Rabbit Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbit Tuesday

Postby Shirlv » Tue Dec 01, 2020 6:58 am

Morning All, I did say rabbit sometime during the night. Not grumbling about the early hour today because I’m heading to Bjs warehouse. The early bird gets the toilet tissue. Beth, after dealing with an irresponsible company yesterday was glad to see you raise the bar in your store. Afraid a good work ethic is becoming a thing of the past. Need to get a wiggle on. Be safe

Morning. My first words were my request for some refreshing breakfast chilled water. Days are funny without that breakfast lunch and dinner cycle. I have tried some jello and broth but chilled water works best right now. I called the surgeon’s office yesterday to set up my appointment and I did ask about the discomfort I have been experiencing. The original spot was set for the 8th, but later the afternoon the nurse called back and asked if I wanted to come in today. Yea! 3:30 this afternoon. Hopefully I will will collect some more itty bitty news. I also gave in and took some of the pain meds yesterday and today. Home Care nurse is coming at 11 this morning.

Looking forward to everyone checking in today. Tina

Good Morning Shirl and all who follow. Hard to believe we are Into the last month of 2020. It’s a cloudy and going to be a cold windy day, thanks to the storm you east coast folks are getting. No snow here though. I’ll be in the house doing a little house cleaning and figuring out how to set up a new WIFI router. I miss the days when you could just insert a CD in and follow it’s prompts. I would rather be out working in my woods, trimming and burning up dead branches from the pines. Too windy for a fire plus the wind chill.

Tina, thanks for the update. Hopefully you will find out some more news today. . Beth, sounds like you may be heading back to your casita sooner than you planned. Sorry the job doesn’t seem to be working out. Karen, things are really falling into place for you. Maybe it was all meant to be. I went mattress shopping yesterday, found one and it will be delivered next Monday. My new Solo Stove fire pit will be here on Thursday, my new Stabilicers Traction Devices came yesterday. They fit on my boots for walking in the winter. So a bit like Christmas early here.

O’Sharn, sorry to hear you got scammed. The best way I have found to order something advertised on FB, is to get the website off the ad and go directly to that on my search engine outside of FB. That way you can see and decide if it’s legitimate. I have ordered things that way, never had a problem. Read the comments on FB and they will also tell you a lot. Barbie, hope you don’t wind up with split shifts. Maybe your manager realizes how far you have to drive, so didn’t give you any.

Time to get rolling here, so will wish you all a nice dsy. Keep safe out there.

I already said "Rabbits" and am on my way back to bed. I got up at 5:30 am to make reservations for Florida for November 2021. They open sites 11 months in advance, and it can be competitive, but even though I should have been up at 4:45 am, I was able to still get the spot I wanted for Nov 1, 2021. I am fussy and this was at Grayton Beach SP near Destin on the Panhandle, and yes, it will be hurricane season, but will keep my fingers crossed. Am making reservations for two week periods mostly, so going to do a more leisurely Florida that winter. I already got a spot for two weeks in late October for Ford Clinch SP right on the Atlantic Ocean, just south of Georgia. Fort Clinch has only 20 spots in a circle on its beach campground and hard to get one. Nice beach along the ocean. Been there before, and it is gorgeous and also right on the beach. Yea!!!!

Oh, Tina, I assume surgeon means surgery?? At least eventually? Hope you can start eating regular food soon without the nasal tube. Ice water is nice, but not very nourishing. Take it easy.

Good night, all!! Back to bed......

Good morning Everybody,
I had to go back to yesterday’s posts to catch up with the news. Beth and Barbie, hold your ground about scheduling. There has been a lot of talk about what constitutes an employee/employer relationship and any part time employee never gets the full benefits. It’s cheaper and That’s why they’re hired. Think like an employer, and figure out a schedule that will work for you and propose it to your manager. Supervisors are caught in the middle with an impossible job...Luckily neither of you have childcare issues which some women have.

Tina, thinking about you and hoping your doctors can diagnose your problem and then “fix” it. Big hug.

I cut some holly branches this morning. Unfortunately last spring I had the holly bushes severely pruned back, thinking I wouldn’t be home to see the berries...well guess what, I’m home and there are no red berries for my swags! Stay well everybody and enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning all. Will just be kind of a slow day here as yesterday was pretty well consumed with my worker bees, but my new door and storm door are in and I really like them. No Rabbits for me here today. I think I talked to myself first LOL not sure if I got a good answer or not. The dog second so I really blew it this month.

Need to clean up my laundry room and start putting my empty tubs out in the storage shed as my washer and dryer are coming tomorrow. Have several deliveries this week and my freezer next week. Then will just be waiting on my bedroom set. Oh yes and my vinyl windows still need to be delivered. THEN I will be done with all the deliveries...............well except for Amazon and Walmart LOL Geez Sue I have been waiting for my mattresses for a month.........well in all fairness I could have gotten some sooner but I wanted pretty good ones and out here they were all sold out. Everyone that was burnt out (2800 people) probably needed mattresses too.

Guess will make some breakfast then get busy.......for a while.

Good morning everyone!

Shirl, thank you for starting the morning coffee regularly and hope you continue healing. Tina, I am so sorry you are going through so many health issues and hope you will get some answers today when you see your surgeon. barbie, explain to your boss that you live too far away for a split shift to work for you. beth, sometimes things happen for a reason and I hope you'll be happy with whatever your decision is. martha, have a good campout with your friends, Peggy, I'll bet your holly swags will be beautiful anyway. Karen, I'm so glad things are starting to fall into place for you. Cheryl, it seems like your intro to the itty bitty news has created more daily posts here. Judy, is there a chance you might be in the central Florida area this coming year for a lunch gtg. Sue, good luck getting your router up & running. Sheila, I always look forward to your posts that I read after I've gotten up. Since you're 3 hours behind us, you post while I'm in bed. u I know I've missed others here but not intentionally.

I said rabbits just before we went to bed last night and hope it works. I mentioned family things going on a while back and things are settling down somewhat. my youngest sister lost her hubby of 40 years to lymphoma and one week ago, my oldest sister died. She would have been 71 this month. I've been living in a fog lately and am waiting for the fog to lift. It's chilly in central Florida. we woke up to 40 degrees and our high today will be 54. enjoy your day.

Forgot to say "Rabbits" this morning. But maybe this was better:

For some reason, when I woke up, I had my old APBT girl on my mind (American Pit Bull Terrier), and I spontaneously began to sing her song. She comes to me sometimes like that, out of the blue, when I am least expecting her, and I can see her happy eyes staring close into mine as they used to do.

When she comes, it always puts me in mind of the old tune, "Mr. Bojangles" (about an itinerant vaudeville entertainer who travelled around with his dog):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-LVXR6rjXs

"Bojangles" is one of my all-time favorites. I used to be able to play it on my autoharp pretty well when my kids were small, but I am long out of practice.

I am often put in mind of this stanza:

"His dog up and died, he up and died, after twenty years he still grieves. . ."

When she was still with me, I thought that twenty years was an awfully long time to grieve, especially for a dog. She has been gone from me now for more than thirty years, and I can right this minute still see her loving face so clear before my eyes I could almost reach out and touch her.

Just checking in this first day of a new month. No rabbits here, but we are having a couple days of winter...32° this morning and predicted 28° tomorrow. (So excited I just learned how to get the degree symbol on my iPad/ phone. For those who don’t know, you hold your finger on the zero until the degree symbol shows, then swipe up.) Notgoing to complain about our short spurts of cold weather. It’ll warm back up by the end of the week.

So sorry to hear you are still having pain, Tina. I pray the doctor has a solution for you today. Don’t be afraid to take the pain meds. At times like these they are your friend. It’s why they are prescribed.

My heart goes out to you, Sandi, and you are in my prayers as well.

Beth, I know you will stand your ground. Just be careful or you may end up being the manager, lol.

Wishing all a good month, Covid- free and with improving health for those who are ill.

No new news here.

Back home but feel like a zombie, up early and still having extreme fatigue. Tina, yea, early doctor appointment. Karen, nothing like getting new stuff to make you feel like cleaning. :D Irmi, so much sadness, sorry. I sorta had a tantrum in Bjs self check out. System jammed up, didn’t have half my things, was tired. When the nice young man came to help with his cherry “how you doing “/ I said this is on my last nerve. He followed me out of the store and gently said “it’s going to get better”. I wanted to cry. Anne, funny how the past just pops up now and then, sweet and sad.

It’s going to get better.....

Well I should have remembered Rabbits. Just got a call from Home Depot and now they cant deliver my washer dryer until JAN 6th. Oh well, dang this Covid. I do have a functioning washer dryer so guess I can hang until January. Just wanted to get everything in place NOW LOL Patience is not my best suit and I have been faced with it for 2 months. Oh well maybe my bedroom set will come in the interim.

Oh Irmi you have had a full plate, so sorry for all your family losses. Shirl just remember "baby steps" you will build up your stamina just not in one day....see you suffer from the lack of patience like I do LOL Tina same advice "baby steps" but I do hope you get some answers today. Anne I think most of us know what it is like to have that "heart dog" that we just never will forget. Good luck tomorrow Sandi hope it goes your way and they do not parole him. Have you ever said what the motive for killing your son was?? If you know or did I am sorry I have forgotten. Safe travels Sheila as you make your way back to the Q

Liz, it was clear when I took this job I would not manage. And I'm sticking to that lol. I'm beginning to think maybe it's time to hang up on workamping when I leave here. If I stayed in Benson an entire winter I could probably find a part time job while there next year. I'm looking forward to going back to volunteering when I can afford to do so. If I leave here early I might boondock in the Yuma area, or Quartszite or a combination of the two the rest of the winter. I'm trying not to make too many plans just yet.

Tina, if your gall bladder is the main cause of this, I think you'll get some immediate relief if/when it's removed. I used to curl up in a ball in my bed and rock so hard from the pain I had bruises on my forehead and head from banging it on the wall. Eventually I'd fall asleep doing this. I did have stones, lots of them, but a diseased gall bladder is a diseased gall bladder, stones or not. I'm so glad you get to see the surgeon today and maybe have a clearer path to what you need.

Peggy, I was hired as a full-time employee, entitled to benefits, etc. I like the company and much they do. I don't think this department manager is up to the job. And I think she feels threatened that they hired someone to help her. She's letting some of the ckerks do things she won't let me do. I'm not against them doing it...I strongly believe a manager should delegate. Enough, I think I need to quit talking about this until I leave or stay and if I stay I need to suck it up and make the best of it for however long that lasts. Cleaning those shelves was catharsis for me yesterday. :D

Judy, I'm always happy for you when you're able to get the spots you want at the Florida cgs.

Irmi, I'm so sorry to hear about more family deaths. Hugs.

Karen, oh no! I'm glad you have functioning machines in the meantime.

Shirl, sometimes it's needed to complain. And what a kind young man to have been the recipient. If only we could all respond so well.

I know I've missed someone or two, sorry. Time to get my day going or I won't make it to work on time.

Good morning ladies.
I did remember to say RABBITS just after midnight as I was up then.
Irmi, so sorry to hear about your sister.
Tina sending prayers for you and your medical team.
Beth, I hope things work out to your satisfaction at work.
Not much going on here, managing to stay healthy and enjoying the warmth.
May everyone have a super December.

Was taking my BP and cat trying to climb in my arms when I realized December had snuck in , so I turned to Mandy and said rabbits rabbits. Think she thought it was strange, but she didn't say anything back! Have no clue how this month will be with impending lockdowns. All I can say is thank goodness for deliveries!
Beth and Barbara, hope your managers cooperate so your days go easier. Irmi, so sorry for your losses. 71 is so young! Sandi I am thinking about you as you prepare to speak on your sons behalf again. I have a hard time with them letting those who have caused bodily harm out early!
Sue, wish I had a woods to walk in, as you do. That would soothe my soul.
Judy, hope you get those lights fixed, have you tred a dealer who services your chassis model, Ford or Chevrolet? Hope you get all tne camping spots you want , I think we all hope 2021 will bring camping back.
Tina, I hope the Drs find a way to get you on healing track. I agree with others, take the pain med if it lets you rest better. Good rest will be healing. Any clue what started this whole mess? Each night I hear on tv the Jenuvia diabetic drug ad with bold warning about risk of pancreatitis, a disorder we rarely heard about 50 years ago when I was a young nurse, but now I know several who have battled it!
Stay well everyone. From the reports around the country, it's going to be a rough ride for next few weeks. At least our stores have had all we need at moment.
