Rainy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Sunday

Postby Shirlv » Sun Jan 03, 2021 9:55 am

Morning All, I woke up early but couldn’t think of anything to say. Glad the tree is still up because it is a miserable gloomy day. Wanted to make Jambalaya in the crockpot but no fish. Spent time searching Sams and Bjs for bargains. The highlight of my day will be to gear up to leave the building and empty the trash. :? Might as well take a walk too. Think Gene Kelly. FYI, keep plastic wrap in the freezer and it won’t stick to its self. I tried it and it works. Since I just made your day I will sign off. Be safe

Good morning Everybody,
The income cutoff for the stimulus money is $87,000. If your income is more than that, no money for you...

Karen, where did you post the photos of your bathrooms? Everybody is commenting on them, but I can’t find them. If they’re on Facebook, than I won’t see them.

Lyn, you read about 300 more books than I did this year. You’re reading almost a book a day!!!! speedy reader!

It’s cold here and it’s supposed to snow later today; just dreary now.. I need some of Carol’s Mexican sunshine!
Enjoy today. Peggy

Morning you two. Peggy, Karen's pictures are on the 2nd page of the New Year morning post. I'm barely awake so that's it for now.

Rainy morning here too. Survived the mess on Friday and luckily temps were up yesterday so ice and snow melted on the sidewalks and driveway so I thank Mother Nature for that! I could use some sun too! I make reservations for June to go camping in Ives Run north of me for a few days. Love my senior pass! I will be camping with friends like we did last summer so should be a good time. It’s a beautiful area of PA. Huge sites so if we are still social distancing it’ll be fairly easy to do. No telling what the next 6 months will bring but I want to be optimistic!
Today will just be more of the same as it’s been for the last few weeks! Puttering around the house. I have a couple of big projects to get into but just can’t seem to get to them. Tina, hoping you’re feeling better each day. And hope all is well with everyone else. I have nothing else but thought I’d at least check in! Be safe and have a good day.

Took a walk, didn’t kick up my heels but did walk in a couple of puddles just for fun. Came home did PT exercises using bands and soup cans per PT instructions. Bands and cans might be an option for full timers, no extra weight.

Good Morning! Checked on our account and we had the stimulus check that will be deposited tomorrow. Lynn, that’s a lot of books in one year! I usually buy books at the bargain shoppe when they have a five for a dollar sale. Then I always end up with one book that is part of a trilogy and it’s enough to spark my interest, so then I have to go to ABEbooks.com and purchase the rest of the series! It’s a vicious circle. But I love ABE books for getting a book that I specifically want but don’t want to pay full price or are out of print. Usually pass my books onto my neighbor and then she passes them on to some of her friends. Unfortunately, I had unknowingly picked up a book that was basically word porn and passed it on. I mean it was bad. Karen hadn’t read it yet but passed it on to a friend (who just happens to be a minister’s wife) with the stipulation that she return them so she could read them. The minister’s wife now thinks that I am a pervert…she must have read the whole thing.

Have a good day.

Got a good laugh about the ministers wife. I bet she did read the whole book. I have a friend I met while he was singing in a bar. He said he had sang in a group at churches but he was propositioned so much by the women he went back to bar singing. He was married and wanted to avoid as much temptation as possible.

BJ, that was too funny!

All of you ladies are such great kick me uppers and I enjoy each and every post.

It's cool in central FL, 66.8 degrees. One of the residents here has a very sophisticated weather system on his premises and provides the weather to all of us here. That's why I typed 66.8, because that's what it says. Activities here are starting to pick up, but everything is held outside, weather permitting.

Little to nothing has been done in our casita to report. If we don't have a contractor here tomorrow, I'll call to see what's going on, as the pergola was supposed to be installed this past Monday and Tuesday, and that never happened. Hopefully I'll have pictures to post soon.

Yesterday was a bust. Nothing done, just lazy.

Today is a little better. I did get all the trash and recycling out and to the dumpster (without pulling any back muscles! Yay!). Got some stencils I ordered from Amazon which should work good on my gourds. I need to get a table set up soon to start practicing with paint colors and techniques.

Took down my Christmas decorations and got those put away. Watered my thirsty plants. Didn't get to laundry but will tackle that tomorrow.

...decided to put a small table with 2 chairs together that I bought when I first moved here. I bought it for the porch, but thought I could use it for now in my living room to get started on my gourd stuff. I started putting it together (after a mad search thru boxes in the porch to find the hardware!). Got part of it together but discovered one part didn't have the holes drilled large enough for the bolt, so took it to Home Depot to get a smaller bolt. The gal who helped me discovered there were also no threads in that hole like the other ones on that part had. So she showed me a kit to drill the hole the right size and cut threads into it too. I never knew they made kits to do that. So will do that tomorrow and see how that works.

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I did basically the same as you. Our Christmas decorations are down and put away and after church today, I washed our bed linens and put the bed back together. In our motorhome, although the bedroom is fairly large in comparison, it's a workout to tear the bed apart and put it back together again. But it's done for another week. Maybe tomorrow I'll wash the clothes in the laundry basket and get that caught up. It's cooling off here and we have our heat pumps set to come on and since it's 55.9 degrees outside, they're already kicking on from time to time.
