Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hi. Everybody. Looks like we are running out of ideas for naming our posts, so just sticking the day of the week in there. Exciting lives we lead, eh. That time of year.

Nothing exciting going on here either. Just doing to touchup painting here and there and working in my guest bathroom. Both bathrooms are still a work in progress as I make some decor changes and wait for the paint to cure so I can put up the mosiac tiles in my bathroom. I did get a new mirror for my bathroom, so habitat is going to get a mirror donation. Old one is too large for the space once I put up the row of tile. I am not goi g any further with paibting for now as need to give this place a good cleaning and get ready for my eye surgery next week.

Lyn, nice to se your post and see you are doing okay. Same for those of you who got your first vaccine shots. They say the second ones might make one sick for a short bit. Mostly low fever, aches, headache etc. Nothing that Acetaminophen like Tylenol can’t handle. I’m on two waiting lists, so shall see what happens. MI has vaccinated over 1 million people and we are set to do at least 50,000 a week if we can get any vaccine.

Karen, I’m with you on the political rants. . It’s over, one won, one lost Been that way every four years. Time to move on. I think a lot of it is because people have been cooped up and their anxieties and anger and whatever are spilling over. As we gradually begin to return to more normal lifestyles, the weather heads into summer, than people are going to be busy doing other things. Congrats on selling your MH finally. Like you said, you can always get something small if the mood strikes. There are times when I have the same thoughts. Our State parks are getting more and more crowded than specially since the pandemic started. More people are discovering the RV thing. Making it harder to book sites unless you make thoe reservations 6 months out, when that window opens. Private parks aren’t always the answer either as they aren’t near where you want to be, packed too close together or you pay for amenities you don’t want or need. I am not equipped to boondocks but even those parks are getting busy.

Shelia, had to laugh at your grocery shopping adventures. I know well that going for a couple things and come out with 5 bags full, plus forgetting what I went for. And tbere’s that make a list, but the list is at home  Best of luck with your mom situation. I know you will make the best choices you can.

Enough jabbering here. Need to get my day moving. Have a nice day everyone. Stay safe and warm, those of you addicted by the bad weather.

Good Morning Sue, it is 28°and sunny. Next week predicted to be high 40’s, be still my heart. Housekeeping chores today and will try to walk across the parking lot to the dumpster. Hope I don’t fall on my. ....way there. ;) Porch Friend and I already planned a wine and pizza party the last of March. We will both have two shots and an extra two weeks by then. We might even party in our pjs. Still thinking about daughters raised garden. Liz, how does your garden grow? Anne’s, lettuce is an incentive. I have been watching Amazon Prime and Britbox. This week I have traveled to Tuscany and The Scottish Locks in a tall ship. Karen, it’s sad when we sell our Rv but the time comes. On my oldest daughter’s 21st birthday, I heard her talking to her younger sister. She said “I’m over the hill”. Younger sister said “well where is Mom”? The answer was “she’s starting on the next hill”. I have climbed a lot of hills. :D Be safe

The temperature is up to 48. Sugar might get a long walk today. It was only a short one yesterday. I never did get out a heavy coat so my trips outside have been fast.

I decided to make a meatloaf this morning. I usually only make one using 1 pound of meat but I bought 2 pounds. I'll be eating meatloaf for a while. Yesterday I decided to cook the giant ham hock my son got for me before Christmas. I wish I had weighted it, it was the size of a small ham. I cooked it in the slow cooker for 4 hours and then put half a pound of black-eyed peas. I should have put the whole pound but I wasn't sure the slow cooker could hold that much. It came out a little soupy but is good. Putting the peas into hot water made them cook really fast. I'll have to try that again. My cooking is never the same because I do something different every time. I always think I'll remember what I did but I don't.

My life is more peaceful since I snoozed the people that post political stuff. If we don't like what's going on we get to try to change it every 4 years not try to overthrow the election if you didn't like the outcome. I want to live in America not Trumpville.

It's 48 and sunny here. I feel fine, not even sore arm from vaccine yesterday, but, of course that was round 1. I'll see if I have the energy to do my normal workout today. Might get boxes cut for recycle. They closed the can recycle center we used, so gotta find another as sons can collection is getting out of control. Weather people say over next 10 days we will get close to 70. Maybe I can get out and pick up branches in the yard. Starting a new book, The Dietitian''s Dilemma. About the lies and bad advice that they are forced by hospitals to give patients due to decades of big AG lies. Heard her talk in an interview. Maybe I'll finally get some stamping and watercoloring in. My son has another fever of unknown origin, which he seems to do every few months, and I'm reluctant to take him in for full work up until he can get vaccine, which they said yesterday, his turn is coming. Last time cause was infection in his leg, another time it was a hidden abscess in tooth. It's hard to motivate him to improve because of the brain issues he has, but I keep trying.
Karen, glad you were able to sell the RV, new adventures ahead. I want a slightly bigger RV, but with what people are saying about campground availability , I'm glad I haven't jumped on that yet.
Have a good day, hope those in the ice zones are starting to thaw.

My morning didn't start off well! Mitzi refused to come in and was out for 50 minutes!! I was afraid she would have frost bite. It was 6 degrees and we have 6-8 inches of snow. I could not walk out to her because top is icy. I finally got my husband up to call her and she came in, only to race to her piddle pad!!! Obviously there is something wonderful in the yard. She normally obeys only me but has recently decided he should be in charge! She seems fine. It is hard to keep her in when it is cold but 6 degrees is not something she should dawdling around in! A huge hawk flew down a bit ago to the spot she was in this morning, I hope it took care of the 'remains!
Pat, I had a good giggle over your post yesterday!
It is supposed to get up to 33 today and 50's next week!!!!! No more single digit temps and the fear of ice storms and power going out at least for now!!
Stay warm and stay safe!

Gorgeous here today for our Mardi Gras golf cart parade. I'm so glad the day got changed. We did the actual decorating of our cart this morning and the parade will start in a little over an hour. I'm walking along, leaving Ty home.

Martha, thanks for your talk re cooking. I just looked in my fridge and have a bunch of veggies that need to be used. So I think tomorrow I'll be cooking some of the meat I cut up and froze and making a bunch more freezer meals. And I can't buy more lol I have trouble passing by really good meat deals, especially while I'm here and have the fridge in the casita to use. But I have to remember it all needs to fit back into just the rv fridge.

Karen, I didn't realize you were thinking of selling the rv, but I certainly understand and congrats. I'm not ready to give up traveling, but think I'll be continuing workamping, even with shorter hours like I am this summer, to get to some areas I really want to explore. Then use the car. I'm not into fighting to find a place to stay.

BJ, two of my previous dogs, Moxie and Peaches, both loved the cold and snow. I understand what you went through.

Beth, I know what you mean about passing up a good meat deal. I ended up with 2 pounds of ground meat because of the price difference between one pound and 2 pound packages. I could have repackaged it but now I will have meatloaf in the freezer already cooked. I need to remember last year's hurricane season and not fill up my freezers. My refrigerator has a bottom freezer and I have a small upright freezer.

Sugar likes to lay out at night and she got bronchitis on the New Years campout. I only let her stay out a few minutes at home when it's cold now but when we are camping she doesn't want to come in. She will lay down and not get up. She is too heavy for me to pick up so I have to bribe her to come in.

I am still at Willow Beach campground, downstream from Hoover Dam next to the Black Canyon of the Colorado, enjoying the bunnies and the hummingbirds. I dug out the hummingbird feeder I bought two years ago and misplaced, but then found. Filled it up yesterday and tiny birds have found it. Beautiful, mostly sunny day with comfortable high of 70. Only problem is that it is really windy, so may postpone my bike ride down the hill to the river until tomorrow.

I've had a really bad cold sore for the last couple of days. It covers huge part of my upper lip, making it hard to eat and very painful. In the middle of the night, which is when I get my best ideas, I remembered that I had a half of a bottle of an anti-viral for shingles. (I was on it for almost a year, from the time I recovered from shingles in October 2019 until the end of last summer when I had finished getting the two Shingrix shots.) Doctor gave it to me because my immune system back then made me more susceptible for shingles again. Looked it up online on my phone and found it was also prescribed for cold sores, which are also caused by the herpes virus. So I grabbed a pill and took it. Will take another this evening.

Still have not heard from New Mexico state parks about whether they are going to cancel my March reservation because of COVID, as they did with my February reservations. If they do, my plan is to head east on I-40 and head to NM anyway, but staying at a COE campground near Santa Fe. Will make it a leisurely drive, staying at a couple of places on the way, so I don't have to drive too many miles each day.

Also, forgot, but my drape project for the front cab area is on hold because I messed up some of the snaps and then ran out. Will be leaving here on Tuesday and can stop either at Bullhead City or Flagstaff at a Joann Fabrics.

Hope everyone is out of the nasty weather! It was beautiful here for a couple days with fresh snow, but now in the 40s with rain coming (maybe). Even a night or two above freezing. Enjoy watching people's dogs playing in the snow.

Karen, happy you got your MH sold so quickly! Sheila, the uncertainty of what to do has to be hard, but the answer will come. Catherine, not sure I'd have the energy to keep up with a toddler, but how fun! I like Sam Elliott so started to watch 'The Ranch' - the F word came out so often in the first 2 minutes I turned it off! I can only handle so much. Lyn, sorry you are feeling depressed, but I can understand.

I have snoozed or unfollowed several people on FB because of political posts. There's a community page on FB for Leavenworth and I have blocked people who have such nasty attitudes, call people names, etc.

My itty bitty news is kind of big for me - I'm going to the kids' tomorrow! Haven't been off the campsite since January 3!

Everyone be well.

I have severely limited the number of friends on Facebook to mostly relatives and close friends, but I dumped several cousins and one friend from 3rd grade a couple of years ago for nasty, racist posts and political garbage. I also dumped one female cousin several years ago because she kept posting photos of her niece who had posed for Playboy photos. The photos were as close to almost completely nude as you can get with only about 4" x 4" worth of clothing! I just thought it was a bit weird for an aunt to be posting.

The friend from elementary school kept making comments about Muslims, and I told her she was talking about my grandkids maternal grandfather. She said she did not know, and I told her that was the whole point--you should not make those kinds of comments because you do NOT know who it affects!!!

Looks like I'm in good company in snoozing folks from FB. At first I thought it would be good to keep up with what they are saying/thinking, but it makes me sad & sometimes mad that they continue to post lies & hate. So, yep, I've snoozed quite a few.

Judy, good for you speaking up to the friend who was making comments about Muslims. I don't even try to convince anyone of anything -especially on FB.

Anita, I love having my little guy. He 'brings me great joy' most of the time. But I'll be ready for him to go to preschool when he turns 2. Having both kids on Wednesdays is tough though. I usually go to bed shortly after I take them home that day.
Sure hope schools open up soon. Los Angeles county is approved to open, but the teachers union wants teachers & staff vaccinated first (I don't blame them) so it still might be a while. I continue to be flabergasted by Olivia's assignments. This past week they read 2 stories & were told to explain in which way are the texts similar & how do they differ. Really???? This is kindergarten!!!!!!!! :x

Feels good getting my place back in order. DD said flight was super-easy with very few people on it. After getting to their apartment, they went to the bakery around the corner for a chocolate croissant fresh out of the oven. ;) My SIL impressed us all by his attention to detail in preparing for her arrival. She is very happy which makes me delighted. Now I can't wait to go visit.

I actually came home today... :o I really get tired there ... my sister uses a walker to get around she also has shoulder problems and my nephew has that curvature of the spine is over weight and I don't know what all but does as little as possible so they usually do the meal delivery from different places... when I'm there they get home cooked food... the first night there they ordered in sandwiches the last night pizza other than that I cooked and cause of the issue with the dish washer (plastic melted on the heating element) nephew is convinced that it can't be used because it would be toxic and sister thinks it would just make it harder to get off... so other than one night when ds asked her son to do the dishes (he washed sorta the plates utensils and glasses and then left them in the sink I guess because I'd not put the dishes away that I'd washed anyway by the time I leave I am tired... I really think he is bipolar this trip he was actually pleasant to be around.. sometimes not so much...
had a safe trip home did the stop by wally world and found the last set of books for Feb. and the first set for Mar :o and then there was a book by a favorite author that decided to get.. oh well
got home stuff in perishables in fridge and took a nap then put stuff away.. now I really ought to go turn off the genny and read scriptures not done that yet.. and let my sister know that the dryer has sheets ect in it..
Mom had her 2nd shot yesterday but with all that is going on in her life right now it's hard to tell what is causing what one is that one leg feels like it won't hold her up which is how my #2 dd said she felt when she got her vaccine... so they wheel her to the bathroom and then help her up ... I almost turned North when I left but decided that it wouldn't be a big help and I'd just worry about my stuff down here... and I'd eventually have to come down for things anyway...
well this isn't getting the ginny turned off and it's well after 10 but who is to hear?
