Time Change Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Time Change Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Mar 13, 2021 6:47 am

Good Morning. Sorry for all the confusion yesterday. But then I got confused when I checked back later in the day and read your post Shirl. I looked at my post and couldn’t figure out what I did wrong till I started reading the other posts and realized I had put Wednesdsy instead of Friday, because my title said Friday  And I knew it was Friday, but somehow typed Wednesday. . Then I saw that Beth had changed it  Thanks Beth. But it shows that many of you were fully awake  Consider it your conversation piece for the day. Something different to talk about   This morning I will throw something g else your way. Don’t forget turn your clocks ahead for those going onto Daylight Saving Time. I’m looking forward to the longer evenings.

My piece of itty bitty news is that I got a call from our Meijer Pharmacy yesterday, to notify me that tbey are doing a vaccine clinic on Monday. So I’m scheduled for my first shot in the morning :D Never thought I would see the day when people would be so eager to get a shot. Most of the time we would rather run the other way  She gave me my choice of time starting anywhere from 9:25 AM on. So I took the that one which means I will be the first person in. Guess I will be the guinea pig before they start everybody else  And I made the decision to go with carpet in the living room. So the gal is coming out Tuesday to take the measurements. So the ball is rolling on that project.

I’ll have to look and see if my stimulus check is in my account. My tax refunds are already back and in my account.

So with the right day this time and my itty bitty news reported, I’m signing off. Have a great day.

Good morning Sue and All who follow, Sue, happy to hear that you will get vaccinated soon. The President wants all adults vaccinated by May 1’st. Yay! I just checked my credit union account and the $1400 stimulus check has been deposited! I hope you all get yours that quickly. I’m going to use the money to get multifocal lens when I have cataract surgery. There is a bit of a backlog for surgery right now, and that’s okay with me. Peggy

Good morning everyone! It looks sunny out but still in 40's, so Mandy and I still have our toes under bed covers! My arm is a bit sore from vaccine 2, and I can feel my overall inflammation level is a bit up, but I'm overall fine at about 18 hours post dose 2. Dose 1, I couldn't even tell I got the shot! Had not planned anything much today, just in case I felt under the weather. Too early to tell what I might accomplish. Possible showers in next few days. We sure need more. Hope all have a good day. I haven't checked my bank account yet, but am really wondering how Congress plans to pay for all this.

Well, I got my expensive hair cut and she did a good job. However, I was there an hour and 15 minutes!! I filled out her required forms then she proceeds to tell me that she really wouldn't cut my hair without fully wetting it down. I thought that to be a bit unfair as she had indicated she would just spray it and cut. She said she was a professional and she felt to do her best job she had to do it that way. I really needed a hair cut and I was there so just went with it. Most of the time was spent with her entering information into her computer, and trying to push her product line. Every time she talked, she stopped cutting. She combed my hair so hard I asked if she could lighten up a bit and she said oh yes I know I have a really heavy hand. When she finished, she went back on the computer and again tried to sell me a shampoo and cream rinse and make another appointment. Then she said, I know I have a heavy had but that is just how I am and I can’t change. If you like I can recommended a couple of other stylist. I said thank you I would appreciate that. I was very polite, gave her a nice tip and told her ways to find a good Standard Poodle and offered to do hypnosis/reiki for her at no charge as she expressed interest. I would never go to her again, my head still hurts!! In all I received 1 email and 5 automatic text reminding me of my appointment!
It's cloudy here but not too cold rain is supposed to hang around until mid week. Glad you didn't have much of a reaction to your shot Velda. Good to hear some have already received their stimulus check and vaccines are becoming more available. I'm going to have a glass of wine and a nap that hair cut experience wore me out!! Especially since it was one of my first outings.

Today's our cold spell of the week. Ok, prepared. But this morning, in the 30's it was lightly raining. Ty and I decided to wait that out. It stopped. I got all bundled up, we walked out, went a couple steps and light hail/sleet. I thought, ok we're out, we'll deal with it. Made it to the road and it came down harder and even Ty turned around. Half an hour later we tried again and I think Ty thought it was coming again, because that boy peed and pooped in record time lol. He really disliked the hail. We're now ensconced on the couch watching silly TV shows.

I now have a schedule pretty much till the end of the year. I haven't decided on next Jan through March yet. Decisions, decisions. Of course, I know something will change lol.

No deposit to my credit union account yet, but I will check again tomorrow. I have delayed filing my income tax because I had a big check for something and did not want it to affect my stimulus check. It will go towards getting a new awning and having my slide awnings replaced. Big awning is gone completely since I got caught in the wind storm a couple of weeks back, and slide awnings are badly frayed on the front edges. One of the slide awnings has a 6" tear from the Kansas storm from about three years ago. Cold and windy here today. Hazy this morning so I had to turn on my electric heater, but sun is out now, warming things up so I can turn it off.

Wrong day on forum reminded me of the cruise I took quite a few years ago on the Eastern Mediterranean. Inside the elevators, they had rug inserts that told us what day of the week it was! So one would say "Tuesday" for example.

I am due for second vaccine on the 31st. Talked to my son and DIL who had their shots in early January because their schools are open and son sees kids all day. DIL is principal of middle school with 800 kids, so she has contacts also. He said it took several hours for bad effects, so I am getting my shot at 1:30 and then hopping into motorhome and driving 120 miles to next campground so I can get settled before I get sick. Both son and DIL had slight fevers, aches, and headaches with second Moderna shot. Decided driving right after shot was better than staying night in Silver City and driving the next day possibly feeling lousy.

Good afternoon!

Peggy, that was fast! Nothing for me yet. BJ, what an experience! Reminds me of dental hygienists that can't talk and work at the same time. Beth, that hail and sleet can hurt! Sue, a post on FB this morning had me wondering why my phone hadn't changed time - then remembered it's only Saturday. :)

Still cold overnight but days in the 50s. I didn't expect so many clouds here so not helping me get motivated. Just can't shake it. Walked over to the apartment yesterday afternoon - hard hat tour so got to see actual apartment. After seeing studio apt. photos of gray and white decor, I was a little disappointed, but will love the space. They put in dark cabinets, parchment wall paint (almost looked peachy but may have been the light), 2nd window in corner (master) bedroom is 1/2 window up high. Not major, just wasn't what I was expecting. I asked about shepard's hook and was given the okay! From drawings, I couldn't see outside locked doors into the building, but they are there - big plus!

Must do something! Be well.

The weather was rotten all day so I didn't do much. I did go on the website where you can see the status of when your stimulus check should arrive and mine shows it should be deposited in my bank on the 17th. Cool.

Anita, I love that you could tour your new place in progress. Did you get to select any colors or finishes? And great news about being able to use the shepard's hook.

I have some money due me from a house I owned in the 1980's! It's not a gigantic amount but the hoops to get it are ridiculous. Even though they, a government agency, contacted me, proving I'm who I am isn't enough. They want copies of documents I don't have anymore. It's crazy. I'm using an attorney and paying (only if I get the money) and can't imagine why the attorney is bothering for the little bit he'll get, but hey, it's what they do. I have the new paperwork from HUD that came in the mail today, so after scratching my head for awhile, I put it aside to call the attorney Monday. It was a government mortgage and they underpaid when sold... But they want me to provide their paperwork lol

I'm glad to see the temps here will be back to 60 tomorrow with sun.

That is BS! I wouldn't offer her anything for free. And we spray down the hair for each cut unless someone wants a shampoo or they have too much product in their hair to get thru it with a comb without rinsing it out first.

There are places called Salon Suites that are one stylist businesses in the same building and each has their own room or suite there. You would probably have a much better experience at one of those and you can tell them ahead of time that you can't be around chemicals. Check it out.

Was fairly busy at work today. The new Great Clips shop is opening next weekend inside the Walmart not too far from where I live. My manager is being moved over there permanently and she is not happy about it. We will be getting a new manager who is from another shop. I guess she is pretty nice and easy to work with. I will really miss my current manager tho.

No stimulus check here yet. Hopefully soon.

The winds are really blowing here tonight. It is really loud out there with the wind blowing thru the palm trees. But for Monday they are predicting "damaging" winds all day! Up to 75 mph gusts! I don't work that day so will hunker down inside for the day. Still highs in the 60's. Will be up in the 80's by next weekend with less wind. Wind makes me nervous. I love a nice breeze but the really noisy high winds just put me on edge.

I need to change my clocks before I go to bed so I am not late for work tomorrow. My bathroom clock never got changed last fall so it will finally be right now.

I did a "Refused" "Return to Sender" on the canopy I got the other day (I never opened it), and it got brought to me again today! I guess I will have to do a return label for it and send it back that way.

Have a good night!

I was just on the bank website it's not there with my luck I won't get this one... I get a retirement check end of the month and then SS check this month they were really close together... and none of the normal stuff has gone out yet so it looks healthy but it won't later... :? oh well if I do I do it not I won't but think if I do I will get a new mattress and bedding!!! today I was telling myself that I want a new mattress and bedding (sheets, mattress pad) then I though no it's no longer a want it's a need!!! what will you all do with the new found money... although I am with you Velda wonder how it's going to be paid for...
there was something I was going to mention last night forgot and thought of it again it's gone again!!!
did laundry bed remade clothes put away went to eat spent more than I should have but so enjoyed it... got propane glad I did so as the tank was pickupable I have three tanks for the buddy 2 are 9 gal ones 1 is one of those typically used for bbq grills maybe 5 gals I use it as a back up for the 9 gal ones don't want to refill those as I don't want to carry that additional weight..so when I ran out the other day I went to the smallest tank got that filled today ...as well as one of those that fit in their own bay a 7 gal one... before I leave I plan on switching tanks and filling the other one... I would get to irritated in ID I guess some of the places think it's a state law that they can't pick up the tanks and put them into the back of the truck...say what I can't do it that is a lot of weight can barely get it out of the truck although when up there I don't have to so will just plan on taking someone with me who can lift it up...or go to the places that will
don't have to worry about time change here as AZ doesn't change time but then we become the same time as CA so I find it very confusing...heard that there are a couple of senators that want to have it be day light savings time across the nation... all year...
you all have a good day

Sheila, many states (including California) have already voted to keep DLS all the time. Congress has yet to approve it. I wish the whole country would go that way.

I checked for Salon Suites and there are none down here in the southern part of Illinois. The name of the stylist she gave me does work alone. I'm sure she used the excuse of her 'heavy hand' to recommend another stylist to me but I think it was because I didn't want my hair washed there using her products and that I didn't want to schedule another appointment. She was pushing making another appointment as she claimed to be booked through June. I don't think using a certain shampoo and cream rinse like she claimed was necessary for her haircuts to be up to her professional standard.

I'll second that, Barbie.

I have always hated DLS. It always takes me a couple of months to "adjust". By the time I am comfortable, it changes again!

BJ, unless there is a lot of product in someone's hair or it is very dirty, I can still give a great cut by just wetting the hair down with a spray bottle. She sounds very pushy and manipulative. Too bad I don't live closer to you!
