Dreary Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Dreary Monday

Cloudy here, maybe showers and was 50 at 07 this morning! Feel so for all of you in bitter cold. Please stay safe. I go back to Curves indoors, at the gym, at 12:30. Right now, I'm not sure I even want to go back, but I am paying dues for now, so I'll go. Decide over the coming month, if I want to keep going. Im finding my treadmill and Total Gum, very convenient and enjoyable. I'll be glad when the sun breaks through with warmth of spring, and I usually like winter here! Late last night, I decided to try one more time to see if I could find a appointment for the vaccine. Much to my surprise, one popped up, the other side of town, where new vet is, on Friday afternoon, so I snagged it! Now to find out when I can get disabled son in for his! It's still unclear when the new rules allowing disabled over 16 to be included. I need to break out rug shampooer this afternoon as Stormy made a mess on bathroom carpet with her chicken. I was hoping to wait on carpet cleaning until weather warms, but she made it necessity! Guess I'll just run fans a while over it. Haven't heard from handyman Sean in several weeks, and sure hope he pops back up,soon, as I have multiple things he needs to do.
Hoping cold breaks soon for so many of you. Stay warm and enjoy a cup,of soup or cocoa.

It got down to 28 last night and has warmed all the way up to 29. I'm not sure it will get above freezing today. It's suppose to get down to 18 tonight. The coldest I have ever seen here in 45 years is 17. The power went out during the night but I don't know for how long and my house phone isn't working. It has snowed in some places but only got sleet here. The sleet and snow has moved off to the East. The weather channel is saying that they are having rolling power outages in Texas to keep the power from going out all over. Just hope my power doesn't go off.

I feel for all of you getting this storm. It seems a good portion of the country is involved. It's cooler and windy here today but nothing like many of you are seeing.

I had a mobile repair service out this morning. I had a water drip I couldn't find the cause of. I had two ideas but wouldn't have been able to fix either of them so called the pros. They checked my first idea (possible connection or something from my water heater that was replaced just before leaving SD last fall) wasn't the problem. My next idea was where my hose intake is. Yep, it was behind it, so it wasn't dripping outside the rig, and where it was it luckily didn't drip onto the floor, etc. It was a pretty easy fix for them. Would not have been for me. Since he needed access from outside and inside I have gotten that cabinet cleaned out and even threw some things away. Reorganized it and now will probably have trouble finding things lol. On the plus side, I had purchased and a new red side light for one damaged on the rv. I thought I'd replace it while they were here and the second guy grabbed it and did it for me. It was a little more work than I expected, so I was happy for having that done. And my bill was a tad under $100. I was worried about that.

On the other hand, the park is doing outside casita inspections and they came by today. I'm going to have to get one section of my porch roof/overhang repaired. I hope it doesn't require too much labor or money. They didn't mention anything else while here, so fingers crossed that's it. I'll call a person who works on casitas this week and hope I'm calling before everyone else who might have work needed.

I'm ready for bed now lol. I have a little Safeway grocery pickup later this afternoon though. I'll go as soon as I hear it's ready. That's about 1/2 an hour away. I picked a later time because I knew the repair guys would be here this morning.

Stay safe and warm everyone. Velda, I'm glad you got an appt. I'm surprised your son isn't in the groups acceptable, but hope he is soon.

Good Morning! Sunny without a cloud in the sky....still -17! Itty bitty news is that I received a call this morning and I have an appointment for my first COVID vaccine on the 25th! Woohoo!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good deal on your appt, Pat.

Our golf cart Mardi Gras parade that was scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed till Saturday. We have rain and 50's predicted for tomorrow. Sunny and upper 70's Saturday. I think it was a good change.

the weather was a bit warmer today didn't feel like I needed to crawl into bed to get warm.. but it's suppose to be windy tomorrow and Weds. imagine that will make it colder... got groceries and did dishes made supper.. we had butter chicken my sister liked it don't know if her son did or not didn't say... :? oh well more leftovers for us tomorrow
I will see if I can remember what my brother reported that the dr said... guess it was a conference call... the back pain is from compression fractures on the vertebra. she also has a hernia that is letting the stomach float up into the chest area causing her to be short of breath and also is causing her to not eat much... because of her age and the valve in her heart they are not going to repair it
looking into pain shots to manage the pain in the back until the compression fractures heal... and she is a bit anemic which isn't unusual she had a dr tell her once that she just doesn't do a good job producing blood... same dr told her she can't absorb iron (this was a gazillion years ago and iron has undergone changes) but getting her to take iron is not easy... also said that she should eat several small meals a day not a fun thought I don't see how this is going to work... but we will see... maybe I am too something about it
I think tomorrow I will bake some cookies have all the ingredients to make oatmeal raisin cookies oops forgot to check and see if there is oatmeal .... drat meant to do that before I went to the store...
you all take care stay warm that weather is not good most places...

Sheila, might want to see if grandsons can make and place some small blocks under the head of your Moms bed, not very high, just enough to help gravity take pressure of Hiatal Hernia off her lungs. Might be more comfortable for her. A block under each head of bed leg. Mel dealt with hiatal hernia for decades. Even had a repair, which failed latr. Bit what helped was reducing certain foods that irritated it, such as most carbs ESP tomato products. We have those adjustable beds and Mel often slept with head raised a bit.
