Surprising Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Surprising Sunday

Good Morning All, Accuweather says snow starting in 20 minutes. Didn’t see that coming. Do wish I could post pictures on this site. I jury rigged a cover out of a box for my balcony plants, hope it works. I have been covering the plants at night so fingers crossed. Slow going with the decorating since I need to take a lot of rest breaks, Decorating is a good thing I need to move. Peggy are you snowed in? Tina, healing thoughts. Be safe

Good morning Shirl, no we didn’t get any snow accumulation in Hartford. Sunny and cold today.
Anita, last year I bought a Christmas mug at a thrift store for a dollar and a red bow for the rear bumper at the Dollar Tree. That was the sum total of decorating. The difference between “being out and having fun and staying home and having none!” Enjoy today everybody. Peggy

Good morning Peggy, Shirl, and all who follow. I'm ready for my zoom church shortly, but thought I'd drop by for a cup of tea. Got lights up on front porch except need a timer for my snowflakes I just got. At least now we aren't only house on cul de sac without lights. Amazon was our only visitor yesterday. Christmas gifts we each ordered are dribbling in.
Have a good day .

Just walked Ty and am now relaxing before my 1-9 shift. I'll pick up lunch at 11:30 and come home to eat before walking Ty again ahead of my shift. New schedules best be out sometime today as the new week starts tomorrow. While I'm getting along better with her, she puts off schedules until the last minute then changes them often. I'm hoping with the shut down to have less hours and/or days. Lots had less days last week as she changed the schedule. I managed to leave early a couple shifts. Honestly, I'd bet we could cut the schedule in 1/2 but we'll see.

Are you all tired of my work news? I'm sure you are and apologize. It's all the news I have, unfortunately.

Here's hoping you all have a good day. Tina, I hope you can at least relax today and that all goes smoothly tomorrow.

Beth, any news is good news. I’m interested in how your new job is going an if we like the manager. :D I’m resting because I strung lights on half a 5 ft pencil tree. At this rate it will be New Years. Is everyone sick of how tired I am. :D

Another beautiful day here in Arizona. Have been spending this weekend getting caught up on cooking, cleaning and wrapping presents for my Christmas Angel.
Tomorrow is Joey's vet appointment for his yearly physical. Then a visit to the dog park where he can run until he drops.
Tina, my prayers for a speedy recovery are with you and your medical
team.
Keep safe everyone.

Hello All!

Got things unfrozen and kept them that way overnight! :) Kids offered to come get me to watch the football game, but traffic here can be a mess on weekends.
Alan will pick up a huge grocery order for me tomorrow.

Beth, your work news is interesting as it 'develops'. Probably makes some of us glad we don't deal with that 'stuff' anymore. :)
Velda, Amazon is my friend. :)
Brenda, friends are posting photos on FB of their Arizona ATV adventures so I'm getting a taste of desert!
Shirl, resting between/among chores is my motto! I guess since I don't feel the pressure of making travel plans, I am taking a vacation because not much is getting done. :)

Tina, thinking of you - especially tomorrow!

Be safe everyone.

HI everyone!

Peggy, I like your idea of decorating.
Beth, we are all curious about your job & manager so keep the reports coming.
Tina, praying your surgery tomorrow is successful. Rest & take it easy.
Shirl, Snow! yikes! Glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.
Anita, love the picture of your new home town. What a beautiful hidden gem. Glad you got things unfrozen. :)
Barbie, for some reason the lady who cuts my hair thought beauty shops were being closed a couple of weeks ago. She fit me in on her last open day. Hope they aren't closed for too long. Tough times for so many as they still have rent & utilities to pay even when closed.

As for Christmas decorations, I appreciate the folks who put outside lights in my complex so I do my part & put some in my front window & along the patio fence. Last year I bought an artificial pre-lit tree. The lights were white but I really wanted multi-colored ones so I added a few strings of them so I could choose which ones to plug in. Last week when my DD was here she said to plug both of them in at the same item. Oh my! They are beautiful! Haven't even put any ornaments on yet.

Going to bake lenguas de gato cookies this afternoon. SIL might be traveling to France on the 15th so I always send some to his family & of course, we need lots of them for ourselves too.

Well, I'd better get moving.
Take care,
Catherine

Say, Beth, I for one am always interested in everyone's news - from thoughts about getting tired from decorating a Christmas tree, to your daily employment adventures. It's all grist for my mill!

I'm not sure what I would do without your Forum, Beth. I check in several times a day (probably post more than my fair share!), without your "community" I'm not sure I would still be sane. Doubtful! (am I still sane. . .? LOL. Who knows!).

I consider all the ladies on here to be my friends - some I have met in person, some not - it's all the same.

Ladies, please keep your news coming!

Thanks.

Good afternoon. I love everyone's postings. Keeps us all in touch. I too dont have much exciting news but I still post about it. I figure if people aren't interested they can just scroll on by. I am always interested in what the rest of the folks are doing. We can rejoice or complain or just chat here, works for me. I loved all the support I received after my recent tragedy. Things are coming together slow but sure. Wouldn't be so bad if you could just go out and order what you need and get it in a timely manner. Hot news for today is I got an email from Macy's and they are going to deliver my mattresses on the 11th. Well due to my recent excitement and disappointment think I will just take a "wait and see" stance. That way I will be surprised if they show up.

Was super foggy here this morning and didnt clear up until about noon. I went out about 11 as I had to make a run to Petco to get Emma some more food. Stopped at the Dollar store as it wasnt busy and picked up a few things. Came home and promptly ate 3 of my chocolate covered cherries......bad me. I am now waiting for the January sales to pick up some stuff for the house. Looking for a couple of bedside lamps for the guest bedroom and my bedroom. My walls are bare so will need to find some things to put up there. No hurry tho, going to wait until I see what I like. Then after my vinyl windows arrive (again wait wait wait) I can start thinking of window coverings. I swear every levelor blind in this house is broken or bent, tied up with twist ties at the bottom,................enough to drive a girl to drink LOL I try my best to just ignore them,

everyone be safe as you can out there

We had 6 people waiting at the door of the shop this morning! Then the on-line check-ins started to show up on the screen. Within 10 minutes we already had a 94 minute wait!! Just two of us scheduled to work today, so my coworker left a message for our manager for help! Pretty soon, another co-worker showed up. The 3 of us busted our butts doing haircuts most of the day. It finally slowed down by 3pm. Gave us time to get things cleaned up and put away.
Finally got word from the owner that we will be shut down for the next 3 weeks (or so). I was worried that he was gonna try to stay open against the governors orders. I would not have worked under those conditions.

So tomorrow I will sign up again for unemployment. I heard rumors that they were gonna give another $300 per week again but don't know if that is for sure. I have a lot of tip money to deposit into the bank tomorrow too.

I stopped at WM Market on the way home to pick up a few food items to keep me going for awhile so I don't have to go out again for awhile.

I haven't heard if anything here at the park will be closed or put on hold for the 3 weeks, like the golf leagues, etc. Will probably find out tomorrow.

Tina, I will be thinking about you tomorrow. Hoping for a good outcome with your surgery!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I got back from my campout this afternoon. Leave it to me to get sick when I go camping. Yesterday morning my nose started running and I went through a box of kleenex and started on a roll of toilet paper. I took sinus medicine, cold medicine and benadryl and nothing slowed it down. I am feeling better today but my nose is still running some. I took some benadryl when I got home and took a nap. The medicine makes my mouth so dry I'm trying to not take something else.

I missed the Christmas Party last night but not sad about that. They get too crazy with all the games. My sister went and filled me in. It was good to see all my friends again since I have missed several of the last campouts.
The weather was not great, it rained off and on.

Barbie, sorry your business is closing down again. I'm not sure what tier we are on now. I saw on the news that one of the hospitals in Lafayette was full and not taking any more patients.

One of my friends was leaving the campout and going camping the other side of Baton Rouge. She was wanting me to go too but I think someone is coming tomorrow to look at my hurricane damage.
