And it’s Saturdsy

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And it’s Saturdsy

Postby Colliemom » Sat Mar 20, 2021 6:57 am

Good morning on this beautiful crack of Dawn Saturday. Daylight is slowly moving in and the sun has yet to peak above the horizon, but promises a beautiful day. Not sure what I am going to do with it, but I know it will be something. I want to put fuel stabilizer in my snowblowers, as they are just sitting here doing nothing. But those of us who loves ve here, know that winter can have one last hurrah yet, so no putting them away just yet.

Barbie, you are right about the wildlife. We have bear, deer, coyotes, raccoon, beaver, skunks, squirrels, chipmunks, and whatever else roams the woods here. Part of living in the north woods. I have sealed of the side of the shed the skunk was digging on to get under it, so shall see what happens. I need for the ground to thaw before I can dig the chicken wire down farther in. Judy, my fence actually starts from the front. Corners of the shed. If it weren’t for the trees, undergrowth etc., I would have liked to have started it from the back corners, but too much work.

Beth, love your flag. Irmi, beautiful furniture. The casita is looking very cozy. Shelia, safe travels heading north.

Barbie, have you though about labeling your storage bins. Stick them on with tape so you can take them off. I did that with mine. I have emptied mine out now except for a couple, as I have gotten rid of stuff before and after I moved. The don’t need it, not using it, nobody to give it to, nobody’s going to want it after I’m gone scenerio. May as well give it away or donate it to Goodwill/Salvation Army/Habitat for others to use. If somebody is having a garage sale in the neighborhood, I sometimes put a free box out by the driveway. It disappears.

Reading the posts about the nonviolent books, movies etc., shows how much of a common thread flows through this group. We are so much alike in many ways, all the way down to our love for RV’s, ven though some of us no longer have them.

Enough jabbering here. Time to get this day started. Have a quilt in the dryer and some bedding in the washer, so should check in their status. Hace a nice day all.

Good morning Sue and all who follow. It’s Spring!!!!
Irmi, you have a nice setup in your casita and I really liked seeing Steve. I miss my rving buddies and like like seeing photos.
Shiela, I can’t believe it’s time to leave Q and head north. Safe travels.
Barbie, you are always learning something new, and that will keep you young. You go, girl.
Tina, so glad to hear that you are out and about. I like the idea of a gtg where we can all meet up. I hope someone will pick a time and place, Core of Engineers parks are usually a good choice and reasonably priced. Maybe Ohio or Pennsylvania. What say you????
It’s going to be a lovely day here and I plan to get outside and tidy up the gardens. Peggy

Morning Sue, Peggy and All, sunny and less wind today. Tomorrow 56°, yea! No plans for today. Would like to be out walking garden centers but working folks will be doing their shopping so will wait until Tuesday. Need to straighten the balcony since there are empty containers and bags of potting soil sitting around. The maintenance dept for this complex makes their rounds every three months checking safety equipment, changing filters, etc. They need access to mechanical rooms so I need to tidy things and clear a path. Irmi, the wall color and new furniture in the casita is perfect. Sheila, safe travels going north. I need to find something fun to do. Be safe

Good morning, hoping for a non-rainy day today. I want to go outside and see where I should plant my Azalea and Lilac bushes. Was cold, damp and windy yesterday so that was NO working outside day. I have a few projects I am working on inside so might do that today also. Tomorrow is supposed to have some sun, so we shall see.

Barbie I have stuff in tubs also and I bought the Pack n Track labels. Download their app, apply a label to your tub, scan it and enter what is inside. You can edit it as you take stuff out or put stuff in. As I start going thru these tubs in my shed I will be doing that. I had most of my tubs in my storage unit labeled so was easy to find what I could use. This is an excellent video on how to use this system.

Have some curtain rods to put up today then some housekeeping is in order. I am pondering what to take out for dinner tonight or tomorrow. Might be crockpot time.

The sun is shining on a beautiful first day of spring. Hope we get more rain, but , for now, it's good to be able to get out in yard to see what needs doing. Yesterday , the one week mark after Pfizer 2, passed uneventfully, unlike the one week after Pfizer 1, when my BP went nuts. Went to Curves, then Costco, and local grocery and home. After replacing my credit card Thursday, I discovered Friday, it involved my Costco account, in that someone broke in and added their email to my account. Weird thing was, it wasn't visible to me. Probably because Mel was primary on the account and Costco have said if I remove him, it cancels the whole account (it was a business account) and will cost me more. They removed the other email and I changed the password. So tired of this crazy stuff going on! No clue how they got into the account or why they ordered a bag of Chex mix sent to my house, but it's making me nervous. Going to install a security system. And monitor my credit and bank accounts even more carefully than I have (which is how I caught this the day it occured or day after at most).
Going to destress on treadmill and Total Gym.
Sure like the furniture Irmi and Steve chose!
Have a good day all.

Since I leave the beginning of April, I've been thinking of the things I want to do before I leave, like defrost the fridge while I have the other. So much easier. I was thinking today I should do that and other things that aren't contingent on last minute before I get my 2nd shot just in case it knocks me on my butt. Meantime sunny and low 80's today. The only difference from yesterday is it might get slightly windy this afternoon.

Velda, I check my bank account and one credit card almost daily. Just in case. It's terrible what people will do.

Barbie, I understand the tubs. I just frustrate myself because I keep finding things (usually when I can't find what I need) that I haven't used in forever, if ever. It's frustrating. I need to empty all the storage in my rv out and sort and purge again. Then next time I come back here I need to do the same in the casita. And I don't have probably any more square footage than you combined. It's going to always be a challenge, isn't it?

Good afternoon -

Just saw on FB Sheila has delayed her trip due to wind. Beth, I've started my list for next week before my 2nd shot and move. Cousin and his 95-year-old mother-in-law are the sickest I've heard of after 2nd shot. Cousin's wife had no reaction. Irmi, you must be so thrilled with the casita!

My daughter's guy, Alan, does a lot of research on products as do I. Fun to have someone to compare notes with - we both chose the same TV! Grandson called and gave me advice on which Subaru to buy since I haven't really compared models yet!

Talked with my neighbor yesterday. They came not long ago after selling their home up north in a much less populated area. They are wanting to buy a house here and have been hit with sticker shock. I know the feeling.

Again obviously nothing exciting here! I continue with my online wish lists.

Velda, you might want to call the three credit organizations and tell them to put a lock on your accounts so no one can get a credit report to open up a new credit card or buy a house with it. It is unlikely, but easy to put on a lock and then have it removed when you need to.

I am beginning to figure out the wind around here. It is usually calm in the morning and gets windy in afternoon. And I mean really windy to the point where driving an RV is not safe. I have to leave on Thursday to go back to City of Rocks near Deming and it is 130 miles, so I am going to get up at 8 and be on the road fast. That way, I can stop briefly for groceries in Deming and get to the campsite before the worst of the wind hits. We just got a really, really strong gust, and I jumped up and put the one slide in because I thought it was going to tear my slide awning. Glad I don't have a popup!!!

Wind is now down to about 20 MPH and will go lower when the sun sets.

I got up and checked the weather.com as well as local on the phone... here the winds were going to start getting stronger around noon (yesterday it was later so based this morning activities on that information) looking at the weather for Needles high winds today and tomorrow so would have had a two day stay there and a very long day on Monday plus the winds were that low in the southern Utah area so called daughter talked it over and decided that I would just wait for the next window of opportunity... so since I wasn't going any where called the folks that were coming out to help and told them I wasn't going anywhere... then bummed out either on fb or phone or sending texts ect then thought I ought to go get shower when I called it was after 1 they were closing at 2 so decided that I needed to hustle then looked in mirror looked so tired that I laid down thought for an hour then I'd figure out the shower I turned off the timer (if I even turned it on) and slept lots longer and didn't do much of anything the rest of the day... part of me was looking forward to being plugged in it's quieter for one thing... after a few months I am ready for the modern conveniences
so now I will try and find a good time weather wise to go north... I will need to cancel my eye appointment as I know I won't be there by then...
my sister text me said the winds would be good both Sunday and Monday in Vegas not what weather.com said yes to Monday no to Sunday.... not sure what she considers good wind... :? but am glad that I decided not to go dd said that if I can come up not next week but the week following that it is spring break for them and perhaps they can still come help me with driving not sure why they don't think I can do it unless it's due to the cataracts oh well I won't complain if they want to help
you all have a great day

It is very windy again here tonight!! I have my bedroom window open and getting a nice cool breeze in here. Last night I had the windows open but no breeze at all and very warm. I put a fan in the window which helped a little. I didn't get to sleep until around 3am. My mind kept racing and I couldn't shut it up! Probably from that nap I took earlier in the day.

Long day at work. Was slow until about 3pm and then it got nuts! Very busy almost until closing. Back to work tomorrow. One of my clients today lives just a few houses down from me here in the park with his wife. Have not met them before.

Sheila, better to wait it out if you can. Not a chance worth taking.

Saw on the news about a man who was at the San Diego Zoo with his 2 year old daughter and decided to go past 2 barriers to get a close up photo of an elephant there. The elephant charged him and he tripped and dropped his daughter, He picked her up and got under the fence just in time! He was arrested for child abuse and child endangerment. What is wrong with people????

Barbie, it is incredible how dumb people are sometimes. Most small alligators are pretty harmless to adult humans. These are the ones under, say 5' long. However, I was at Myakka River State Park in Florida at the store near the lake, and a really big alligator was resting on the bank of the river. He was more like 9' - 10' long--a really big guy. So this young man had given his camera to his wife, and he was running back and forth slapping this big alligator on the tail, while his wife was supposed to be getting a good picture. And instead of just doing this once or twice, he must have done it 10 times. Frankly, by that time, I was rooting for the alligator to turn around and grab him!! He was Asian and did not seem to speak English, so I assume he was an international visitor, but I think anyone would recognize that a really big alligator was dangerous!

And we won't even talk about the people at Grand Canyon who climb over the fences on the edge of the canyon so they can get good photos!

And the people who pet the bison at Custer State Park and Yellowstone. Or that get too close or taunt bears that I saw in Alaska. I went and found a game warden after watching one man throwing rocks at a bear to try to get the bear to leave. He had two young (both under 5) children with him. The bear was shrugging off the rocks, but was getting aggravated. We left and I never heard more after stopping and telling the game warden, but I hope he got a big fine.

It is Sunday but I am just reading all the post from yesterday and wow, you wonder how some people can do such stupid things around animals! Velda I'm sorry for your problems with compromised credit cards. I had to do a freeze cards when I received a debit card for unemployment which I hadn't signed up for since the early 70's . I had a difficult time finding the correct phone number for each as so many were listed on line. I finally called a bank and they gave me the Trans Union number (800-680-7289 and Trans Union gave me the number for the other two. I spoke to a person at Trans Union but at Equifax it was all automated. There are several options but I requested the free credit freeze. I did not register with Experian. I did give the paperwork and the debit card to the person who does our taxes. I have no idea how much it was for.

Anita we are looking for a new TV also, which one did decide on. Also what was the suggestion for a Subaru, I think we may trade soon. I think it was the '17 that had battery issues. Apparently they put in a lot of new technology and didn't put in a strong enough battery, so batteries weren't lasting long.

I spent Saturday afternoon in the ER. My BP went way up and my heart was racing. I have been extremely tired on and off for some time but more consistently since vaccines, especially the last one which was March 2. Everything was fine expect my sodium level was quite low so I had to have an IV drip for dehydration. The nurse and doctor I had were very nice, the nurse was so sweet about hooking and unhooking me up to go to the bathroom due to the IV. I drink a lot of water so they said intersperse the water with V8 juice so I don't flush out the sodium in my body. Now to see if my exhaustion improves, he said he didn't guarantee it but hopefully it should improve. He also said they had a lot of people coming in after their vaccines but didn't say reasons. I'm blaming not eating out enough for low levels of sodium. i don't salt food when cooking but use spices so I think eating out was balancing my levels better.

Irmi your casita is looking good ! I love the wall colors and rattan furniture style.
