Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Postby Liz » Tue Feb 09, 2021 10:23 am

Up at 5 a.m. for drive to Valdosta, GA for more reconstructive surgery on Bob’s nose, post cancer surgery. He’s all ready now, but we are still waiting his turn. He’s taking a nap before the longer nap under anesthesia. I wish they’d come and take him so I can find a restroom and then a cup of coffee and bite to eat.

Thunderstorms predicted off and on all day in the southeast. This is outpatient surgery, so will probably have to drive home through some of the storms....about an hour and a half drive.

That’s my itty bitty news for the day.

Thanks, Peggy. Nope, still waiting, but the dr. did pop in so it will be soon. He said today’s surgery will only be about 30 minutes, so I will just wait to eat later. Already found a restroom.

I split these posts off from Monday into Tuesday. Hope you don't mind.

Liz, I hope surgeries over and you can have something to eat. Will Bob be able to eat also?

I had a heck of a time getting to sleep last night, do you enjoyed the not being any alarm clocks. Just woke up a few minutes ago. And Ty is still under the covers with me.

Cloudy and hazy out and in low 50's. I'm sitting waiting for tree guy for estimate on removing eucalyptus. They are messy and prone to drop branches. Will see how many I can afford to get rid of. Sean was going to have his friends help do it, but haven't seen or heard from Sean and his phone ( which was on his fiancées account and likely her kids shut it off) has been disconnected. I sure hope I hear from hm soon though I know the process after her death is difficult, he still has tools here so hope he will pop back up soon. Rain here later in week we hope. Hope to get recycling done today once tree guy leaves. I need to exercise today. I skipped yesterday.
Hope Liz' husband does well with his surgery today and has an uneventful recovery. Hope Tina you have a good day, progress wise.
Mandy was not interested in her usual food this morning, so I opened a can of quail cat food and she gobbled it up. Guess even she gets bored at times. She slept next to my pillow last night. So nice to feel her warmth there. Gotta call a wholistic vet today after tree guy, for a consultation. Bit further away but hoping her nutrition ideas will help rather than the RX food which has what I consider crappy ingredients. I'd rather she be happy than starve because she sure didn't like the thyroid RX stuff.
Tree guy called, be here in 15 min.
Have a good day.

Liz, hope Bob's surgery was successful, is over by now & you'll be on your way home shortly dodging those storms.
Tina, good hearing from you... hope each day gets easier.

Didn't sleep much last night either. Got an amber alert from KS around 2AM, first a text then a phone call. Looking for a 32-year-old woman last seen close to where I used to live. Sounded like she is mentally disabled - said she wouldn't understand the danger of staying out in the cold (less than 10 degrees over night). Didn't mind getting the alert due to the situation - but once awake, I"m awake... :( Got a notice this morning that she had been found & was safe. :)

Spent the weekend driving back & forth to San Clemente. My son had rented a airbnb for a visit from KS son, granddaughter & Ex. They came to see DD before she leaves for France next week. I could have stayed there but prefer my own bed & bathroom (they only had 1 to share among the 6 of them). The weather was beautiful of course & it was a great time for them to bond with the 2 little grands out here. San Clemente is only 40 miles down the coast so a fairly easy drive.

Glad they're back up here now at my son's house though. 3 miles vs 40 is easier.
That's it for today.

Take care out there,

Yea, Tina is on the road. Glad you felt up to going to get something to eat.

Liz, hope you and Bob are home now and Bob is handsome again. My sister's granddaughter was suppose to have surgery this morning. She was ready to go in and the surgery before her's broke some machine they needed. I would not have been happy. I think I would chose somewhere that had more than one operating room. They rescheduled her for next week and she has been in pain for months. I had knee surgery years ago and had an epidural so wasn't completely out of it. I could hear the doctors arguing over which operating room they wanted.

I am cooling off after hauling the big vacuum out to the camper. I need to find a lighter one if I do that again. I decided to vacuum behind the sofa so that was a fight. I found a long compartment behind the sofa. I don't know what you could keep in it because it would not be easily accessible. I should put the carpet that I keep forgetting in there. I put it on my list for the last trip and still forgot it. The roads are so rough that the curtain between the living room and bedroom pulled out of the ceiling. Something else to fix.

My phone went off with an amber alert on my trip and scare the heck out of me. I couldn't figure out what was making that noise. There was one for a little girl that was abducted about 20 miles from here the other day. Two guys driving a trash truck saw the car in a field and blocked it in until the police got there. They probably saved the girls life.

It is 83 today. No wonder I got so hot. The weather men can't decide if it's going to get down to the 30's or the 20's this weekend. I sure hope it's not in the 20's. We are not prepared for that.

Yay Tina! Finally getting out and about a little!

Liz, my friend in Crystal River had some cancer removed from her nose several years ago and had to go back in for reconstructive surgery and she looks just fine and recovered pretty quickly. I am sure Bob will too.

Martha, that is so scary about that little girl! So glad those guys were paying attention and were able to help with her rescue! Those Amber Alerts really do help a lot!

Got up early and played golf. There were 9 of us today. We always have fun! It was cloudy out so not too warm this morning. It is still cloudy but feels really nice out.

Dave came by and put up the lattice around my deck for me. I am short one small piece. I am going to post on our community FB page and see if anyone has an extra leftover piece I could have so I don't have to buy a whole 'nother 8 feet of it. It looks nice and makes the deck feel a little more private. I put the faux flowers in the containers but was a little short on those too. I tossed out my tomato plant and some other small plants that died. I was about to toss the hanging strawberry plant too but noticed under the dead leaves that the plant still had some life left down by the dirt, so removed all the dead stuff and will see if I can revive the rest of it.

Went back to get my blood drawn for my hormone levels. Then stopped back at Hobby Lobby for some more faux flowers, had lunch at Taco Bell and came home. Finished up the little flower pots and now resting for a bit. Black kitty stopped by for some food. He/she is the only stray that comes around during the daytime. The rest come well after dark. Need to work on stuff inside for the rest of the day.

My tummy is still a little off, but feel more energetic today. Hope I can keep that going for the rest of the day. Then back to work tomorrow for the rest of the week and probably the weekend.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

On this one you can see the section on the very left side of the photo that still needs a small piece of lattice. I purposely am not putting lattice along the stair railing.

Good afternoon. Made the trek down to Medford 1 1/2 hrs. Weather is chilly here and no sun, pretty cloudy. I unloaded then ran over to get my hair cut, feels so much better now. Just fixed myself a bowl of soup and will just chill here in the room for now, might run over to the Dollar store and Walmart, but maybe not who knows.

Liz hope Bob's surgery went well and he is now on the road home and you got something in your tummy. Hope Bob was able to eat a bit too. Look at Tina go............driving to Wendys, hope she got a frosty, they are very good. Really good news Tina, keep it up. Glad Barbie is resting her tummy at Taco Bell ha ha

Ditto on being glad Tina actually got out. I'll bet she has been going stir-crazy being indoors for so many weeks and months. I remember when I had my second knee replacement and was recovering, one of my good friends came over and took me to Meijers, which is a Midwest grocery chain, sort of like Walmart, but a lot nicer. She got me an electric cart, and I actually did some shopping, but mostly it was so nice to just be out and breathing fresh air.

Unhooked and dumped my tanks today, then went to Walgreens to pick up a bunch of prescriptions and then to the Post Office to mail off goodies for grandkids. Younger ones in Ohio got a book and small stuffed animal each, plus some candy. Older two in California got homemade, frosted sugar cookies! (I kept a couple for myself and ate them for breakfast this morning!) Don't know what is wrong with my grandkids, but most of them don't really like chocolate candy, so I buy them things like skittles and gummy things. Can't imagine not liking chocolate!!

So, back in my camping spot at Dead Horse. Nice and quiet here, but got to get back to work. I have a mobile RV electrical specialist coming Thursday to try to fix my tail and running lights so I can drive after dark. I also am hoping he can replace my old backup camera with a new one I bought. The old one is mostly useless because everything looks various shades of grey and has been getting worse over the years. The new one is 7" wide and color. Yahoo!! Only problem is that it will have to join my GPS on the dash.

what exciting news Tina is out and about.... welcome news... even if it's just a trip to Wendy's
there is an ad on the radio station here in Q that I catch ever so often but not all of it... what I get is that there
is some sort of training for over the road drivers the big rig ones so that they can spot people kids in particular that have be
taken by human trafficking I think that the thought is that they are in places to spot and bring attention... quite a resource if it works
didn't accomplish much today .... can't bear to do it two days in a row  one day when I get home and can use the grandchildren will pull the couch out and vacuum behind and under it... there is more than one stuffed animal behind it
it was a cloudy day today not bad other than cloudy and cool enough that sweat shirt was needed...
it was taco Tuesday so went and grabbed Barbie's taco's pretty good did bring it home she doesn't give enough sauce for the 3 big taco's you get this way I had taco sauce to the taco's and salsa for the chips...
will need to go get the jugs filled up tomorrow have found if there is much of a breeze that it makes filling them hard it's easier to have two people helping with water...
we haven't seen much from Lyn hope all is well with her another MIA is Ava
Martha if you get a lighter weight vacuum look into the Shark picks up pet hair great and is so light weight ... love mine
you all have a great day

Tina, exciting. And I must say the only thing I think of at Wendy's is their frosty as Karen mentioned. Whatever you got I hope you enjoyed!

And I have exciting news. Everyday, several times a day, I go to the sites for all the local locations scheduling out Covid vaccines. I had a couple times today and for some reason just went on one of the pharmacies FB page one last time (where they requested we check to avoid tying up the phones) and lo and behold they had posted a link for new appointments. I got the first time listed... March 10th and am thrilled to have an appt. I'm still on the hospitals waiting list so if that comes up first, fine, but I was beginning to worry I wouldn't get in for both shots before leaving for my job. Yay! If course, they are scheduling based on the vaccines they are told they'll be receiving.

Time to walk Ty. I'll have to wake him first. But I've learned my lesson. If I don't want him licking my face in the middle of the night, he needs to potty now. Then he's so good that I can sleep in as late as I want.

Judy, I can't imagine not liking chocolate, either.
