Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday

Morning All, as you probably noticed I don’t strain my little brain with a catchy heading. I have started filling the coffee pot the night before so I only have to stumble in the kitchen and push a button. That move has made me so happy especially with this early hours. PT again today and will continue twice a week until Rick says to stop. Guess I will spend the holiday walking around the parking lot. It’s ok, walking in circles is what I normally do. :D :D Be safe

Good morning Shirl. I poured myself a cup of coffee and am ready to chat. Working my list of things to do for Thanksgiving.
Will brine the turkey today. Made the stock last night and the cranberry sauce this morning... keep doing your physical therapy and walking. Some days I walk 30 mins inside my house. Luckily I can go in a circle from room to room and up the stairs.
Pat, I wanted to tell you how sad it was to read about your fellow teachers dying of CoVid 19 at 72. Please stay home everybody and wear your mask. Enjoy today. Peggy

It's my first day of a 5 day work week. Yuck lol. Ty says double yuck lol. I'm working Thanksgiving. I'm told we'll be very busy. My days off were the slowest days of the week here. I'm okay with that. I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm doing this for a reason... Funny I've never hated working. I still don't. It keeps me from being too much of a loner. But I do believe this will be my last full-time job. (I know, be careful what you say/wish for).

I have no idea what I'll be eating for Thanksgiving. I'm guessing they'll do turkey. I'm okay if they don't. It's not one of my favorite things. But I love the traditional fixings.

Off to walk Ty.

Good morning everyone. I saw chiropractor yesterday and can stand a little straighter, hoping for more improvement over next few days. Not sure what I did to set it off, other than change pressure in my Sleep Number mattress, which helped my neck but seems to have set my back off! Today I'll prepare the green jello my Mom always made as its a favorite of my son for Thanksgiving. Probably get green beans steamed for casserole tomorrow. Tomorrow just have to add rest of ingredients for that plus peel and steam potatoes both sweet and regular. Sure doesn't seem less work when making only 2 people's worth of Thanksgiving sides than for a whole family, but I do it because I still can and enjoy traditions.
Hope we hear Tina is on the mend and that the rest of us stay healthy.
At this time of year, i remember that today is the 41st anniversary of the day we moved into our first home we actually owned (having lived in Navy housing before). Our stuff was all in boxes and the moving crew placed them in the rooms i said, as i sat on a box, not lifting anything because i was weeks into my 4th pregnancy, having miscarried 3 times before. Happily, that son is now 40 1/2 years old, so the sitting that day was worth it. Our thanksgiving dinner that year was a can of turkey vegetable soup by Campbells, we located in a box and heated on our new stove and sandwiches we made. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I forgot to get the the ingredients for what my family called the "green stuff". I seem to be the only one that likes it now. Instead of cleaning house I have been cooking. I made the Crown Royal Peach Cobbler. It's not very pretty but tastes good. I can't taste the alcohol. Probably because it cooks for 10 minutes after it's added. The 7-up pound cake is in the oven. I should have used the largest mixing bowl instead of the medium one. Now I have cake mix all over. I usually make my own cranberry sauce and I have not seen any cranberries in the grocery stores. I still have some frozen so will make it until the stores have cranberries. My son likes the canned sauce so I will open a can for him and send it home with him.

We had an 80% chance of rain. It got windy and dark. A line of rain blew through and now the sun is out. I think our rain is done for today. The temperature is 81. I won't be unhappy if we don't have a freeze this year but this warm weather is not normal.

The local TV channel was freezing up again so tried the over the air antenna and it's working. The batteries in the remote were almost dead so think that is why I thought there was something wrong with the antenna.

Hello!

Not getting very far today. Transferring my in-store Walmart prescriptions to mail order was a royal pain!

Martha, I watched a Christmas movie set in Lafayette the other night. While the stories are often similar, I like seeing all the light displays and Christmas decorations.

Pat, so sorry for the loss of friends. This area is being hit hard with this round like so many places across the country.

Thinking of Tina and hoping she is recovering.

I'll be having dinner with Monica and Alan tomorrow. She asked for Christmas requests last night. I started with a couple ideas she said weren't very exciting. :) Then got my head into what I'll need for a kitchen - the list grew so she has choices! :) With the virus cases rising, the military has put on some restrictions so my grandson won't be coming over here anytime soon. :(

I don't know if I have mentioned this before - I have an Ancestry.com subscription if anyone has anything they'd like researched. There is so much more available now that a few years ago.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

It is a sunny but cold day here in Tehachapi, and they are towing gliders up again today. None yesterday or Monday, but haziness may have been a cause then. They were towing over the weekend, but facing the other direction so hard to watch. They have two cute little planes that they use to tow the gliders into the air, and then sometimes they tow them really high so they get a longer glide, I guess. Today, there is one every few minutes and they are going past my end of the runway. You can tell when one is coming because you can hear the tow planes.

Today's activities include dumping my tanks, filling up with water and putting my little remote thermometer in the tank area, doing dishes, and grading papers, of course. Not very exciting.

mentioned a lot of what I've been doing in the campfire...
got to Vegas in good time yesterday... friends came by and parked their utility trailer in front of my 5th wheel... makes me feel better
stopped for diesel glad I did it where I did cheapest I've seen since pulled in and was getting ready to get out when a friend of mine tapped on the window so opened it (it's it fun that we can do that open the window opposite us from where we are sitting?) visited a bit her son popped in to surprise them...she told me just a moment so I got out to start the diesel going and had to go back to get my zip forget that it asks that (first time I have been there this winter) and there on my non seat was a couple of bills... so I go yelling at my friend and she is telling the drive just drive... I told her I didn't need it but she seemed to think it was what she wanted to do so I thanked her and she went on her way... so sweet of her :D
I took a short nap after my sister and I visited for a bit then we ate and watched NCIS and Bull by then was tired and still had scriptures to read... Shadow fell asleep and didn't even get his treat and joint whatever...
going to take the computer in and show my sister the book cover it is the genre she likes she what her impute is...
you all have a great Thanksgiving day

Three years ago today, I closed on my house in Vista and spent Thanksgiving there with a turkey dinner from Boston Market, planning where I was gonna put stuff in the house. Now I am spending my second Thanksgiving in my new house. I am thankful to be here.

Work was slow until about 1pm and then a bunch of people came in at once, all requesting ME!! I had 6 requests and I hadn't gone to lunch yet. I finally got thru those six haircuts and then took off for lunch at 3pm. Before I got back, there were two more of my customers waiting for me! I was popular today! We stayed busy until closing. So my lower back and feet and shoulder are sore tonight. I wanted to cook the turkey tonight but I am just too tired. Will do it in the morning,

The weather has been great and will stay in the mid 70's for the next week or so. Altho, the Santa Ana winds are coming in late tomorrow so the fire threat is extreme in southern CA with those moving in.

I gave Lola some canned food tonight as a treat and she got so excited! She kept running over to me meowing and then back to the dish to eat more! So funny!

Have a great Thanksgiving, what ever you are doing!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
