Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Postby Shirlv » Tue Mar 02, 2021 10:41 am

Morning All, cold and sunny this morning. Starting next weeks temps will be in high 40’s-50’s, can’t wait. :) The older I have gotten the more adjustments I’ve made. Loved sporty cars and shifting gears. A few years sitting in bay bridge traffic for hours and manual transmission not much fun. Getting in and out of a sports car gets more difficult too. Bought a Rava suv and loved it, fold down seats and a mini pickup. Moved to apartment bought subaru suv, needed better visuals and easy to get in and out. This will be my last unless there is a car that will drive it’s self on my command and I still know where I want to go. :D Be safe

Shirl, you're funny. I think our only option is going to be the old folks bus going to Walmart. I don't think they are going to come get me 10 miles out of town.

Anita, if you didn't live so far away I would give you the Mazda convertible that came with my motorhome. I don't think it's easy or comfortable to drive. I need to put it on the Facebook Market but I just don't want to deal with the people. I really like my Honda CRV. I bought it because I was going to get it fixed to tow but still haven't decided to. I don't know if I should put the money into the 2013 or get a newer car. The new Hondas can't be towed. No more than I travel now I probably don't need a tow vehicle.

Yesterday was not a good day to go to town. Two people tried to run me off the road. Some guy in a big truck pulled out of a side road and came into my lane and an 18-Wheeler was coming into my lane and I had to dodge him. I got my new smoke alarms and got them put up without falling off the ladder. While I was wandering around Lowe's I found 2 brackets I can use to keep the curtain rod from falling in the camper. I managed to get it screwed back in but the first bump in the road it is going to come down again if I don't fix it. Lowe's didn't have the faucet I needed. They might have it at Tractor Supply but I didn't feel like driving over there.

Yesterday when it was warm I put up my Hummingbird feeder. The cold front came through while I was in town and the temperature dropped from 85 to 65. It's only 51 today and that might be as warm as it's going to get. I moved the reminder for my meeting tonight from my desk to the kitchen so hopefully I won't forget it.

Morning Shirl and all who follow. I can imagine your excitement over those spring temps on your way! I wouldn't be surprised that cars driven on command will be available probably still in our lifetimes. Remember the old joke about getting up from driving RV's to go to the bathroom? I loved the Jetsons way back when, and it's closer and closer to our lives all the time.

Mid 70’s today and low winds predicted. Yay. I have a Walmart pickup then maybe Ty and I will sit on our back porch and enjoy this sunny afternoon.

Martha, you snuck in. Have a great day! And good luck selling that Mazda. I would have jumped on that a few years ago.

Good morning, sun is shining again and we are going to be 65 this Thursday. Only 64 today ha ha. I have someone coming today to give me a price on taking out the arborvitae and juniper bushes in my front yard. 2 of my least favorite plants. I would have done it but we have no place to dispose of the debris here and I no longer have a chain saw so this sound like it might be a reasonable option.

Laundry today, then going to try and put my new file cabinet together. So far it was just a pile of firewood as they didnt include any directions. But I have the directions now so just lacking the motivation. I will attempt it but if I am too confused will wait until Laura gets here. She put hers together and she is pretty darn smart and handy when it comes to this stuff. AND she is coming to visit in a couple weeks YIPPEE

Shirl that is why I no longer have a sports car or small economy car, difficulty getting in and out and I like sitting up higher so I have an SUV also. I dont want a car that drives itself, LOL, I am way too much of a control freak to not be in control of my car LOL

Martha, sounds like it is time to buy a lottery ticket. You seemed to have dodged a couple of bullets yesterday. Glad Spring and warmer temps are on their way (at least for this week for me). A little less than 2 weeks and we start Daylight savings time. March 14th yippee

Good Morning!

It's another beautiful day! I sat outside to soak up some sun yesterday. Unfortunately, that was after I got the Sling stuck. Ground is so mushy and the back tire is picky. I barely gave it gas knowing that. Kids will pick up some gravel.

Martha, if I still wanted a convertible, I'd fly down and buy yours! That Mazda was on my list, but not getting one with the winters here. BJ, I wanted the Jeep for unpaved roads and removable top for sightseeing (Sling has me spoiled). Thanks for all the comments on what you drive! Steven always stayed up on cars so I'm having to do a lot of research this time.

I've done my taxes online for several years. One year the numbers somehow got changed when forms were sent to IRS. Woman at IRS had me send a hard copy, and everything was corrected. Weird. This year I nearly overlooked the charitable donation deduction when using standard deduction.

Today is vaccination day so I best get a move on.

Be well!

Good afternoon ladies!

I, too, love sports cars and sold my Mercedes convertible 2 seater just this past summer. I loved it but it was definitely not the most comfortable vehicle we've had. Steve's Chevy Silverado is now our main vehicle and the Ford Focus is our backup vehicle, plus it can be towed 4 wheels down.
they were originally.
The tile guy was here today but did mostly measuring and marking, so no floor pictures today. The granite counter and bar sink were installed today also, so pictures follow. Hopefully the pictures will show the light green walls we have and not the white they were originally.

Forgot to post yesterday. It’s been beautiful here weather wise. I am back to doing the water jogging. Love spring, and looking forward to DST.

Irmi, very nice!

I'm thinking 'rabbits' didn't work this month. :) Not major just annoying.

Monica and I got our shots - Moderna. Worst part was paperwork and more paperwork. :) I was waiting after my shot while Monica was getting hers. A man walked in and I didn't pay any attention. He said, 'Hello, Anita' - think Monica about fell off her chair because I know no one here. It was the host from the rv park at the fairgrounds where I spent the summer and will go back April 1. Then Monica's supervisor came in. Ah, small town.

It was good to get out and talk with people, share some smiles (even if they were 'eye' smiles).

Got up for golf this morning. Another beautiful day in paradise! Cool with a nice light breeze. :D I played pretty good, good enough to beat everyone and will get a little money next week!

Got my bedroom and bathroom cleaned up this morning. Then went to Walmart for paper towels that I ran out of. Picked up two outdoor folding chairs (teal of course!). I currently have a tiny table and two metal chairs on the front patio. I want to use that area for eating and doing my gourd burning and carving so I need a little larger table so the chairs are for that. Also am ordering a 5 x 5 canopy to put over the table in front of the shed for nice shade when I am working or eating there. That will make that area more functional. Will sell the small table and chairs that are there now.

I put up the last piece of lattice on the deck. I need to get off my butt now and start cleaning up the kitchen and dishes. Might frost my hair tonight too.

Have a good day! (I also can't wait until DST!!)

Incredibly good news!!! I had to drive 30 miles to dump my tanks today. After I was done, I was at the gas station and got a text message saying that they had vaccine for me, so I quickly clicked on the link and put in my code, added my birthday, and picked the first one available--tomorrow at 1:30 pm!

I had registered with the State of New Mexico about a month ago, and they have periodically sent me notes saying no vaccine, but they had me on their list. I had picked Silver City and put this campground down as my mailing address, but I figured it would be a miracle if they scheduled me while I was here. Don't know what brand of vaccine, but I will take anything!!!

Came back to my electric campsite and could not get it to work, but ranger was gone for the day, and i have no idea where the camp hosts are. Hope I have enough propane to last the night. I will head to Silver City early tomorrow and get a propane fill and a few groceries. Fried myself a couple of eggs because I could not use my microwave to heat the soup i made yesterday. Left a message at the campground office and hope it either gets fixed or I can move to another electric site tomorrow.

So, how long does it take for your arm to get sore from the vaccine????

Judy, my arm started hurting the evening of shot. I took Advil Still hurting next day, more Advil but didn’t notice because I took two long naps, was very tired. :) Third day, I was good. Think it is a good idea to have an easy day after shot.

Irmi, casita looking good, really like the colors

Judy, my muscle just felt like it got punched and bruised. It didn't bother me at all unless I moved it or pressed on it. And, amazingly, I was able to sleep on that side. But if you sleep on your side, I recommend you pick the opposite arm for the vaccine.

Just before I left for my Walmart pickup, the guys doing the work on my porch roof came. I was only gone about 1 1/2 hours or so and they were finishing up within a half hour of my getting home. Luckily they found no damage underneath which is really good.

Judy, I got the Pfizer vaccine and my arm started to be sore that night. It only hurt if I raised my arm over my head. If I didn't move, it didn't hurt. It hurt like that for about 2 days.

My next shot is March 19. I have reservations at a state park for a Sisters on the Fly campout in North Louisiana for the 18th. I called to see if I could change the date of my shot but I would have had to put it off for a week and I didn't want to do that. I will just go in the morning and go to the campout. I think I can make it in 5 hours. Just hope the second shot doesn't make me sick.

I got so mad at reserve america that I wanted to tell the woman something, like learn how to do your job. I had already been through the same song and dance with another woman and got transfer to the second one. I wanted to cancel the Thursday and add Monday to my reservation. She kept wanting to put me in another site because she couldn't access the site I reserved. Duh, I have it reserved. I finally told her never mind. I'll just call the park on Thursday and tell them I won't be there until Friday.

I made it to my meeting and we had pizza. I seldom ever order pizza so now I have had my pizza fix for a while. I picked up a margarita and have half of it in the refrigerator.

Just found out today that there is a female pregnant coyote who has decided to make a den in the park here. I noticed this past week that the stray kitties are out during the day now and not so much at night. I guess no one is allowed to try and remove the coyote (per animal control). I think I will only put food out during the day now for the cats to keep them safer.

There was an awful accident near the Mexican border this morning. There was a Ford Expedition that had 25 (yes, that is 25!) Mexicans crammed inside it and it pulled out onto a highway right in front of a semi and was hit broadside. 13 people were killed at the scene. It was either Mexican farm workers that were being brought from the border to work in the fields for the day, or a smuggling operation. All the back seats had been removed from the SUV so there were no seats or seat belts for anyone other than the driver and front passenger. Such a tragic thing. :(

Better news. I got most of the kitchen cleaned up before I ran out of energy for the day. Didn't feel like frosting my hair either. Got my schedule for next week and I have 4 days off! Good to have the time to get caught up on stuff but I need a few more hours than that for a decent paycheck. I am sure that won't be a regular thing tho.

The zoo here always has a holiday display of lights for Christmas. This year they got it all set up and then the shut-down happened the day before it opened. So now they decided to turn it into a Spring Festival of Lights in March. I ordered a ticket to go see it. Should be really good. I went one year for the Christmas one and it was very cool!

I have another PT session tomorrow afternoon.
