Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning All, Weather still windy and cold on the island. Balcony lights on a timer did not come on last night. I will check on them when it’s a little warmer. I have a few Christmas cards to address for those without internet. I subscribe to Jacquielawson.com so can send cards to others all year. Bring out the Christmas cds and make a centerpiece for the table is on the list for today. Trying to judge a good time for a pickup order at Sam’s that won’t be too crowded but not too far from Christmas. Won’t be Christmas without a coconut cake from Sams. Beth, that was a little excitement in your neighborhood. Lol. Sheila, I am still covering and uncovering my 3 herbs on the balcony. Would love to come and dig in your dirt. :D Be safe

Tina ((hugs))

Shirl, I always want a coconut cake at Easter for some reason. If I'm lucky there is a campout close to Easter and I take one to the campout so I don't eat it all. Sam's has a good one.

Barbie, had posted something on Facebook about ending a sentence with "just saying" to keep from saying "dumb ass". I find myself saying or thinking "dumb ass" after a lot of things I read on Facebook or see on the news.

Looks like I will have to go to town again. I forgot to pick up some of Frost's food at the vet. I might as well call Sugar's prescription into Walmart while I'm at it. Not sure what else I need at Walmart but I'm sure I can find at least $100 worth of stuff.

MeMe showed up for supper last night but still haven't seen her two brothers.

Good morning Shirl and Martha and all who follow. Cold here. Shirl, what are you using to make your table decoration?

Martha, you posted before I could hit submit, so hello to you.

My gas stove oven died!!! So today I put on a mask and go to JP Richards to buy a new one. Nothing fancy. Just a four burner that will fit into a limited space. I remodeled the kitchen in 1996, so the stove is 24 years old. That’s the itty bitty news today. Peggy

Mornin' Shirl, and all who follow.

I, too, subscribe to http://www.Jacquielawson.com. Oh my. The cards on there are really beautiful (animated greeting cards for all occasions, with music, too!). I have subscribed for the last few years. The cost is fairly minimal - I think $20 a year or so (no limit on the number of "cards" you can send) - for me, well worth the cost, considering the quality, variety and the "instant send/instant there" capability of the cards (the cards are electronic, not printed).

This has saved my bacon several times when I have forgotten to send someone a greeting card.

Yikes! Peggy! What a terrible time to have your stove go kaput! I had my old (LOL - about 25 years) refrigerator bite the dust a few months back - I was able to order one online through the Lowe's website and have it delivered.

Have a good day, everyone!

Peggy, Last year I bought a set of battery operated candles with a remote. I put the large candle inside a large glass open ended glass cylinder and surround it with greenery (use to be real, now artificial) pine cones, sprigs of herbs and holly. The whole thing sits on a plastic tray from Dollar Tree. Coffee table gets large glass bowl on a pedestal filled with burgundy glass tree ornaments and a string of fairy lights. Sits on a burgundy plastic plate with greenery. Wasn’t going to bother but takes minutes to put together. Real greenery makes anything look festive.

Good morning Shirl, martha, Peg, Anne others,

beth, I was elated when I read your news! I hope things start falling into place for you in the store. Shirl, I need to finish my Christmas cards, too. I sent a bunch out this past weekend but still have more to send. martha, your posts, and Shirl's too, among others, always put a smile on my face. Peg, I hope you find the stove you want. Anne, I often receive cards from another of our women Rv friends from the same company and they're so nice.

The plumber arrived this morning to start the plumbing work for our casita. The general contractor also came and made a drawing on the floor of the kitchen and bathroom showing where all the cupboards and appliances will go. A delivery truck came this morning also and brought our walk in shower, so things are starting to fall into place.

Stay safe!

Good Morning!

A little warmer last night with some rain. Beautiful out right now.

I love the Jacquie Lawson cards! I remember the first one I received. I did decide yesterday there are a few cards I should send so ordered from Amazon. My tablet finally gave up so ordered a new one from Verizon this morning.

I look forward to decorating for Christmas next year. Guess I'll see most of my things at my daughter's this year. :) Some great ideas, Shirl! I have a clear glass scalloped bowl that I put antique Christmas balls in.

Martha, I find myself not talking very nice to FB these days although I manage to scroll right past most of it! Someone asks a questions, someone answers it and 15 other people post the same answer!
Irmi, I am enjoying the progress you and Karen are making!
Hope Tina is doing well!

Be safe!

Note from Dennis that Tina remains very uncomfortable, although I notice she was browsing on the forum last night, so we know she’s breathing.
We love you, Tina, and we are all pulling for you in our own ways. Get better. We miss you. Check in when you feel up to it.

Thanks for the update Liz.

Enjoying the last day of warm weather here for a while. Tomorrow's high only predicted to be 60 with rain. It will be a good day to use the slow cooker and keep the rv heated.
Found out this morning that someone in the park here has died of covid and their partner is hospitalized. I made the decision to isolate from all park activities and limit my contacts to onyl 4 other people last week. I will continue to keep myself safe.

Good afternoon! Another very cold and windy day. Didn’t get the snow yet today but the air sure feels like it might still come. Low 30’s today and 45 tomorrow! This weather is so crazy this year so far! Guess kinda like everything else happening in the world! I just made a major grocery store run. Got everything on the list plus a few other things ;) I’ve kinda decided to bake some cookies and since it’s been awhile I needed to replace a few things. I’ll freeze most of them so I won’t be tempted to to eat as many! Years ago my sweet sister in law used to give us a big variety of cookies for the holidays. She started before Thanksgiving baking them. As we’ve all gotten older that tradition went by the wayside. Fun memories of our holidays with our kids and family. Hoping I can share some of what I make with my kids. I love butterscotch chip cookies but no one else in my family liked them so guess what I’m making first?! Miss the pizzelles my sister in law makes every year since she moved to Mass. I gave her my pizzelle maker so I have a good excuse for not making them! Very labor intensive. So once I put the groceries away maybe I get started on baking. I haven’t put any decorations out for a long time. Since it’s just me I just can’t get enthusiastic about doing it. I’ll just enjoy looking at everyone else’s as I drive by!
Liz, thanks for the update on Tina. As said we are all pulling for her. So that’s about it for me today. Not much new, just another “normal” day! Have a good afternoon and evening and stay safe.

Had a good day today. Handymen finished installing my new front door and security door. Then hauled away all the debris to the dump. Then are you ready for this..........Ta Da my new freezer was delivered today. I didn't believe it until I saw it. It has a spooky green light that shines on the floor that Emma is just not too sure about. Tells you that the freezer is working.

I got my fiber optic tree up today in the dining area. I am looking kind of festive wahoo. My house is starting to come together..............slow but surely.

Now if my mattresses show up on Friday I will really be surprised.

Good news Beth now maybe it will be the job you thought it would be.

I think a lot of us can relate to that, especially on FB this year!

I slept in today because I could! :D Was still a cloudy morning but finally the sun started coming out. I went out and put up my Christmas decorations and lights on the shed. Had to make a quick run to Big Lots to get a short extension cord and some small ornament hooks. Finished decorating when I got back. Looks pretty good. At least I have something for those driving or walking by to enjoy. Still have my Grinch stuff to hang on the house. Can do that tomorrow. I need to replace a light bulb in my porch light but I can't remember how to open it up to do that. I have done it before so I know it can be done! It is old and rusty and needs to be replaced. Will do that when I have a little extra money, which I don't have right now.

I saw an ad on FB about a company that will bury your ashes around a tree in a forested area that they own (they own several areas of forest land) and you get a memorial service and a small plaque next to your tree (that you pick out ahead of time). Sounds like a good thing for me! Otherwise my brothers will just dump my ashes in the trash somewhere. Need to look into that further.

I painted a new piece of trim out front with the paint in the quart can, rather than the sample jar. I asked the paint guy at Home Depot the other day if the sample paint is different from what they make in the quarts and gallons and he said no. So that first "professional" painter lied to me about the sample paint not being real paint. Will see how the new section I painted does after drying for a week or so. I just want to get the painting done, but done right!

Feels like it is about 9pm but is only 6:30! I hate it when it gets dark so early!

I ordered some spray the other day that you spray in your mouth that is supposed to get rid of your desire to eat sweets by making them taste bad after using it. So I just tried it and then ate a Hershey's Kiss, and yes it tasted aweful! My problem with eating sweets is that once I start on something, I can't stop. So I figure I will use this after I eat just one piece of candy or a cookie. The spray works for several hours. I really need to quit eating so much sugar! Hopefully this will help.

Karen, I didn't see your post right before mine. Your tree is adorable and your dining room looks very nice. Glad you got your freezer and got other stuff done around there. You will start off the new year with a nice comfortable new home!

Here is a photo of my decorations on the shed... that is a vintage trailer decoration on the shed wall.
