My son was supposed to pick me up today at 4 to go over for dinner. However, he called me at 2 pm and told me that he had gotten a call from the furnace repair man notifying him that he had COVID-19!!! This means my son was exposed, so I did not go over today and won't for at least a couple of days.
Repairman was there on Wednesday and Friday (briefly), but I was not there. Son says guy was wearing mask and stayed at least 6' from him at all times, so that is good. Apparently got symptoms late Friday and yesterday. At least no one else in the house was near him--all were in other rooms. Son got tested on Wednesday but no results yet. Obviously, he will have to be tested again this week a couple of times. Hopefully, neither my son or the rest of the family will get symptoms or the disease.
Son picked up my laundry that I left outside this afternoon. He will bring it back tomorrow, but I told him no hurry. I will need a few groceries before I leave here, but I think I will order and pick up. This place is dangerous, but I don't know where it is safe these days!!
Oh, and I just read that the CDC is recommending that after medical staff and nursing home residents, people over 75, along with first-responders, will be next in line for the vaccine. I am 77, so that is very good news, and I will be lining up as soon as I can. Here is the article if you have not already read it:
