Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Postby Shirlv » Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:05 am

Good morning all, still cold and a dusting of snow last night. No special plans for today. Have another mail problem. Check mailed December 6 still hasn’t arrived at destination. Bank is not charging stop check fees because of numerous mail delivery complaints. Going to have sweet potato fries with ham and cabbage tonight. That is the only excitement in my life today. Be safe

Good morning Shirl.

I just woke up for golf and still not feeling good. That and it being 31* outside right now  , I decided to pass on playing golf this morning. Also I was up until around 3am with indigestion so I haven't had a whole lot of sleep, so will try to get back to sleep for a few more hours.

Back to bed... will catch up with you all later!

Barbie, maybe you should give your Primary a call. You have had indigestion since yesterday.

32 degrees here. The ground already absorbed the little bitty overnight snow but my car windows are white still. I'm not going anywhere so those will melt on their own also. I'm looking forward to seeing if the mountains are covered, but that means going out. (I have windows available facing 3 directions. Those are the only direction I have no windows from my rig.) I made split pea soup yesterday and am looking forward to another serving for lunch today. It'll get colder tonight (low 20's) before we start slowly warming up tomorrow. Shirl, that meal sounds good. I might do some variation of that for dinner.

Barbie, I agree with Shirl. Maybe get that checked out?

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning all. It’s a messy day outside today...a little snow but a fair amount of ice. One of the main routes out of town is closed due to an accident this morning. I had an appointment this morning that direction but had to cancel it which I’m glad I did. Apparently I wouldn’t have been able to get there. I had a weekend like no other....the remote on my tv in the kitchen messed up and I got a no signal message. Phone call to Xfinity decided I needed a new remote. So Saturday a trip to their store but no luck with it. Saturday afternoon they said I needed a new cable box so another trip on Sunday and the guy at the store issued me a new modem too. So long story short and another phone call on my cell since I now had nothing and they decided I needed a tech visit. Surprisingly lady scheduled it for this afternoon. I’m not thrilled to have someone in the house but also would like to have my services back so I’ll deal with it. Did I mention I love technology? This is all beyond my knowledge anymore. Used to feel like I understood it all but not anymore! Now the next question is if the tech can get here this afternoon. If he can’t it totally understandable with the weather like it is. So that is what’s happening in my world. I did spend some time looking for vaccine sites and on a couple of wait lists so we shall see. The sites are there but either haven’t gotten any yet or they’ve run out. So will just continue being careful. My son is back to work after two negative tests so apparently it was all the sinus infection and reaction to the antibiotics. Needless to say, a relief. The weather all over the country seems really crazy this week so take care and stay safe. And warm!

Shirl, I like sweet potato fries but have never cooked them at home. There are several restaurants here that serve them as a side dish. A local company makes a product called Sweet Treat which is sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. It makes the sweet potato fries so good. I should try making cinnamon toast with the Sweet Treat some time. My mother made cinnamon toast almost every morning when I was growing up. I think that is the only breakfast she could get down us before school.

Yes, Sheila, the Cheez-It Chips are called Snap'd. They taste a lot like the little crackers but might be a little cheesier.

I'm having trouble with the TV I watch the most. The sound will go off and the only way I can get it back is to change the channel. I don't know if it's the TV or the Direct box. The TV is on a table and if a cat walks across the table in front of the TV it will turn off. I hate technology too.

It looks like it's going to be another warm day. I think I'm going to have to turn on the air conditioner. I heard it raining several times last night but it looks like all that has moved off. The tornado in Alabama sure made a mess.

No plans for today. If I don't clean house soon I'm going to have to use a shovel.

The recipe book that came with Chefman Airfryer said coat sweet potato fries in Parmesan. I really like sweet and salty so will try that. I’m really getting adventurous in my old age.

Good morning to all from sunny Mazatlan. Had to laugh we were complaining about how cold it was here last night around 60 with strong wind. Then this morning I watched the TV from Vegas.

Going to be 80 here tomorrow. But cloudy. Guess we can put up with that. Still only a few of us here in the RV park 5 rigs and 2 will be leaving to go south as soon as they finish there mechanical repairs. Covid rates in Mazatlan remain low. Surprising how protocols are being used. Very few without masks, except on national tourists holidays.
We are being careful. Always wear masks, even in car. Carry sanitizer and use all the time. Have been able to find Lysol spray, lysol wipes and alcohol so stocking up for when we get hoem.
Every one stay safe .

Good morning everyone, and those who follow.

I hustled around last night and got all of my outside hose spigots covered against the predicted "hard freeze warning".

Some of the predictions said it might get down to 25 degrees or so (at 4:00 a.m. it was still 32 - yes, it was an "insomnia night"). I didn't have any of the foam pipe insulation, so just leaned up a couple of spare bags of steer manure against the side of the house where the hose spigots are, with a bag on top. Kind of a "steer manure fort" (I'm sure the neighbors will talk) to protect my water pipes - although it didn't get cold enough to damage the pipes anyway.

As for the Tuesday forecast of "rain - heavy at times". . . well, not so much. :( It is bright and beautiful outside, with not a cloud in the sky, although it is a touch chilly at probably around 50 degrees or so. Probably will warm up into the mid-60's.

Maybe it will rain tonight. Or maybe not. We shall see.

Good morning from sunny northern California ! It's in low 40's, last night at midnight it was 32. The predicted big storm isn't here yet, but I remain hopeful. Today is trash day, so maybe I can fill up the big bins, if I get moving. Gotta get my workout in too. Just nothing exciting here. Barbara, time to see a Dr! Normally for occasional indigestion, I'd say try real apple cider vinegar with the mother culture in it, but you are having too long an issue. Stay safe all amd do a rain dance on our behalf!

Good afternoon. I was busy this morning, put a small table for my bedroom together. Bagged up all the dang styrofoam they packed my lamps in. Broke down several cardboard boxes so they are ready to go be recycled soon. Hung a few pictures on the walls, then vacuumed. Made myself a taco salad for lunch as I thought I better start using my taco bowls I bought before they go stale.

I was going to go to Costco, Walmart and Home Depot today............but the wind is blowing and the temp outside is 34° so decided...........nah tomorrow is a whole new day. So now I sit in my recliner with my heated throw and my Caramel mocha............working for me.

Good afternoon,

It finally got above freezing for a few hours. Light snow. Finally getting the winter I expected. Trying to keep propane use low so will be lots of time under the heated throw - wish I had a caramel mocha! :)

I'm not too happy with the postal service right now either. One day they can't deliver a package, next day tracking says delivered. But....the package they delivered was to my daughter from another company!

Thinking of Tina!

Karen, if a taco bowl starts going stale, I've learned it is fine after a minute or so in the air fryer.

I just brushed Ty and not much is coming out of his mohawk. And it's thick! I guess this is really winter for him.

Well, it has clouded up pretty good since this morning's sunshine. The wind is gusting, and the temps have dropped, so there really might be some rain coming.

Keeping fingers crossed.

I didn't fall asleep until around 5:00 a.m. Slept until about 8:30. Tons of stuff to do around here, but I feel like a zombie. So I guess I'll just watch some tube.
