere I want to pick up a lunch. I'm tire of pork roast already.

I don't have a campout scheduled until May 6. I would like to go to the lake but it's suppose to start raining tomorrow.

Barbie, sorry to hear about your friend's fall. I worry about that happening to me. Since I could be out at the barn or pond I don't know if there is an alert thing that would work. I really should carry my phone but it's too big for most of my pockets. My son gave me a small carrier that I could hang around my neck but do you think I ever remember that.

My dad had LifeStation. One time he was outside in the yard and accidently hit the button without knowing it. All of a sudden a police car pulled into his driveway! Not sure how far tho, the signal goes to the monitor in the house.

His system was really good and very affordable. The monitor was in the kitchen and you could have a conversation with them all the way from the bedroom without shouting. He had the wrist band but eventually took it off and kept forgetting to put it on again. Not too useful that way.

Martha, my head needs a while to clear every morning. The good mornings a head ache isn't included.

Ty and I have been bums this morning. It's cold today so we slept in. Then we walked around and discovered:
Image
Yep, the shade is keeping the snow in front of those motel rooms from melting. Today's cold probably won't help. Temps will start back up a bit tomorrow, with less wind, too.

Ty also met and likes the couple who are my supervisors. He probably won't leave them alone now, lol. He also saw two of the several cats who hang around the property. One isn't feral and has been named Charley. She was named before they found out she's female. She's one who ran when we encountered her today. The other was one of the feral cats. I'll have to be keeping my eyes open as Ty about knocked me over when he saw each of them. About the same as he does with rabbits. Maybe after a few more sightings he'll ignore them like he usually did the stray cats in SD.

Tomorrow I'll work some and Ty will be the watch dog.

my friends let me know that they would be out here about 4:30 around 4 I heard a car went out and it was another friend guess him and his wife came out earlier didn't find me at home guessed I was doing laundry which I was I told him that someone was coming out to help me get stuff done he decided his was going to help but misheard the time.... anyway we had a lot done before the other's got here... I am totally amazed at this man I am sure that you won't remember my mentioning it but oh guess it's been 3 maybe 4 years ago he fell from the sky broke his back lots of other injuries we totally were amazed that he lived and that he was mobile... this fall (in fact they didn't make it down till about 3 weeks ago) he had knee replacement here he was up in the back of my truck kneeling lifting propane tanks they were empty ones but non the less... I was just amazed at all he was able to do...and very grateful for the help that they all gave...
tomorrow when I get up will finish up and as soon as the liquids in the truck are checked we forgot to do it today so he is coming out again....
I didn't put the satellite on the generator usually there is a strap that holds it on but wonder if it should be there to help with the generator as well will try and remember to ask him ... he wasn't impressed with the straps I got for other purposes...
I still have some last minute stuff pick up the pee pads  that is a new one but needed... I moved some books so more breeze could come through the window will need to put them back hopefully what I got will help hold them in place if not will have lots of stuff on floor and will think of something else to fix the problem like not have books on the desk...
Tina I wish you were here to give Shadow a grooming he needs it but being a senior dog he isn't as good as he used to be....
I am tired and my mind isn't functioning ... so I won't remember what all everyone is doing
Sue hopefully your eye will remain stable
Beth enjoy that area... I still need to look it up and see where it is...
not looking forward to driving but it is what it is....
you all take care

he flew a para-glider the one with a engine not sure of it's name but he went up one day around some mountains in SE Idaho and I don't know what happened but he fell from the sky it took 8 hours to rescue him and he survived so amazing... as I said I am in total awe of what he can do ... he used to be my go to guy to put up my solar panels don't do that any more...
although if he still flew I'd have him see if he could find where those lights come from
