Mornin' ladies~~~
Today is National Bird Day, so just for fun, see how many birds you can spot, Even if it's from the warmth of your home.

Made it to Fort Stockton, Texas yesterday. So far the winds will be playing nice this week. They got 15" of snow last week. Glad I wasn't here. Big Bend got 24" inches and the news just reported they finally opened some roads again. Hoping the snow doesn't return since I'll be in the Big Bend area next week.

Glad Tina seems to be doing a bit better. Can't remember much else without coffee. Have a good day ladies.

Good Morning to All from Mazatlan. We have had a few very quiet days here. the town has been full of holiday tourists. Some from as far away as Mexico City. Traffic was terrible. So we've stayed close to home. Weather is starting to warm up again high 70's low 80's coming. Also a friend of ours from Canada just arrived. Waiting a few days before we see him. Making sure he didn't pick up the bug on the airplane down here. By Kings Day, very big here, the 6th most every one will go home. Then we will start going out and about again. Looking at our end of month expenses for the first time groceries were more than eating out. Been doing a lot of cooking dinners.
Went to grocery store yesterday to pick up a few things. Here the groceries have extra tags on them telling you they have excessive fat, sugar, calories, sodium. etc.

Almost makes you not want to eat them.

Covid cases here remain low, under 50, but waiting for the uptick after the holiday crowds. they are vaccinating health care and older citizens.
Still no one else in RV park. So quiet here.
Have a good day and stay safe.

Good Morning All, thank you Cheryl for opening. I have run out of chatter. :D At least you are looking at different scenery. I took the balcony decorations down and candles out of the windows. I swept the balcony, the highlight of the week. Going to leave the tree up until I mentally want it down. Contacted my primary to get information about the vaccine schedule in Maryland. I am in the next phase because of my age. I want to be monitored because of my history with medication. Maryland seems to be lagging behind but not sure why. Governor Hogan suppose to give an update this evening. Be safe

Good afternoon Cheryl, Carol , Shirl and others!

Cheryl and Carol, I am enjoying following both of you on your journeys. Shirl, I'm anxious to hear what Governor Hogan has to say. Governor DeSantis, in FL, said way back when that he will not have the state go backwards, as in not shutting down or decreasing the numbers of people in restaurants, etc. Personally, I think that's exactly what he should do, and on top of that, there are too many people not wearing masks inside buildings and nothing is done about it. That gets on my very last nerve.

We woke up to 35 degrees this morning and another frost. Right now it is 68 and sunny but quite breezy.

The general contractor for our casita showed up this morning and he is in the process of putting our pergola together. He said it will be all but done tomorrow. The insulation inside the casita will be installed Friday, so things are moving along again. After those inspections are done and passed, then the drywall will go up.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Morning all! I had my audiology appt this morning. I went in saying I would NOT get new aids this year even though it had been in my plans for around this time. Ha. I'm going back this afternoon for new ones. It really is time but leaving that job meant less expendable income. Oh well, it's just money lol

I like those tags, Carol. I doubt most people are looking at them though.

As bad as Covid is here in Arizona, the park I'm currently in doesn't know of any cases here... Therefore no deaths. And everyone masking. That's kind of reassuring. But the park I stayed at last week, no employees masked, etc, and they also have no cases/deaths. But because of their practices, I was even more careful. My home park has had both cases and deaths... Somewhat scary since they have been very protective. It proves that it only takes a few bad apples, and a few small gatherings of people who feel safe together. My gf from high school who is a nurse and on the front lines and caught covid a couple weeks ago is very lucky. She had just received her first dose of the vaccine when it was discovered she tested positive. She got very ill, but after 5 days improved dramatically and they believe it was because of the vaccine, even just the first. So that's really a good thing. They aren't taking my age yet, so still waiting for that.

Good morning everyone! I had a restless night because son was running a fever yesterday, with no obvious cause. Last time he did this, it turned out to be a hidden abscess in a tooth ( was behind a filling which hid it from X-ray). With no exposure to the outside world, I have no idea what it is this time, but his 101 temp of yesterday has returned to normal today!
As to food labels, if you stick to just real food: meat, poultry, seafood, fresh fruits and veggies, you don't need labels...labels are written by misguided people who are bought by grain and sugar industry, which is why they are hard to read- if they were clear, it would scare you away!
Got tree down and out yesterday, just need to get lights off porch rail and put boxes away ( well after I move the parrot cage and retrieve the ornament I recall fell off tree one night late.) hope to actually get the boxes that can, to the garage this year, vs my sunroom. I have one box of stuff I don't want to have summer heat exposure to put in closet. Once handyman is done with front and bedroom deck renovations, he will start on my sunroom, which Mel never finished with stuff like window trim and ceiling fan. So I need to get accumulated junk out to either trash or places where it belongs as it had become a catch all room. I found garden stuff, various tools, a roll of hardware cloth, paint cans, and lots more. I want to finally have my dream sunroom, which faces east to the morning sun, a great place to sit for morning tea plus afternoon shade makes it good in afternoon too even in summer heat. I'll try to get before and after photos, then hopefully learn to post them!
Speaking of handman, there is no real good news on Darendas, his fiancée, who has been hospitalized a month today. 3 weeks in ICU and two weeks on ventilator so far. He said they were told she had a bronchoscope yesterday but no results yet. They are still having trouble keeping her blood oxygen up. She did run a fever again, which is why the scope looking for sources of infection, and her fever was back down as of last night. Remains a scary situation. Just weeks before she got sick, she drove me to eye Dr and we were planning a future lunch together..... I continue to pray she is able to recover. that new Grandbaby awaits meeting her grandma.
Well I need to put on work out clothes and put in my treadmill time, so I better close this out. Have a good day everyone. Stay safe and well.

Covid continues to be off the charts out here! The governor is now calling on dentists to help with doing vaccinations so get them done faster. There are now 2 cases of the new form of Covid up in Big Bear, a mountain town northeast of Los Angeles.
There was a 32 year old mother of 5 and was seven months pregnant who died the other day of Covid. So sad! Lost the baby too. :(

Played golf this morning. We actually had 8 of us! Beautiful day for it too! We are still in the mid 70's here which is warm for January. No complaints here!

I picked up a couple pieces of lattice last week to put around my deck railings. Just saw that a neighbor of mine has a bunch of lattice in a "free" pile in her driveway. I wonder if HD would let me return my pieces? I paid about $25 for them.

I need to get busy working on my list of things to do that I wrote a few days ago.

Have a good day and stay safe!

Sugar woke me up coughing this morning. It was a raspy cough and she would cough until she spit up white foam. I was afraid she was choking on something. The vet thinks she has bronchitis. I didn't even know dogs could get bronchitis. He was asking me if she had been around other dogs. The campground was full of dogs but she wasn't playing with any. We would pass a lot of them walking.

While I was in town I picked up batteries for my motorhome. I must have hooked them up right because I have power. I had labeled all the cables and took pictures with my cell phone. I have been having problems with the batteries going dead for a while. I hope it was because one of them was bad and something else isn't wrong.

Martha, glad you got your batteries replaced.

I have a friend (Ann) in the park here (and her daughter, Cindy, has a home here too) who has been battling stage 4 lung cancer for the past year. I went to Ann's house on Thanksgiving to visit with them for awhile. Her husband was put into a nursing facility a year ago as well, with Alzheimers. They go to visit him quite often. I just found out he died of Covid the other day. I am worried Ann might have it now too. She wouldn't survive a week with it in her condition. I am so glad I wore my mask when I went to visit them that day! They were not wearing masks (her, Cindy or Cindy's boyfriend). Cindy has been a total emotional mess from worrying about her dad and taking care of her mom full time. I am sure this is hitting her very hard. She is about my age and she drinks too much as it is. This won't help. It probably won't be long before Ann passes, even if she doesn't have Covid. The cancer has spread now. I would like to go over and express my sympathies but I am worried to do that. I know they have not been careful with this virus. They went down to Mexico a couple months ago, and then they were talking about going out shopping on Black Friday. Anyways, it is a sad situation. :(

I lost my energy this afternoon and took a long nap.

stopped at a place here in town which is outside eating or take it with you but as it was nice eat at the table they had a hand washing sink there with hot water wow was so nice... food tasted good as well... it is it's second year here
sometimes Beth we do what we don't plan on doing but usually ends up being what we needed to do...
I need to decide where I am going to go to get my next supply of yarn tonight if I get my 2 rows in will be the last of the pattern on the afghan then only 7 rows for the border... and no yarn to start the next one... :? I really like this one brand of yarn much softer no dye lot number but find it a Micheal's or JoAnn's if ordered off Amazon have to buy in bundles of 3 at most I need 5 skeins... oh well come to think about it think I lamented about it last night.... may slip down to Yuma really need to go to dentist but not heard about the border into Algodones

Barbie be careful. Your mask is only supposed to prevent YOU from spreading the germs. It doesnt protect you from breathing in germs. N95 mask does that. Just dont get a false sense of security because you are wearing a mask, if others are not you are not protected.
