Good morning All, another chilly sunny morning. Porch friend is feeling good after Pfizer vaccine. She had a slight headache which didn’t require medication. Karen, so happy you have mattresses but now I have nothing to look forward to. What will we talk about. Lol. Barbie have a safe fun trip. No news. Be safe

Morning Shirl and all who follow. Night before last Ty had a bad night ... Not sure what he ate to cause it but he got me up every couple hours to go out and threw up once in the rig. So it was wonderful that we got to sleep through the night. Well it's impossible for me to not have at least one potty wake up, but those I can go right back to sleep. Yesterday after the plumber returned we came up with a plan for my hot water heater. It's going to remain disconnected for the time being. I got 3 loads of laundry done and fixed 2 pressure cooker meals. The reason I hurried back here was for the vaccine. Turns out the county won't have enough for what was planned, so now I'll start checking other sources.

Good morning Shirl, Beth and everyone!

Shirl, I keep checking the weather in your neck of the woods to show me that we're still a little warmer than you. Lol!

Beth, so glad Ty is feeling better now and glad you figured something out with the water heater. You reminded me that I need to get a load of laundry going.

Karen, your new bed and bedroom look so nice! Let us know if you got the dresser.

It was 43 when I got up, now it's 57 and our high will be around 60 with sunshine. The heat pump is still running but tonight we'll have to switch over to our auxiliary diesel heat, as the heat pump blows cold air if we get around 40 and the low is supposed to be 38. That's just wrong.

We went riding yesterday down country roads and found a historic country store with lots of old, neat inventory.

Stay safe everyone.

Irmi, neat picture, I love country roads. I can’t handle the heat any more so am loving Maryland temperatures. Not crazy about snow and ice but the winters have been mild and not a problem. Since I am an armchair traveler now please keep posting pictures. Karen has a mattress so I have to depend on your casita. :D

Good morning everyone.
I cannot believe it is mid-January already. The park is filling up with more and more out of state visitors. There are only a few spots that remain open. Since I refuse to take part in the activities here at the park, I have been exploring the Tucson area. I went to the East Section of Saguaro National Park, drove the Loop Drive and found another new to me cactus, the Staghorn Cholla. It was showing signs of blooming so I will return again this week.

My bubble is two couples that I met here last year. We gather outside and practice social distancing. Tomorrow we will have a Salmon BBQ.

Irmi, your roadtrip looked like fun.

Quartzsite begins this weekend. Still pondering the possibility of going over for a few days mid-week. It sounds as though social distancing will not be a problem in Sheila's area.

That's it for my itty bitty news.
Yall keep healthy and safe.

Hi Brenda! We have our small bubble of friends as well. If we go out for a meal, which is very seldom, they have to provide outside seating or we don't go.

One more picture for Shirl and others. This is one wall of the inside of the casita the day the insulation was hung.

Good morning everyone.

I'm going to Disneyland today.... for the vaccine. Was lucky enough to get an appt by logging on a couple of mornings ago @ 6am. Going up to mid-80's today & looks like they have folks stand in the parking lot in line for around an hour so will take an umbrella & use sunscreen.

Got my DD moved up here Thursday. We laughted our heads off as we watched a youtube on how to use a rachet strap  My DD was getting frustrated since we got the bed down to the van so easily but then took about a half hour trying to figure out how to secure it. But hey, we are women & got the job done! :D By the time we got up here & unloaded most everything we didn't have much strength left. Thankfully 2 different guys walked by at just the right time to help us get the heavier pieces down a few steps so we could use our 4-wheel dolly for the rest of the way to my unit. Spent yesterday integrating some of her stuff with my household items & finding storage spots for bins of their things they eventually will want to take with them.

Glad you got your mattress, Karen. love your bed - looks so nice!
Beth, good to hear about your upcoming job in Utah. Hope Ty is better today. Bummer about your hot water problems.
Judy, you've been busy getting your rig fixed up. Bet it feels good to get that all taken care of.
Barbie, hope you have a lovely birthday weekend.

Another do nothing day. I really need to vacuum but have to run the roomba first to pick up all the hair. It's a little cool today, 56 but at least the wind died down. There was a cat bed on the front porch and I don't know where that went. It must be in the yard somewhere. I think it's suppose to get down to the lower 30's tonight.

Beth, hope Ty is feeling better. I have to watch Sugar when she is outside because she will try to eat anything she finds. Sugar is still on medicine for bronchitis. As soon as it gets dark she wants to lay outside. I only let her stay out for a few minutes when it cold. She goes to the vet Monday for her annual checkup. Hard to believe that I have had her for almost a year.

Irma, my Louisiana camping group likes to go to thrift stores and junk stores. That's about the only time I go to one. I try to not buy anything but a lot of the time I come home with a cookbook. I won't pay more that $5 so that limits my buying.

I made reservations for the May campout this morning. Wish I was making reservations for the vaccine shot. Catherine, my son and I had a laugh about ratchet straps when we picked up the metal that had blown in after the hurricane. Someone had posted on FB about "Rat Shit" straps for sale. I think they will always be called that now. lol

Wish I could get the vaccine! And, Brendac, I will be in Tucson at Gilbert Ray in last week of January, so are you still going to be around there?

It was really windy when I woke up this morning--like 35-40 MPH and shaking my motorhome. I was planning to go grocery shopping today, but think I will postpone it to tomorrow. It has calmed down a tiny bit, but the big problem is blowing sand. I was able to take a walk at dusk yesterday, but would not even consider it since trying a walk on Thursday and getting a lot of sand in my eyes! No ground cover at all here, so nothing to keep sand down. I was glad to get a shower that day to get the sand ojut of my hair! Nice and warm, however. Supposed to be better tomorrow.

Judy, I should be there, barring any unforseen circumstances.

I left around 8:30 this morning. My new GPS has a mind of it's own! I set it for a straight shot to Santa Monica and it kept trying to get me to turn off the freeway in different places. It did send me off onto a different freeway which I quickly realized was wrong. When I pulled off the next exit to turn around, it tried to send me into a residential neighborhood! I finally just figured out how to get back on the freeway I was supposed to be on. Finally made it to Santa Monica. The traffic wasn't bad until I got there and then it bogged down along the coast up thru Malibu. GPS was still trying to get me to turn left into the ocean!! As much as I love the beach, that was not my destination at that point. The 101 is now a big new freeway up there! Haven't been that way for 10 years and it has really changed. But finally made it to Santa Barbara to my motel. I love my room! I have a nice patio next to a grassy area with lawn chairs and a nice view of the beach and ocean! Lots of flower gardens here too! Highs around 80 for the next 5 days.

I have a list of things I would like to do but I am very tired from my drive so I think I will just go sit outside and relax for the rest of the day. I had a headache and a sore back when I got here. Just ate my lunch (turkey sandwich) on the patio.

They seem to be taking the Covid restrictions pretty seriously here so that is good. Same restrictions as back home. Only take out dining allowed.

Oh, I was driving thru Oxnard and past lots of strawberry fields. Then I saw a guy selling fresh-picked strawberries along the road so I stopped and bought a half a crate full. They are huge, red, sweet and juicy!!

I hope Tina is doing better. I have seen a couple of posts from her on FB.

Have a good night! I know I will!

I'm back. Disneyland sure knows how to deal with lines & crowds! Everything was extremely well organized & people moved thru the process fairly quickly. Lines were in the shade. My appt was for 11:30. I was done by noon. The shot itself didn't hurt much at all. They have folks wait 15 minutes afterwards in case you have a reaction, but that is self-governing. Some actually left right away. I waited, left & went to the grocery store.

I got the Moderna vaccine so I get the 2nd one in 28 days.

Hope your experience is as easy as mine was - once you can get an appointment, that is. ;)

I love your dressers! Something I would pick out for sure!

I decided to drive down to the visitors center and get some brochures and maps. Unfortunately, they were closed up. But since I was there, I decided to walk down one block to the wharf. Walked down to the end of it and took pics. There were some souvenier shops open so I went into one and bought some fudge. They also had boxes of Frango mint chocolates. I haven't seen those in years and they are SO yummy! I bought a box and it turns out they are half price. I may have to go back and get another one before I leave. Pretty much everyone I saw on the wharf and at the beach were all wearing masks. The shops were letting only a certain amount of people in at a time. I had thougth about going to Laguna Beach instead but I have heard that people there (orange county) are not following the restrictions very well so I was afraid to go there. Glad people around here are taking it so seriously.

Now that the traffic noise from the beachgoers is gone, I can hear the waves crashing on the beach. Will be wonderful to listen to all night! There is a light on my patio so I might go sit out there for awhile.
