Happy Valentine's Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy Valentine's Day

Treat yourself with something special today. Each of us deserves it.

Today starts 5 or 6 days of chilly/colder weather. But nothing like many of you are seeing. Tomorrow I have a mobile mechanic coming for a couple things. Today I'll try to get Ty exercised around the winds.

Sunny here, cool 40's overnight, expecting showers to move in tonight. Same routine, except church moved from 9 to 11:30. Half the congregation can attend, tne rest of us on zoom. Next week, though it's "my turn", I won't go, because no vaccine yet , but primarily because we have to sit apart as "family groups"! It just makes me feel sad to be a family of one...
This week I go back to Curves by appointment. Will see how I like it, this time around. I may decide to quit and continue my treadmill and Total Gym at home, which I planned to do anyhow. I was at Curves, at least in part, for the social aspect, but not much social about 5 people widely spaced with masks!
No Valentines for us this year. Chris (my son) and I decided we just were not in the mood for it. And I don't eat candy and we can't have flowers with the cats, so just another day for us, but hope the rest of you enjoy your day.

We only know one word so far lately RAIN. I know we still need it but a break in between would be nice. BUT could be way worse so I am really not complaining.

Hung some pictures up this morning. Vacuumed, dusted, did a load of laundry and fought with my tv LOL I wanted to add the Peacock app but it is not compatible with Samsung unless I go thru Apple TV app which I do have on my Samsung. Then have to mirror it from my phone..............another leaning curve that I am not sure I want to attempt. I have a Roku tv in my bedroom so I can put it on there if I still want to. We shall see.

Bought a nice roasted chicken yesterday at Costco so Emma and I enjoyed a nice dinner last night. Today will pull the meat off and make a couple of chicken and dressing casseroles. Eat some, freeze some, yup that will work. Then going to make some blueberry muffins to have with my Coffee mocha this afternoon.

Going to check out some shows on my streaming apps and settle down now with my throw, nice and cozy.

It didn't get down to freezing yet. It's suppose to be in the 20's tonight. I am still working on insulating the faucets. The one on the house had one of the insulated covers but it came off and blew away. I hope I don't forget to go empty the rain gauge or that will break if it freezes.

I took a turkey thighs out last night to cook today. I kept digging in the freezer looking for some dressing like it was going to magically appear. I decided to make some. I will freeze some in one serving containers for later. I have gravy in the freezer.

When I went to feed the outside cats I found one of the cats sick. Of course it's Sunday. I went back out with some medicine and couldn't find her. I'll try again later.

Good Morning! Happy Valentines Day! It’s clear and sunny with a -13 temp and -32 windchill and supposed to be colder tomorrow. Needless to say, I’m being a houseplant. Only thing that this is good for is defrosting the big freezer. I boxed everything out and set it on the patio. Didn’t have to worry about anything thawing. It’s amazing what a person finds on the bottom of a freezer. I know that I haven’t cleaned it out in quite a while. But another good thing is that the stuff that I had to throw away is not going to thaw out and start stinking in the garage! Just finished cooking some chicken thighs that were kind of iffy in the freezer burn category and will cool them off, skin and debone them, chop them up and mix them with some cooked brown rice and mixed vegetable for my sister’s dog.

There is a good possibility that I will get my first COVID vaccine this week. I can’t wait and will probably even welcome a sore arm! I want to feel comfortable going to the wellness center again. It’s been 11 months since I’ve been there and I’ll probably die when I start again.

Cold weather has me binge watching Netflix and crocheting afghans and baking. I’m on the second season of The Crown. I find myself Googling quite a bit trying to understand what happened. The royal family certainly wasn’t a very happy bunch. I must not have paid attention in history class….but then I guess it was American History. Made sugar cookies and delivered them to Haddie’s daycare for their Valentines party. Couldn’t take any to Bronc’s class because the school requires only boughten treats…as if grandma is going to poison a class of first graders.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Happy Valentines Day,
My husband always paints me a card on holidays and my birthday. I love the one he did for Valentines Day. The blue, white and red at the bottom is a dish that is holding the card up.

Weather is frigid here!! Very unusual, highs is in the single digits and forecast is 6 below tonight with lots of snow. It looks like it will be Friday or Saturday before it gets above freezing. I really get nervous in this kind of weather. I'm terrified the power will go out as I have no idea what we would do! I'm really sorry we didn't get a whole house generator put in last year. I procrastinated and then covid hit so decided to wait. My imagination is running amuck !

BJ, what a cute card your husband made.

I haven't freaked out yet about the power going off. We are suppose to have sleet and freezing rain tomorrow so guess it's a possibility. I could run the generator in the motorhome to run a heater but don't know if it would put out enough heat to help much. My experience with my generator is that the more I need it the less likely it will run. I ran it on my last trip but had a hard time getting it started. I have thought about getting one of the Buddy heaters that run on propane. We only have this much bad weather about every 10 years. The old house is so well insulated that it doesn't get lower than 50 degrees even with the kitchen window open 6 inches for the cats. I haven't had to go without heat in this house yet.

The hospital just called and I have an appointment for my first shot this Friday at 8:30. I'm so glad my friend told me to call them.

BJ, that card is adorable. Martha, congrats on the appt for your first shot. And, you also, Pat. Pat, I sure don't miss those cold winters. Brrrr!

I spent the afternoon cleaning the casita and completely moving almost all the furniture to different places. There's things I like better now and other things I liked from before. But the fact that it's a small area means I can easily move it around again if I want. I'll give this a chance for now. The only thing that didn't move is my high table and stools in front of my window overlooking the mountains.

Karen, I still haven't hung any of the pictures I brought to the casita last fall. I need to do that.

So many talented projects today. I did not inherit the "artsy fartsy gene". My Mom used to make all kinds of things. Stained glass lamps are one that comes to mind. I came home many times to marbles frying in the pan and the smell of resin LOL My cousin is an avid crocheter and quilt maker. She can barely turn on her computer tho and thats where I am ahead of the game. I am fairly techy. Got my first degree in computer science and did computer programming but that was when it took a freezing cold room the size of a small city block to operate. Then decided I wanted to go to nursing school. Turned out to be the better choice, I loved being a nurse. A programmer not so much LOL

Beth get those pictures up LOL actually only took me about 15 minutes, it was the motivation I had to kick into gear. Love your card BJ, super cute. Sandi you did a great job on a really interesting project. Something I hope your family will cherish and enjoy for many years.

It was a quiet day at work and yet the day went by really quick. Left without feeling sore or tired for a change! And in a better mood!

I got a fairly large check in the mail from the CA State Treasurer and I have no idea what it is for. I am so paranoid about scams because of my dad's situation. I think I will take it to the bank on Tuesday and ask them what they think. I wouldn't even know who to call to find out why it was sent to me. It doesn't say anything on the attached stub about what it might be for.

Got a notice from the IRS about the new $600 stimulus check I should be receiving soon. That will be directly deposited into my checking account. And one more unemployment check coming this week too. Will pay my bills for the month and put the rest in my savings. My paycheck this week will look pretty nice as well.

One more day of work and then a day off. Lots of things to do on Tuesday!

Winds were calmer today but will be picking up again tomorrow. Tons of palm fronds all over the ground this morning from last nights winds. Still way behind in rain here.

Am in bed early since there was nothing on TV tonight.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

because of the time difference I had to be up super early for on line church... both meetings then did some stuff on the computer and then it was nap time... felt good when I got up had chat mom sorta got on but not really either her picture was there but think she didn't figure out how to send anything... someone will need to help her remember how to do it I think if she is up to it next week my dd will be there .... she has her 2nd shot on Friday so my eldest is going up for the weekend going home on Sunday then my middle daughter will be there as she works the following week at the office (if I am remembering correctly) so she will hopefully be able to help her get on... then we did a last Blue Bloods show till caught up and then started on NCIS now it's computer time... for a few need to go to bed it might be warmer there... I was so cold this morning that I got back into flannel pj's and under the cover's didn't take long for the nap to take over...
you all have a good day
