While I attended the bluegrass festival this past weekend I took a side trip to Clayton, NY to visit the Antique Boat Museum.

This is the main entrance building...

A large collection of antique boats of all styles is housed there...

picture the gentleman rowing and the lady relaxing in the wicker chair in the stern!

In 1986 I was fishing on Lake Placid in the Adirondacks and there were a lot of antique boats particpating in a regatta there. I took a picture of the "Snail"... and here it was!

The La Duchesse is a huge houseboat from the "gilded age"... (http://www.abm.org/laduchesse.asp) check it out!

the piano on upper deck,..those windows raised up and fastened by chains to the dancehall ceiling so the piano music could be used for dancing!
