Monday Again

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Again

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jan 11, 2021 8:46 am

Morning all. Nothing much on the breakfast menu this morning as I need to go shopping today. Just eggs, and ham or bacon. As for me, just a Protein Shake.

LOL Shirl. I always joke about the paper reduction act. Hah, never see the reduction, although being my bills all come and are paid electronically, no paperwork there. Fortunately I have a file drawer to keep mine in and it gets weeded out every year.

Nothing new here. Winter has gone south it seems, but it will be back. New Microwave is in town. Supposed to pick up at Home Depot, but noticed on my tracking info, it’s out on a Fed Ex truck for delivery. Don’t know what that’s all about, unless they mean delivery to Home Depot. Will find out eventually as I’m going there anyway.

Nixed the bedroom painting for now as can’t decide on color, so am going after the living room instead. Getting tired of colir in here. Going for paint chips today is on my agenda.

Thinking of booking another camping trip, looking into mid July. First one is a Memorial Day weekend. Have to wait till tomorrow as can only book out 6 months to the day and since this will be a two park trip, with an overnight at one for coming and going, other one can’t be booked till tomorrow. Time to head up to the Keweenaw Peninsula and do more exploring. MI parks are going to be busy again this year.

Have a nice day everyone, no matter where you are or what you are doing.

Sue, that sure sounds like they're delivering to you. I've never received tracking info for something to the store. It'll be interesting to hear what the outcome is.

I actually did good at getting up this morning but it's too windy to want to get on the road. It's supposed to lessen in the next couple hours, at least enough for me to be willing to drive. Everything's set... Just need to unplug and hook up the car. The wind sure made it cold walking Ty.

Shirl, they don't care if you're late for your pick up orders, they hold them, usually all day, if necessary.

Late last night, I got a text from Sean, my handyman, whose girlfriend has been hospitalized since Dec 8 with CoVid complications. The hospital has done all it can do... They expect to take ventilator off today and let her go, as no respiratory effort on her part is expected. Sean, as expected, is devastated. In her early 60's, but a type 2 diabetic in denial, her loss will affect many people, including the newest Grandaughter, born the day Darenda went on ventilator. I am so sad for Sean and the family, she so loves.
I was going to Costco, but am holding , until I hear from Sean.

I want to go to Walmart but it's cold. It rained during the night Saturday and last night. I'm sure glad the grass isn't growing because I wouldn't be able to mow for 2 weeks. There are pictures of snow in Louisiana all over FB. My sister lives mid-state and it didn't make it down to her house.

The paper reduction act didn't make it to my house. It has gotten better since I moved the tax file drawer within arms length of my desk. I burned the oldest tax files so have a box to put 2020 in. Need to make the folders for 2021. It never ends.

My skin is about to itch off. I quit using soap with perfume and started using Dove Unsented but I'm still scratching. All I have is hand lotion so have been using that. Will have to look at Walmart for something else.

I don't know what CC was doing this morning but he got behind the washer and dryer and couldn't get out. I thought one of the outside cats was trying to come in the dryer vent. I had to help him out and get a stool to make sure he didn't destroy the dryer vent. I had a metal dryer vent but the guys that put the washing machine in tore it up. I don't like the flimsy paper one they put.

I have to go to town because one of the medicines Suger takes is almost out. For some reason it is in short supply so hope the vet has some. I called her other prescription into Walmart. Just hope I remember to pick it up.

Beth, hope the wind lets up so you can get on the road. Morning is usually when the wind is the lightest so hope it doesn't get worse. My group is talking about the upcoming campout and makes me want to go. Just hope I can resist. I would like to get my shot before I go anywhere but it's not looking good. Velda, so sorry to hear about your friend.

Whew! Good for another couple weeks. I have always hated shopping until curbside pickup. My aging legs and mind is so grateful. :D The personnel at the local Walmart are efficient, polite and cheerful. Now if I can find a way for someone else to get the groceries from my car to the apartment  Beth, it isn’t about Walmart it’s me, I said I would be there and I try to keep my word. Next time I won’t make it early.

one of the things on my to do list was call and see what the cost for the tags for the fifth wheel is thought that the phone number would be on the reminder card for the truck nope wasn't there referred to web site hate going through web sites  so that isn't done will have to look into it when I get through here... if too complicated will google and find the phone number that way... if I'd thought of that would have done it today  I did however get my dishes done that is a plus...
have another neighbor pulled in where the big haulers usually are was outside with Shadow they waved and I thought were headed this way so thought I would go and be friendly... but instead the person turned and went a different direction so didn't go meet them... think only one person but not sure of that...
the lights are gone... weird for sure but that is the way it goes
we had strong winds this morning making it not enjoyable to be outside too long... I think whatever swooshed through the other day sure scared the birds not as many not eating as much hopefully they will get over their fear...
saw a roadrunner today have seen more this year than all the years combined
So sorry Velda for your friend
assume that Beth made it to her casita ok ... where is Barbi haven't seen her for a day or two hopefully she is feeling ok
on the radio here they have a program that mentions articles in old time newspapers... today was telling about a 16 year old who was in a town got friendly with a gal out to scam him only they picked the wrong guy... he ended up killing the other person they had put their mark on a kid that at 16 had killed 5 already in his life time if I remember the number right... it sorta blew me away killed his first at 15... right now can't remember his name but think it is John W something Holden perhaps I was waiting for them to say it was Billy the Kid...
well that is enough for a do nothing day perhaps tomorrow I will actually get something done

Velda, that is such sad news. And Shirl, I totally understand. The first time I wasn't going to make my hour, I called and that Walmart was so nice. And they told me not to worry about it, that they hold it till evening. Safeway, you pick your time and the email you get back says from the time you pick until 8 pm. So I didn't get worried today when I was late leaving. I hope these stores keep pick up forever. I much prefer it.

Then I totally screwed up. I knew checkout was noon so about 11:30 am I decided I had to get going. Pulled the rig out, hooked the car up and off I went. My phone was ringing 5 minutes later and I was on the interstate already. The park was calling ... I forgot to stop in the office to pay my electric. Duh. Anyway, she laughed. I eventually laughed. I got a check in the mail this afternoon. The wind was mainly a head wind so didn't bother me so much but I won't check mileage from today lol I'm plugged into electric and have cable to the rv. I turned the power on to the casita and turned the fridge on but that's it. Ty got a decent walk before dusk and the cold came in so nothing else got done. Sheila, thanks for the reminder. My tags were mailed to my box in Texas. I need to have my mail forwarded so my car and rv are legal before these run out the end of the month.
