April Fools Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

April Fools Day

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 01, 2021 4:57 am

Good Morning. I am wide awake, way too early this morning. So thought I woul start the Coffee for those who want some early morning brew. I’m open for breakfast suggestions though. Oatmeal sounds good, but I forgot to get some at the store

It’s dark and cold outside, good time to stay snuggled in bed for awhile. Winter came back for a few days, light dusting of snow on the ground, but will be gone before long. Gem of a weekend coming up though.

Tina, I hear ya on the Surge Protectors. My last one wasn’t cheap either, but better than no protection. It saved me a few times over the past few years. The new ones are even more advanced and the Surge Guard I am thinking of getting has an available monitor I can keep in my trailer and keep an eye on the read outs. An EMS would be better yet, but my concern is it killing the power to my trailer on a low voltage situation, when I might have to leave the dogs in the trailer on a hot day with the A/C going. We’ve all been in those situations where we have left our fur kids.. I think for the type of camping I do anymore, the Surge protector would be fine. I too would like to get a camera mounted on the back of my trailer.

Judy, glad you were able to get your second shot. I get mine next week Monday. Lyn, good to hear from you. Tina, it’s good to see you. Posting more as well. Shelia, sounds like it’s getting time to hit the road once you are able to. Karen, I love that table too. Barbie, hope you get to feeling better. Martha, my vet uses Pupperoni as dog treats in her office. They are one of the safer dog treats. A lot of store bought ones are made in China. My pups get Pupperoni and Milk Bones. Shirl,I’ll be you are enjoying g that lettuce.

Guess this is going to be a puttery day. Need to run the vac and will work on my wood birds painting. Am doing three at a time, so the paint can dry on one while I do another. Paint dries in about 10 minutes. I’ll be working outside this weekend since it’s going to be nice. Like Karen, I do so much and then quit. The pups want their walk by early afternoon.

So have a nice day everyone, as we start this 4th month of 2021.

Mornin' Sue & all that follow~~~
Just a quick check in for Rabbits Rollcall. Heading to Hot Springs Arkansas today. Clear and sunny this morning so it should be an easy drive (fingers crossed).

I'm a bit paranoid about the truck, only because I filled up again yesterday and don't want bad diesel problems in the middle of nowhere. Wish I were a chemist. I'd invent a tester for checking if it's really diesel. Kind of like a paper stick for at home glucose tests that could be checked in the pump nozzle. Hopefully, I'll get over the paranoia cuz I sure can't payoff another new truck.

See that's its snowed up east. Sorry about that, but sure glad it's not in Illinois. I remember an Easter blizzard growing up.

Have a great day and good month.

Morning All, I think Mother Nature is playing a joke on me. Lettuce and spinach are cold weather plants so hope they like 34°. Will cover them with a sheet for the next couple of nights. It rained and the wind blew last night. Beatrice’s wings were really spinning and I think I heard her say some bad words. Lots of vaccination going on. Anne have you gotten your second shot? My brother got his second one yesterday. He lives in the boonies and when it rains he has no phone (old Verizon telephone lines). His location has no cell reception either. Think I will take a ride and see how he is doing. My only plan for the day. Be safe.

Good Morning, It is 38 and feels like 28 here, supposed to get down to 25 tonight which is sad as everything is in bloom. Maybe it is Mother Natures April Fools joke.
CHeryl I don't blame you for being nervous! I really hope it is fixed and you don't get any more bad gas! Maybe you could ask when diesel was delivered last at the stations.
Like Sue said, it is hard to believe we are into the fourth month of the year!! Shirlv good idea to check on your brother, some of the reactions are bad for awhile.
Since I went out for coffee with a friend Tuesday I have felt like I have been released from some sort of prison! We got our coffee to go but being together and talking face to face was amazing.
I hope everyone has a good month and no extreme weather!!

Good April 1 all. I think I remembered to say rabbits this morning! Can’t be responsible for my mind when I first get up! We have had a few snowflakes so far this morning but not much else besides cold! I noticed yesterday my daffodils out front are blooming but they’re pretty hardy so think they’ll be okay. I was so enjoying the warmer temps we had a few days ago and wasn’t looking forward to this cold snap. But on the upside the weekend is looking to be in the 60’s with some sun so that’s something to look forward to! Sure don’t want to trudge out to the garage for a snow shovel! Looking forward to hear about some of the travels for some of you! Right now that’s about all I can do! First trip for me not until June. At least planned trip! Maybe I can manage a quick getaway in May. Gotta get outside work done around the house before I think about running away from home! I’m so glad I ordered the portable steps for Rascal. They are working well on the RV and he’s so excited to go up and down them. I figured I’d have to coax him but he didn’t need any coaxing! What we do for our fur babies! Not much else happening for me right now but for sure today is an inside day so I suppose I should accomplish something! I hope everyone has a great day and stay safe.

Sue, I try to not buy anything for the dog or cats that is made in China but they are sneaky with the labeling. Sugar does like Pupperoni. My vet offered her a treat that she took and dropped on the floor. It was probably something made by Science Diet since that's what he sells. I just wish I could find something she would chew on and not destroy in 5 minutes. She found a rolled up rawhide treat at our last campsite. I took it and washed it and let her have it. I didn't think it would hurt to let her chew on it. It was about 6 inches long and the next time I saw it, it was about 2 inches long. I took it and threw it away. She is a hard chewer.

Cheryl, I hope you aren't having the wind I am having here. It just blew a bucket across the porch. I'm paranoid too on the road except with me it's tires. Every bump in the road is a tire problem. Your problem might be a good reason to pass up a gas station that has a truck filling up the tanks.

I must be rough on watches. I noticed yesterday that my band is breaking. I looked up watch bands online but it's hard to figure out what size to order since they are measured in mm and I use inches. I wonder if jewelry stores carry watch bands? There is only one jewelry store left in Abbeville and it's not much. They don't have a big selection of anything.

I saw my first Hummingbird at the feeder yesterday. He is getting a wild ride today.

I am back to waking up at 3:00 and not going back to sleep until 5 or 6. I finally went back to sleep this morning and slept until 9:00. It's not often I get to sleep that late. I took some chicken out of the freezer to make gumbo. I need to get dressed and start that. It will keep me busy for a while.

Good morning, Shirl. Thanks for asking about my second shot. When I scheduled my first vaccination for March 6 (using a different online form than the one that bothered me earlier) I was automatically given an appointment for my second vaccine. . . for April 1.

Now, I am not a superstitious person (LOL - much!) but this seemed to me to be an. . . "inauspicious date" 8-) So I re-scheduled for tomorrow, April 2.

As others on here have mentioned, it has been a big relief to receive even the first shot (I am reading on the news that even the first shot gives one 80% immunity) and when I get the second, I have a lot of "exciting adventures" planned (with appointments scheduled), such as:

1. Visit to the dentist
2. Visit to the optometrist (I needed new glassed in February of last year, could see the pandemic coming - so cancelled the appointment. This morning the lens fell out of my glasses. Thank goodness for bubble gum and scotch tape
3. Visit to the mechanic to have my van serviced
4. Visit to the local Jayco dealer to have my trailer serviced
5. A volcano trip!!
6. Visit to my kids! Hooray!! :D :D :D (once they have received the vaccine, which will still be a while)

And etc.! An exciting life, for sure!! 8-)

Let the good times roll.

Good morning. Sounds like most of us that want it are getting vaccinated. Got shot #2 on the 26th so they say in 14 days should have full immunity. (well as full as one can be LOL). It is funny tho as my bubble just wont change much. But will give me more peace of mind.

Another nice day today but dang chilly mornings. I need to spray the rest of my weeds today if the wind isnt blowing much. I need to wait until it warms up tho so thinking closer to noon. Making a Costco run today to get my rotisserie chicken. Will have that for dinner then pick the meat off for salads and enchiladas.

Need to head south on Wednesday time for the eye doc appts again. Will be staying with my friend as I am all checked out of the hotel. Staying 5 days so we will get some retail therapy in and make a trip to California (25miles) to the All Star Liquor store. Need some Baileys. Then go a bit further to Yreka to visit one of our old neighbors who moved there after the fire. Lunch at the Casino there and who knows what other trouble we can get into. Will be fun.

I sure didnt remember RABBITS but I remembered Heartguard medicine wahoo

Good morning my Rabbit friends! I said rabbits just after midnight, as I was ready to turn out my light. Slept a who,e six hours and twenty minutes! Before my shower, I looked at my Davis Scientific weather station, and it was 71 in my room and 71 outside, at 9:30 am! Not often temps are the same. We got into low 80's yesterday. We had hoped for rain this weekend, but it got pushed into next week, if at all. All the reservoirs in CA are hurting this year. Boating season is in question as to if it will even be possible. Not good since we depend on our reservoirs for our water for our homes and businesses.
All the talk about dog treats and no mention of real, big beefy knuckle bones. Don't your dogs like them?
I'm going to Costco in a bit. Chris and I decided we wanted one of their boneless Mastercut hams for Easter. Keeping it as simple as I can. He wants the scalloped potatoes I made in instant pot again, so I'll do that.
I haven't even planned a trip yet. With kitty senior citizens, I don't want Chris to be left alone with their care long. My grandson will be 13 in July but I just don't think I can travel all the way to MN.
Good to see everyone pop up on rabbits day. Have a good Thursday everyone.

Anne, we can’t be too careful. Changing the vaccine appointment was a good move.

Velda, I have looked at some of those big bones that are for sale but I am afraid that they might have salmonella. I bought a bag of the Bully Treats but good grief they stink. Sugar had one of the bones that they stuff with something but as soon as she can't get anything out of it she is done with it.

I slept the longest I have in forever. I was exhausted lady night and sleeping by maybe 10 pm! With a potty break at 4 am (when I probably spoke to Ty, thus negating my rabbits a few hours later, I returned to bed and slept until 8. I awoke with a headache so took some Tylenol and dozed off and on until after 9!

My almost new couch was picked up to go to a new home in exchange for the daybed brought to replace it. I'll end up getting bolsters and lots of pillows and it'll be comfie, I'm sure. It takes up a little more space in this little casita, but will work better for me.

Mostly I'm just doing last minute things to close up the casita for who knows how long, maybe a year or longer. Tomorrow I'll do the little things necessary in the rig when I've sat for so long. Those won't take long. In a few I'm running to the grocery store and going inside! That's been unheard of forever! I only need a couple things so I'll be in and out quick. But it's nice to feel comfortable doing this.

Happy April 1st and good to see so many posts.

My arm where I got my second vaccine is really really sore, but I took some tylenol and the body aches are gone. Had trouble sleeping for some reason, but slept in at least. Might have been that I tend to roll around in bed, so ended up a couple of times on my sore arm. +Had a hard time getting out of bed, even though it was almost noon! Got my vacuum out and gave the place a thorough vacuuming, which makes everything seem a lot cleaner, then made some blueberry pancakes from scratch. Froze enough for three more breakfasts, but wish i had some sausage to go with them. Just did grocery shopping yesterday morning before my shot, but still need stuff. Bad thing is that my refrigerator and freezer are stuffed full, so I need to eat some stuff to make some room.

I am looking forward to do some shopping in a couple of weeks. Would go out to dinner then, but no one to go out with. Darn.

Anyway, I am here at Leasburg Dam for 8 days, so going to do some relaxing.
