Snowy Tuesdsy morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Tuesdsy morning

Postby Colliemom » Tue Mar 16, 2021 8:57 am

Good Morning. Had about an inch of wet snow last night. Won’t be around long. Nice weather moving in. We are having a record watch as the NWS calls it  we are at 68.6 inches of snow for this season so far. Normal is 140. Lowest snowfall in record stands at 78.8 in 2009/10 season. So they are watching to see if we catch up to that or if this will be an all time record low snowfall winter. Molly who loves sleeping on my deck at night, was out there when it started snowing and Piper woke me up cause Molly wanted in. She was covered in snow and shook a pile off on the floor  she doesn’t stay out there all night, maybe for an hour or two and then she comes in and then maybe later she wants back out. Needless to say I get woke up a few times during the night.

Got my first vaccine shot yesterday. Pfizer. No issues other than just sore where they gave me the shot. Will get my next one in a month. Happens to be the same day that I have my appointment with my retina specialist here, so I will go over there after I am done with him and get it p. Therewere a lot of people there yesterday.

Shirl, saw on the news they had some homes damaged in a rare NJ wildfire yesterday. Didn’t realize it was that dry out there.

Reading about ity bitty news and everything yesterday, I agree with Barbie, and Tina, I love the way you worded it about how things have changed over the years because we have gotten older and some have drifted away. I to miss them. I got a lot of encouragement from those of you who have been on the forum for a number of years as well as some who are no longer here when I started to first RV. I enjoyed reading the blogs on the post about the virus travels and places everyone has gone. Gives one a lot of inspiration. I do miss having GTG’s. In fact I have sort Of been thinking if we can find a place somewhere where some of us could get together, that would not involve a lot of driving for any particular person who would be interested in coming. There are still some of us who have RV’s and there’s no reason why someone who can drive and do not camp anymore can’t rent a cabin or some crazy thing. I think the last time some of us got together was at Thompson causeway in Illinois. The Hocking Hills area and Ohio seems like a pretty nice place to see and I think there are also some places down in Tennessee.

Right now I guess I had better get on my computer and write up a couple of things on my printer and get my next months budget pages ready to roll, as it’s payday tomorrow. I had a gal coming out to measure my carpeting because I am planning to replace my living room carpet and then I’m going to get busy doing some craft projects. Maybe later this week if the weather warms up like they say it should I might lift the cover off the door my trailer and open it up to let some nice fresh air in there. I also need to take my battery box off and turn it around as my neighbor help me put it on last spring and When I put the battery and I realized we had turned around the wrong way   when I put the battery and I realized we had turned around the wrong way.

So, that’s the way it is, Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Have a nice day all.

Morning Sue and All, Fatigue hit me around 9pm last night and I fought to stay awake until 11. Slept good and have a sore arm. Will have a lazy day and let the vaccine do it’s thing. Vaccinator said I would have the same reaction as with the first shot and she was right. I have corn beef and cabbage for tomorrow’s dinner but will cook in crockpot. Sue, my area has fire warnings. Was surprised because it seemed that it rained for days. Have another week of low temps and then a little warmer and I’m ready. Be safe

Sue, my dog wants to lay out on the back porch at night and watch the wild life. There is a fenced area that is about 10 ft wide and 50 feet long for her. One night I looked out and she was chasing an Armadillo. The Armadillo was outside of the fence and Sugar was inside. She almost ran into the fence when she got to the end. Texas probably got some of your missing snow.

I probably should go finish mowing but I don't want to get dirty. I told my son I would meet him in town and bring him some mail and I want to go to the feed store. He is having surgery on his arm tomorrow. I hope I don't have to bring him. I know they won't let me in the hospital.

I was thinking about getting some corned beef but don't know if I want to be eating that for a week. The only time I see corned beef around here is around St Patrick's Day.

I hope my second shot doesn't make me sick. I am going in my motorhome and leave from the hospital after I get my shot. Me being ready to leave here at 8:00 in the morning is going to be an accomplishment.

We are suppose to have some severe weather tonight.

Yikes, of all days to need to be up early. It's cold and windy. When I took Ty out, the wind and some sleet were slapping me in the face. He peed once and didn't poop... Wanted back in. I think the sleet was stinging him also. I drove down to the office for my appt to get something notarized. By then the sleet was accompanied by snow. And while the temps claimed 40, the feels like has been steady around 30. I thought we were over this for this winter. So Martha, you might be next unfortunately. But it's only a one day dip, or so they say lol It's supposed to be 70 tomorrow and upper 70's/low 80's the following 3 days.

Notarized paper sent to attorney and now just wait. They predict another 6 weeks. Hey I've waited 35 years, I'll just be stunned if I do ever see anything.

Sue and Martha you're reminding me of Moxie. She loved being outside in the winter especially.

I'm not a fan of corned beef and cabbage. I still remember how much my mom loved it and fixed it every St. Patrick's day. She'd save some cabbage raw, as I'd eat it that way. I think I tried a bite of corned beef every year and every year determined it was on my no eat list lol

My only other plan for today is to dump my tanks. But that'll wait until the temps go up at least a little and the sun is out.

Good morning gals!

Whew! Just came off the putting course! It is 56* with 25+ mph winds and is very brisk out there! Windchill must be about 45! My eyes burn from the cold wind. I played pretty well tho. Tied for 1st place out of 6 of us. One gal got a hole in one! There were palm fronds all over the golf course, and the roads and yards have piles of fronds on them! The landscape crew will be busy today cleaning all that up! At least the sun is out and there isn't as much dust in the air.

The women's golf league plays on Tuesday mornings too and they were all dressed up for St Patty's Day and had their golf carts decorated and were having a big party! A couple of the gals here have a long golf cart with a tropical grass roof on it. It is the official Party Cart and they were serving adult beverages off the back of it. Those gals really knows how to party! They didn't seem to care how cold it was!

One of the cats peed on my sliding door again last night. They must be trying to mark their territory to protect the food. I have learned to keep the screen door open so the pee doesn't get on that too. Harder to clean that off.

The coyote hasn't been seen for awhile so either she left the park or she had her pups and is laying low nursing them and only coming out at night to find food.

I had an older client the other day who started bragging about being a great lover (he actually said "the world's greatest!) and how his libido was like he was an 18 year old! He said he divorced his wife and dumped his girlfriend (who was 20 years younger than him) because they couldn't keep up with him! Geesh!! Like I really wanted to hear about that! My manager said later that she and her client were quietly laughing across the room!

My cough was finally almost gone last week but is back again now. I think all the dust blowing around isn't helping any.

Need to get a few things done around here before I go to PT later.

Have a good day! :D

Good morning all.

Little guy is down for his nap. Daylight savings time agrees with him. He was very happy yesterday, napped well & so far today, the same.

Got new tires & alignment on my minivan Saturday. Car drives so much better now. :o Probably should have done it months ago.

I love this group even though I don't post often. Beth guided me to BoomersBenefits when I was signing up for medicare & to the IRS app to check my refund status. Years ago, several of you encouraged me in my first cross-country trip in my travelin' van. I enjoy following Cheryl's travels & how Judy books her sites so diligently. I've had the opportunity to meet some of you, walked dogs with Tina, GTG'd at Quartzite, was shown around San Diego by Lyn, & followed others trials & joys of life in general. I claim you each as a friend & we know that wherever we go, we will have a friend nearby. Of course, our conversations have changed somewhat but I enjoy the posts, the recipes & even just the everyday "what's for dinner" posts. They let me know that I'm not the only one having as rather non-exciting life.

You can't talk/visit like this on FB so I much prefer this forum to it.

Take care & let's carry on - even if it is with itty-bitty reports.

Good morning. Sun is out for now, we shall see how long it lasts after a very foggy morning. And it was cold 28 but no wind so just cold. I didnt stay outside long, just long enough for Emma to do her business.

Barbie my friend had the same problem with her sliding door she put rain-X on it and it washed off easily after that. I dont really care too much for corned beef and cabbage unless the meat is in a Reuben then I like it. I guess I need to go get my mail today, it has been a few day well 6 actually LOL I just do all my bills online so never in a hurry to get my mail. And I have one of those block teeny tiny mailboxes so guess I will wander down there today. Then might start Season 2 of Heartland, especially because I thought there were 7 seasons and Anita informed me there are 14 YIKES. I suppose it will take me the rest of the year to finish (if I do) I am like a fidgety child, I get kind of bored with same-o-same-o. But we shall see.

One year ago today we arrived homes from Yuma and have hardly left the farm since then. Every two weeks we go to the grocery store, go to Mass every Saturday evening and every other Sunday our grand daughter comes to spend the day with us as her parents both have weekend work so we give her a ride home. I really miss my SW trip. Love it our there. We probably wouldn't be living here in MN if it weren't for Kenzie. Really would like to be where winters are shorted and spring comes earlier. I don't like the cooped up feeling I get in the winter. Although being home so much this past year has given both of us time to clear out our respective areas of the house and out buildings. You would be surprised how much 2 people can collect when there is a pole barn, barn, grain shed, 2 corn cribs and a tractor shed to stuff stuff in  . I have been knitting hats for donation and bought a quilt pattern to learn quilting. I don't do the fine stitching but can tie a quilt pretty good. I do keep occupied but I miss chatting face to face with people. Had my first vaccine last week and on the 30th I get the second dose and will feel more secure going out into the world. Hope after yesterdays snow spring will arrive and stay. That's the itty bitty news from here.

Woke up to rockin' n' rollin' with 30 MPH winds hitting my rig on the side. I do not have stabilizers, so when the wind hits, my vehicle rocks and rolls on the springs and shocks. Glad I do not get seasick. When I woke up early in the morning, I started my engine and put in the slide on the windy side so the awning does not tear. I really need to replace both slide awnings, as well as my big awning that I lost three weeks ago. I got some unexpected money, so will spend it on that. No stimulus money yet.

I am really glad I drove here yesterday when it was calm. I would not have made it, frankly, because it is just too scary in winds like this. And, no going outside today at all because it is a sandstorm out there!! I am plugged in and filled my fresh water tank yesterday, knowing it would be windy today, so I am fine. Not supposed to be windy tomorrow, thankfully. I like this campground, also, because it is newer and sites are far apart, plus I have a view of the lake.

So, I have lots of water, empty waste tanks, tons of food, good power, good satellite signal, and decent cell service for internet. What more could a person want??

Hey, Sue!! I will be in Michigan and Ohio for most of July and August. I'll be in Sterling State Park near Monroe from July 20-25. After that, I plan to spend a week in Ontario, then who knows where in MI. Thinking of heading to Gettysburg and Washington DC in mid-September before I head south in early October. So maybe we can get together???

Rita, good to hear from you.

Judy, I thought you'd like it there. Sounds like that's the CG area I like with hookups. I can only tell off I go look online.

The wind hasn't stopped here either, bit it's supposed to be gone tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Good afternoon

Barbie, I use ammonia to keep cats away. Since I cleaned up the cat prints in the Sling, I have been dribbling ammonia around it. So far, so good. Just a few drops by your slider.

Well my big news is that I went furniture shopping which means I also drove 40 miles! Furniture shopping was a bust except for one occasional chair, which I didn't buy. Will need to decide on sofa and couple of chairs or loveseat and chairs. Decisions.

Too bad waited until I got home to realize I could have ordered a lawn chair for pick up at Walmart! Might be nap time!

I'm not looking forward to the wind you all are having but we will probably have it too. I finished mowing after I went to town. We have a 90% chance of rain tomorrow but they have missed it for the last few days. We might have 50 mph winds tomorrow and the temperature is going to drop.

Just a note for the ones buying furniture. I bought one of those sofa's with the recliner on each end. That is one heavy piece of furniture and no one really ever uses the recliners.

Barbie, I bet you hear some tales from your customers.

Rita, I know what you mean about how much stuff you can keep if you have somewhere to store it. I am getting better about labeling bins so I don't have to keep looking through them when I want something. Being stuck at home for a year didn't seem to help me clear much out.

the winds subsided a lot so was able to get bins out and the dolls put in them except two are on top for some reason the bin that they usually are but in was damaged when traveling down kept it thinking I'd use it decided not to that I'd just wrap them up well so the rear of the trailer is in travel mode wish I could say the same for more of the trailer but it will happen it always does
did talk with the repairman not sure when he will be out but he assures me he will come...
it's so cold just looked at the thermometer and it's 65 inside I would turn on the buddy but Shadow plopped down in front of it hours ago for his sleep time... he just may get woke up and taken outside to do his business soon so I can have the heat on..
got a container of cup of soup type soup that is called green curry was really good... but not over filling need to find something to have with it ...
had to laugh the other day saw this "new fad" even gave the recipe for it saltines and butter.... eat... what's new about that??? been doing it for years only think my parent's would say I was having cracker's with my butter... Mom lightly butters I think I must take after dad a bit heavy handed... it still makes me shake my head
tomorrow it's not suppose to be windy at all hopefully that is so I've been putting stuff out in the fire pit that totally needs to be burned as well as receipts that I save up to burn...
you all have a good day

The wind finally died down in the afternoon here so it was nice to be outside. I got stuff done outside but none of it was stuff on my list of things to do. Tonight I made a list of things I want/need to sell. Most of it I can get over $20 dollars each for. If I sell all of them, I would make over $400. That would be very helpful, not only the money but also to get rid of a lot of stuff I no longer use or need. I need to dig it all out, clean the dust off and list it all on line. Some things are brand new still in the box!

Therapy was good. I brought my new TENS unit with me so they could check it out and show me how to use it properly. They used mine on me instead of theirs. It feels a little different but seemed to make my shoulder feel better. I noticed quite a bit of change in my range of motion today. Still a ways to go but was encouraging! When I got home, I tried hitting some rubber golf balls in the back yard to test my shoulder out with the golf club. I thought my follow thru swing would give me trouble but it was actually my back swing that caused some discomfort. Not as bad as I thought it would be tho. I will keep working on that for awhile before I try a real golf ball since that will have a much harder impact with the club than the rubber balls.

Sheila, I am the same way with butter. The more, the better! When I was little and my parents took us to a nice restaurant, I would eat just the pats of butter they brought for the bread.

I saw that there are some bad storms moving into the southern states. Hope those of you in those areas hunker down and stay safe! Denver is still digging out of over 2 feet of snow. It will melt fast tho. I guess our rainy season is coming to an end which isn't good since southern CA hasn't had much rain or snow this year. Could be another really bad fire season coming up.

Back to work tomorrow and then off for two days again.
