Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rotten Morning All, geeezzz, it’s raining, snowing and sleeting. No accumulation predicted. Not complaining just stating weather. Checked light therapy on Amazon, might be an option for gloomy weather. I was able to get my 77 yr old kid brother a first vaccine appointment for tomorrow on line. It has now been moved to next week because available vaccine needed for second doses this week. I am amazed the health department can keep on top of this unpredictable mess. These people are true hero’s. Be safe

Good morning! It’s another cold, snowy day here in PA. But at least it’s snow and not freezing rain. Grateful for that at least! My driveway is still icy but decided it wasn’t going to get cleared until it thaws a bit more. Neighbors did chip and clear our sidewalks yesterday so that was great! I knew my back just wouldn’t do well with chipping and shoveling it all. I hate that my back keeps me from doing things I used to do. But as long as I can keep from having back surgery I do what I have to do! Chiropractor and exercise keeps me going! At this time I’m jut glad we didn’t lose power when we were getting the ice the other day. Don’t like the snow all that much but it’s better then ice. A bonus of being retired is that I don’t have to be out on the roads when they’re bad! Been there and done that!
Tina, so happy to hear that you’re feeling better. Lark will have you out before you know it! Hoping all of you dealing with this weather are able to stay warm and safe.
The hospital system actually posted a page yesterday to be able to sign up for their waitlist. So got my name on it. I keep checking the other sites but so far no availability anywhere. I’m on waitlists for several places so time will tell! Meanwhile I just try to stay away from social situations and just do what I need to do. Sure miss not seeing my kids and grands whenever I want. But I weighed myself the other day and I’ve lost a couple more pounds! I still think it’s because I’m cooking at home and not going out to eat! So that’s a good thing that’s come from all this craziness! I need to get some vacuuming done today so suppose I should get busy and just do it instead of talking about it! Have a great day and stay safe and warm!

Hello Everybody,
Shirl I hear you, hang in there. Sharon, snow is one thing; freezing rain quite another. We’re getting snow right now and I hope it stays cold enough so it doesn’t become freezing rain.
Don’t know what inspired me, but I just made a macaroni and cheese. Had a lot opened packages of different types of cheese and they all went into the food processor to be grated..... Help yourself. It tastes pretty good on a cold snowy day
in New England. Stay well. Peggy

The hospital called and rescheduled my shot to next Thursday because they didn't get any vaccine. Darn! I was hoping to get that started.

It was suppose to get down to 32 last night and only got to 35. I'll take anything above freezing. It's suppose to get back into the 20's again tonight and tomorrow night. I have been lucky so far not to lose power or water. They are having problems in town with the water. There are so few people left down where I live that we are ok. Harold insisted on running water when it freezes but our house is so well insulated that I haven't had any problems. I just open cabinet doors in the bathroom and kitchen. The cats have enjoyed exploring the cabinets. I talked to my sister last night and they had been out of power since before noon and a pipe had busted in the bathroom. It will be in the teens where she lives. I wouldn't be surprised to see her drive up if the roads weren't frozen.

I probably wouldn't be doing much if it was warmer but it sure is boring.

Good morning gals!

Been busy working this week and have today off. Already got phone calls made, appointments set up, and all my bills paid for the month, plus a good chunk of money left over to put in my savings account. Still have the $600 stimulus check coming and my paycheck tomorrow, which should look good with all the hours I have put in the first couple weeks. I can pay the 2nd half of my property taxes and maybe buy a dishwasher. Oh yeah, I still need to do my income taxes. Will attempt to do that myself this time to save some money. It shouldn't be too complicated this year.

Now to get to my laundry and dishes. I have an invite for a BBQ dinner tonight with a neighbor.

I have a PT appointment for next Thursday. Yesterday, I moved my shoulder back without thinking and got a shooting, burning pain thru the shoulder and down my arm that just about sent me to the floor! My doctor had recommended a cortisone shot but I don't think masking the pain is the best option. I would rather fix what is wrong. I don't want to do further damage because I don't feel the pain and start moving it in ways I shouldn't be.

I got my blood test results back for my hormones and they are all up where they should be now. I am definitely feeling better with all the menopause stuff. No more hotflashes, etc! Yay!

Stay safe and cozy!

Sunny and 61 in my part of northern California . Just did 30 min on treadmill and taking short break before Total Gym. Then back on treadmill for 20 more. Tomorrow, if no calls of canceling, I'll get first vaccine. Hopei feel ok for my workout Saturday .
No big plans here, as usual. Cats, bird, and kid and I all doing well. Tonight I'm doing a pork tenderloin in air fryer with loin wrapped in bacon. Hope it turns out yummy as videos show.

Hi all,
Really feel for those in the ice & cold. My daughter who lives near Dallas was without heat for 3-4 days & no water. The temp inside dropped to 40. They finally got heat last night around 11, but still don't have water. The pipes in their apartment complex were breaking so it might take a while to get all of them fixed before they can get water again.

Finally got my DD off to France this afternoon. So many hoops to jump thru! Not many people are allowed to travel there right now, but since it is now her primary residence & her husband is French, she is one of the few. Said there weren't too many people on the plane so she's got plenty of room to stay away from others.

My place is a mess right now, but I'll have the weekend to straighten it up. While I loved having her here with me, I'm ok living alone, enjoying my own space & place.

Got my 2nd Moderna vaccine yesterday. Sore arm was the only side effect. Have been so busy getting DD ready today that it got a good workout & no longer hurts at all. Will resume taking care of grandson tomorrow. He's a handful but such a hoot! When I go get him each morning, he can't wait to head out to the car - problem is, even if I just go there for a visit, he thinks he should come home with me.

Stay safe & warm out there,
Catherine

Got 3 large loads of laundry done today. Got a few other small things done around here. Then it was time to go for the BBQ dinner. It was at my friend Ann's house. She is the one who has stage 4 lung cancer. Her daughter Cindy cooked steaks for us. Was very good! We sat outside and chatted for quite awhile. Her house is right on the golf course with a beautiful view of a lake and the mountains in the distance. Lots of interesting water fowl in the lake and a large fountain in the middle. I would love to have that house! It is worth about twice what mine is tho.
It was interesting hearing stories Ann told about her life. She just lost her husband to Covid 6 weeks ago. She is still waiting for his body to be cremated. There is a huge backlog due to so many deaths out here. She is terminal and doctors say she just has a few months left. She was on a chemo drug but it made her so sick and weak that she stopped taking it (she had a $2000 per month co-pay! ) in order to have a better quality of life. She looks good and moving around pretty good right now.

So I never got to the dishes. I did run into our park maintenance guy and he came over to look at my kitchen floor. He said that because of the interlocking way the boards go together, the whole floor throughout the house would have to be redone. The only other alternative would be to cut the flooring across the width of the kitchen on both sides and replace the boards in between. Then would have to put a transition strip on both of the cut areas. Will have to talk to the insurance company to see what they would be willing to do. I don't want to redo the whole floor.

I have a shorter shift tomorrow. 10-3, but I will probably be sent home earlier since it isn't very busy now. I missed a small pile of dirty clothes in the bathroom today, so I need to run those over to the laundry room and get them washed. Most of that contains my work pants. Oops!

I ordered a small diamond painting kit the other day which I got today. I want to try it and see if it is something I can incorporate into the gourd art. I was watching a video of diamond painting yesterday and they said that you can also use a cross-stitch pattern to do it on, since they use the same item numbers for the thread colors as the little "diamond" piece colors. I found that interesting.

I need to charge up my cart tomorrow. I was driving it back home tonight and the headlights went out and the cart started to slow down. Made it home just in time. It doesn't stay charged as long now as it used to.

Off to bed here...
