A good Sunshiny morning to you all. Beautiful spring weather pattern coming up this week.

Reading through yesterday’s posts was very interesting. Seems a few of you having BP issues. Velda, hope they get yours figured out. Anita, thanks for the clarification too.

The result of my eye appointment is that we are going to do surgery, remove that loose implant and then replace it with a new one. It will involve both of my two doctors, one of whom is a retina specialist and will take the old one out, and the other doc will put the new one in. Results of the eye exam I did yesterday showed I’m seeing a bit better with the old implant out of place, crazy as it seems, so am hoping a new one will make more improvement. It’s also going to require doing it at the hospital rather than the centers surgical center. I will still have to wear glasses cause of the lens needed for my left eye. That’s okay. Have worn thrm my whole life. I did have the option of just having the old lens taken out and go with the glasses instead of putting in a new implant but I decided that this would be the better way to go. I can’t see my retina doctor until April 5, so I think this is going to be dragging out into May. Will know better when I get a surgery date. I do have camping reservations for Memorial Day weekend, but I am thinking that I may cancel them. Those of you who have had cataract surgery know that there are some restrictions that go along with this as far as not being able to do some things for a while and of course the follow up appointments etc. My trailer is covered up and dewinterized, and that all needs to be taken care of plus putting back everything that was taken out for the winter and all that stuff. So those are things that I may not be able to get into for a while. Generally it is May before I can even get into or doing that. I have a reservations scattered throughout the summer so if I lose this one no big deal. If we continue to have a mild spring like we are having so far I might uncover it down the line, but I know darn well that winter has not had a lot hurrah yet. We shall see.

Annie, glad to hear you got your first shot. I am hoping mine comes along before long. Be nice if I could get it all out-of-the-way before my surgery. As I said yesterday I could have gotten the shot but I can’t be into places at once.

Not sure what’s on my agenda for today. I need to take a piece of glass for a picture frame back and exchange it for the right size because they gave me the wrong one. It’s a 50 mile drive down there but I had a beautiful day like today I like to do that kind of thing. Although I am kind of tired after all the running around and everything yesterday. Right wait until next week.

Good morning Sue and all who follow from sunny but cold CT. It’s supposed to be in the 60’s next week and I can’t wait.
I, too, see my Ophtalmologist next week to discuss cataract surgery. I think I am finally ready. I was gung-ho about ten years ago as I hate wearing glasses, but other medical issues came up requiring surgery and I just wanted to give my body a break. Nothing planned for today but that’s the norm. Enjoy your day. Peggy

I’m not having any fun, need to work on that. Found a chicken recipe that sounds interesting, posted the link. Sorry it’s the whole article. Anita, are you thinking color schemes, such fun. Every wall in my apartment is off white. I did make a statement wall that is painted green. I added a wall decal so it’s Shirl’s place. Be safe

Sue, thank you for the detailed information regarding your eye issues. I always find this kind of story interesting, and am always happy when a forum member is willing to share.

I have had cataract surgery in both of my eyes, many years ago now. Had "side effects" from the both surgeries (they were performed at different places and times, and by different surgeons) but with time (I had had really good night vision all of my life, after the surgery I had none - it took it about six months to a year to get it back, but eventually it was the same as before) the problems resolved. I, too, have worn glasses all of my life, wearing glasses doesn't bother me at all - except when I can't find them!!).

The only "reaction" I had to the first vaccine was dizzyness/woosiness which started about 1/2 hour after the injection, plus cold chills (like I was about to get a very bad cold) most of the rest of the day when I was awake - I got the shot about 10:00 a.m., fell asleep (off and on) from about 11:00 till 6:00 p.m. (with the blankets piled on - I was cold!) had some dinner, back to bed about 8:00 p.m., slept all night.

By the next morning I felt fine, except for a very slightly sore arm.

It looks like it's going to be a nice day. At least the sun is out.

I started wearing glasses in my 40's when my arms weren't long enough to read things. I probably could have stopped when I had cataract surgery if I had chosen different lenses. My eyes are sensitive to bright light and I had gotten use to wearing the glasses that get darker outside. I tried to find sun glasses but never could find any that I liked. I am bad about going to sleep with them on and end up breaking them. The frames I have now must be really tough, they just bend and I have to go get them straighten.

Last night I though my TV was going out because it kept going off. I was trying to figure out how I was going to find a TV that would fit the stand that is attached to a table. Then it started going off and on when Stinky would scratch. She was laying on the remote.

No big plans for today. Trying to decide whether to go get the groceries I need for camping today or tomorrow. If I don't get a list started I will probably be going today and tomorrow. I need to clean out the car. I'm going to see if my neighbor will follow me to the campground so I can have my car. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I will be at the local state park with RVW members. Thursday I'm going to another campground with the Louisiana group.

Martha, thank you. I laughed out loud about Stinky turning the TV on and off. I'm glad you figured it out though.

I've been wearing glasses or contacts since, I think, 5th grade. I loved contacts but because I was diagnosed with dry eyes a long time ago, it was suggested I wear them no more. Still no cataracts but I'm sure that day will come. Sue, good luck with that replacement. And Peggy with your decision.

Morning is almost over here and Ty hasn't even had his morning walk. I was up at 8 and talked myself into going back to bed. Ha, and here is how the day gets wasted so easily. My plans for the weekend are only to get all my pictures cleaned, the couple that need framing framed and all ready to be hung. Oh, and do laundry. Time to get our desert walk in.

I've worn glasses since 6th grade, but I really needed them several years earlier. Neither of my parents or hardly anyone in my extended family wore glasses, so I guess they just thought I was a bit strange when I used to take binoculars to drive-in movies! I used to want to sit in the front row at movie theaters, driving my friends nuts, no doubt. I was never able to catch anything tossed to me, so sports with balls were completely out of the question. And in fact, I still cannot catch anything thrown to me! It was not until my 6th grade teacher put me in the back row that the school figured out I could not see anything.

I have two pairs of the very lightweight, metal, bendable frames that I have been using for 15 years--just get new lenses put in. I tried to make do with just reading glasses after my cataract surgery, but it was a pain to keep taking them off and putting them on. While driving, I could not read my GPS or a map, and the bright sun bothered my eyes, so I had lenses made that darkened in the sun. They have a tiny bit of prescription for astigmatism in the top and reading lenses in the bottom. Now, I can just wear them all the time and can read my cell phone and the computer comfortably, except I probably will get a slightly stronger reading lens next time.

It is a 30 mile drive to a dump station, so i have really been rationing water use. So far, it has been 4 days, and I am going to go for another day because I am leaving and driving past the dump station tomorrow. Even been taking very short showers each night.

And just a little soreness now in my vaccinated arm.

I got my first glasses in 6th grade. Eventually, I didn't need to wear them full time, but there came the time when my daughter asked if she should read the menu for me because I didn't have my glasses with me. Now I can do that for her! No cataracts here - maybe I dodged that bullet.

The sun is out though clouds are just beyond the mountains. Now that it's warmer in the mornings, I have got to start getting up a bit earlier! With warmth and sun, I think I can get motivated! Today will finally be cleaning up the Sling - too cloudy and chilly yesterday.

Shirl, I hadn't thought about decals! Thanks for the idea. In a photo, it looks like walls are very light gray. We always had oak furniture, but I picked out what looks like white washed country so will find ways to add color. Saw movie with a farm kitchen table that had wood grain top but was dark turquoise otherwise. Yes, I found one online. There will be many shades of turquoise throughout.

Sue, glad there is a plan in place. I worked for an ophthalmologist before the girls were born. How things have changed since then for cataract surgery!

I wasn't at all happy when I thought my TV was going out. It stays on most of the time so thought it was done. I even put the Directv remote in a drawer to see if maybe it was doing it.

I decided to wash the dog bed and that has been going on for 2 hours. I hate that new washing machine. If a load is out of balance it will start filling up again if I'm not standing there to stop it. I can't just put it on spin.

Since there’s some talk of pain color. This is what I just put In my living room and bedroom. It’s called Toasted Almond. It has just a touch of a bronze undertone. It’s a PPG color from Hone Depot.




This is in my bathroom, but the lighting tends to wash it out a bit. The paint is called Buckram Binding. It’s a Sherwin Williams color.


Here is the Toasted Almond in my bedroom. Different light, different look. I need to get a bed skirt yet. Still a work in progress.

Was a long busy day today! After I got back from lunch, I had about 7 requests lined up for me! Got a lot of $10 tips today, almost $100 total for the day so that was good. I am very tired tonight.

I am noticing a lot less pain in my shoulder lately. Exercises must be working!

It is really windy tonight! Just started up after I got home.

Everyone is on edge here with the coyote that moved in. I heard she has moved closer to where I live in the park. I saw Spooky last night and the dark tabby but not any others. They must be keeping a low profile. I hope they are alright. Haven't seen or heard any cats tonight yet. I don't leave out any food after dark now. The food I left out this morning was mostly gone when I got home so someone was here. I have a gate on my deck that I might start closing. The kitties can squeeze thru it but not big enough for a coyote unless it jumped over the gate from the steps. Being very pregnant, not sure if she would do that. Will just have to hope for the best until the coyote is relocated or leaves on her own.

Got my patio table and canopy today. I need to make sure it is OK to put up the canopy before I open the box. Also, I saw another one I like better that costs more but might be a better fit for that spot. Will figure it out this week.

Martha, I was reading your post about your TV while I was watching a paranormal show. Immediately thought poltergeist!

Sue, those colors look nice! I really like the warm tan, beige, etc colors, rather than the cool gray colors they are putting in new and remodeled homes now.

I got done just what I expected.... and that is good... went to Walmart thought to check with my friend to see if she needed anything she did... need to go through and figure out how much of my expensive trip was hers ...
did get some bird seed figured that way won't run out and if I still have some it will weigh down the bin when going home..
and my series of books was there ... yea!!! bought a book the other day found out it was #2 still stand a lone but makes you wonder what the other books contained... called the library they didn't have it think I will look for 1 and 3 and then make sure the library gets all three... but they may just get the #2 first
my dd had called but I was driving so after I got fridge stuff put away tried calling she didn't answer but did a bit ago so had a good visit until they got somewhere that we lost reception... they had gone over to see my mom which is really nice of them...
still need to do the cataract thing sometime after I get home..
even got a 45 min nap...

Today was tree removal day here. Sean (handyman) and crew were here at 10:30 to begin removal of the 4 eucalyptus that are so messy and drop limbs. One was dead, it went first, all 40+ feet of it. Next was slightly shorter. Then tomorrow the ugly huge misshapen one out front and last will be the more than 80 ft tall one. Mel loved them, I am so tired of the mess and now it's my decision.
Was a nice day after quarter inch rain overnight.
Kitchen sink drain proved more problematic than expected, so we got JimBoys take out for supper. Yummy taco salad, double meat and cheese, no shell or beans.
I feel pretty good today. Been following directions on RX and on only taking BP twice daily. So good to feel better and top 5000 steps again! And to be out in the sun.
Barbara, a coyote can easily jump a six foot wall or fence! I follow a channel called Weed Em and Reap and they have a video last year of one jumping their 6 ft wall and chasing and killing several chickens. They just got a farm dog to protect their goats and other critters.
My cataract surgery was a breeze. I had unrecognized corneal scars that we're fixed later. Often I go days without out picking up readers anddo so only for tiny print and that's only if light isn't adequate because these multifocals need more light to get image to retina. I marveled today as I stood on deck and studied the detail of a tiny bird across the yard in a tree, still amazed over a year after getting these IOLs after being so near sighted amd such bad astigmatism wearing heavy glasses since I was 2, so about 68 years. I am happy to occasionally grab readers if light is dim in evening to be glasses free 99% of time.
