Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, still up early and thinking great thoughts  Read somewhere, don’t remember who and don’t know if true. Supposed official said “things will be better by May”. I am keeping that thought to get me through this winter. Caring thoughts for our members who are hurting, alone and building new lives. Beth hope your tootsies are feeling better. Be safe

Good morning Shirl, so glad you get the coffee going each morning. We are getting the rain today.
I made a list of things I need to do to get ready for Thanksgiving. Vacuum is on the list; I just hate that. Luckily my son cleans the bathrooms!
Beth, having attended worker compensation hearings during my work life, I would suggest that your boss rotate staff during the shift. It’s not healthy to do repetitive actions for 8 hours, including standing. I do like the meals benefit. No cooking or washing dishes....
Enjoy today

Peggy I noticed you posted yesterday about dehydrating grapes. Did you know that grapes freeze beautifully. Just take off the stem, rinse and toss in freezer bags. They will last a year in a deep freezer. I freese about 20 lbs of grapes and 20 of blueberries. I don't rinse the blueberries until I use them. I've forgotten why but I think they get tough if you rinse them first. Grapes are good in cereal or oatmeal along with pecans. I freeze 25 pounds of pecans and leave a small container on the counter to snack on through the day.
I think your rotating staff recommendation is really good.

It is sunny today after a few days of gloom so my spirits have lifted a bit. Also feeling better physically. I have had a rough 2 !/2 months struggling with the doctorschanging my Blood Pressure medication!! It is hard to communicate with my doctor. Messages are relayed through a receptionist, to a nurse who consults a nurse practitioner, not the doctor. Then the reply comes back the same way. I feel like I am playing that game 'pass it on"!!

BJ, thanks for the info about freezing grapes. No, I have never frozen grapes or cooked with them. I’ve just put them in the compost when they start to wilt. Usually we eat them right up, but after a few weeks you don’t want anymore. I’ll have to try something new!

The seedless red grapes and the seedless concord also make great pies. I don't measure the sugar but if you use a recipe I suggest cutting the sugar in half. The way I fix it is to just cut the grapes (unpeeled) in half if large, put them in the unbaked pie crust, sprinkle with about 1/2 cup or less (taste your grapes for sweetness) add a little lemon juice if I have it and a teaspoon of vanilla, dot top generously with butter, add a lattice or full top (don't forget slits) and bake at 350 until crust is done. I don't thicken with flour or cornstarch starch. The piecrust recipe is from a 1966 Williamson County Homemakers Extension and has been really non fail.

Morning is long past, here in Northern Michigan. Was up early and off to chiropractor appt., then stop at Credit Union and grocery store. Readi g about who’s a Morning person and who’s not, I have to say I’m a morning person. My dad always said Morning was the best part of the day. I’m up and going, get done what I want or have to do, the later in afternoon, the dogs and I go for a nice walk. Last couple of days, I’ve been working in my wooded lot next door, trimming up desd branches on my red pines. Looks better. Case of can’t see the forest for the trees as they say. Course now can’t t see the forest floor for the dead branches all over  but I like being outdoors and it keeps me busy. Plus cold enough, so no sweating and no bugs :) . We’ll see if I haul some of the branches out and make a bonfire after we have a little snow on the ground. Weenie roast anybody!

Otherwise been busy with this and that over the past week. Took a ride to Mackinaw City one day to enjoy the beautiful weather we were having, snowblower was just returned today from a warranty repair, so all set for snow. Restaurants are closed in inside dining for three weeks as are a few other venues like casinos, bars, etc. Covid cases still climbing. Been a stressful year for all of us.

Beth, glad to hear your new job seems to be working out. Peggy, nice to see you chiming in more often. Lyn and Pat too. Sorry to hear about tour friends Pat. I have friends in the U.P who’s niece and her daughter both have it, a friend here who’s nephew and family in Wyoming fave ut and a. Eighbor who just lost a grandson to it. Glad everybody on here has managed to a old it thus far.

No bg Thanksgiving plans here, just going some friends. There will only be us three. Hope all of you have a nice Thanksgiving, no matter what you do and please, stay safe.

Afternoon here and it’s a cold, wet and gloomy day. Plus add in some wind. Just makes an all around yucky day! No much sleep last night so slow start today. Sure wish I could get into a better sleep routine! Interesting about freezing grapes, never thought to do that! Next time I get grapes I’ll have to try that. Beats having to throw part of them away! Last bunch I got I gave half or more to my son to either take home or to work. I get frustrated that I can never find just a small package of them. Always seems like they package them in the giant family size!
Beth, glad you got to do some of what you were hired for! Standing for 8 hours in one place is a tough one! How’s the pup adjusting to the new routine? Don’t know if I missed it or not but how’s your site for the RV?
Sure doesn’t feel like the holiday season yet! Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is this week! Think it’ll just be another day for me. Not sure what the dentist is going to do with the broken molar on Wednesday! May loose the whole thing so eating will be limited! This is the second time I’ve had dental problems during the Thanksgiving (and hunting season) time frame. At least this time I’m getting in before the actual holiday! I’m rambling here so will quit and go get some work done around here. Have a good day and hope anyone under the weather start feeling better. Take extra care of yourselves and stay safe.

Another bright sunny day here with no rain in sight for next ten days at least. I'm still trying to be patient with right eye healing! Today my back is hurting for no good reason so taking it easy.
As to buying grapes. Grapes here are always pre-bagged and sold by pound with bags being full. I realized at some point that they are ziplock bags! I asked produce guy if it was ok to transfer some to another bag making the one I want lighter and fewer! He said sure no problem (because they are sold by pound)! Problem of to many grapes solved! I no longer eat them because they are high sugar but my parrot loves them but can eat only so many!
Doing laundry between ice on my back and waiting for Cpap company to call, which likely they won't! Plan quick trip to Costco and grocer tomorrow morning to get our pumpkin pie then we won't go anywhere for probably a week!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Good afternoon gals!

Yesterday morning a lady rang my doorbell. I had bought two outdoor rugs last year at a yard sale here but never used them. I cleaned them up last week, rolled them back up and had them in my carport. Well this gal and her hubby drove by on their cart and saw them. She wanted to know if I was willing to sell them to her. Heck yeah!! Sold them both for $20. Another thing out of my space.

Then I did 3 haircuts in the park. So I made $75. Not bad for my day off.

Went to Home Depot to get some plants. They really didn't have much to choose from. Got one tomato plant, one hanging strawberry plant, and a couple small flowering plants to put on my stairs to my deck. I still want to get a couple Hibiscus plants but they didn't have the colors I wanted.
I repotted the bougainvilla into a larger pot too. I need to get some netting to cover the strawberry plant with to keep the birds away. Now I just have to remember to water them all!

I have heard that frozen grapes are a good snack in the summer.

Stay safe, and get well for those who are not feeling well.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Got a brand-new windshield this morning--it will never be cleaner than it is right now. It had one chip and a small crack five years ago from separate stones flying up, but both were on the passenger side and not bothering my view. Eventually the crack grew to the point where I had to replace it.

Second reason for replacing it was to get them to remove the rearview mirror. My backup camera is almost unusable--light grey over dark grey, etc. and fuzzy, plus it is built into my radio and has a small screen. So my plan is to get a new camera and attach it to the windshield up high where the mirror was. This way, it will not have to sit on the dash and block my view. I already have a big GPS, so not much room for another thing. So, I have to do some shopping.

It is still cold here in Tehachapi, CA, so having a window open in a motorhome, even if it is just a crack means I am going to have to keep furnaces running! Got two small electric heaters and a full tank of propane, so should be oK until I head down the pass to Bakersfield.

And as far as the grapes go, I take some out to make a smaller packet, but I sometimes wish I had someone traveling on my route so we could share things like loaves of bread that go stale and jars of pickles that sit around for weeks and months.

I have been a busy bee today. Went to check out another furniture store with my neighbor Jerry today. WOW they sure thought they had nice stuff. So we went across the street to where I bought most of my furniture and ended up buying 2 tv stands and a dresser for the guest room. I looked online at tv stands as they were cheaper but the reviews were mixed on most of them. AND I would have had to assemble them. So bit the bullet and bought 2 there. Didn't want to pay quite that much but my choices are very limited here in Roseburg. And since I dont have a truck that is problem #2. Of course I have to wait for them to arrive.....story of my life. Oh well at least I have chairs and couch and a dining room table LOL We made a couple of other stops at a few stores then decided we were hungry, so I treated him to Carls Jr burgerland. Brought it back to my house (I have a table LOL) then I took him home (one street over) and we unloaded his stuff and of course Emma got her treat from Jerry. He buys dog cookies just for her. Nope she isnt spoiled. When I got home my exercise pens had arrived so I set them up in the yard and now Emma can have more room to roam around than just the deck.

So for the last several years I went to my neighbor Jerrys house that lived next door for Turkey dinner on Wednesdays because he liked leftovers so he could watch sports on Thanksgiving LOL I was going to go up to Laura's but plans put on hold for another time. I told him I was staying home so he invited me over to his place again......so turkey day for us is Wednesday ha ha He said we will eat off a card table with chairs....hey works for me.

Hope Tina is continuing on the mend. Being sick is no bueno. Thinking about her today. Stay safe everyone, positive numbers are climbing here in Oregon but our hospitals are maintaining so that is good. Hopefully we can help turn this around. I am doing my part and I know I am just one person but if more stayed home, washed their hands, and wore their masks I think we can do it.

I decided to go to town today because I figured it is just going to get worse til Thanksgiving. Picked up cat food for the outside cats. Went without a list and feel like I forgot something. I saw a recipe for a peach cobbler that called for peach flavored crown royal. Picked up a bottle and it has a peach flavor but too strong for me. I'm not sure what to cut it with. I'll have to try the cobbler.

Judy, I found some turkey thighs. Now you need to tell me how you cook them.

One of the places I worked the office manger would give us the most beautiful Poinsettias every year. The ones at Walmart leave a lot to be desired.

The local channels keep freezing up. I don't know what is going on with Direct Tv. After the last storm my over the air antenna doesn't work. I don't know who you can get to work on things like that. It's on the roof and I don't plan on getting on the roof.

Beth, I would like a job that fed me. lol The deli here has two entrees everyday. Sometimes if I like what they have I will get 2 dinners so I don't have to cook for 2 days.

Martha, I just sprinkle the turkey thighs with some poultry seasoning and put them in a baking dish that they fit into. I bake them covered for a while and then uncovered. Not too hot of an oven because they do not have a skin completely covering them like a whole turkey has. Slow heat means they won't dry out or be tough.

I have two frozen, but today found a couple more and will have those for thanksgiving. They also make good sandwiches.

Judy, why would your RV come with a rear view mirror? That seems pointless.

I worked today with the guy I got in a fight with a few weeks ago. He was showing me some video of the large birthday party he gave for his girlfriend this weekend, Over 20 people with no masks or social distancing. I stayed clear of him after that in case he is infected. (He invited me to his family's Thanksgiving dinner but I politely declined).

I called about getting an appointment with my doctor about my shoulder and when I gave them my new insurance info, she told me the doctor that is listed for me is not my doctor. I know there is a name of some doctor on my card but have never heard of him, but I didn't think I was required to only see him I looked him up on line and he has really bad reviews. I only see female doctors anyways. So I had to call the insurance company (again  ). Got them to change the doctor and will send me a new card. Meanwhile I have to wait for a couple days until the change is made in their system before I can make an appointment with my regular doctor. Always something with this insurance mess!!

I had a customer a week ago who took a liking to me. He is older than me, I would say around 70 and not my type. He asked me out and I told him I am not interested in dating anyone right now. He gave me his phone number anyways. Well, today he came in and gave me a rock that he painted like a lady bug. On the back he painted his name and number and "call me", on it. I have gotten flowers from customers but never rocks! I will have to figure out a way to thank him and still say no.

I found out that Lily, the white Maine Coon I rescued about a year ago and gave to a neighbor, took off a week or so ago and hasn't returned. This lady is a little odd. She had told me she wanted an "indoor only" cat, and yet she lets Lily out all the time. So now I have food and water out in case she comes around here again. I hope she does. Maybe I can convince Lola to let her stay here  .

Now I need to figure out the golf spread sheet tonight since we play again tomorrow morning. Need to do laundry tomorrow too. And water my plants! It is breezy tonight so they will dry out from that.

Good night :D
