Cloudy, Chilly Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cloudy, Chilly Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Jan 29, 2021 9:15 am

Good morning. Heard my name called, so thought I had better check in. Been a bit busy this week in a way. Been running to Lowe’s and Home Depot for paint chips. Doing some online research in colors that I’m interested in as want to see what their undertones and LRV’s are before I decide. Picked the color for my bathroom and will be painting that today. Won’t take long as it’s a small room. Doing the taping takes longer than anything. Am now playing the paint chips on the wall game in my living room.

Finally was able to get my pre op and follow up from edicare Wellness checkup done yesterday. Originally had the Wellness checkup one scheduled for first part of this month, but then found out after that one was scheduled, that I would need another one for post op. Didn’t want to have to go in twice. Post op one can’t be more than 30 dsys from post op date which is end of next month. Been playing the try to get a hold of lab game for past month to reschedule. Very frustrating. Finally connected the other day and earliest available date was Feb. 5th, no problem other than late morning and it is a fasting diet, so meant a bit of a long haul with no food. Then she also told me the docs keep forgetting to tell patients the our walk in clinic lab is open, no appts. Necessary  So I opted for that, went in yesterday, got registered, spent an hour waiting in my truck burning gas to keep heat on, got the test done finally :) Not hospitals fault, Covid has everything operating differently.

Had planned to paint yesterday, but remembered after getting paint day before, forgot to get roller cover. So after blood test, got that, went to Walmart and also had a urine sample from Piper to take to vet ahead of appt. next eeek. She doesn’t always cooperate when you need one the dsy before or day of thing  Just got home and vets office called about an hour later, said she has bladder infectiontion, so had to run back up to get prescription  So went the day. Did finish up bit of paint taping in bathroom though.

Tina, thanks for posting. Have been thinking of you. Hope you keep improving and get back to your normal GHL self. O’Sharon, fate was playing out for you the other day. I’ve had things like that happen, where I wound up changing plans and find out later that something happened where I could have been in right place at wrong time. Barbie, hope you get to feeling better. I’m sure I’m missing others, but know I do read and think about you. Right now the brain is on getting dressed and getting the painting started.

Have a nice dsy all, Stsy safe from the Covid and those of you on CA, from the storm, rains, floods etc.

Good morning Sue and Everybody else from freezing CT.
We have beautiful sunshine, but it’s way too cold to enjoy being outside.
Sue, you are always busy making your home beautiful.

Tina, thanks for checking in and giving all of us a progress report. I’ll pay more attention when my body tries to tell me something....

No itty bitty news, so I’ll wish everybody well. Peggy

Good Morning, hey Tina, thanks for progress report. Think of you often.....
I continue to do nothing. Still not drinking enough liquids. Nothing appeals to me.
Looking for a place to get a haircut. I look like a wild woman today. I want it short all over.
I don’t think we had much rain from what was supposed to be a super storm. Sun is out now.

Good morning gals :D

Still feel crappy this morning but at least I know it isn't Covid. I am planning to go in to work tomorrow. I am only scheduled until 2, so if I don't feel good I could always leave early. Same with Sunday. They didn't schedule me to close either day. I think my main issue now is lack of energy and getting tired quickly.

Just need to make myself eat a little more today to give me some energy. Need to get a few things done today, including getting all my work equipment together and clippers charged up.

We had some rain overnight but nothing heavy. Sunny and breezy today so far. I think the storm system didn't get as far south as they thought it would. So far no reports from LA of major mudslides so that is good. Lots of new snow in the mountains tho. Another storm heading here for Tuesday. As long as it doesn't cause destruction, we sure need the rain!

I tried talking to the black kitty last night when I put the food out and he just hissed at me but seems to be more comfortable coming out from hiding when I am out there. Baby steps. The tabby showed up later. I put out 3 bowls in different places so they don't have to fight if they come at the same time.

Finally got my tags for my house and Jeep so I need to get those put on the plates, especially on the Jeep. Almost 2 months late on that.

Have a good day!

So Barbie your little hormone insert doesnt seem to be helping you much over the last few weeks. You always seem tired. Are you taking Vitamin D?? Since I live in a basically not much sun state I take it every day. I seem to have energy in the morning, then eat lunch and I am done LOL As long as I get something done each day then I feel okay about the lazy afternoons.

Spent this morning breaking down all my cardboard boxes and bagging all that damn styrofoam. Took it over to the dumpsters, then went to Fed Ex to return a package. Lovely sunshiny day so far BUT rain and snow are coming back tomorrow. Going to fix pizza for lunch with a small salad. Yup that will work just fine.

Karen, my being tired now is due to being sick and not eating much. I am taking a vitamin D3/K2 suppliment. I think the past couple months I have been more lazy than tired. I have actually been sleeping much better since I got the hormone pellets. I need to go in for another blood panel next week to see where my hormone levels are now.

Glad to hear it then. I was worried about you. Just eat small frequent meals. Hope you kick whatever you have quickly now.

It's nice and sunny and up to 70 but feels cooler than that. I went and had lunch with Harold's daughter that lives in Lafayette. Technically my step-daughter. Harold's kids with his first wife were grown when we got married so only saw them occasionally at their grandmother's house. It's been so long since I have been to Lafayette that I saw new businesses that have been built and are up and running. I forgot how bad the traffic is. I wanted to go to Lafayette to pick up a King Cake to take to the campout. There is a new big liquor store that I thought was in the same parking lot as the cake place but I couldn't find it. I didn't need more wine anyway.

Barbie, glad your test was negative. You probably just caught a stomach bug or ate something bad. Several months ago that happened to me. I ran a 100 degree fever for 24 hours and my intestines felt like they were fighting with what ever I had eaten. The blood bank is testing blood for Covid antibodies and I have come back negative twice. You should see me feed the outside cats. There are about 10 bowls and pans that I put the food in. They run from pan to pan like the next hand full will be different and better.

Lyn, you should get a Flow Bee and you could cut your own hair.

I better go walk Sugar before the temperature starts dropping. They keep saying it's going to get into the 30's but it hasn't.

I've been cutting my own hair for a year now. I don't say it's always good, but I can say I've paid for worse cuts at times. Groceries picked up and put away. I still need to cut a piece of meat into pieces according to how I'll use it. I'm thinking on that. My hose is hooked back up wrapped. It got quite windy and I had things blowing away so quit before getting the water filter wrapped. That'll be easy and it's not due to freeze the next several days so I have time.

Been dark and cloudy here until a short while ago. Rained early but none since. I went to local grocery store and got what we need for 10-14 days. Son decided he was hungry for hot dogs, so hot dogs it is. I dont eat the bun but will make chaffles using egg and cheese to wrap mine in. Managed to come up with at least 7 dinner menus each running 2 nights, so at least I won't be paying for him to order pizzas ( I'm in charge of his SS income, which is why i say I pay).
Got part of Mel's desk top cleared and Chris will investigate which items we found are outdated so far they will be recycled and which we might use or sell. Big heavy monitor still remains which I'll need help carrying out. Remember when a 17 in monitor weighed 40-50 lbs? Mel just kept using it, year after year finding ways to make it still work. I want the real estate of the desktop back!
Next week, on seperate days I take Suzie bird for her checkup and Mandy cat for her blood draw and check, plus need to see if Les Schwab can inspect tires and brakes on my PT as I realized it was 2016 when tires were last replaced. Tred was good then and is now and mileage low, but between sun and heat they were shot and breaking down on inside . We were having tires slow leak and one day on way home from his last radiation appt , I pulled in to have them look. Tires looked fine from outside. They pulled it in and raised it up and had us come look. The inside of each tire was seperating. We had just finished 45 straight days of freeway to Sacramento and back for radiation! Car only had 20,000 miles and tires were 6 years 6 mo old. Shock to say the least! We Had new tires put on immediately. And I've had them checked at least twice a year, but time tells me they need closer look. Car now has almost 35,000 miles and is a 2010, God looked out for us those 45 days!
Those are my big plans for coming week.

just simply a lazy day and don't even feel bad about it... I would think of something to do and think naw don't want to do it and didn't did get gas in the generator and did go to the porch look at pictures and say something and leave... I went late hoping that most of the people would be gone boy were they no one there but family and a couple friends helping... guess it rained hard and got cold ... it's funny we had a bit of rain but not a lot and over soon... but in town got it harder... did read does that count decided to take a nap (that I could agree to) and got to thinking about my friend who was sick today... she was dizzy couldn't stay standing up sick to her stomach and had a headache. So while I was thinking of her thought wonder if it's cause her propane went out... called another friend talked it over with her... called the sick friend back and told her I thought she ought to open up her house and air it out... she told me that she would that her propane went out at 10:30 but wasn't about to go out and switch tanks... when she went to bed felt fine but when she woke up was just not doing well... had a neighbor switch tanks for her then fell over trying to start the pilot light on the heater so laid on the floor for quite awhile .... I really think it was the propane but don't know for sure she left the doors open for a couple of hours still had a headache but over all was feeling better... so my little bit of helping today...
one of my friends has a theory on the "lights" possibly reflection from the moon on to side of a motor home or solar panels if solar panels would think they are aimed the wrong way... and it looks like lights last night they were "on" earlier than usual... oh well one of those things to occupy the time :?
you all take care and we well hope for warmth!!! it was so cold today that even the throw wasn't warm enough
finally started up the buddy got temps up to 72 tuned it down to low and now it's starting to drop... will need to turn it up soon..

Wrapping my hose today I cut a finger. On the tip. It's kept me from showering or doing dishes as even bandaged just a tad of water starts it bleeding again and requires rebandaging. What a pain and entirely my own stupidity. I'm hoping it'll allow me to do things tomorrow. It's not painful just a location that bleeds easily. Worst is I go another day without showering. I don't get closer enough to anyone for anyone to complain. Lol
