Snowy Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Monday

Postby Othersharon » Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:32 pm

I’m already running late today it would seem. Not sure why it matters but somehow I seem to think I should be on a more “normal” schedule! My sleep pattern is so messed up anymore and especially since I’ve never been a morning person it’s really a mess. I just wish I could get out of this not falling asleep until 2-3 in the morning. It sure messes up any morning activities. Hoping that once the weather gets better I can readjust. Anyway, it’s really putting down some snow today. But it is slightly above freezing so that a good thing and supposed to get to 50 on Wednesday. Winter really wants to hang on it seems! So after it finally stops maybe I can get out and play with the snowblower! At least the road looks good for people to be out in it. Today would have been my DH and my 52 anniversary and is my son and his wife’s anniversary. I remember fondly that DH used to bring me carnations, one for each year we were married. Carnations were always my favorite flower. I love the scent. Not sure why but there it is! I pulled out a whole chicken to stuff yesterday but it’s still somewhat frozen so leftovers tonight and chicken tomorrow. I’ll have lots left over so into the freezer some of it will go for meals later. So that’s about all my news today. Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. I’m seeing the numbers go down a bit in our county. Now if they would just stay down. Still nothing on the vaccine front for me yet but it’ll probably happen at some point! Have a great day.

Sharon keep up the vaccine search. Each area of the country comes up with their system. My daughter who is an educator not too excited to return to returning to the classroom without her vaccinations finally snagged an appointment for her first but it took her the better part of the day and repeatedly calling.... she said several friends of hers mentioned that they had tried to get through several times with no answer and gave up trying. She just keep dialing hanging up and dialing again until she hit the magical moment when their was actual operator available.

I am heading up to Pick up Jane and Audrey on Wednesday. The house will be full of busy dogs again.

The snow is melting here in SW Ohio once again. Someday it will be warm enough for these bones to go out walking dogs again.

Afternoon All, Been busy doing yuck chores. I like to cook but don’t like packaging for the freezer. So spent the morning packaging 7 Mac & cheese dinners and 7 chili dinners. Last night didn’t think bedtime would ever come as I tried to stay awake after eating all that cheese and milk. Edith and I try to keep each other sane by sending numerous emails all day. Whatever thought or complaint enters our head. I sent her a picture of my hatchet hair cut which is much shorter but waves some. All her hair fell out from stress. She said it is growing back with uncontrollable cowlicks and she looks like a punk rocker. :) Tina is on the road again. :D :D :D Be safe

Not only a sunny day here, but 67 degrees before 11:30! Rest of week supposed to be same. I have just under an hour before Curves. I just finished all the critter chores so thought I'd see if anyone else had popped in, as it was quiet earlier.
Tina, it's so good to see you post normal stuff. You have so much been in my thoughts and prayers over the weeks and weeks.
Around here, instead of snow blowing, I'm thinking I may need to teach myself to run the riding mower, since my handyman has yet to reappear. He has tools here , so guessing he will eventually.
Mandy cat has been doing really well. She is eating more than in a number of months, so hope she will gain a little. Her sister, Stormy, was emphatic this morning that it was time for her chicken and to my surprise, the two played a little, something Mandy has not felt up to in a while.
I always love fall and winter here, but, gotta say, I'm ready for spring, and the grassses/ weeds are already greening up and growing. My Naricissus are getting ready to bloom. Hard to believe my younger son and I planted them probably 25 years ago! I would love to get more bulbs planted. Easy care that they are.
Have a good rest of you day.

Sharon, my hours are similar to yours. Actually here in the desert is cold mornings this time of year, so I like going out later morning when the sun has been warming us up. I have a feeling if I stayed in the summer, is want to try to change my schedule drastically lol.

Tina, yay, things must be improving a great deal for you to be getting the pups. I know you all must miss each other.

Shirl, I agree. I cooked a version of pepper steak and a version of beef stew yesterday. I only kept one serving of each for today and tomorrows dinners. So last night was bagging up the rest after labeling and freezing and cleaning my mess. You'd think it's hard work, wouldn't you? lol

Today I slept in, normally. It was beautiful for our desert walk and look what we saw:

Yea, it's up to 73. I finally got around to calling about my house phone being out. Someone was suppose to come Wednesday but showed up at 12:30. I had seen them working on a downed cable and figured that was the problem but it wasn't. He got it fixed. This was the 3rd time my house phone has been out. Maybe tomorrow I can call about my satellite box being out. My neighbors cancelled their Directv and I've about had it with them too.

Tina, glad you feel up to getting your dogs back.

The hospital called at 5:50 Saturday afternoon and left me a message that they had vaccine if I still wanted a shot. I didn't figure I would hear from them on the weekend so didn't have my phone on me. I tried calling them back in 10 minutes but they never would answer. As far as I know I still have my appointment for Thursday. I need a phone holder I can hang around my neck. My phone is too big for my pockets and I keep laying it down and forgetting it.

I had finally got Daffodils growing around the pecan tree and the lightening killed the tree and the flowers. I would like to plant some more but not sure what time of year to plant them. I had a few Iris plants in with the roses for a while but not sure there are any of them left.

Beth, what is that, some kind of bird?

Oops. Martha, I thought I said. I went back and edited. B it's a Western Screech Owl. Similar to an Eastern Screech Owl. I wouldn't know the difference but we're in Arizona, so I went with western lol

Lots of food going in the freezer on here! I've even got in the habit with crockpot meals. Looking forward to having a kitchen again!

Tina, so happy you are ready to pick up your other fur kids! Velda, glad there was kitty playtime.

I have always been a night owl, but I have become worse - usually about 3 a.m. With cold mornings, it was okay to sleep in. Yes, Sharon, it doesn't really matter, but it still feels wrong to sleep late. I finally told my daughter not to worry if I hadn't texted her by noon that I'm alive! I'm never going to be a morning person. It has been raining and the ground is a mushy, muddy mess. The several inches on the picnic tables are now gone.

The kids picked up my grocery order before they came to get me yesterday. What a treat to be with them! Monica and I were sitting by the big window looking out at the river when a bald eagle flew by chasing a Mallard duck. As the duck turned, the eagle almost had him. They flew back the other way side by side. All of the sudden the eagle slapped the duck with his wing - it was amazing. A tree blocked our view but Monica had a peek-a-boo between branches and she thought the Mallard lost. On the way home we drove through town to see the Christmas lights one last time - they come down the 28th.

If they continue to do mass vaccination in Wenatchee, that will probably be my best bet once I can drive the Sling again.

Be safe and well!

My mom was always a night owl and then would sleep til noon. I could never understand that, but now I have become the same way. Alto, now that I am back at work, I have to get to bed before midnight since I need to be up by 7am.

Got off work at 1:30 today. I have been busy finishing laundry and putting water in my golf cart batteries. My cart still isn't charging so I thought maybe if I topped off the batteries, that might make a difference. Some were a little low. We'll see. If not, I will call the cart doctor. Need to cut up my empty cardboard boxes and get rid of those. Then put my clean clothes away tonight yet. I have tomorrow off and have a long list of things to do after playing golf.

One of the guys here at the park went out with some friends yesterday to play golf. He hit the ball on the first hole and couldn't see where it landed so he hit another ball and thought it landed on the green but couldn't see it when he walked up to the green. Then he looked in the hole, and BOTH balls were in the hole!!! Two hole-in-ones back to back!! :o Incredible!! He deserves a special award for that!

I found that letter from the IRS about the $600 stimulus check. Turns out it was for the one we got in early January. Why they sent that letter in the middle of February is anyone's guess. Was disappointed, but maybe we will still get something yet.

I picked out a gourd to start working on, but as I was drawing on a design, I noticed 2 cracks near the top. When I looked closer, there were a whole bunch of teeny hairline cracks as well. I know how to fix the larger ones but not sure about the itty bitty ones. I posted about it on the FB gourd page to see what they all think. I could just cut off the top of the gourd but I like the shape of it with the top left on. Will see if I can save it.

Tina, you must be feeling a lot better if you are driving up to pick up your dogs! That is great news! :D I am sure it will be a very happy reunion for all of you!

Martha, there is a fanny pack type thing that you can get for your phone. I think I will get one of these myself... https://smile.amazon.com/Running-Fitnes ... SER7PC9WFC

I have always been a night owl too. I would hide in my closet when I was a kid to read with a flashlight when I was suppose to be in bed. Now I watch the late shows which end at 12:30 so go to sleep sometime after that. A lot of times I will fall asleep for a couple of hours and wake up. It's so aggravating when I can't go back to sleep. I'm doing good if I get to sleep to 8:00. Either the cats are walking on me or Sugar is barking at me. Sugar is doing better, she use to get me up at 6:00.

Barbie, I see you use a Amazon smile account. I use one and donate to the Wildcat Foundation. They don't get much money from what I order but guess ever little bit helps. If I can ever get my shot I won't worry so much about keeping up with my phone.

I talked to my sister tonight and she said the Walmart where she lives hasn't restocked yet. No milk, eggs, bread or meat. I went to Walmart here today and it looks normal. Last week when I went they had so much stacked in the aisles it was hard to pass but looks like they got things put on shelves.

late getting on tonight called my girls to see what their feelings were and they suggest that I come home sooner than normal but not in Feb. #2 dd is going to be in St. George the end of March 21 I believe said if I could be ready and there then I could have help driving home. that is only a couple of weeks early well guess closer to 3 but still not awful ... guess the dr today said that mom can't have that procedure to cement the fractures they didn't say why assume age when they get old that is usually the excuse... that she needs to walk more eat better right now she can't be alone... my dd's suggest that I tell my brother's that I can be with mom from what ever date till like the 1st of Oct then they will have to figure out the winter yaw right  and that I should have weekend's off from what was said today from what the girls said not looked at it yet was going to before I charged the phone but forgot that she has only had 1 pain pill but has had Tylnol and has seemed to be doing ok that way.. the girls suggested that I park the 5th wheel in mom's driveway they seem to think it will fit... I'm not so sure and then there is a sloop to the drive which means having the front really jacked up... scary but it would give me my own space... which would be a good thing...
we all know that I have that don't go to bed till way late and don't want to get up till way late try to set the alarm but then I have it in hand snooze and then do FB and loose an hour might as well not set the alarm for all the good it does me
So good to see you posting Tina and getting the dogs things must be going well so happy about that...
some days those impulse purchases even when doing it don't make sense but go a head and do it anyway??? you know THOSE??  Saturday I saw a calendar and thought Bob Ross how neat looked at the back of it and it had lots of cute little trees and shrubs and somehow even though I have a calendar it found it's way into the cart not even on sale :? now to figure out what to do with it... oh well what can I say???
Barbie been going to ask what was the place that you like to get chicken finger's at? think you did it on your b'day trip because you don't have one in your area... my sister bought some chicken fingers and now I can't remember the name of it so guess there was 3 meals delivered... but boy was that chicken good seems like it started with a C I totally enjoyed it...
you all have a good day

I go to Epic Wings (aka Wings 'N Things). Love their mild chicken finger meal! None around here so I have to stop in Temecula or Vista for it when I am in that area.

In bed right now but have heart burn so sitting up for awhile until it settles down some.
