Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday

Good Morning All, It’s a chilly morning on the shore but the coffee is hot. Got the dreaded lights on the tree, candles in the windows yesterday. Still trying to remember how I connected everything last year so it is easy to turn on lights at night. Couldn’t remember what I did with box containing cards, tags and stickers. The mind is a wonderful thing. Got up this morning, turned the coffee pot on then walked to the storage closet and there was the lost box. Guess I ramble on even at night. Glad everyone wants to continue itty bitty news. It’s rather like hanging over the fence and talking to your neighbor. :D

I’m sure everyone’s thoughts are of Tina. During the pandemic hospitals are sending patients home scary fast. Be safe

Mornin Shirl and all that follow. Tina prayers for you today. I have three tiny scars where they went in and yanked mine out. I did have to adjust my food for a bit afterwards. I could not eat any spicy food for maybe three years. We had winter down here in FL as Liz reported last week. The. It got nice and warm... it we have winter coming again this week! I may lose all my Monarch chrysalis and caterpillars. Too cold and it froze their food supply!

Headed into town for a neighbors eye doc appointment. So need to get my new perm washed and dryed, hopefully not frizzed. Be safe, wear your mask, wash your hands, be happy - that makes everyone wonder what is going on behind that mask!

Good morning Everybody,
Today I’m going to the post office to get some holiday stamps and to mail a package of old family photographs to my sister.
Thanks to staying at home, all my lose photos from 25+ years are now sorted and in albums. Will wonders never cease!

Tina, my thoughts are with you today and I’m sending lots of positive energy your way for healing your body. Speedy recovery, friend. That’s my itty bitty contribution. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good foggy morning...again. Sure is lots of fog in southern Oregon. Hopefully it will burn off by noon LOL
Having my second cuppa joe then will need to get busy. My handyman is coming today to install my new range hood fan and change out my fluorescent bulbs as only half are working. I need to find out where the post office lives here in this town as I have to go buy some stamps and mail a couple of things. Tax assessor is already after me LOL

Hoping all goes well for Tina and this solves her problems. Speedy recovery post op. It is chilly here this morning 36° with a high of50° the weather people are so silly. Telling us to bundle up well during this freeze ha ha okay I was outside not that bad. Of course I had my coat on but still not bad.

Ok time for some breakfast and a shower.

No schedule went up for this week. So I don't know if I'm supposed to work today lol. I'm saying no until I hear different. We do have a mandatory meeting at 10 am to learn all about what our county closings will mean. I know the campgrounds are closed effective today and I believe the motel is also. The store should be open and the restaurant for pickup only. But I'll find out all the details and maybe get a schedule.

Thoughts with Tina, of course. There was so much I couldn't eat before my gall bladder surgery, almost everything, that I was thrilled I could eat most anything again after.

Yes, it is! Which is why I love this forum so much. "Hanging over the fence talking to your neighbor" has always been needed - especially now, during these troubling times.

I am sending prayers Tina's way, as I am sure all of us are.

Don't know what I'll do today except unload the camper. I got all the food in last night. It looks like we will have a nice day.

Last night my nose had quit running by the time I went to bed. This morning I started sneezing again and my nose started up again. I would sure like to know what is going on. It probably has to be my sinus since my teeth hurt off and on.

Karen, you reminded me that I haven't received one of the property tax bills. They usually come in November. I will have to dig out last years bill and call them if it doesn't come this week.

Shirl, you inspired me to get out my Christmas tree. Now if I can just move all the junk that's on the end table. I received my first Christmas card so will have to dig out the Christmas cards. I have 3 boxes that I have been sending them from so people probable get the same card from me every year.

There is a specialty meat market near the campground I was at. They sell BBQ on Sundays and I pick up some dinners when I camp there. I pass close to where my son lives so drop off dinners for them. This time I picked up some stuffed pork chops. The instructions say to bake them but that makes them dry. I'm going to try cooking them in the slow cooker and see how they come out.

Thinking of Tina today and hoping all goes well.

Good Morning All, We have a little sun or should say clouds aren't too thick. Supposed to warm up mid-week to almost sixty!! DH and his friends are still meeting at the lake once a week. They plan to continue through the winter! We'll see how that goes when it snows! They pick up sticks and build a small fire but think they take turns standing close. Thank goodness they are all good about distancing and masking.
I should have kept a list of the things I have ordered! Of course while shopping for others I have bought myself a few goodies. I just happened onto Macy's site when they were having a Black Friday event and the prices were great! I try to shop local but for some things it just isn't possible. This is the first year I have shopped early I am usually frantically looking a few days before Christmas. My wonderful neighbor who is a fabulous cook just bought us some homemade soup and from scratch crescent rolls!!! She has been so good about sharing food during the pandemic. I reciprocate with baked items and other things that aren't cooked. My dogs started barking the minute I went to the door to wait for her. Mitzi LOVES her.
Hoping TIna's surgery is over and all is well for her this morning.

Martha, maybe our trees will add a little cheer to little ones riding by. I use to ride around with my children looking at Christmas lights. With the pandemic that is one safe option for children. Ok, will put on my hoodie and decorate the balcony too.

Good morning gals!

It is overcast today! Hardly ever get that here in the land of perpetual sunshine! We are supposed to get the Santa Ana winds thru here again this week. So far it is calm out there.

Waking up to my first day of my Christmas Staycation! Today will be mostly paying bills, making phone calls and getting signed back up for unemployment.

Still on the fence about the Christmas tree. If I wait long enough to decide, I won't have to do it at all. :D

Thinking of Tina this morning. Hoping all goes well!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Another sunny northern California day. Supposed to be windy, but not so far. CoVid ICU admissions are high and news report from Health people said this is the Halloween surge amd tne thanksgiving surge is still ahead! South of us, in San Joaquin County, they have only 6% of their ICU beds open and are working to create more, but the issue is, not enough travel nurses to add capacity. They said Midwest surged before us, so tne travel nurses are there so not available for here! the New Year will be here before we see a let up. I just keep working at keeping us safe.
Chris and I need to figure out whether we can get a tree up at a farm or find our old tree in a box.
Good thoughts for Tina. Hope she is in recovery by now.

Hello again, this is a first for me; posting twice in one day, but when you only have itty bitty news it doesn’t Take a lot of typing. Forget the holiday stamps! The line at the post office was out the door, so I used my regular stamps. Put a lot on my sister’s small package and hope it’s enough.
Tree is up and we strung two sets of lights. All the lights worked when I tested them. On the tree only half of each strand works. There are two little fuses and one must have burned out in each strand. Off to Home Depot and NO you can’t buy
little fuses!!!! What to do now????

Barbie, I woke up to feeling the wind today. Maybe it bypassed you lol. It'll remain windy here all day today.

The mandatory meeting was all of 15 minutes and most didn't affect me. My boss is on my bad list again. After the meeting I went over to see if I'm working today. She didn't know yet. I said I'm not asking for all week, just today. So she snipped at me and said "take the day off". I quickly said ok and left with a comment that I'd be checking online for my schedule for the rest of the week off and on all day. Yes, she needs to cut hours. If she told me what deliveries are expected this week, i could do a schedule that she could then tweak. But I don't dare say anything. She hasn't even asked if any of us are willing to take cuts in hours, etc. Last week she cut one full-timer down to about 2 1/2 days. I had 5 and the newest member of the store staff had 3 (the only 3 she could get based on her start date).

Ok no more store talk today as I won't be there lol

Peggy, I second an automotive store or section in Walmart, etc. Or Amazon.

Shirl, I love your idea of cheering the children. I loved seeing all the homes decorated as a child.

Good Morning, yes, please keep all news coming. I am becoming depressed and every little bit helps me. My daughter got out our box of Christmas decorations and that has livened up the place a little. No tree, haven’t had one for years.
Sorry I don’t have more uplifting things to report. Oh yes, just remembered, went for a long scooter ride on Saturday. This is a pretty town.
