Morning All, another Ho hum day. Nothing exciting, household chores, take a walk. Hip is feeling good so back to doing exercises to prevent muscle spasms. I downloaded a couple of library books to the kindle so might drive to a small public landing, read, watch the River flow by and think great thoughts. :) Be safe

Good morning. Some of you may remember my saying that I was supposed to get eye surgery today to relocate my dislocated implant. Over the course of this week the implant has moved. So this morning after I got over to the eye care place and they got my prep for surgery, the doctor came in and I explained to him what was going on.I can actually see the implant floating above my eye if I look straight up but my vision is totally clear. So he looked in my eye to see what was going on and said that the implant has fallen into the back of my eye. So he said no surgery for now because he needs to reevaluate. As long as it’s not bothering me I can get by with my glasses for now. Said it was good that my vision is clear. So they are supposed to call me in about a week or two and let me know where we’re going from here. So I shall just wait. No biggie. No restrictions etc.

I see some of you were talking about container gardening and flowers coming up at all that nice spring stuff. We have been having mild temperatures here too and had quite a bit of melting on Monday. It’s supposed to be really nice tomorrow too and next week as well. I have the stuff done in my house that I wanted to do other than repaint my one bedroom but I’m not in a hurry to do that. I think it’s time to do some craft projects for a change and maybe even take a little ride one day.

I have put myself onto waiting list for the Covid vaccine. But I figure it will be a little while before I hear it because they are still catching up to people who registered back in January and there isn’t really any vaccine available right now. Pfizer which is based in Michigan has said that they are producing 5 million doses a week and within a week they are hoping to increase it to 10 million, 200 million by May at 300 million by July. So they will be steadily increasing as time goes on here. I’ve gone this far so what’s a few more weeks. I am in my little bubble too but I am out and about just being careful. Most of my activities are grocery shopping and occasionally eat it out at one of the two restaurants here that I tend to favor because I know they are extremely clean and take very good care of customers. When I’m out walking the dogs it’s just them and I. I don’t wear my mask when I’m out walking, but do when I’m in the store or the restaurant or a business. Otherwise I’ve got plenty of fresh air moving around me. It also helps living in the cou try and being a low season for tourism. This county has only had slightly over 1000 cases in the past year. So I feel very safe.

Tina, I’m glad to see that you were out and about. Hope you had a good trip picking up the pups and I’m sure were happy to see you. Shirl, resting M & C after it’s been frozen is about 7 minutes but you could take it ut and let it that, then reheat. Won’t take as long. I’m fortunate in that my micr has a reheat sensor setting, si I can just use that. All this talk g of food is making me hungry. , so guess I will go fix lunch. Have a great dsy all.

Good morning gals!

Am just getting ready to leave for my PT appointment for my shoulder, which is really bothering me this morning. Hope I can get some relief soon!

I was supposed to have the day off today but my manager texted me last night asking if I could work for her today because she has a migraine. I told her I wouldn't be able to come in until around 1pm and she said that was fine. I really had quite a lot to do today around here tho.

It is super windy today!!  Up to 60 mph gusts! Started last night and will continue thru today before settling down again. It has been warm this week, in the mid 80's.

Here is the gourd I made on Tuesday...

I got my first shot this morning and treated myself to a McDonald's sausage biscuit. I didn't even feel it and so far so good. They ask us to sit in the hall for 10 minuets. I had to laugh with the guy sitting across from me. He called someone and told them he got his implant. I told him that I thought that someone should keep up with me. He said that he didn't want the government to lose him since they send him a check every month.

The temperature is already up to 76 and the sun is out. Probably going to be an 80 degree day. It's hard to believe that about a week ago we were freezing.

Barbie, your gourd is really pretty. I like the colors. Hope the wind you are having doesn't make it over here.

Had an exciting morning so far, and did a really dumb thing. OK. First, got up at 5:45 am to try to get camp site in Florida. Missed the one I was trying for, but found another at another state park, so paid for it and went back to bed.

It has been really windy here, but it looked better if I could get to Kingman. I am in Laughlin and that is only 30 miles and then would head to Winslow, AZ. Anyway, packed up and headed out, but as I got out of town, headed up the slope of the mountain and stopped for gas. Then realized there was a big flapping noise and my awning had torn!! Luckily, I have used velcro strapping to keep the arms tied down for my manual awning, so only the fabric was torn and flapping in the wind. Decided if the awning had torn it was much too windy for me to drive, so I headed back to campground, got my old spot I had just left back, and got set up again. Wind is supposed to be much calmer tomorrow, so I will leave then.

Anyway, just called CoachNet and they will send someone out. They will pay for the mobile mechanic because it happened while I drove and I will have to pay him for time spent cutting awning off so I can drive.

So, I am safely settled with the TV on waiting for a call to tell me when he will come. Going to heat up a bagel and put some blueberry cream cheese on it. By the way, I was looking at a small cake a couple of weeks ago at Albertsons. I asked a couple of questions of the bakery lady, and she told me the cake used vegetarian cream cheese. How can you have vegetarian cream cheese?? After that, the cake did not look very good so I passed on it. When I shop I try very hard to get things that don't have a lot of preservatives and fake things in them, so the cream cheese I have is real stuff with real blueberries.

Good morning, Martha and all who follow.

There are two things that I love at McDonald's. Sausage & egg biscuit and chicken fingers (LOL - hamburgers and fries not so much). When I stayed in West Yellowstone a couple of years ago while visiting the park, I was somewhat aghast at the prices at all of the local restaurant's there (one of my regrets is that I never got around to having a bison t-bone steak while there). That is, until I discovered a McDonald's near the entrance to the park.

Boy, was that placed mobbed at all hours of the day and night. Worth waiting in line, though. I had a sausage and egg biscuit for breakfast and chicken fingers for lunch almost every day. Cheap, tasty and quick.

Yum.

I would probably like vegetarian cream cheese as would my stomach. My smoothies now are all vegetarian and I don't feel sick after them like I can with dairy ones. But I admit for those who love dairy, it would be different. And I cheat. I have ice cream in the freezer right now, and real cream cheese, too.

I also got my vaccine today and the 2nd one was automatically scheduled for next month. Yay. I'm laughing about the man across from you getting chipped, Martha.

I can't remember the last time I went to McDonald's. But I do occasionally stop at Taco Bell. If my appt this morning had been a little later I might have headed to the local one for lunch.

Judy, my first year RVing, one of my awning arms broke and was very scary... On I5 near Portland. My service guy that came out said it was his first time taping an awning and arm to an RV roof. I was super lucky it didn't do damage to my rig it cause an accident. And glad I had roadside service. I think you're smart getting off the road until tomorrow.

Sue, I'm really glad that implant isn't causing you problems, but I'd think they'd still want to fix it. Keep us apprised.

I got my second COVID vaccine today. Yippee! Headed over to Taco Bell for my very favorite “Crunchwrap” to celebrate. I don’t go there too often, but decided today I can celebrate. Hopefully in not too long we all will be fully vaccinated. I don’t think much will change in my life due to completing the vaccine. Those variants kind of bother me, so I’ll remain very careful.

Love your gourd Barbie!

Everyone stay safe.

Glad so many of you are getting your vaccine, but unfortunately, I will be like Anne and have to wait a while.

Update on Awning: Guy came but with short ladder, but he and i managed to open it up and he cut off the fabric in a couple of chunks. Tricky part is that you had to lower it evenly so I had to help with one end. He had no idea how the RV awnings worked, so I unclipped it and took off the velcro straps one side at a time. It was tricky, but we got it onto the ground and he cut it all off. This manual awning relies on the auto/spring to roll it up and put the arms back up, but no awning meant we had to both raise it and then I showed him how to click it in place and refasten the velcro straps. When we got it up, I noticed one side was not clicking into the upper hook, so he went up and used zip ties to fasten each side and then added duct tape as well. It was flapping on the cover to my refrigerator vent, which I knew had a crack in it, but now was almost falling off, so he duct taped that as well. It was really a three-person job. I need to be able to drive with it and not worry about it coming apart until I can order a new awning. I knew the awning was frayed on one end, and was 9 years old, so I don't mind paying for a new one. The metal is all fine and stayed where it was supposed to stay. I think the wind entered on the frayed end as I drove and just pulled fabric apart.

The worst part is that I was outside for over an hour, and we did this all in a sand storm! At least wind was down to 30 MPH! I just finished taking a shower and washing my hair. (There was sand on the shower floor!) Brushed my teeth, but I can still feel the grit. Went over every surface inside with damp paper towel and damp mopped the floor a second time!! Don't know how the cowboys managed!! Still blowing hard.

First task when i get settled in a couple of days is to vacuum the little weep holes under my windows! Each one was filled with dust/sand, but I wiped them down and then covered the whole row of them with extra wide masking tape!! THEN, I am going to fill all those little holes with clear silicone putty!!!!!!!!!! And just had to redo wiping off kitchen counter, sofa, floor, and just about everything. Plus had to wipe off laptop and then use compressed air to get rest of dust out. But now that I am clean, I am NOT going out until tomorrow morning when it stops blowing! And certainly no windows open at all!!!

Good afternoon. Had kind of a busy day today. Now am sitting with a nice hot cup of cocoa and a dog by my side. Had to go to the store for some stuff I needed to make a pot of soup. Well I ordered a stock pot and it is a 20qt pot..............OMG it is huge. What was I thinking???? I want to make enough to freeze but good grief this is ridiculous. So, I only filled it halfway and it took forever to come to a boil on my stove, but now it is gently bubbling away. Then I realized I dont have anything to freeze it in. So off to the store and found some canning jars..........but they only had pints or half gallons. LOL Well since I am going to have quite a bit of soup I got 6 of the half gallon jars. I like using them in my freezer instead of the plastic for soups.

Sue, what does "he needs to evaluate" translate to?????? He doesnt know what to do, he needs to consult, or he will just wing it LOL LOL Barbie your gourd is very pretty, you do nice work.

So glad so many of you are getting your vaccine. I am signed up but we wont have any vaccine for quite awhile so I have decided I am not stressing about this. IF I get it...great. If I dont will just wait til all the rest of you need another round LOL

McDonalds is not on my list of places to eat. I really dont like their burgers much. I can eat a breakfast sandwich and I do really like their coffee. It is always hot and fresh. I prefer Carls Jr's breakfast stuff way better.

Ummmm Judy I dont think you are supposed to cover or fill your weep holes. Sorry about your awning but guess it sure could have been so much worse.

I need to start checking my calendar when I make appointments. My second shot is March 19 and I have reservations on March 18 in North Louisiana for a campout. I wonder if I show up in the morning they will change my appointment to the Monday. My arm is sore now.

Karen, a 20 qt pot is a big pot and 10 quarts of soup is a lot of soup. I have a Magnalite pot that fits on 2 burners that I made gumbo in when I was feeding more people.

But, Karen, aren't weep holes supposed to be on the outside? So maybe these really aren't weep holes. These are in the bottoms of the window tracks on the inside, and I don't see how they could drain water because water does not run down the window on the inside on my RV. What is happening is that when it is windy, a strong breeze with dust blows through them. I will have to check what is on the outside, because apparently, these holes are connected to the outside somehow.

Today, each little hole had a pile of dust around it and the dust was blowing on stuff near them--my dinette in the back, even my kitchen counter and sink. When I washed dishes, I found the bottom of the dishpan was gritty. I damp mopped my floor twice and wiped window ledges and counter tops several times. Even my TV changer and cell phone had to be constantly wiped off because they were sitting next to the window. My laptop was on the floor and there was dust on the keys, so I wiped it off with a damp paper towel and then used compressed air to blow it from between the keys.

Judy, yes those inside holes have a purpose
The holes are there to allow condensation that forms on the windows in cooler weather to drain.

One person said,
Those drains are good things and you don't want to tape over them.

I actually had a window that was missing those weep holes. I looked at all the others and it was the only one missing them - and water was accumulating in the well on the inside. I took a small drill bit and created a couple of holes - water shot out of them! Haven't had water filling the well since.

And another:
The holes are there to allow condensation that forms on the windows in cooler weather to drain. Some makes of windows have small snap on covers for the drains that prevent the rain intrusion issue you're having. As a temporary fix, consider covering them with vinyl tape, such as electrical tape, leaving a small "bubble" at the bottom of the tape for drainage.

This is what they say about weep holes.

Weep holes are designed to allow condensation to exit to the outside of the RV
Weep holes are the little vents at the bottom of the window gasket. This is where the window sits. Weep holes in an RV window may look unimportant, or even like they are a simple crack in an aging RV. But don't be fooled, these little guys are a very functional, yet simple, drainage system for your camper window.

I think Judy that before you permanently do something to those holes whatever they are called you might check with the makers of the rig and see what would be good to do...
I did a stupid thing tonight for some reason Yahoo mail has been weird the last couple of nights can't scroll down past where the new emails are and the whole page doesn't pop open so I went to the sight of this magazine that I open up and wanted to read one of the articles it had me down load something to read it so did so the was indeed not a wise thing it asked permission to make it my home page like no but when I came to go to my next site (here) there it was no idea how to get rid of it and back to what I know hate it when that happens
last night I told self that I didn't want to do anything today self reminded me of all the things I should do this morning when I got up told self again I had no desire to do anything and self agreed we did nothing today but sat and either read or played on the phone then discovered that I couldn't get the charger to work so put the phone outside in the truck to charge... talked to my mom before that she sounded really pretty good even joked a bit
then tonight I tried again with the charger it seemed like it was working if it hadn't been that other things were working in the same outlet I'd think it was the outlet but... will hope that the phone is charged or may need to go get a charger when I go to get the mail was going to go to Blythe anyway need to wash the truck much to windy today for anything outside...
generator did start not sure what it's problem was last night but hopefully it will behave still need to check oil as well as the air filter if one can find it..
you all have a great day
