Evening ladies~~~
Just stoking the campfire again.

Got my truck back yesterday and did a test drive, with multiple starts of the ignition per a mechanic that a friend had contact me. A bit of a delayed start, but he said that would be expected until all air can get out of the lines. It started alot better today.

Drove the 3 hours to the SKP park in Livingston too. No problems. Will grab my mail on Monday and then off to Shreveport. Want to change dates for the next two stops so I can keep my schedule back to Illinois. Fingers crossed weather doesn't throw a monkey wrench on my route and dates.

That's it from me. Have a good evening everyone!

Sigh, camp fires....when we really miss the old fashion GTGs, the potlucks, maybe for some an adult beverage, friendships and the sharing of stories..... I'll just sit here wrapped up in my blanket with my dog resting beside my chair and ponder the past, present and the future....for a while......

Hooray for getting the truck back, Cheryl & that you're on the road again. :D
Not to worry, Tina. Many of us continue to lay low right now. I, too, miss the person to person contact of the old GTGs. While I sold my travelin' van, I now have my eyes on more road trips & eventually experiencing more of Europe when time & $$ allows. Rest up & dream now because there is more to come in all of our futures. ;)

I'm out here when anyone feels comfortable getting together.

I have to say, it has been a boring past year because museums and a lot of touristy places are closed, so sightseeing is limited. And of course, no get-togethers in the past year. And my planned trip back to Yorkshire and Scotland had to be cancelled.

About ten days ago, I did go to a mall, but just to a couple of stores to get what I needed. Felt good, however, but now I want to go to a restaurant with friends--you know--sitting down at a table and being served on real dishes instead of takeout and chatting.

Sigh.....

Good evening ladies~~~
Crossed the border, or I should say the Big Muddy (Mississippi River) today and back in the Land of Lincoln and radio stations that start with a "W". :D

In Springfield Illinois for 4 nights then will be moving to Kankakee for 6 weeks to visit Dad, some family and friends. Fingers crossed. Also the requisite doctor, dentist and chiro. Good thing too since my neck has really been bothering me again for about the last month. The usual things I can do for relief aren't working and I was in no mood to pay a first visit fee to a chiro, knowing I'll probably never go there again.

I'm also hoping to get an update on probate proceedings for Ma's will. Most is settled except for three different stocks that I'll probably have to pay replacement cost for certificates.

A fire would feel good tonight. Springfield is under a frost advisory for tonight. Temps are below normal. ugh! I never put the flannel sheets on the bed this winter even with the winter storm in Texas and I sure am not putting them on in April!

That's it from me. Probably won't have much to check in about for the coming weeks but you never know.

Have a good evening. Hopefully the winds will die down for those experiencing them.

Cheryl, glad you made it back to Illinois. Good luck with the probate proceedings. It's been 3 years and I am still waiting. The original paperwork for a CD is missing but at least the bank let me changed it to my SS number. Harold had land in his grandfather's estate. I don't even know how many heirs there are now. It won't go to my son until I'm gone unless I have it changed. He's not going to see about it so no need to do anything. At least it's still being farmed so there is enough income to pay the property tax.
