Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday

Postby Shirlv » Thu Dec 10, 2020 7:29 am

Good Morning All, one of those nights, been awake since 4:00. Will not be a productive day. On the plus side the balcony Christmas lights came on. I turned the timer off then on so guess that reset the timer. Karen, loved the pictures, fingers crossed for the mattress delivery. Barbie, think your light choice is a big improvement. Irmi, we are all as anxious for casita news as you must be. :) To do list, mail cards, take a walk, PT appointment, nap. If I can work up enough energy might push the roomba on button. Be safe

Good morning Everybody, My new stove will be delivered on Tuesday. Because it is a gas stove, the delivery and installation fee is $200. That’s my Christmas gift, I guess.
I’m enjoying Karen and Barbie’s decorations, esp the campers. Holiday decorations lift the spirits.

Finally I went back to read about Beth’s job as I didn’t know what everybody was referencing. Beth, the job should be better now and I like the meal plan. Enjoy today. Peggy

It's warmed up enough to wash the motorhome except I can't find the jug of car wash soap. If I didn't want it I would be tripping over it.

The electricity went out for a minute this morning and I just noticed the phone is off. Sure hope I don't have to call AT&T. I never reported it after the last hurricane because all the boxes were under water. They eventually fixed it.

I have a package I need to mail and keep forgetting to look for Christmas wrapping paper in the old house. If I don't get it mailed soon it's not going to arrive for Christmas.

Back to looking for the car wash.

Good Morning, thanks for latest info about Tina.
We had a family Zoom call this week. Went well except I couldn’t get my sound to work. Nice to see all the greats.
Our staff is beginning to. Move swim pool furniture back to area.
Tonight, instead of Christmas party the staff is providing us a Christmas dinner from a Persian restaurant. We pick up plates of food and return to home to eat. I do like ethnic food.
The Christmas decorations each of you have posted are pretty.

Good morning. Sun is out and showing all the dust LOL So, time to do some spiffing. Rain is coming my way so they say. Going to just take it easy today. I already rearranged my pantry area. Kind of just put stuff willy nilly in there so finished lining the shelves and organizing some food.

Since many of you have asked for some pictures here are a few. Remember I am still a work in progress.

This is the front of my house, I live on a cul de sac which is pretty nice for low traffic.

Karen, your home is beautiful! Looks like a nice view of hill behind you too.
A sunny day here. Trying to motivate son to clean his space (it's all about his disability , making it hard for him to self motivate). Weather people say rain possibly tomorrow night. Keeping rain dance outfit on! :D
My new Cpap seemed better than old one except that "new smell" bothered me some. Not coughing as much as past few weeks on awakening. Hope by tonight new smell goes away.
Got a pork butt out of freezer and it's in IP first under pressure, then slow cook rest of day. Trying to open up space in freezer as I hope by spring to empty and defrost, a task I've never done without the strong arms of Mel! Probably 30% more space with ice gone and I want to get a quarter beef in spring.
Will start wrapping today and get gifts ready for neighbors.
Have a good day all.

Good Morning!

Karen, thanks for posting the photos! I enjoy seeing everyone's Christmas decorations and ideas. Hope your mattresses and Peggy's stove arrive as scheduled.

Tina, hope you are feeling better each day!

Enjoyed a phone call from BFF yesterday - we solved all the world's problems. Woke up feeling very groggy this morning and it's a gloomy day. The snow forecast keeps changing. Better see if I can get something accomplished!

Be safe!

Your home is very lovely Karen. And being on a cul de sac is really good. So glad your furniture and things are arriving. It looks very comfortable. I have the same doggy beds for mine, they are all over the house. They last forever and wash great.
Hope you find your car wash soap Martha. :) My little Mitzi has a favorite toy tay she keeps it on top of the couch where she lays most of the day to survey they world outside all the windows. Well it has gone missing and we have searched the house and the yard and no toy! It is red so should show up. I am baffled. I don't want to go into a store to get one and they are more than double the price on Amazon. I finally found one at a place that does curbside. I've noticed huge spikes in price the last few weeks on Amazon. I started to place an order for a couple of items I had recently bought and the price jumps were shocking. Needless to say I didn't reorder.

I like your big porch and long driveway, Karen. Will be nice to see interior when you everything arrives!

Got a lot of sorting and cleaning to do today, not much else. Trying to stay in because of virus in this county and hoping that it does not shutdown so I can stay here.

Good morning gals! :D

My neighbors love the pink colors on my decorations, saying it is such a unique and refreshing choice. Well, it wasn't really a choice. It was all that was left at the stores. The tree actually had a unicorn head on the top that I removed. Gotta be creative when you get left-overs!

When looking for a replacement for the outdoor light fixture, almost all of the ones I looked at on-line are very traditional and old-style looking. Was hard to find one that looked more modern but I like the one I ordered and it was affordable.

I have a small package from Amazon that has been bouncing around the LA post offices (8 of them!) for the past two weeks. :o Apparently they never heard of Indio and have no idea what to do with it. I am going to call the location it is at today and see what the problem is and see if I can get it directed to me finally! It came from China so who knows what the label says on it. Maybe it is written in Chinese! Hopefully I can get that taken care of.

I can also now make an appointment to get my BHRT implant done now.

I was thinking yesterday that since my friend Candiss moved away, I need a new emergency contact here. I want to ask my friends Debbie and Dave if they will do that for me. I also need someone to take care of some things for me if something happens to me. They are my age and will be around (hopefully) longer than most here in the park. I will talk to them about it in the next couple weeks. No one out here knows anything about how to get ahold of my family, etc. if something happens to me. And my brothers don't know any of my friends, etc, not that they would contact them anyways. I need someone I can rely on to take care of those kinds of things. Mostly, I need someone trustworthy to make sure my daughter gets the things I have for her. The rest of my stuff, I don't care about. I know Debbie and Dave would find a great home for Lola if she is still around, or any other cats I have by then.

Gotta get to the bank today too, to transfer the unemployment payment to my bank account. Then do some domestic stuff around here. Some time this week, I want to frost my hair. It is getting drab and dumpy looking. (The sun is out today so am feeling more motivated!)

Have a good day, and Tina, I hope you feel a little better each day! :D

Karen, now you can be that minimalist you wanted to be! I have the same floor lamp you have in your living room.

I got some Dr appointments made for next week. The BHRT implant for next Tuesday and getting my shoulder looked at by my regular doctor on Wednesday. Got to the bank and picked up meds at WM. While at WM I picked up some toys for our Toys For Tots collection here at the park.

I got the wooden plaque for my house sign so I can paint that. I should get the lettering for the name I ordered in the next week or so and it will be ready to put those on and get it hung up!

Am hoping the hormone therapy with help with my lack of energy and tiredness. I am tired of being tired. :(

I should get my porch light tomorrow so then I can get Dave over to install it for me. I bought a couple of motion sensor light bulbs and want to put one of those in there. I think I will also have him fix my bike. It needs the handle bars straightened and the seat fixed and then air in the tires. I need to get out more and riding my bike will help with that. I haven't ridden it since I moved out here. I have other little projects for him to do around here and now that he is retired, he has time to do that. He is looking for things to do to keep him busy. I either pay him cash or give him free haircuts. Works well for both of us.

Have a good night!

Thanks for sharing all the pictures Karen. I love everything. And being on a cul-de-sac is wonderful. Do you have much of a back yard?

My itty bitty news is that the store was broken into overnight last night. The person is mentally handicapped and I feel sorry for him. But he made a mess of things and claimed to our GM and the police that he has covid, so extra precautions to clean up. The store never opened today. I went in for about 4 hours to work on organizing and restocking things he just tossed out the door. It would be funny if it wasn't sad, and of course, costly. He didn't want money, etc. We think his initial motive was to get a hot cup of coffee. But he didn't know how to make a pot in our machine.

Beth I dont have a large yard as I have a big deck on the front and the back.

This is my front deck and entrance door.

Image

My back yard and deck. I like it as it is very private. There are some stupid railroad ties in the back that I have no idea what they do. But they are going LOL The rest is a shadow from the fence.
