Good Morning All, another cold day. Tree is trimmed but was a wuss and didn’t decorate the balcony since it was so cold. Balcony is at the top of my list for today. Winter has arrived. PT appointment this afternoon. Martha, hope your tree brought a little cheer, mine did. Be safe

Tina, one day at a time.

Good morning Everybody, dreary day here. I have a strand of twinkle lights around my kitchen sink windows lighted to bring a little cheer. Thank you Liz for the Tina update.
Tina, so happy to hear that you are home and on the road to recovering your optimistic self. Big hug. Peggy

Good morning to all. It is a cloudy overcast day here in Mazatlan. Only going to be in the mid to high 70s for a week or so. Maybe one day with rain. Watching TV from Vegas - they are now up to 226 days without rain and none in sight. Wow.
We went to the wonderful bakery yesterday and got lots of goodies including the best cinnamon rolls I've ever eaten. Help yourselves.
We took a ride to the older downtown yesterday. I had to get my watch fixed it just quit running. Luckily we know a great watchmaker. Within an hour he took it all apart and cleaned the insides and replaced the battery. Runs like new and it is around 30 years old. Cost two dollars and fifty two cents. Couldn't even get a battery for that at home.
I posted a couple of new blogs - mostly of just scenery around here if you are interested. http://travelinginrvandlivinginlasvegas ... cular.html
The Covid rate remains low here but there is some indication it is raising - there was a three day weekend a couple of weeks ago. So we will continue to be very careful. More people seem to be wearing masks. And sanitation procedures are pretty strict when entering any business. A couple of places have been closed down by the government for not following the rules.
I read this every day, but dont post too much. Tina, I hope everything went well yesterday and you are on road to recovery. Beth sorry to hear that job isn't that pleasant, hope it improves.

Just getting ready for putters golf. Mostly sunny out with a slight breeze. So far no Santa Ana winds here. If they are coming from the northwest, then the mountains behind me will block them from this side of the valley.

Beth, I can't find your message with the password for the members only page. Must have dropped off since I never delete any of my messages there and have 2 pages on there. Can you resend it to me?

I switched Lolas food the other day and that was a BIG mistake! One whole day of diarrhea and a puke fest all over!!  Got her back on the old stuff and she is OK again. Whew! The fluffy orange kitty is still coming by for the food outside. Now I have more food for it. He/she is very skittish and runs when he/she sees me thru the window.

Hopefully, getting out in the sun and getting some exercise will give me a little energy and motivation to get more done today. Will get my new little Christmas tree up for sure. I plugged it in last night in the living room and it is really bright and is so cute! I will have to tape it down to the table outside so it doesn't blow over in the wind. I am doing "itty bitty" decorating this year! :lol

We got a notice here that masks are mandatory if you are outdoors, so will see if the ladies at golf decide to wear theirs or not. I will have mine on for sure. I got a new one yesterday with little reindeer on it. :D :
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

PM sent, Barbie.

It was about 4:30 yesterday afternoon when I got my schedule for today. Nothing known beyond today. My manager is acting so frazzled like she had no clue this was happening and now no clue how to schedule for it. Oh well. I'll take this week one day at a time and see if things improve. I have new glasses ordered and would like to be here when they are delivered. That could be a couple weeks yet. :?

Morning. Sun is out and no fog today...surprised. Have my handyman people coming today to install my front door, security door, new kitchen sink, faucet and new range hood. Not sure it will all get done today just depends if the door gives them issues like the back door did.

Barbie why do you keep changing Lola's food? Hoping for a quick recovery for our Tina. Good luck moving forward with the job Beth. Hope it is worth it. In my old age I find I pretty much have Zero tolerance for many things LOL

Need to go to the bank today, gotta pay my handyman LOL

Balcony decorate, lights on a timer. The receptacle was 6” off the floor so had to stand on my head to plug in lights. Will see if they come on tonight. Karen you would be surprised at how excited I am over your new front door. :D Granddaughter who bought my house is still renovating and removed a fairly new exterior door which is going in my daughters house. That made me happy too. I don’t have a thing about doors just remodeling.

Mornin', Shirl.

It was mid-seventies here yesterday; I turned my furnace off because I didn't want it to come on when I had all of the doors and windows opened. Forgot to turn it back on at bedtime; when I got up this morning it was 60 degrees inside my house, having slept very well. Turned the furnace on to take the chill off - probably should have just turned the oven on for a bit instead - probably will open the windows and and back (screened) door again this afternoon to let the house air out some more.

It is incredibly dry here, in my forty years of living in the area I don't remember it ever being like this. Very minimal amount of rain mid-November (if I remember correctly - not even enough to much wet the ground), nothing since. Slight chance (around 40% - 50%) of rain on Sunday (from weatherunderground.com, the U.S. National Weather Service says none), again a slight chance for next week - not holding my breath at only 40 or 50% chance.

It is so dry here that if the winds come there is a very real chance of another major fire igniting.

In addition to fire concerns, there is beginning to be very real worries here regarding the availability of water over the next year.

Might make a couple of pumpkin pies today out of the pumpkins I grew in my backyard last summer, will freeze one for my Christmas dinner. Either that or a batch or two of Christmas butter cookies. These also freeze well, so can have one or two a day out of the freezer without worrying that they will get stale.

Also maybe need to make some more sourdough bread (I ran out of my home-baked bread a few days ago); need to take the Mason jar of starter out of the fridge, and let it warm up before I feed it. Once it is fed and happy, and begins to grow, I'll then use it to make some bread. I have not bought any bread - just made my own - since March of this year, when we first became "pandemic hermits".

That's the news from the front. 8-)

Have a good day everyone, stay safe.

Yesterday, Chris and I went up the hill to Auburn, to get a tree at a tree farm. Same place we went in 2018. Such nice people. Tree is in water out front and we will get it in stand inside today and decorated. A beautiful 6.5 ft Douglas Fir. Our lights, out front , look nice. I plan to go to Costco today for a few things. Want to pick up appetizers before they run out, to have for New Years. I bought stuffed, bacon wrapped chicken breast a couple of weeks ago, which we will have as main course Christmas day. Guess my clam chowder was a hit a few weeks ago, as Chris requested it for Christmas Eve, where we usually have done split pea. Soon as tree is up and decorated, I need to begin wrapping gifts.
Not much else happening at moment. I didn't see Tina update, is it in the private room?

40 years ago today I was in New Jersey for a training seminar. One of the locals took a few of us into New York City for an evening of sightseeing and dinner. By my request we drove past the building John Lennon lived in. We went to dinner at a pop up restaurant (I'd never heard of such a thing) and a top baseball pitcher at the next table and I got into conversation and he asked for my phone number. I declined. No idea why other than different worlds. When we returned to our motel, I turned on the local news and discovered that just shortly after we drove past the Dakota, John Lennon lost his life there. I don't think I slept a wink that night. At our training the next day, it was very somber. It still gives me the chills thinking about it.

Wow Beth, that's quite a coincidence. I has one of those close calls years ago when several from my nursing class were going to meet for ice cream but cancelled it at last minute and the ice cream parlor we had gone together several times, was hit by a small jet from the nearby airport ! You never know what you may have witnessed.

The summer I graduated from high school I went to Shreveport to spend a week with a friend and then I was going to my aunt's in Dallas. My friend and her mother took me to the bus station to catch a bus to Dallas. I forgot my purse at their house so had to go back to get my purse and missed the bus. I took the next bus. I found out later that a train hit the bus I missed and some were killed. That still gives me chills when I think about it.

Not much going on today. I need to go to town but moving slow. Three of the outside cats are missing so rode up and down the road on the golf cart. They are the ones that go missing for a few days. I don't know where they go.

It's sunny and 67 today. I didn't put the motorhome up because I want to wash it. It's suppose to be 74 on Thursday so think I'll wait until then to wash it.

I've not had any close calls, but it's always a little more real when you are near where big news is happening. We had toured the Houston Space Center just before the Columbia exploded in 2003 and were camped not far from there. Being at the GTG in Rockport and then seeing the later hurricane damage was eye opening.

Sheila, I don't have drug insurance either and know there is a penalty. May come back to bite me someday.
Tina, hope you are doing well today! I don't remember any problem after surgery other than getting the anesthesia out of my system. That's the norm for me.
Kids picked up my groceries yesterday - they were surprised how much there was! :)
Still no decorations or even the Christmas mug out. Maybe today. Just no motivation other than getting dishes and laundry done.

Be safe

I do not have drug insurance either. When it was required, it cost more than I was paying dor drugs, si I said hell no. Well, that hell no turned into a penalty I will be paying forever! However, the penalty is a couple of dollars.
Interesting about just missing being present at tragities. One day when hiking in Yosemite, watched a helicopter flying up and down the river. Said, something must’ve happened. Sure enough, idiot walking on ledge above one of the falls fell. Body found miles down river.
Big Thank You to those getting word out about Tina. If you are reading this Tina, pulling for you to have a rapid recovery.

Jean (Sparkle) didn't have a drug plan. Thanks to many of you she got great help. Plus the cancer center worked with her and got those treatments pretty much covered by the drug companies. Never be afraid to ask for that type of help if needed. She wouldn't have had any cancer treatments otherwise.
