I don't know how these drug coupons work but my dog is on a pill I have to get at Walmart. The vet gave me a coupon for the medicine. I pay $21 and without the coupon it would be $50. I think it's a Good RX coupon.

A friend and I pulled a very small trailer, I think it ws 16', to CA one summer. She planned to stay 2 weeks and I was staying the summer to take care of an antique shop for the owner in Trinidad. We we camped at Patrick's Point which was really a beautiful spot. Not on the ocean but very close. The day my friend was to catch a bus for San Francisco to fly home, we both expressed a reluctance about the bus ride. We went ahead to the bus station and continued to worry, I boarded with her and asked was she sure she wanted to go, she said not really but needed to get there so not to miss her plane home. I had just got back to the camp ground when she called and said she was ok but the bus had a wreck. The driver had been driving recklessly and the passengers were trying to get him to pull over and her wouldn't. She wasn't hurt but we both resolved to listen better to that small voice that whispers in your ear at times. She was my student worker and one day the other person in the office said, you two scare me!! We were so shocked we said what do you mean, she said you answer each other with out asking a question. We hadn't noticed it but once she brought it to our attention we were surprised. One day she came in and I said, hey we're pretty well caught up want to take Friday off? She looked at me and said, did my Mom call you? I said no, why? She said she had come in to ask if she could have Friday off. It was and interesting drive to CA!

So I read this on Facebook the other day. “I threw my back out while I was sleeping. I tweaked a nerve in my neck when I sneezed…..I’m pretty sure I’m just one big fart from total paralysis.” Well, that was me today. Woke up and got out of bed and my ankle hurt to the point it was hard to stand on it. Then I had a glass of ice water and had a tooth that just about put me through the ceiling. The ankle finally came around. Ended up calling the dentist and luckily there was an afternoon cancellation. But I did get the Christmas tree decorated. I might even wrap some presents while I watch TV tonight, or I might work on an afghan that I need to finish…or I might decide to make caramels and stir while I watch or I might be a slug and do absolutely nothing. It appears that there will be two hours of “Transplant”. I kind of like that show.

Napa EXPO RV park called me back from the message I left on Friday. They said they were trying to convince county and state officials that this was an RV park, not a campground, so it should not have to close. They told the powers that be that all units here were self-contained and did not need to use restrooms because it was full hookups, etc. Might work or might not, but I am glad they were trying. We will have 48 hours notice if they close.

My scary story is that in 2002, as a reward for selling her home, I took my mother to London for three days. We traveled one way on the QE2 ocean liner and flew back. Departure was from NY Harbor, and there were divers around the hull, supposedly looking for bombs, so instead of departing at 6:00 pm, we did not get underway until 4:00 am. I stayed up until then because I wanted to see us go under the Verazanno Bridge and past the Stature of Liberty. It was an extremely fast journey because we had left 10 hours late and there was 3 hours lost because of time changes. The old ship hit 30-31 knots the entire trip, which is about 33-34 MPH, and there is no other cruise ship or ocean liner, other than military ships, that can go that fast. But a lot of creaking and shaking because she was a very old ship, and they were planning to replace her soon because of metal fatigue. And we had one really big sideways roll to the point where some water emptied from the rear deck pool--water was three feet down from edge but still dumped a lot of water.

Only a little scary, but several months later, I found a British Naval Board of Inquiry report that said that on the previous crossing, heading to NY city from Northampton, UK, that a large pipe in the engine room broke off 3' from the hull. They had to stop in the North Atlantic for several hours to try to fix it, but it said if they had not been able to do so, "More water would have come in than the pumps could handle." I think that means sinking. Anyway, those divers checking for bombs were really trying to repair a 6" in diameter hole in the ship!! Yikes. So Cunard lied to us. How many people would board a ship with a hole in it below the water line and suffering from metal fatigue??

It was a great trip on a historic old ship and going that fast was amazing. (Most cruise ships go a more leisurely 10-12 knots. QE2 top speed in 34 knots. The new Queen Mary can do about 30 knots, top speed.)

Judy, when they said they were looking for bombs I would have gotten off. A friend was on a cruise that was trying to out run a hurricane and they ended up off the coast of South America. Since they were so far from the port the ship was going fast to get back on time. She said it was so ruff that it was all they could do to stay on a bed.

Hope they don't close the park. It's so stupid for them to close RV parks. It just makes RVer get on the road and move around.

Exciting itty bitty news. My manager was let go yesterday. As was at least one store employee. There's another I think should have gone first lol, but the manager who came from another location to help us going to be here longer and I think things will improve. Fingers crossed.

that was unexpected news Beth hopefully things will improve...
and hopefully Tina is also improving.... it will take a couple of days or more you were pretty darn sick so continue doing as the dr says...
got my plants all planted they all fit was surprised I was trying to dig out an old plant that I figured was dead.. realized that it had green so covered it up and will see if it surfaces it is I think a fuchsia. I was planting the plants when a bee came visiting seemed to enjoy the Labidia so put the remainder of in a planter that I placed further away the one in the hanging pot will just have to bee ware they do look good but think I am going to but the ones on stands on the table at night hopefully the plant eating creature won't be as tempted to get them that way... think I will put them on the table when I go out to turn off the generator
didn't get as much done as I'd plan when that shouldn't come as a surprise... got the propane and gas cans filled stopped for a late lunch at Barbie's it was after all Taco Tuesday and they did sound good... 3 for 6 dollars would have been filled with 2 but some how finished... trying to figure out where to put stuff so I can decorate it will slowly happen might even be done by Christmas

I was the only one wearing a mask again at golf. There were six of us today. I played with two ladies who are both in their 90's and they both beat me!

I went to see the hormone doctor after that. He said that I have barely any estrogen in my body and very little testosterone so they will implant a pellet under my skin of bioidentical hormones which are much safer and productive than the synthetic kind. I have done a lot of reading and research on them and feel very good about getting this done. I have been suffering from a lot of menopausal issues for awhile now. However, being a natural hormone, my insurance won't cover it, so I need to come up with the money for it first.

As I was heading to my appointment, I was behind an SUV that had a very low tire on the back drivers side. While I was following them, all of a sudden a dog fell out of the back passenger window! He had a harness and leash on so they stopped and pulled him back up thru the window. He wasn't a small dog either! Scared the crap out of me! When we came to a red light, I got out and went up to the driver and told her she had a very low tire in back and then said "oh, and hang on to your dog better!". Geeze! Some people are so careless! Luckily he had the harness and leash on!

I switched Lola's food last week because they didn't have in stock the kind I have been giving her and she was completely out. It was still IAMS brand but different type. Lesson learned!

The clouds moved in by noon so when I got home, I lost all motivation to do anything. Cloudy days do that to me. I did get bills paid and half of my property taxes paid, and reinstated my unemployment. Hopefully the sun will be out and stay out tomorrow!

Tina, hoping you recover quickly and are back on your feet soon! (((hugs))).

Yea, Beth! The plot thickens, as they say. Maybe more things than you knew about were going on.

I once worked with a guy who kept saying he had to run errands for his sick wife or take her to the doctor, etc. It was a loose salaried group where we kept track of our own time and did a lot of traveling, so it was not a big deal, but the rest of us were just really suspicious he was lying. Then one day they fired him and walked him out of the office after watching him clean out his desk. Turns out he had been doing a LOT more bad things than we had suspected! (Like keeping a handgun behind the books in his locking book shelf over his desk.) And, in his desk, we found a company camera he had stolen. Plus when i came in the next day, I found my very expensive pen that a customer had given me sitting on my desk. It had gone missing months before, and this guy even helped me crawl around on the floor to look for it!!

The lesson I learned was that you never really know everything going on. But for you, hopefully things will get a lot better. That lady sounded unstable.

The thing about bad managers, is you lose good employees because of them. Beth, glad she is gone. I guess that would explain why the schedule didn't get done! Hope things improve to where you are happy there and enjoy your job!
