Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good morning Everybody from cold but sunny CT.
I received the Pfizer vaccine shot yesterday in a drive through site set up at an old Pratt and Whitney airfield in East Hartford. The CT National Guard was doing the logistics and the entire process went smoothly and on time. Cooperation at its best. The nurse said my arm would hurt today, but so far it hasn’t.
I’m going to make a cheesy potato soup with some of the 10 pound bag of Yukon Gold potatoes I bought because they were
on sale! I gave some to my neighbor, but 10 pounds is a lot of potatoes!!!

Karen, I like the new photo of Emma. What a pretty little dog. Tina, I’m happy to hear that Lark is giving you lots of doggie love and attention. May you get stronger every day. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning all, Peggy, potato soup sounds wonderful, haven’t had any in years. Snow for tomorrow and messy weather conditions for the next couple of weeks. I’m getting tired of hauling that lavender plant in and out. Housekeeping chores for today. Fixing airfryer wings and pasta salad tomorrow. The latest news, sourdough bread is healthier than whole wheat, I do wish they would make up their mind. Walmart has a sourdough baguette that you bake at home . Will add that to tomorrow’s menu. That’s my itty bitty. Be safe

When I woke up at 7:30 and checked the temperature I saw 30 degrees, turned my heat up and crawled back under the covers. It's inching towards 40 now and should reach 70 this afternoon. This is another reason I sleep through mornings when I can.

I just realized this is produce morning at the hospital here. I probably should have gotten up. $12 for 70 lbs of produce! Of course I have no way to use it all and with covid not easy to share. So I'm not going to rush over, but it's sure tempting. I highly suggest you check to see if anyone near you is part of this program... P.O.W.W.O.W. (Produce on Wheels without Waste).

Meantime I'm still under the covers, but Ty has crept out so I'm guessing I'll be getting up shortly.

It was 38 this morning but I suspect it's up to 40, too comfy under covers to go look at my weather monitor. Mandy's blood test shows she has stage 2-3 kidney failure and a heart problem. So in a week or so I'll take her in for a echocardiogram. Suzie bird got her check up, nothing remarkable except arthritis in her feet and possibly another infection- she has had chronic respiratory issues her whole life. She goes in for a bubble bath Monday as her feet keep her on floor of cage a lot and she gets dirty walking on cage floor. My bank account took 3 sizable hits this week with car, cat, and bird. the echocardiogram for Mandy will be over $500! But I do what I can for my fur and feather kids. Thank goodness for savings account. As a result of it all I'm sure feeling down. Just gotta pick myself up and keep trudging along.

Velda, your not the only one who’s savings account took a hit with your furry and feathered friends. My two just cost me close to $370 for hesrtworm tests, one vaccination, mes for Pipers bladder infection etc.

The storm came and went and now it’s followed by Arctic air. 12 degrees at the moment here at noonish. I just came in from 2 and a half hours of cleaning up snow from the my neighbors drive, my dog yard, my drive etc. We only had about 4 inches from the storm here, but I was busy painting my bathroom yesterday and didn’t get out there till mid afternoon. Just did my drive and the dogs area in my yard and that was it. So today was more thorough job and we had 2 more inches last night. Cold and snow the word for next week. Typical winter weather.

Tina, that was great news you posted the other day. Looks like the end of the tunnel is approaching. Nothing like a little doggie love to go along with it. Pat, was good to hear from you. Miss your life on the ranch posts. Peggy, send some of that potatoe soup over here  The 30 and 40 degree weather some of you are having would be a heat wave here.

Dogs are bugging me for a walk, cold or not. But first want to put my bathroom back together. I have some mosiac stick in tiles to put up, but leaving that go for a couple days till paint hardens a bit more. So better get moving here.

Oh, Velda, I'm so sorry about Mandy's kidney and heart problems. I hope she can be maintained. Peaches had kidney problems for a long time, that we maintained for quite awhile. It's so hard to see our fur babies with problems. And, yes, we pay whatever we need to for them.

It's climbed to the mid 50's here and felt good walking Ty because the sun is warm and the wind from yesterday is gone. I think we'll do a long desert walk this afternoon as the temp keeps climbing.

It is cold here too, 34 when we were out around noon but temps are supposed to fall and be in the single digits at night and not above freezing during the day. UGH I'm making a pot of beef stew. On the bright side, Mitzi's leg is better and the vet guessed from the photo a cyst. The groomer said she had seen it and it looked like a mole and her older dogs get them. I won't tell Mitzi about the older part. :) I tend to go with her. It did look like a bite though so that was why I was a bit panicked. It is hard to get into a vet or a doctor!!
Pat so good to hear from you, I miss your stories too, especially Broncs adventures. I bet he is pretty grown up by now. I smile every now and then when I see you post thinking about the picture of him riding his pony through the bar.
Velda so sorry about Mandy and your bird, vets seem to be as expensive as doctors now.
Keep warm everyone in the cold and enjoy the weather for the rest of us if you are someplace warm!

Afternoon here. I overslept this morning didnt get up until 6:30. I had planned to put together a file cabinet I ordered. Unpacked it all, found the hardware, BUT where are the instructions...........nowhere to be found. None online, so I emailed the company. They better send me some or I am sending it back. So moved on to laundry, vacuumed, and hung another curtain rod in the 3rd bedroom. Cleaned the kitchen and popped a small pot roast in my Instant Pot. I am getting hungry so it should be done in 30 minutes.

BJ Emma has a couple of those cysts (per the vet) and one that looks just like yours ruptured about a month ago. She has two others but the vet said we would just leave them alone.

Sun is out but it is still chilly here only 50° I need 70's.

I am in that crowd that have a hard time getting out of bed when it's cold out... then it forms a habit and I have to admit to staying in bed way to long... part of the reason I don't get done what I should or need to... today I crawl out of bed take Shadow outside and sit and think over my day what I need to do and sorta plan it or not... then we went back it although not overly windy it was breezy and chilly... so still pondering the best plan of action I'll be two hours have gone by... finally I decide got to do something or I won't be able to get down what needs to be got gas got a shower then out to South LaPosa and got water... then back into town wanted a decent meal but wanted it late enough it would count for supper and to grocery store... when I came out of restaurant I noticed water lots of water by the truck should have looked to see why but didn't to grocery store wanted a ham steak for dinner tomorrow... home and hooked up the water pump yea me and realized that the source of leakage was the barrel wasn't closed tightly... I suspect that when I closed the tailgate that it knocked it open a bit... will have to push the barrel back further when I get water again... and got the hoses connected correctly and waited for the water to go into the tank and waited and waited and finally realized I'd not opened the connection that closes the barrel oops :? after that it ran quite well... and got me up to yellow will need to make another trip and finish filling it up but won't do that till later...in the week. I keep water bottles filled with water for the purpose of watering plants and bird water containers as well as Shadows water dish outside... and in the event that I run out of water in the tank which shouldn't happen now that I have a working pump...
while at the restaurant saw a sign saying not to put your phone on speaker... I always have my phone on speaker so I can hear better... so youngest called and I swiped you off texted back and told her I would call when I got home... after filling the tank and getting Shadow out I did so then barely hung up when eldest called... we chatted for quite awhile... had to go inside though as the sun was down and it was getting cold...
funny thing at Walmart yesterday I had this gentleman come up to me and say yes you have glasses on can you read this expiration date... laughed said sure and took off my glasses to read them... he was amazed you can see that without glasses on well yes some of us can do that...    my good deed for the day I guess...
thinking of going up to Vegas to see my sister she seems to think that we ought to celebrate Valentines day together...it was never a big deal in our house (my husband's and mine) need to take nephew's afghan up to him anyway... should see about getting Shadow an appointment with the vet... he is due for a shot and heart worm test so he can get more med's still has a few months on what I have... quite frankly I'm not sure what I will do his quality of life is really going down hill.. not sure what I will do and when...
well that is my do nothing day
you all take care

Good evening!

Was back to a usual Saturday today as far as business goes at work. Even got the back of my hair cut. I am growing it out to an A-line bob again, so I am just getting the back clippered short and leaving the front to grow out a little longer. I can no longer style the back of my hair because of my shoulder so it is best to just keep it really short.

Stopped on the way home at In 'N Out for a burger, fries and a chocolate shake. The burger was just so-so, the fries were awful, and the shake was sweet and creamy and very good. Luckily, I didn't have to wait too long in the drive-thru line. I checked it out last night and the line was about 2 blocks long! Their food definitely isn't worth waiting that long for, even tho it is cheap.

Lola and I now fight over my heating pad! She loves it, so I guess I need to get her a heated cat bed. She is still sleeping next to my pillow at night which makes me happy. Maybe by the time she is 20 years old, she will finally be OK with snuggling with me!

Those of you in the cold, stay bundled up and warm! We are in the upper 70's to low 80's here, which is actually about 10 degrees above average.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
