First Saturday of April

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Saturday of April

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 03, 2021 8:00 am

Morning all. Cloudy out, but sun is expected along with warmer temps. Interesting thing about today is it’s numerical date, 4-3-21. Thought to be anything from the end of time, a new beginning in time, a special wedding date, a good luck number etc. Makes for some interesting research reading.

Looks like we are all on a vitamin/supplement regime on here. Various dosages and needs. Inflammation in our bodies is one of the biggest culprits behind a lot of issues. We all have it. I’ve also found out that buying various supplements off the shelf from places like Walmart etc. is not always the best way to go. If you look at the ingredients, you will find a lot of unnecessary stuff in them. Getting them through a health food store can be a better alternative if one is available. In talking with my chiropractor, They are also holistic and natuerpathic doctors sometimes as well, about my high cholesterol, she suggested I take a supplement to help lower inflammation in my body. So I am now on SPM Active. SPM’s are Specialized Pro-resolving Mediators. I’ll let you do your own research on this and nflammation in the body if you are interested. She said it would be good for my eyes too. So that’s my supplement discussion for the day.

Nothing planned here for Easter. Just myself and the fur kids. Think we might go to one of the state parks for a walk perhaps. Have some ham here for dinner if I want it. I just had some diced up in my scrambled eggs along with shredded cheese this morning. Or I might go get a BBQ rib dinner take out for tomorrow.

Think today is going to be a little outside work. Putting my snow stuff away and my truck needs a good cleaning inside. Sounds real exciting I know, Maybe I’ll take my reciprocating saw and walk through my woods and trim off more dead branches. You can spend the Day speculating on what I get into  Right now, it’s to check FB groups and then get busy. Have a great day.

Morning Sue, a walk in the woods sounds like winner. After today temps go up in the 60’s so that will be my walking weather or balcony sitting. Will hang the wind chime and move the containers with greens back near the railing. No special plans for today just same old. Be safe.

Not much news here today. I have to do laundry as I am heading to Medford for the eye doc appts on Wednesday. Will drag out the vacuum here shortly. I vacuum about every 2-3 weeks as I run my robot vacuum a few times a week but need a deep down clean every once in a while. And then there is dusting to be done. Kitchen is clean so not much there. Might throw some ribs in the crockpot for dinner..... or not LOL

Yesterday I planted some flowers in my garden pots and so far they are doing well on my back deck. I need some more dirt so I can plant my geraniums, so Home Depot here I come in a while. Still too chilly outside and I have inside chores to do so will be later on.

Income tax is pretty much done so they will send it to me this coming week. Always good to get that done.

Safe travels Beth and enjoy your new job.

I left about 45 minutes later than I intended to this morning. And spent extra time on our first stop for gas and to stretch. I think both were good things as there were "multiple crashes" according to my gps and that delayed me 20 minutes to half and hour. And by the time I passed each site the vehicles were off the road. It appears there were crashes on both sides of the interstate in the same area. Traffic was not bad today except around the crash sites, but drivers were. I drove through shattered glass 3 separate times! I saw one truck and 5th wheel on a vehicle for transport and one car that was obliterated. In the median I saw a pretty banged up pick up. I have no clue how much I didn't see. Anyway, if I had gotten to that area sooner, my wait time would have been way longer. So sometimes being late isn't a bad thing. (I did an internet search. It was a 3 or 4 vehicle collision involving fatality (ies) and the interstate going my direction was totally closed for over 4 hours. The door would have added over an hour. I'm sure glad I left when I did.)

On another note, after seeing the high temps predicted for today in the area I was planning to boondock, I called a campground yesterday and made a reservation. I learned sites cost $5 more as a drive in. First I've seen that. And I was really surprised I got a site with all the stories of everything being full. I did have to unhook, but that was no biggie. And another first, the man directing me to my site had my car unhooked from my rig in no time. I stopped him long enough to get the car in park, and away he went. It's a smaller, older cg and perfect for me for the night. I got my AC going right away and bought a small ice cream treat in there store/office when I checked in.

Today I got through Tucson and Phoenix (go figure, the accidents were all in low population areas). And those are the biggest areas I'll be going through. So my Easter drive should be a breeze. Knocking on wood... There really were crazy drivers on the road today. I'll probably boondock or Wally dock tomorrow as all the cg's in the area I want to stop are out of the way and more than I'm willing to spend.

Beth, glad you missed the crashes. I have never heard of a campground charging more for a drive in. It looks like if they have a site they would be glad to see you.

Didn't do much today. Went to Walmart and the post office. My son still hasn't let me know if he is coming tomorrow or not. He may get a sandwich for lunch if he just shows up. I might not feel like cooking.

It wasn't suppose to rain but there were scattered showers around. They managed to miss me.

Are the basketball games ever going to be over? One station is showing a movie and the other has basketball instead of the news. I would get sick of the basketball playoff talk when I was working.

It was hot today!!!! very hot... :o finally inside it's down to 83 not sure what it is outside came home from a meeting and took a nap then we went outside as it was cooler out than in still is but that is the way it is...
never heard of them charging more either that is really weird... Beth be aware that a lot of Walmart's aren't open to boondocking anymore... possibly due to the pandemic or people being jerks so ruined it for lots of people...
Peggy it's been awhile since Joan has been on but she has been a member for a long time...
you all have a great day

Worked all day in spite of my arm still being sore. It wasn't as bad as last night tho. Was busy again probably due to Easter weekend and spring break. Also been 2 months since we reopened so people are ready for another haircut. The snowbirds will be heading out this month and then it will be pretty quiet after that. It was me, my new manager and the two "boys" working today. They were both on their best (and quietest) behavior. Was nice!

Hit 100* here today. :o Tomorrow will be the same. Average this time of year is low 80's. Hope that isn't a hint of a super hot summer.

Tomorrow I will heat up my little ham and make scalloped potatoes (box style). Have some pie for dessert.

My hibiscus plants have leaves turning yellow. Not sure if I am giving them too much water or not enough. I watered them yesterday. It is really windy tonight so will water them in the morning since the wind really dries them out. Hope I can keep them going for awhile.

Off to bed...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
