Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday

Morning All, cool weather but warm afternoons on the balcony. The wind chime project didn’t work as I planned. I bought the Shepard’s hook with clamp, turned out to be 16” high which was perfect for the tiny space. Problem is clamp opens 2”;and the railing is 2 1/2”. Bought a delicate wind chime so the sound wouldn’t annoy the neighbors. It’s very delicate, I can’t hear it either. I have brain strain from thinking. Going to set it aside for now and think about it next week. Making chicken noodle soup today. Second Moderna shot tomorrow. My itty bitty. Be safe

Morning all! After a hot shower yesterday morning, I felt better and only way I know I got shot Friday is to move my left arm a certain way to locate slight soreness. No fever, no body aches, no more tired than usual. Hope my body is building a robust defense.
I never changed clock in my car, so it should be correct now. I think microwave is only other clock I change manually these days. Need to finish laundry I started yesterday. Church via zoom at 11:30. Rain By 6 tonight local news says. Hope that does materialize.
I have dentist in the morning and my Dr for recheck Tuesday. That starts our week here !
Barbara, we have at least 2 of those suites places here and I went a few years back, because my stylist moved there. I did not like it. I could smell chemicals from perms throughout athe building as well as noise from other "rooms" . I also felt claustrophobic, and I really only have one other place that made me feel that way, which was a cave deep in the earth. The suites place felt unsafe to me, with it's rat maze like structure inside. If a person is chemical sensitive, you, would want to go ahead amd visit before commiting to a stay there for even just a cut. It's a challenge here to find a place to cut hair. We used to have at least 3 close by, all closed, now one has reopened but I haven't checked them out yet. To get to stylist I used to see, means a 30 min drive each way to another city as they don't plan to reopen in Roseville, I messaged the owner of the place my stylist works. Good thing I don't get hair cut often! Mine is now almost to my waist and I'd like to take 6 in off.
Have a good day and week!

Shirl, the zip ties I mentioned should work easily. You can buy fairly long ones but may have to connect two together to get the right length to go around the railing. Very easy.

Everybody is looking for their stimulus payment. I checked last night and, like Beth, found mine will be deposited March 17. Then I read an article this morning that said 100 million checks would be deposited on March 17 and banks have been notified they’re coming. So hopefully many of us will see good news on Wednesday.

Sandi, the zip ties were my first thought but the wing nut to tighten the clamp is not removable. Wanted to rest the Shepard’s hook on the railing and zip tie to post but am afraid it would not be stable enough with wing nut and would damaged the railing. Being overly cautious since it is not my property. Will look for a base with a hole for the wing nut. I’m feeling like wing nut. :D

The shepherd’s hook I have doesn’t have a clamp. It has two pointy ends meant to go into the ground. I just stood it on the deck and zip tied in several locations going up. Could you look for one like that and return the other?

Lol, considered that too. Daughter took it and will either cut the wing nut off so it sits flat or will try to stretch the clamp to open another 1/2”. Going to buy a larger wind chime and give this tiny one to a leprechaun. Sandi, you flower is gorgeous, made my day.

Good afternoon. Had a busy and fun weekend. BFF Laura came down and we had beautiful weather. Went to a couple of garden places. I bought a lilac bush and cinnamon red Azalea plant. My tree guys were here waiting for me when I got home and the yard looks very much improved, they did a great job. Wasn't cheap but exactly what I needed. Trimmed up my lace leaf maple tree that was looking so pitiful. Now will look great when the leaves start springing out. Also bought a yard wagon..........Laura has one and so easy to pull and it dumps with just a pull up on the handle. Will be super easy to spread my mulch and transport it where it needs to go LOL Bought 4 pots to put on the front and back deck with some colorful flowers in them. Now I need potting soil in anticipation of Spring ha ha Good thing she doesnt come down every weekend LOL We also went to Costco as she wanted to get some supplies there. The one in Salem is super busy and ours was slightly busy on Saturday but hey not too bad. I went in not needing much and came out poorer. So she left with a full car load. Raining today but we need it so it is okay because we had great weather while she was here.

Time change doesnt really affect me as I have nowhere I have to be at any specific time for a couple weeks and I adjust rather quickly. Most of my clocks update themselves except coffee pot, stove, and microwave. And I have a clock in the kitchen. My dog is pretty much a "whatever type". Very flexible.

So did a little housekeeping this morning and was going to hang a blind or two but thinking I will have a salad for lunch then plant myself in my recliner and continue watching Heartland. That is going to be a long slow process I fear as I just finished Season 1 and there are 7 seasons LOL

The one thing I miss from Michigan, other than the ethnic food, are lilac bushes! What color did you get? Someday I want a dark purple one and maybe a white lilac.

I was going to drive to Pancho Villa SP today, but got to thinking last night about the museum being closed and wanting to do some shopping. Also, the weather showed a wind warning. Winds were only 20 MPH when I left Caballo Lake, and that is barely OK, but they were 30 here, which made a rough drive for the past 10 miles. That solidified my decision NOT to drive to Pancho Villa, which is another 100 miles away.

I could not get a reservation at Leasburg Lake for three nights, so I ended up here in Las Cruces at a commercial campground and settled here for one night. Stopped at Kohls and Penney to satisfy my shopping bug--Kohls had a couple of shirts I wanted, but Penney's did not have the right sheets. Then managed to get Monday and Tuesday at Elephant Butte in same site I was planning on going to for 17-25. Will do a couple of loads of laundry tonight and then head north to Elephant Butte tomorrow. Not supposed to be windy tomorrow.

Good afternoon -

Karen, love your plant shopping and having someone to shop with. Can't wait until my BFF can come over the pass. Don't know if you want to hear Heartland is on its 14th season. :) Only 7 on Netflix but I cheaply bought thru 13 elsewhere. I've just started The Crown. Regular TV is in such a mess.

Shirl, sorry the fun project turned into frustration. Glad your daughter can help. Sandi, pretty flowers! I'm going to try my hand at a Christmas cactus when I settle, but Steven was the one with the green thumb.

I also found my check is due the 17th. Haven't accomplished much today, but made a list. Need to revoke my trust and write a new one, redo my health directives, etc. Also, need to start calculating for vehicle sales or trade-in. Looking at dinnerware online. Found several I like, but they are stoneware. Have had stoneware before, but people claim it's too heavy? Found melamine I like, but not sure that's what I want. Decisions.

Have a good evening!

My phones changed time. They don't understand that Arizona doesn't change. When I looked at one after waking I was shocked that I slept that late. Then realized the phone was wrong. So, for now, they don't change on their own until I get to Utah. If the rest of the country ever goes on dst year round, Arizona will have to change or will then be different all the time.

I like the wall flag holder that arrived yesterday. I searched everywhere in my rig, well obviously not everywhere, for my assorted nails and didn't find them. I went to the CG shop and got one. It's fatter than I want in my door, so think I'll use a nail that came from my picture hooks. I'll decide tomorrow. All that searching tired me out lol

It sounds like many of us will get our checks on St. Paddy's day.

Shirl, isn't it amazing how something that seems it should be so easy, isn't? Karen, I love when people do a good job. Speaking of which, in the fall the man I like best to wash and wax my rig was recovering from pneumonia and way behind, so I used someone else. It was ok, but I called the first to see if he'd have time in the next couple weeks, not expecting him to. He called me back today and will take care of my rig the end of the month. Yay.
Funny with my hearing loss, some wind chimes ruin my sleep. It's like I don't hear the freight trains over a half mile away during the day with my aids in, but sometimes they bother me at night in bed. But, yes, you want to hear the chimes and enjoy them when sitting there. Good luck finding the right one, Shirl.

I loved when I had lilac bushes. So did the deer. Lol

I made it home this afternoon. Monday to Thursday I was camping with RVW group at the local state park. Someone posted a picture of a hog after I left. Glad Sugar didn't see one. I came home for a few hours, unloaded the dirty clothes, cleaned the cat boxes and put the cats some more food. Headed out to the other campout with another group at a fish camp about 50 miles to the West. They were celebrating St Patrick's day but I'm not much into theme campouts and decorations. My sister came to meet me. We never did get to fish. It was very windy most of the time and it was a steep slope to the water and my sister walks with a walker.

I got everything unloaded and 2 loads of laundry done. I am tired. Camping is a lot of work. My knees are bothering me a lot. I don't know if it is all the climbing in and out of the motorhome. I need to go take something and see if that helps.

I think the cats are glad to see me. Every time I sit down one is in my lap. Sugar is glad to be home and in her bed. I'm not sure if she doesn't feel good or is just tired. She wouldn't eat her supper but was eating grass. It looks like my mowing is going to start. It was suppose to rain today but didn't. Maybe I can get some mowing done in the morning before it rains.

I have managed to not get a Costco membership since I have Sam's and it is closer. A couple of the ladies at the first campout had some things from Costco that were really good. Maybe after I get my second shot I will feel more like going to Lafayette.

This morning I woke up at 8:00 and thought I would get to see Sunday Morning but it was really 9:00 so only saw 30 minutes of it. My sister snores like a buzz saw and wakes me up in the middle of the night or I would have been up earlier. I sure wish she could afford her own camper.

BJ, your hair stylist sounds like my dentist. I kind of wish they didn't have my cell phone number and email. I get tired of all the stuff they are trying to sell. They call me at least twice to remind me of an appointment and send a few texts.

so enjoyed your spring Sandi... I love planting containers... watching this fuchsia hoping it will survive it's trip north and the cooler temps... not sure how everything is going to work out and still not sure if I will go this weekend or with another opportunity my son in law is willing to take me a day earlier so we don't have to rush... still need to check weather and see what is going on in several key location's ... one was closed not long ago due to snow and heard of friends that came back down from Utah snow clear to Mesquite NV so don't want to risk that...
Oh yes Shirl there is a certain type of chime that you might look into now if I can remember the name think if you google cup chime or rain chime they chime either when rain hits or wind usually 8 stalks it to me is a very pleasant sound and I think what you could do is plant them in a planter then have some low plants or cascading plants under them... I just looked and they were planted in a rock so no need to plant them in a pot but also the description said not powered by wind I disagree and later in the thing it said wind so didn't try and figure out how to show that one to you... it had I think 6 cups I'd go with one with more this one did say was musically set... but it would give you another option I've wanted one for years and last fall when my 50th anniversary came around thought that I want to get me one again had one it didn't have enough cups to make a sound think that is why it was cheap...
so tomorrow hopefully before the winds start up again.... grrr high winds again hopefully I can get the doll bins in and get the girls put away one bin slide and got the end broken not sure if I will use it or not might just wrap the ones that go in it and put them on top they are tall dolls need a longer bin and hard to find I didn't want one with wheels on it :roll BJ I am sure that it is hard to find a stylist that will work with chemical issues... have you thought of looking for one that travels to the home more expensive I would think but at least you would have more control of your environment...
you all have a good day
