Sunday, March 21st

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday, March 21st

Morning. Thought I would throw in a date today. Sometimes we need to be reminded of what Day or date it is. We lose track when we are retired

Decided yesterday to take the dogs up to a State park about 50 miles north and walk around the park. They had a great time with all the sniffs. Aloha State Park is located on Mullett Lake, which is the 5th largest lake in Michigan at10 miles long, 4 miles wide and has 31 miles of shoreline. It’s a nice park, though unfortunately due to disease, has lost over 400 trees, so is pretty open. But it has some of the most spectacular sunsets of any of our inland parks. It’s proximity to the Mackinac area makes it a big draw as well as a boaters paradise. Very busy in summer.

Shelia, glad you decided to stdy put, but you sound like you are ready to head home. Yes, there are things such as electric lights, running water, TV’s etc. out there

Seems to be some vibes about doing a GTG someplace. I remember the fun that we had for those of us who went to Shipshewana, and Thompson causeway. And even the few that were here in Michigan. Have to do some looking around and see if maybe there is a possibility someplace. It would be a nice time to be together and hopefully be free of this Covid and back to some semblance of normal.

Think todsy is going to be some raking in the backyard, clean up the garage a bit, Maybe open my trailer for awhile, put the stabilzer in my snowblowers fuel tanks and then take the pups for a walk. First need to hop in the shower. So guess I should get moving here.

Good morning Sue and all who follow,
Another beautiful spring day here.
Trying something new.... My son brought home a big bag of fresh ginger the other day. A fellow at work at bought a big box of Ecuadorian ginger and was sharing it. Both my son and I use a lot of fresh ginger, but we couldn’t use it all. My son froze some and I got out the dehydrator. I peeled and chopped the fresh ginger and put it on cheese cloth in three trays and plugged in the dehydrator. Awhile back I bought some dried ginger at a tea shop and it makes a very refreshing drink. Here’s hoping the ginger will dry. What are you doing today? Peggy

Morning Sue and All, had a rare but nice Sunday breakfast, pancakes, sausage and eggs. Pollen count is up on the shore so took an Allegra. Plan to sit on the balcony in the sunshine. Making lists for Tuesday’s travels to Eastridge Gardens, Lowe’s, Walmart and the bank, I am so excited. Will still take safety precautions but not as concerned as before vaccine. Be safe

Good morning, having my second cup of java then will tackle a project or two. Need to get out in my shed and start sorting thru the tubs I brought up from my storage unit in Medford. Then will need to make a run to the donation center, probably tomorrow. Cloudy with showers off and on so far. Hoping we see the sun this afternoon as it is cold and damp in that storage shed. Guess next weekend is going to be nice here high of 67. BUT I get my second Covid shot on Friday so fingers crossed I feel fine as I have work to do in my yard LOL Now time to clean out my robot vacuum and get her going. Also need to organize all my paperwork I just threw in a box when I moved up here. If no sun today I will start tackling that chore. Right now I can't find anything ha ha I want to organize all the instructions for everything I bought so when I need to reference them I will know where they are.

Breakfast was scrambled egg with cheese, sliced tomatoes and 1/2 avocado and glass of V8 juice, it hit the spot. Not sure what dinner will bring, we shall see.

Marne one thing to remember is that with the internet most manual and or instructions can be found on line or on some random forum of users.

The sun is out but all my body is good for is hanging around the say bed taking my meds and reading. Parts of me are feeling stronger and I am investing time and money in seeking relief for my back but am impatient and periodically wonder how the rest of this aging process might be, sigh. Lark so wants to get back to training. Then I reminded myself of those weeks in Dec and Jan that my brain would not concentrate enough for reading and am grateful to reclaim that skill at least. I want to be as patient with me as Lark is.....

Lazy Sunday here.

Work up around 4 this morning so not much motivation except to take Sadie for a longer than usual walk.

Need to take DD's car out for a run today. Glad I can keep it here while she's in France, but somewhat of a pain to make sure I drive it occassionally. Hoping my ex will take it when he moves out here in a few months. If DD decides she's staying in France then we'll sell it.
Going to mail something to them so have to figure out best way to send it so they don't have to pay duties or import taxes.

Just realized I'll have my little buddy next weekend (day & night) in addition to the regular weekdays so need to tend to anything I want to get done today.

Irmi, I really enjoy seeing how your casita is coming along. Love the colors of your furniture.
Sue, yep, we are so much alike. Alhough you do run circles around some of us with all your projects. :)
Shirl, what a nice breakfast! Enjoy the sunshine.
Peggy, let us know how the ginger turns out.
Karen, hope your 2nd shot is a non-event.
Tina, yes, be patient with yourself. Step by step, day by day, healing & wellness with return.
Barbie, I agree some people are just stupid - not respecting nature & animals. I saw that report on the news this morning. I hope they throw the book at him!

Oh, I just found out that I will be getting a stimulus deposit this Wed. After most of you got yours last week, I thought they must have looked at my 2019 return rather than my recently submitted 2020 return. I knew I'd get it as a credit when I file next year, but checked yesterday & yep, I'm getting one! That'll pay for my new tires & a few other things.

Well, better get out there & get something done.
Take care,
Catherine

I'm glad I don't have a reservation in Miami this week! I'm sure you read about the kids going nuts down there. The worst thing is that their not-too-bright governor last week opened everything up and said that Florida is now an "oasis of freedom." That is all these kids needed! Few are wearing masks and they are partying all night in the streets. I know Florida hotels and restaurants need the business, but I think they got more than they bargained for.

I slept in this morning and opened my freezer to find something, but ended up completely emptying and defrosting it! At least now I have room to put in some groceries this week. It has been really over-full. Tossed out some really old hamburger, but rest is good. I have been dating things lately, which I should have been doing for eons.

I love Sundays because so many people go home in the morning. This campground was very full Friday and yesterday, but is about 25% occupied right now. I am here until Thursday morning. I have figured out wind picks up every afternoon, so I will get up early and be on the road by no later than 9 am to beat the wind. Need to stop in Deming for some things, then on to five days back at City of Rocks, and then one day at commercial campground ro do some laundry and on to get my second vaccine on the 31st. Hope I do not get too sick, but I have lots of Tylenol, Advil, and aspirin!

Hi ladies!

Thank you to all of you for the kind messages on our casita & furniture. Although at times, this has been a headache but as Steve and I have discussed, everything in the casita is exactly what we wanted, so it was all worth it.

Judy, the governor of FL has done exactly as you said. Even when we go to the grocery store, we are in the minority wearing masks. But we will continue to do so.

Sheila, stay put until you feel comfortable getting back on the road. I will be talking to Carolb tomorrow and I do mention all of you to her, as so many of you have met her.

Have a good night all!

You would think your governor would realize that saying Florida is an oasis of freedom is one thing during most of the year, but NOT the thing to say just before spring break for college students who are looking for places to party!

I spent a week about 3 years ago in Grayton Beach SP on the Florida Panhandle. Nice peaceful campground, but I decided to ride my bike down to the town I could see on the map about 1 mile away. It turned out to be a place called Seaside, which is a planned development with lots of hotels and homes for rent. What I did not know is that was a spring break congregating place for college students from all over the South. Traffic on the two-lane going in was bumper to bumper, and I had to walk my bike through the crowds. I was bundled up in several layers of clothing because the high was about 50, and I was still cold, but there were thousands of girls wearing bikinis and thousands of boys in jackets following them around. There were college students on the beach, on the sidewalks, outside of bars and shops, and walking in the middle of the road!

I was obviously behind the times because I thought spring break was Daytona Beach and Miami. Anyway, I headed back to the nice, quiet campground! Warning: Stay away from any place in the Florida Panhandle during spring break!

This area is popular for spring breakers and there are quite a few here now. But we still have a lot of restrictions here and they are strictly enforced. Florida is in for a rude awakening when they get another huge spike in a few weeks! And the kids will go home and spread it to their family and friends. :x

I noticed this week that I am more easily annoyed by people (ie, coworkers) and a lot less patient lately. Not sure what that is about. Everyone is pissing me off! :o  Luckily, I use a lot of discretion and don't voice my feelings out loud. Just a lot of mumbling under my breath! The new female co-worker who came over from another shop, is one of the subjects of my frustrations. She talks loud, is very opinionated, and is bossy and defensive with her clients. She does more talking than listening and really pissed off one of her clients today who left with a bad haircut because she wasn't listening to what he was telling her. I am glad I only have a few more years of cutting hair! It is like being in junior high school again but I am the only adult! I miss working with my manager. I still haven't met our new manager.

OK, done with my crabby rant now. :D It has been very windy again today. Had my windows open last night and it felt so good to have the cool breeze blowing thru my bedroom. More wind for the next couple days. Becoming kind of the norm lately. Saw a lot of rain coming over the mountains this evening but none of it made it to us. Glad the mountains are getting a good soaking tho!

Karen, you are gonna have a busy and fun summer fixing up your yard!

Irmi, you two will have a busy and fun summer entertaining in your new casita!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Judy! Heads up! Advil amd aspirin are absolute no no's after CoVid vaccine as they are anti-inflammatory and interfere with the immune development. Tylenol is fine. Have read that numerous times and listened as a Dr at the vaccine site told two wome, who said, we will just go home and take Motrin., dr made it very clear that was a bad idea!
