One Happy Palmersville Frog!

Postby mitch5252 » Sun Jun 07, 2009 1:23 pm

A while back, I posted a link to a site called familyhack.com. Their little trick that caught my attention was using a vacuum to suck something up that you had dropped down a sink.

Well, let me tell you - IT WORKS! Except in this case, it was a big frog that fell down a plumbing type hole over by the well house and spare septic field that someone (read George) left the cover off of.

I tried putting a stick down there for him to climb up yesterday evening, but this morning, he was still stuck down there. So, a trouser sock went over the suction tube of our shop vac, and up the little bugger came, hopping off as soon as he hit the ground.

A happy ending for a Sunday afternoon!

Cool beans, Mitch! Amazing what can be done with a little knowledge.....or is it a little knowledge is dangerous??
Glad the little froggy is safe and sound....they eat mosquitos and flies so I like 'em!

What a great idea for a frog rescue! Clever you are!

I, too, love frogs, as they are such good bug eaters. Plus I love to listen to their spring mating serenades as I drift off to sleep at the leanto by my pond.

My question (spurred by the picture) is whether this was a joke post. ????

Nope, no joke. That little froggy was lucky that I hate to see any animal suffer AND that vac suck method was fresh in my mind. Not sure what would have happened if I hadn't remembered that trick...hubby and BBQ tongs come to mind.
