O’Dark Thirty Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

O’Dark Thirty Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 05, 2021 5:59 am

Morning all. Yep, it’s o’dark thirty right now, actually 6:19. Been up since a bit before 5. Wide awake and couldn’t go back to sleep  Can’t afford to fall back asleep and oversleep as I have a busy morning with an early start ahead. Need to be out of here by 8:20 as have my appt. with my retina doc this morning in regards to getting that loose implant out of my eye. Since cousin is going (she’s patient advocate), I plan to meet her at our lical Meijer store in town, leave my truck there and then we will go together to doc’s office across town. Afterwards she will drop me back at Meijer as today is 2nd vaccine shot day. Need to do a little grocery shopping while I’m there and gas up my truck as well. Also need to stop at credit union and a couple of other places.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. It was a beautiful day here yesterday. I got a lot accomplished this weekend. Trimmed dead branches from my trees in my wood lot, put my snowblowers and snow stuff away. Got my lawn tractor battery out of the basement and installed only to find out it’s dead :o  Will not take a charge, so a new one is on agenda for today as well. Took the tarp I cover my trailers propane tanks, hitch, Jack and all the during the winter off, took dogs on a couple of nice walks, one was over to the state park yesterday. Started a little revamp project on some storage bins I had made for along the wheel Wells in my truck couple years ago. Those who have driven pickups know there’s wasted space along the sides. Ned a couple pieces of lumber. That’s on today’s agenda too.

Shirl, I hear ya on the smoke detectors. I have one in my living room that will go off, if I have anything that smokes in my kitchen. Drives me nuts. Being it’s battery operated and not hard wired, sometimes I just take it down for awhile. Those in your apt. Are probably hard wired in accordance with Fire codes.

Beth, I’m thinking my RV future too. How much longer do I want to pull a trailer around etc. The campgrounds are getting harder to get into here in MI and I don’t always want to make reservations 6 months in advance in order to get a site. Not that one has to, but it’s Less hassle than playing seek and ye shall find. They are also getting more crowded as are a lot of the favorite places to sightsee and even places where I never saw too many people till last year. . I don’t think I can afford to keep two vehicles, one foe camping/traveling and one for everyday use here. I would like to travel out of state some more but I really don’t think I want to pull a trailer all over the place anymore.

Tine to go throw the laundry in the dryer, relax a bit more, then start getting cleaned up and ready to roll. Have a great day out there and stay safe.

Morning Sue, you have a busy day ahead. I was up early too but busy straightening in case maintenance came early. Made an appointment for check up on a Subaru ac condenser recall. One of my least favorite things, sitting in services for a couple of hours. Plus the agony of traveling in bay bridge traffic. Also a yearly check up on my outdated parts. New doctor to train. A shame to spoil a nice weather week. Now that I have had my Monday morning whine will see if I can find something productive to do. :D Be safe

Good morning, it looks as though it will be another beautiful warm day here. I have several packages to mail/return so will at least be out of the house for awhile running errands. Sue I hope your appointments go well and remember to be sure to get the record card for your shots!
Shirlv I hope the traffic isn't bad today and you like your new doctor. I hope they look over 12 and have some idea of the importance of communicating face to face!

I've been doing a little retail therapy online this morning and clothing costs have really increased, but then I remember shopping the sales at Target and TJ MAX back in my other life before Covid. The Macy store and the Penneys store closed here so TJ Max is always way overcrowded for my comfort and the Walmart store here is creepy!

I'm getting ready to head on my last leg to my new job. Lying in bed as I'm not ready to get going yet lol Hopefully I'll have more interesting things to post after I arrive. But more importantly I hope it'll be fun things, not frustration like my last job!

I'm up early today as I have a 9:15 Dr recheck as to why these RXs are causing PVCs each evening. When I headed to bathroom to get ready, I heard raindrops on my skylights, much to my surprise ( less thatn 5% chance per last nights weather). Nice to hear as we need every drop. Not much else planned for today except Curves, if Dr doesn't send me anywhere. Your walks in the woods sound so nice Sue. Bet the dogs enjoy that as much as you do.
When I got my first vaccine for CoVid, they gave me the card with date and lot number on one side and my appointment for second on back, then had me show it for second when that happened and marked the second after they gave it. Supposedly it's supposed to be as easy as contacting whoever gave the shots to gt a duplicate, but mine is safely in my wallet with a copy on my phone.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning, had a quiet day yesterday. Daughter and I got dinner from The Corner Chicken. New place a block from us. Very good. Then I watched a very exciting basketball game. The team I was rooting for won by one point!!!
Catherine, have a nice time with your Texas daughter.
Beth, looking forward to hearing about your new job.
Cheryl, always happy to hear what is going on with you. Did you get bad gas? Is that what happened to your truck?

Squeaky wheel gets the oil. Maintenance just replaced all detectors and inserted 10 year batteries. :D

Anita, a thought, I have a door to the balcony but no screen door. Amazon had a temporary screen door that hangs from a tension rod. Works well, keeps the birds from flying in the living room. Lol

Sue, if you haven't purchase surge protector yet, I highly recommend Progressive Industries Electrical Management system with lifetime warranty.
Judy, you may want to check Verizon more often than 2 years - I updated to a plan almost identical to yours 5 months ago.
Catherine, enjoy the visit!
Beth, hope you are almost or safely at your new home!
Shirl, good point about the screen for the door! Thanks.
Lyn, good to see you here.
Tina, hope you are better each day.
Sheila, hope your plan to head home is good to go this week.
Karen, that half table is a wonderful find.

Got my 2nd shot last week and was so tired! Moved 10 miles to my, hopefully, last campsite ever. Went to Monica and Alan's for Easter dinner. Alan outdid himself with the dinner and we gals didn't life a finger.

In BIG news, my Air Force grandson proposed and they are getting married May 7. Monica and Alan are getting married June 12! Each will be small - one in the courthouse and one near the river. Kyle will be deployed to the Middle East again on July 1.

Brought the pressure washer home yesterday so work to do!

Yes Lyn. The gas station got a delivery in the morning and I filled up in the afternoon. The delivery guy put gasoline in the diesel storage tank. I was without my truck for almost a month because there were so many trucks ahead of mine to get fixed.

Anita, congrats in the happy occasions in your family.

Congrats on the upcoming family weddings, Anita.

After two days with no winds, they start picking up again today, but mainly tail winds which stor aren't bad. And they really picked up with my arrival to my new campsite. I've met 3 workamping couples, one couple are my supervisors. Everyone seems super nice. I'll start working Wednesday... Probably only a couple/few hours to get the lay of the land, etc. And there aren't many reservations from open of the season to the end of this month, so probably nor many hours. I'm ok with that.

I'm in the site they had emailed me would be mine, but due to errors with reservations, I'll move to another in the next week or so for the season. The new site will be a brand new site, still being completed. It's on an end with more room outside my door which includes a little grass. Not much grass here, so that's nice. Ty is sleeping like he hasn't in weeks lol. He's a good traveler but while he might appear to sleep some when we're on the road... He's faking it lol Then before I even hooked up the manager couple came so we could figure out what to do about the site fiasco. So I abandoned Ty while we went and talked.

Good deal, Shirl! Hopefully the new ones and long lasting batteries does the trick.

Anita, congratulations! You will have a lot of wonderful celebrations to attend this spring! I went for another acupuncture treatment this AM and then took LArk and AUdrey to Dayton Dog Training Club to meet one of Lark's Breeder's that is helping us prepare for the ring. There is only so much I can do in the aisles of Rural King practicing on my own. Carl was particularly impressed with Audrey's focus. He has taught enough classes to know that English Cockers can be stinkers. I figured out that Lark thought that Carl should be her reward for doing a good job, She kept looking at him and wanting so much to play.... I figured out that what the acupuncturist had tried different in the morning had worked better because I was still walking after our practice session was complete. It gives me more hope. I was pretty lame over the weekend at the dog show but Jane did go WInner's Bitch and Best of Winners for one more point. Not many English Cocker showed up so she shared the weekend wins. The English Cocker Nationals start next week and run Tuesday through Friday, I think the entry is over 350 dogs. Roberts Arena is just 20 minutes up the interstate from us and is where the show was held this past weekend. Audrey is entered in Rally and Obedience and Jane will just have to settle on looking pretty for now.

Still having bathroom issues first thing each morning. I am now thinking it must be one of my supplements I take before bed. I haven't changed any or added any for awhile so not sure why the sudden reaction. I will try a process of elimination each night to figure out which one is the culprit.

It got super windy last night and has stayed that way all day today. Lots of dust in the air. Can't see the mountains behind me at all. Still in the 90's and will be all week.

Another busy day at work. Just us girls today. One stylist was having trouble working around a guys mask so she had him remove it. She ended up working on his hair for almost 45 minutes without it on. One of my customers started to remove his mask and I asked him to keep it on. He looked over at the other guy but didn't say anything. Afterward, I reminded the stylist that customers all need to keep their masks on or at least hold it against their face. She was like, "OK, you're right. I'm sorry". Now that is how a mature person responds to a gentle request/reminder. Why can't the guys be like that?

I have tomorrow off and no more golf on Tuesdays, so will work on stuff inside.

Hope you love your new job Beth!
Lyn, always nice to hear from you! I want to get to SD this summer and we can visit then.

Have a good evening!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I am watching a show about Kate Chopin on PBS. My freshman dorm was Kate Chopin. I didn't know it was named after a writer until a few years ago.

Tina, glad you feel good enough to go to dog shows.

Oh, Oh Shirl, now if the smoke detector goes off they will know it's your cooking. lol In my camper I put a shower cap over the smoke detector because the toaster will set it off every time.

Beth, glad you made it to your job. Hope this one works out.

I didn't think about making a copy of my vaccine card. It's in my purse but things in my purse get pretty tattered.

BJ, I feel like TJ MAXX was in my other life too. The last time I could have gone it was too crowded and I wouldn't stop.

I decided to go mow since there is a chance of rain tomorrow afternoon.

I just checked the weather before coming here and it's still a go... friends will come out tomorrow afternoon/evening to help and then Weds when I get up I will do the things I'd planned on doing tomorrow night... I want to just go to Needles which isn't far but I'm old and the longer stretch to Mesquite just sounds too far have done it but don't wanna :?
it was hot today but not as hot and it's windy but not bad will be later but Weds will not be windy it will be worse in St George on Friday but then it gets worse the following week I really think this is the best time to go...hopefully
went to Walmart with a friend today really seemed strange to be in a car with someone else... been months since that has happened...I was outside waiting when I saw this gal come out with 4 gals of water nothing else I tell you Walmart wouldn't have been my choice for that just cause they can be so busy... oh well I went for a few got what I went for other than the books that are suppose to be out on the 1st now I will have to check other places... probably when I get up to Ogden not my favorite pass time to put the 5th wheel through parking lots... you all know I am a woos right????
other than feeding the birds and going to wally world didn't do much
will make up for it tomorrow need to do a couple batches of laundry run some errands and be here when friends get here so the outside stuff that goes into the truck and front bay and hitched up can be done... and it will be hot it wears one out to be out in the sun hopefully by then it will be cooler...
