Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good morning Everybody, Shirl are you sleeping in???
I’m making blueberry waffles this morning, and there will be enough for everybody. Help yourself.
Reading and Netflix comprise my day. Oh, and a 15 minute walk. Will this ever end. Some days are harder to enjoy. Peggy

Good morning Peggy and Everyone, I am so glad you opened because I am in a rotten mood. Wasn’t going to share the reason but here goes I don’t do mornings but got busy yesterday preparing pork roast for crockpot. Patted myself on the back, Brother was going to have a good dinner. Promptly at 3:30 started packing up to deliver, took the lid off crockpot. I never turned the &$#*%+ on. Beautiful roast sitting in pot for 5 hrs uncooked. Called brother and he was a sweetheart. Spent the rest of the night nursing my wounded pride. Glad I have a stocked freezer because I am in the kitchen early AGAIN. Needed 2 cans sauerkraut, the &$#%* can opener wouldn’t work. Banged the opener with a hammer and everything is in the pot and I did turn it on. Will drop yesterday’s roast in the dumpster, don’t need food poisoning. Half afraid to leave the building. IT WILL GET BETTER Be safe

Good morning Peggy & everyone!

Peggy, I was thinking the same thing about Shirl, because it's after 11:00. Lol! I commend you for wanting to walk on such a chilly day!

We're having a potluck after church tomorrow and I just put chicken breasts, a can of cream of chicken soup, a block of cream cheese and an envelope of the dry Italian seasoning in the crockpot and will let it cook all day. Much later in the day, the chicken will get shredded and put back in the crockpot for tomorrow. It's very yummy. Will leave soon to get steamed shrimp for this evenings dinner.

Shirl, you just snuck in. Yes, the day has to get better from here.

Have a super Saturday!

Ty and i are still cuddled under the comforter. I can't get myself moving mornings then can't get to sleep until late, very late. But desert winter mornings are cold so it makes our morning walk more doable.

Shirl, I've been there. And, like you, then tossed the beautiful meat. Better safe than sick. I just added a couple roasts that are on sale into my Safeway pickup cart. I'll pick up on my way to the casita Monday and in the following couple days cook in my pressure cooker or slow cooker and package as individual servings in my freezer. I've been eating more fish and chicken so this will be a treat.

I had a slice of Monte Christo French Toast for breakfast. The recipe sounded good and I made it a week ago. It's not often I throw a recipe away but that one went in the trash. I divided the toast up into sandwich bags and put it in the freezer. It's eatable with maple syrup on it. Shirl, you are not the only one with food failures. lol Irmi, your chicken sounds good. I took out the other half of the chicken lasagna to cook for lunch. There are at least 4 meals in that.

It's 45 and sunny this morning. That temperature probably sounds good to some but it's cold for me. It got down to 35 last night. I still haven't put my Ficus tree in the old house. They are predicting a freeze next week so I might have to move it.

Pinky will be happy, I put Mardi Gras decorations on the tree and left it up. She is still sleeping under it. I posted a picture on Facebook.

I ran Roomba this morning to pick up all the dog and cat hair so I can vacuum. Sugar sheds more that all the house cats put together. It might help if I would brush her sometimes.

Hey, Shirl, don't be too hard on yourself. This kind of thing has happened to me more than once lately - along with the "&$#*%+" that you mention. The way it goes for me is that I put a pot of something on the stove (or maybe in the microwave) in the evening to get a jump start on something to eat for the next day, cook it, then leave it there to cool.

While it is "cooling" I go into the living room to watch a bit of tv, fall asleep, and five or six hours later walk back into the kitchen to turn off the light (having totally forgotten about the food) see it there. . . and then. . . well, you know the verbiage.

I have had food poisoning more than once in my life, it is an experience I don't wish to repeat, so into the trash it goes. This REALLY torques me off - I HATE throwing away food, especially these days when food is becoming hard to come by for so many people.

So. Shirl. You are not alone.

Thanks for the laugh, Shirl. I needed that. I’ve had cooking disasters that went right into the garbage...

Thought an egg sandwich for lunch. Hard to do when you only have moldy bread. That makes three things, crockpot, can opener and bread. I guess I’m safe now.

Irmi, your chicken is similar to one I do. I can't use the cream soups, because they all have gluten, which I can't have. But I put bone in chicken, usually thighs, in IP with either a cup of water or broth. Pressure cook to very tender. Remove and bone and chop, adding cream cheese to broth while I bone and chop chicken. I add a can of chopped green chilis if we want a Mexican flare, and when sauce is melty from cream cheese, I dump in handfuls of grated cheese, usually cheddar. Add back chopped chicken. Very yummy and very low carb. Even picky son will eat seconds though he eats his over rice.

Shirl, I have had way too many days like that! Like they say, somedays you are the dog, and some days you are the hydrant! I will have to check out that album!

Sun is out and it looks windy. The Santa Ana's are back. As you all are getting colder, we are actually getting warmer here! Supposed to be in the 60's this time of year but we have been in the 70's and next week will be in the 80's! I like "warmer than usual" in the winter, but not so much in the summers. I had a dream last night that I decided to sell my house because I couldn't take the summer heat, and was gonna buy a place near the ocean. Ha! Good luck with that! Only in my dreams, literally!

I need to clean out Lola's ears. She is scratching at them lately. I also have stuff to put in them for ear mites.

Still working on that little table. Got the legs all put together now but there are no holes under the table to attach them to, so will have to get out my drill today and drill them in. Then I should be done. Will put it in one corner of my living room that is empty now. I first want to put contact paper down on the floor so if I spill any paint, etc, it won't damage my laminate flooring.

Have a good day and stay warm!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Irmi, I have a similar chicken recipe but with sour cream and sherry. My mother used to make it. It's hard to imagine people gathering for a potluck these days.
Shirl, what a day! Should all be good now. :)
Martha, after reading about your Mardi Gras tree, I've been thinking of getting a slender tree next year. After Christmas I'll move it into my work room and at least have lights all year.
Peggy, I agree that some days are harder! I have no motivation. It was snowing when I woke up so told the kids I wouldn't come for football. Snow has stopped, but I'm content to stay home plus we still have weekend traffic. I need to get out and walk when road is clear of snow and ice. Forgot how ugly snow is when they start plowing and piling it up.
Barbie, weather is just crazy everywhere. I thought once snow started we'd be in for it, but we've also had a lot of rain and non-freezing nights.
Always happy to hear others like their stay under the covers in the morning. :)
Sheila, have you tried any of the free TV apps on your phone. I don't know that they show current shows, but Carolb used it in Arizona.

The kids picked up a big grocery order for me a month ago. I told Monica Thursday I was ready for another. I thought they'd jump on it last night but nope. Now find out Alan's brother-in-law is in the hospital so thinking she wasn't putting any more on him.

A portion of the apartment complex is open so wanting to go over and have a look.
I've been following a family on FB whose 9-yr-old son has been battling aplastic anemia. Things were going well and then they weren't. Today they had to tell his 4 brothers that he will possibly not make it out of surgery today. A day of prayers and tears.

Now Go Seahawks!!

Anita, our congregation is very small, especially now, so we are still able to socially distance in our parish hall. If it weren't for that fact, I would never attend. But thanks for your concern. We don't want this mess anymore than all of you.

Sunny Saturday here for a change. But the rain shall return shortly. I will just enjoy the day for now. Sunny but kind of cool is my "happy place". Had my handyman here this morning. He helped me hang a big blind (two man job) in my dining room and a smaller one in the kitchen window to replace the towel I had hung over it ha ha Then changed out the towel racks and tp holders in the bathrooms. Looking good. Now getting ready to make some lasagna. Some to eat and some to freeze. Then will just relax and watch a movie.

Thanks, Irmi for clarifying. I didn't think about a small congregation there.

Surprised when granddaughter announced engagement on FB.
