Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, still fighting the blahs. Thanks, Peggy for hanging in with me. It’s lonely early in the morning. :D Want to divide and replant a peace Lilly but it would require going to a store for supplies so decided against that activity. I needed to get out of the apartment so took a ride to my brothers. PT said I could walk on flat surfaces, parking lots and sidewalks. Brother and I walked his very long driveway, well I gave out half way. So frustrating. There is always tomorrow. Be safe

Good morning Shirl, yup I am up early too. Gives me some time to just have a couple cups of coffee, watch some news, read the computer. Then after that it is time to get some breakfast and showered then start my day. Should be a quiet day here at my new house.....no deliveries. Next week will be busy with more of my furniture arriving. I have ordered some essentials online. I have no desire to go to the crowded stores amid this virus. I might or might not pay a little bit more for it but just cant face the holiday crowds. I do have to bop over to Lowes or Home Depot. Since both are just down the street I should be able to find what I need. I tell ya it is the little things in life you need. Assorted screws, nails, eyebolts, zip ties, A decent screwdriver or two. I am sure there will be more.

I will walk down to the mailbox today after it warms up. I live on kind of a long street in the culdesac part so basically pretty quiet in my end. It is only 32 out right now AND dark so thinking maybe after lunch. The dog needs a walk. Dont try and walk to far without building up to it Shirl. I know it is frustrating but just go slow.

Karen, So glad you have furniture arriving. I called around about a new recliner and every store said 4-6 months delivery. I guess I will buy a pillow to sit on. :D

Good morning to All. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day and meal. We just took a ride to one of the small towns near here. Didn't even get out of the car so many people around. We are sure self isolating here in the empty except for us RV park. There are 150 sites here. Two more Americans are coming within the next few weeks.
We spent a typical Mexican day on Monday - wrote about it here - http://travelinginrvandlivinginlasvegas ... ember.html
We finally have our Internet so can get on line AND watch tv from our home set. Never thought I'd get tired of Hallmark Christmas movies but that time is quickly approaching.
We are pretty much keeping to ourselves, but have gone in a couple of outdoor restaurants and some grocery stores. Sanitation is very stringent. MUST wear masks, sanitize hands and shoes and have temps taken to enter stores. There are lots of places we can go outside without many people being around. No Canadians this year so not near as many people about. So far the Covid rate here in Mazatlan is remaining low. Better than Vegas. So...we'll see.
I am continuing to write my blog with lots of pictures and if I ever figure out Movie Maker some videos of Mexican life during this very strange year.
It is in the mid 80's here with humidity as high as 78. Last couple of days has had a breeze though.
Glad your new home is starting to come together Karen.
That is about all from here. We are finally starting to have days without drama. My blood pressure is starting to return to normal, as is my mood.

Shirl everything I ordered was pretty much 4 - 12 weeks out. Some stores had some stock that could come right away but not the stuff I wanted. I have living room furniture and family room recliners, dining table, kitchen table, new range and a bed in the guest room, no mattresses yet. Supposedly coming this week. So is my washer, dryer and freezer. Also my 2 tv stands and a dresser for the guest bedroom. Unknown when I will get MY bedroom set. Ordered 10-20 and was told 4-12 weeks. We shall see but at least I have most of the furniture I need. Bought some end tables off of Amazon that I really like and they were reasonable. Also bought a table lamp and a floor lamp for living and family room. So I am getting there. Have been exercising (my Visa Platinum lol). Buying needed kitchen supplies and some tools. So I am getting there slowly but it is happening. Peggy I am always up early, just not a functioning member of society until the coffee kicks in ha ha

Good morning to all. The pups got me up earlier today so we’ve had a good long walk. I decided to take my phone along since it definitely looks like Fall here in California. Here are a few pics.

They said a lot of people were out shopping around here yesterday. Not me. There’s nothing I need so bad to take a chance in the stores. I did manage to drop off homemade English Toffee ice cream to my grandkids.

Stay safe everyone.

I'm totally with you on this one, Karen. I have no desire to go to any store, especially with the virus surging badly in my area, it really has me spooked. The only hospital in my area is already at capacity, with 300+ new infections in my smallish (population-wise) county per day, and hospitalizations always lag a week or so from new infections. I'm not sure where people will go as they begin to get sick. Am I paying a little more for stuff? Probably. But worth it. I have also ordered stuff for delivery from both Lowe's and Home Depot.

Had an absolutely fabulous Thanksgiving "with" my kids - we had a two-hour video chat during dinner and clean-up. In many ways, it felt just like being there in person - except no intense 10-day house-cleaning marathon I usually get into before the holiday. LOL. Didn't do much of anything, the spiders up in the corners of the ceiling didn't mind a bit!! I just made sure the camera wasn't aimed at the rubble - who's to know?

Sandi, loved your photos of the Autumn leaves. Thank you!

For those who don't know, we do get fall colors here in northern California, but it they only last for a day or so. It seems like one day it is 90 degrees outside and all the leaves are green, the next day it is 50, and the leaves are turning colors even as they fall (no pun intended!). There are still some colorful leaves on the trees here in my backyard, but they won't last long, had a hard freeze last night.

Stay safe, everyone. I'm hearing it's going to get worse before it gets better, I'm hearing that things might be doing a downward spiral over the next ten days or so.

Lyn, please check your PM's. 8-)

Good Morning, work on swim pool is finished!!! Pool and spa filled. Beautiful clear light blue water. Haven’t heard when we can use it.
Had a nice leftover dinner yesterday. More leftovers available today.

Good morning!

40 degrees but blue skies for a change! People outside cooking and campfires - brrr!

Shirl, glad you are getting around easier. I decided to prepare coffeemaker night before - did it one night! :)

Karen and Shirl, the wait for furniture is a little disheartening since I can't get to a furniture store. Did dawn on me that I'll have my own transportation again by March probably. I have made choices online, but want to do in person looking.

Lovely pictures, Sandi! Hoping Tina is doing well.

Had a nice Thanksgiving with the kids. We took a drive through the canyon before dinner - along the river and beneath the snow covered mountains. When Monica brought me home, we drove on into town for a quick look at the lights. Now on to Christmas shopping which I haven't done much of in recent years.

Everyone stay safe!

4-12 weeks sounds a lot like "We have no idea when it will be delivered!" Sorry you are waiting so long.

I am on a lake near Bakersfield, and amazed at how busy it is. I am sure they will all be gone tomorrow, however, as they look like locals who have jobs. In Tehachapi, I stopped at the bakery this morning to pick up my order of almost croissants to freeze and a cinnamon roll, then got gas, over to Walmart for a few groceries, and finally to UPS to get something notarized--I am worn out. Nothing going on tomorrow except work catch-up, but on Monday, am going to Camping World to try to get my tail lights and running lights fixed. It is not bulbs, and have replaced fuse, which only worked temporarily. I really need these with such short days.

Has anyone heard from Tina lately?? Hope she is doing OK. I am guessing they will eventually remove her gall bladder when everything gets a little settled down.

Anita, I fill the coffee pot when cleaning up after dinner. I had delicious well water for 50 years. The apartment water supply is chlorinated, yuck. Think some disparates sitting in pot overnight. In any case I feel like, Hazel, the maid fixes my morning coffee. :? I would think furniture stores have floor models of furniture to see. Maybe by the time you are ready the country will be somewhat normal. Karen, sounds like you are almost ready. Do you have a date for installation of new windows or are windows back ordered too.

Shirl, oh yes windows are backordered........but they are being custom made so I guess I can't complain too much. Anything in a mobile home pretty much needs some custom touches ha ha

Am at Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation area near Bakersfield, CA, and it is PACKED with locals. May I add, local idiots. Check out this photo of one group of about 25-30 people with not a mask in sight.

There are two or three groups like this. The good news is that they will be mostly gone tomorrow--at least I hope so.

Judy, I feel very lucky that the customers here are all following the mask guidelines. I only have had one 20 something girl who moved hers under her nose constantly. Funny is that there is a 20 something girl who works in the store whose mask is almost always below her nose. Customers have complained and I passed the complaints to the gm. Supposedly that grounds for being fired, but nothing's been done.

Anita, do you realize you have a line in your post slightly different from a Thanksgiving song, but it caused me to start singing. Then I laughed at myself.

The schedule for next week, which starts Monday isn't up yet. I'm not pleased with many things my manager does. This is one of the things that upsets me. Last week she gave me the new schedule when I was leaving at 7 pm Sunday night. I'm planning on having Monday and Tuesday off again, but who knows.

I think Tina posted yesterday on her post in the general room. That's what I remember, but you probably shouldn't trust my memory.
