Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday

Good Morning All, had a great nights sleep. The honeymoon is over at PT. Yesterday I was started on machines and exercise to strengthen this aging body. I dread it and look forward to the exercise because I don’t ever want muscle spasms again. Karen, love your new home. I had moved to container gardening while still living at the house. Had a nice supply of lettuce on the balcony this year. Was too late to plant spinach this fall but will do that in the spring. Spinach salad with strawberries and walnuts, yum. The 12” pots from Walmart seem to be a good size. Humm wonder if they are on sale? Beth, waiting for the next episode. Tina, sorry my life isn’t more interesting reading but Beth is doing a good job. :D Be Safe

Goodmorning Shirl and the rest who follow!

Just woke up after a good night's sleep. Looks like the sun is out with a few clouds out there. Need to check my list of things to do today. I think mostly indoor stuff to get caught up on and maybe a fun outdoor project thrown in. Need to deliver the toys to the guy collecting them for the Toys For Tots drive. I think I got about 10 or so small gifts. I know they try to give each kid one nice toy and then a smaller one to go with it. These are in the smaller catagory since I can't afford the big toys. Toys have gotten so expensive! Even board games are a lot. I got some fun things for different ages that were all under $10 each. So many families are struggling this year. I just want to do my part and since I got a little extra money this week, I figure I could afford to help out some. I sure don't need anything for Chrismas and have no one else to buy for either.

Karen, I just noticed there is a barn shaped shed behind your driveway. That is cute! Can you paint tht to match your house? I sure miss having a yard to do stuff with. I ran out of money at the old house to do what I wanted to do there. I had a lot of space and lots of ideas but no money to actually do anything with it, other than one area next to the driveway. :( Here I have a little patio space and that is all. Just enought space for a few container plants. I had plans last year to do a container sized mini Japanese garden and I still have the stuff for it, so I should work on that this winter. Wouldn't take long to put that together.

Have a good day! :D (Tina, I hope you are feeling a little better!)

I had a wonderful 9 hours 24 min sleep! Longest I've slept in months ( been averaging 5), and I think it's because of the new CPAP. In past I've found as machine ages, I start to get symptoms back including sleeping fewer hours and morning cough. So glad Medicare replaces them every 5 years, as, before they actually quit I think tne pump gets weaker. I began getting symptoms back about 4-5 months ago.
Today's plan includes a trip to nearby grocery to pick up sons RX and a few things. After that, we will bring the tree in and set up and decorate. Yesterday we moved stuff and cleaned floor (it's near our parrot cage and she slings tiny fruit bits that get sticky). After that I'll do treadmill time and rebounder. Then I can start wrapping gifts for son. I send cash to the MN kid as with postage so high, I'd rather give them extra cash and let them buy what they want. we will put on a Christmas music channel as we work.
My handyman's fiancée is very sick, so all my projects are on hold as he cares for her. Besides I'd rather he not bring her germs over here!
Beth, hope there is relief and much better work environment with new boss. Tina, hope you continue to improve. Barbara, I just read a neat thing on motivating ones self to get stuff done. She had a list of a dozen or so generic jobs such as clean something, write something's, read something, make something, put something away, etc. then she sets goal of pick and do 5 each day. I'm going to write my list and do that. I can set it as a checklist on my phone and check 5 to do then uncheck as done.
Weather guy predicts rain tonight! Hope it happens. I've seen the shadow of clouds moving in as I sit here catching up on morning reading on phone. We sure need the rain !
Have a good day everyone.

I went to town again to get my Friday fish dinner and go to the post office. I got my grandson and his little sister's presents wrapped and boxed so went to the post office to mail them. According to my receipt they should get there next Thursday. I got Kendra a Little Tykes tent that looks like a camper. It even has a blow up campfire. Someone had posted a picture of it on Facebook and I thought it was cute. Since I am not doing much Christmas shopping I need inspiration. My sister gave me a bag full of stuff when I saw her at the campout. I usually give them frozen food but that's going to have to wait. I really wish people wouldn't give me anything. I need to get rid of things, not get more. I told my ex-daughter-in-law that if she gave me anything it had to be something to eat so she sent me a tray of dried fruit and nuts.

I never did find the carwash soap I was looking for but found another kind. I washed the motorhome and truck yesterday. I was going to wash my car today but decided to try the new car wash that was built by the post office. It did a pretty good job but I need to scrub some bugs off the hood.

I finally received the property tax bills I was looking for. I had called them last week and was told they were late mailing them because of the hurricanes.

Karen, I love your porches. I wish I had been more involved when our porches were built. My porches are about 6 X 8 feet. I would have liked for them to be larger and one screened in.

The temperature is up to 81. We are sure having some crazy weather this year. Last night they were saying it was going to start raining tonight and we could get 3 inches. Now it looks like it will be Sunday and most of it will go North. The guy that has the calves here would probably like for it to rain. He put fertilizer out yesterday. My neighbor has a Brown Swiss cow that finally had a calf last week. I saw them moving the cow to his house today. I think he is planning to milk her. He is still living in the old days. He raises chickens and ducks and is alway messing with them. His wife would rather buy chickens at the store.

Mini Moo finally showed up for breakfast this morning. I still haven't seen his brother Inky.

Good Morning!

Woke up to a dusting of snow. Going to be getting colder.

Velda, I can certainly use those ideas to get motivated! It is chilly when I get up. I have my coffee in front of the heater and under a blanket. It just feels so good and I am content to do nothing other than the daily chores. That has to change! I do need to trudge to the dumpster today.
For goodness sakes, Beth! What next!?
Shirl, I'm hoping for flower container(s) on my little patio. Might even think about a veggie plot at the kids' house.
Karen, what nice outside space!
Martha, I'm finding the weather here very different than what they forecast. I think some of it has to do with it coming across the mountains. It usually seems to head north before it gets here.
My Kansas daughter posted on FB that my granddaughter graduated with her Bachelor's in Accounting. No commencement due to Covid. On to grad school next month. Grandson will graduate in May. Both Kansas State.

Thinking of you, Tina!

Be safe.

Yay! I think I just figured out how to fix my trim painting problem! I got an idea this morning to try spray paint instead of paint in a can. I happen to have a spray can with almost the same color I want for the trim so I blocked off a section of trim and sprayed it about an hour ago. It is now dry and not peeling and I can't scratch it off at all. The section I did the other day with the paint in the can (vs the sample jar) still came off easy when I ran my fingernails over it. So I just ordered 3 cans of spraypaint from Home Depot. Finally! :D

The clouds rolled in and it is a bit chilly outside now. Light jacket weather in the low 60's. I did drop off the gifts for the kids.

I should get to my laundry now... (Velda, I would like to know about that article you read about motivation and list for that).

Good evening, all. Tina, I hope you feel up to posting soon, or actually I just hope you are starting to feel better.

They keep giving me work to do I don't have access to, but little by little I'm getting the access to things I need. I was expecting the GM that came to help from another property this company manages to stay on after my manager was let go. That was the original plan, or so I was told last Monday. On Tuesday I was told he headed back to his property for an emergency. On Wednesday I was told he wouldn't be returning. It's too bad because he knew what he was doing and planned to work with me, get me accesses needed, etc. Mr. GM here is pretty much doing everything but keeps thinking I was taught things I want taught, had access, etc. He's frazzled and it shows. He mentioned working on a schedule for next week today so I went online to see if it was done... I'm opening all my shifts next week. My alarm will get a work out. And I'll be needing to walk Ty in the cold, but we'll manage. It's too bad because 2 of the employees prefer those hours. I can only see my own hours online, so it'll be interesting to see the full schedule and where they've been moved. Things have improved, but have a long way to go!

Martha, good that your bill showed up, and that you won't be late. Interesting that they can be, but you'd probably be penalized if you were.

Velda, wow, what a difference in sleep. I'm glad you got the new CPAP and hope that's the reason, cuz then it should continue. And that motivating with lists is a good idea. I wish I'd do it lol

some times a list works for me and other times it doesn't.... :? usually have things planned in my head and sometimes they happen other times they don't... that tree still isn't up... dolls still not out of their bins... and Shadow's stuff is in the way... but there is tomorrow... other than most important is going to get water and hoping my pump works (I pump it out of a barrel into the tank that is the pump I hope works...) guess we will see...
Made this really good soup for games today... a chicken tortilla soup... really good... check out stay at home chef. com she has a video or you can just look at the recipe... because we usually eat more than we should probably and or take left over's home I was just going to increase the recipe by half and use the bit that was left in the can to make salsa but decided to just double the recipe... it had a good flavor I cut up some jalapeno's to use since I had them for the salsa first time I've been bothered by the oil in them I guess... face sure burned from where I put my hands...
Like your yard Karen it will be fun to putter around in this coming summer
hopefully Tina you are starting to feel better we miss you
I don't remember when it was sometime in early Oct or late Sept I had a pedi the tech was trying to get me to do a different type of polish because it would last longer cost only 10 dollars more  I just now took the polish off and it was really hard to get off... I just looked at my hands and my right one shows where the remover ran I guess that would be one way of describing it. had to really work at it wonder what it would have be like if I let her do what she wanted??? I removed it cause of the growth... and it was looking bad...
you all take care

The motivation list was something a fellow widow wrote on Facebook. I use my old iPad for here, but not for Facebook. I'll figure out away to show you what she wrote.
