Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good morning all. Spring is blooming out all over here in Florida. Container garden is started...will add pictures in General thread today. Weather has been beautiful and it's fun to be outside again.

On Friday, a friend and I took our new bikes to Branford where there is a nice biking trail. We rode from the Suwannee River to Little River Springs and back. It's a paved, rails-to-trails straight and shady. The Suwannee River is high and flooding in some places. Little River Spring is flooded and the park closed, but we walked in and got a couple pictures.

Speaking of the Suwannee River....it is flooding at Dowling Park too, so yesterday we were able to paddle our boats on the Red hiking trail. Tina will remember doing that a couple years ago, so this picture is for her.

That's my news of the day...off to watch church service on TV2.

Good morning Everybody from rainy CT. Liz, I just love your garden. There is something very therapeutic about working in the soil. I have snowdrops and crocuses blooming on the south side. Still patches of snow on the ground and we are bound to get more in March.
I’m adding my tale of woe to the aging story. Acid reflux was taking the enamel of my teeth. That’s how it started. Dentist recommended a gastrologist. He did an endoscopy and prescribed two medicines; one an antibiotic for ten days. Okay, started the medicine and feeling a little nausea, but nothing I couldn’t tolerate. Friday, I had my second vaccine shot
Saturday my arm was sore and I felt cold all day, but I took the antibiotic as directed and then the vomiting started. My stomach said enough....felt miserable all day. Feel better today and am able to eat. I will start the antibiotics again tomorrow and see how it goes. Such is life. Peggy

Liz, I recognized the Red Trail when I saw your post on FB, too! The water level makes for a different sort of paddle down mysterious ways....

Peggy, I think of it as all the ways our bodies can fall apart and all the ways that our medications can mess us up till we don't always know what causes what.... Stay strong or roll up in a fetal position till this to shall pass and you can get on with being healthy again.

Morning All, Peggy, do not resume the medication until you call your doctor about the antibiotics vomiting side effect. Liz, thanks for your container garden pictures. It’s a rainy day on the shore. The walk to the dumpster yesterday didn’t help my mood so need to crack the car window, turn up the music and take a ride in the rain. Maybe a sundae at the local Dairy Queen. Be safe

No rain here, but high in 50's today with a high fire danger. That means the winds are on the way again. So I think I need to get moving and get a good walk in first.

Peggy, watch the signs and, yes, inform your doctor before restarting the meds. Liz, I love all your pictures and all your energy. Please send me some of that energy! Velda, you've scared me re your blood pressure. I hope it's down today. Shirl you put a smile on my face thinking of loud music and windows down, wind in my hair. Yes, good memories and maybe I should also make some new ones doing the same.

My BP is still way higher than it should be, but a lot lower than Friday afternoon. Trying to rest and relax. Church is 11:30, so will watch that from my bed. My son is doing many of my chores which helps. Hoping soon to get back to my Bowen therapist to work on my neck, which is interfering with my sleep. Yet to find a pillow of any type that I don't end up with neck pain by about 5-6 hours into sleeping.
Sun is shining. Rain by end of week is an iffy proposition, at best, but hopefully it actually happens as we need it and snow in mountains.
Cats got into a sisterly spat this morning so I have Mandy here in bedroom with me and her sister is relegated to living room and Chris gave her her morning chicken leg to work on. Mandy loves the sun falling on the treadmill for her morning sun bath.
Can't believe February is almost over. What a strange 12 months it's been. Happily will roll up my sleeve again in two weeks for second vaccine, though it won't change my mask and hand washing routine, it will boost confidence a bit. And sure hope CA opens up vaccine lines for adults with disabilities soon. I'll feel even better once Chris is vaccinated.
Hope both of us can get in to actually see our DR this week or soon. I'll continue Curves as usual. I do want to see if Dr can pin down root cause of my BP issues. Most people's BP comes down and stabilizes with exercise, mine has been crazy up and down , way down with exercise, up rest of day.
I think rv roof has leaked again into cab area ( all metal original Mercedes roof) so my friend is planning to take a look soon to see if another seal around a penetration has failed again. She did the seals in 2018 or early 2019 for me. So nice to have a friend who had a career in a RV store/shop!
I'm not doing any gardening at all. I eat almost no plants and Chris will only eat iceberg lettuce (part of his disability related food issues), so no point wasting energy on garden. And I do need to trim roses and citrus. Not having handyman Sean here has been a big handicap. I keep hoping he will return soon.
Hope we all have a good week.

Liz, I saw your pictures on FB and the river is really high. Wish I was closer so you could motivate me to walk more. If I had someone to walk with I would walk to the end of the road but I'm not doing that by myself anymore.

I was digging in the freezer looking for something to cook. There isn't much left but already cooked stuff and frozen dinners. I took some roast with gravy and red beans with sausage out for lunch. I don't have any steaks left. Hopefully I can go to Sam's on Thursday when I go to Lafayette.

Peggy, hope you get to feeling better. Thirty years ago I had acid reflux all the time. I had bottles of Pepcid everywhere. We were eating out a lot at work and then I would come home and cook for the family. I finally kind of learned what not to eat. Now about the only time I have trouble is when I'm camping and we all go out to eat at night. My will power is weak. lol

My arm isn't sore today. I hope the second shot doesn't make me sick.

The wind is worse today. It will kind of die down and then have big gusts. I put the trash in the burn bin but didn't light it. They were working on the calves and there were a bunch of trucks in the yard. I didn't want to set someone's truck on fire.

Really nice day here right now. Sun is shining and supposed to get up to 60. I want the nice spring weather with only occasional rain LOL I am kind of sick of the rain but if we have a few days like this in between I am good with that. Went to Home Depot today, put it off long enough LOL Took my blind back, got paint supplies and primer. I am still spackling, but need to make sure it is good and dry before I put the primer on. I am doing my gues bathroom first. Should do my walk in closet that nobody sees first but hey, I like living on the edge LOL

This weather makes me want to get out in the yard but I dont have any yard tools yet LOL good excuse. I will get some in increments because they surely are not cheap. I need a blower, and a hedge trimmer, and some nippers, rake, shovel, oh the list goes on. I do want to plant a few tomato plants this year and have a good spot for them so we shall see. Then I will need tomato plant stands ha ha ha

Velda hope you get that BP under control. I am lucky I have really low BP and heart rate......so far.
My arm is still sore but getting better. No redness or anything just the muscle where I got the shot.

I lost some weight right after the fires but have gained back a few pounds. I know it is from those darn Covid calories. I want to start walking the dog again and if we get some nice weather for more than a day I think I will do that.

Really cold here at City of Rocks SP in New Mexico. Says it is 59, but cold wind makes it seem really colder and supposed to go down to 2 tonight. When I was filling my water tank for the night, i almost got my winter gloves out! Supposed to be colder tomorrow, but warming up on Tuesday. So tomorrow will be indoors working on projects and grading stuff.

My mother had weird blood pressure for the last 25 years of her life. It would shoot up, and she would take blood pressure meds, and then it would drop down to the point where she would be dizzy and almost pass out. You need to keep taking your blood pressure a couple of times a day because the low blood pressure can be as bad as the high blood pressure.

But, I am so glad it is sunny here! I remember the winter I spent in Eugene and felt like I was growing moss on me after three straight months of rain! However, spring will be here soon, hopefully!!

The weekend sure went by fast!

I've been working on my taxes all day. Decided to try out one of the free online tax solutions. I don't typically like to have any of my financial stuff in the cloud (online) but decided to just use one to rough it out a bit & was really impressed with their security. I found a flaw in an obsure situation, contacted them about it & they had it fixed the very next day! Very impressive. Of course, I didn't trust them totally so I used my copy of last year's Turbo Tax to enter everything for this year & was happy to see they both got similar results. Printed everything off, will review it over the next couple of days & then submit it online. Woohoo!!! Next year will be soooo easy without having to file in KS & CA! Plus CA doesn't tax Social Security - looks like the move out here has more benefits than just beautiful winters.

Heard from DD in Paris. She has sent pics of their meals at home - they're eating so healthy & she said it is all very inexpensive compared to here. Much fresher & they're able to buy just what they need rather than stocking up like I tend to do. Seems she is adjusting fine - she even went out by herself & someone asked her directions using the metro (bus & subway system) & she was able to help them - really boosted her confidence about her language skills. Can't wait until I can go visit.

Tina, glad to hear you're feeling better. Velda, hope your BP evens out. Love the pics of the gardens, Liz & Annie. My jasmine has been blooming like crazy for the past month or so. I've joined the ''weight-up' club also. Actually got it down a few months ago by excluding sugar, but fell off that wagon & now need to climb back on it. Really felt & slept much better without it. Need to elimiate it from my house & get in shape for visitng DD. Easier said than done...

That's about it... need to get set up for my little buddy.
Stay safe!

Catherine, the online service I use saves me a ton of time. And I did it late at night one night last week and 3 days later the IRS website shows my return is accepted and the refund should be in my bank this week for federal. That short time I worked in California I owe, less than $10, so I scheduled that for them to take the money in a month. Lol, I figure I won't give them money early.

I'm hoping to remember Rabbits first thing tomorrow.

Geez almost forgot what day it was posted in Saturdays.....but realized it so moved it over here.

Had a good day today. I found someone on our local Marketplace that said they would haul away my old railroad ties in my yard that were as stupid as I have ever seen. They served no purpose other than for me to trip over them. I have no idea why they even put them there. (and they dont charge they do it free)

Picture of the Big Old Heavy railroad ties in my back yard.

Image

So I give them my address and I suspect a pickup to pull up......oh heck no. They pull up in a Ford Focus (that had seen better days), open the hatchback and start loading these big ole heavy RR ties. There were 11 of the big ones and 10 of the shorter ones that were held in place by rebar. Well, they had to make 2 trips and I thought maybe I wouldnt see them again after the first trip LOL But they came back, it was a skinny guy and a gal but they got em loaded. I gave them $50 it was so worth it to me. They were happy, said I didn't have to give them anything. Hey you are out working you deserve to be paid so they took it

Good evening gals!

Was a slow day at work today but a short day too so that was nice. One more work day and then 3 off! Yay!

I have always had low blood pressure. It is typically 90 over 50. Last time it was checked, it was up a little but still on the lower end at 100 over 60. I used to pass out when I was young, especially in the mornings if I stood up too fast.

Right after I posted last night that the winds had died down, they started up again and got very strong gusts most of the night. Some areas around Los Angeles got gusts up over 80 mph!! :o Large trees down and a brush fire in Malibu.

I hope I remember to say "Rabbits" in the morning since I will probably be in bed by 10pm tonight.

Have any of you seen "Nomadland" movie? I heard on FB some good things about it.

Karen, is that strip of land in that photo all part of your lot? You can do some nice gardens and/or landscaping along there, if it is.
