Let's start our day with a good morning here.

This Wednesday

I'm waiting to get propane. I'm early because of my eye appt. So I'm first in line. That way I can move my rv back to my spot and get my car to head to town on time. I just got a weather alert for high winds much of today. I'm glad I'm off the road for the day. It was beautiful yesterday driving through the Lake Mead area and past Hoover Dam.

Still Good Morning here in San Carlos, MX. Today there is not a whisper of a breeze and at 10:30 it is already 83 out. Bill is loving it. Me - thank goodness for AC. Went into the bigger town near here this morning to get data for our Mexican MiFi - got a deal on it We usually get 4 GB - for US$25 - today got 16 GBs for same money. But right now I can't get the mifi to power up. letting it charge for a while, if doesn't work, maybe battery has given up ghost, so will have to go back to town to repair place.
We probably will leave here tomorrow morning for further south. Not sure where yet. Maybe the beach art Huatabampito [love the name of that town] or to a truck stop.
Most people here wearing masks walking down streets, have to have on mask to enter phone company, guard had sanitizer for everyone's hands before allowed into buidling. Dots on floor 6 feet apart, being enforced and Plexiglass partitions between clerks and customers and on outside of booths between customers.
Been taking a lot of pictures, this is a pretty area and Big town is an old town with lots of interesting buildings and stores.
So far everything is working great on the RV - well except the water pump is growling and shaking. Will look into it in Mazatlan.
I was surprised the casita was already built. Amazing what they can do now days with machinery.
Beth, maybe in the Spring we will manage to get there to see you. Haven't been to Death Valley since the kids were young!

Wonderful rain here and overnight! My weather station shows 1.54 inches for the month now! Yay. And snow (our water storage bank) was to be 12-24 inches at lake Tahoe level and twice that at mountain peaks!
No Curves, due to closure, so I'll work out on treadmill and bike.
Sure looking forward to Friday when this contact lens bandage comes out and further healing begins
Picked up a Master Cut boneless ham yesterday for Thanksguving. Chris and I will fix a small feast for two.
Sun just disappeared again, so maybe more rain shortly. Always good after a dry summer.
Beth, glad you are not driving in wind.
Enjoy your day everyone !

Rainy greetings! I don't think days and days of rain is normal here! Kids brought my Amazon packages so need a weather break to hook up heated water hose. No freezing temps predicted for at least 10 days but that can change.

Irmi, loved the photos! You will so enjoy that casita. I never thought about it having to be lifted like that. Reminded me of when we had a swimming pool installed by crane.

Beth, I got caught in bad wind in California about this time last year. Everything was fine then I turned a corner and had the worst side wind ever. Be careful please.

Everyone have a good day!

No winds predicted here or at destination for tomorrow, so I lucked out there (if they are correct). Good news from the eye doctor... 3rd time in a row my eyes have improved a bit. So I'm online shopping on Zenni for a couple new pairs, one just distance, the other progressive. And my eyes are in good shape. That's always good to hear.

I filled up my car with gas. After not being filled for almost 2 months, it only took about 4 1/2 gallons. It'll be getting more use in DV, I predict. But then it depends on how often I come to Pahrump, too. I don't think to often because of I like the food in paying for there, I'll save a ton of money. I mainly stocked up on some snacks lol

Tomorrow I'll fill the rv on the way out of town. It's only 90 miles and the rv will only be run monthly and to exercise the generator (and to move the tires every couple/months... They can flatten sitting still). It'll be strange to be stationary for so long.

My only other must do today is hooking the car up so I can just unplug to leave when I'm ready tomorrow.

And that's my boring itty bitty news.

I stopped for a couple of items at a grocery store and found my favorite turkey thighs. You can buy turkey breasts and legs frozen all year, but only from just before Thanksgiving to just after Christmas do butchers sell all parts of the cut-up turkeys. I really like the thighs, so try to get them when I can. I baked two thighs and froze two last night. Got a package of stuffing and also some cranberry sauce, so had a very nice dinner last night.

I need to eat some of the food in the freezer so I can get some more thighs to store! I will no doubt be tired of them by Christmas, but that's OK.

Am camped fairly close to Camp Pendleton and can hear them shooting stuff in the distance. This morning it was boom-boom spaced apart, so I am guessing something really big. Now it is more pop-pop-pop, like someone knocking on the door of an RV, so I am guessing something smaller and automatic. I thought of Joe today, Anne, and how this would NOT be a very good place for you to camp with him. He would go nuts, even if the noise is in the distance.

North FL has been downright cold the past two mornings. I mean in the low to maybe mid 40’s! If I were still full timing I would think I needed to get my body ‘souther’ than what I currently am! Still hate cold weather.

I have been playing with the butterflies this summer and fall. I currently have about 18 Monarch chrysalis in my hatchery. I released 6 today, 3 boys and 3 girls. It was windy and chilly for new butterflies, but they took off for the milkweed and porterweed. My lantana is about on its last bloom and the bottlebrush is in its first year so not real hefty bloomer. Zinnias are still standing up but the Pentas are just about kaput. The fire spike is still doing well. I have started trying to start some new plants from them. The cassia is beautiful around the village and I think mine are in too much shade. When I move to the sunny location, I think they will jump up and down, shout and bloom like crazy next year! Sulphur butterflies will be happy, as will I.

I did put some very small caterpillars in the hatchery and a couple small ones on a milkweed outside so they could get growing. Hope the lizards aren’t hungry! I did put several small and tiny Queens on larger plants as the silly parents laid their eggs on my just barely up seedlings. They will eat them down to the soil line! I saw a long tailed skipper stop on the pea vine in a pot and I wondered if it was going to lay an egg. Will need to check it tomorrow!

My BIL and SIL helped me get an irrigation system set up for my flowers, when they delivered my golf cart! Okay that is more information than you wanted to know, but it’s okay cuz I probably won’t post for another 6 months or so. Everyone stay safe. Those not feeling well prayers, for your healing, travelers look twice the crazies are still out there. Everyone have fun!

Birdie, Birdie, Birdie... Not too much information but too little. "When I move to the sunny location"... You move? Have I missed something?

I was wondering the same if Birdie was moving to a different house... but perhaps it's the plants that are moving to a sunnier location... I hope we don't have to wait 6 months to know for sure
my friends came out brought water except he filled up his tank which is bigger than mine and I had missed looked at the thing telling how much water I have so really didn't need much so after it was filled he filled my barrel :o in the back of the truck now the problem is this we need to hook up the fifth wheel Friday no way am I going through that much water... he said use lots of water... I might take a shower in my own shower instead of going to town this week  we didn't change the oil yet need a socket and he gave me last year and I put away the problem is where???
got a couple of my signs up was lazy so didn't do the other 3

Beth, I think Birdie meant when she moves the plants to a sunny location. I don't think she is moving! :?

Last two days have been fairly busy! A little more than itty bitty news...

Yesterday I went early to putters golf to help the other two ladies get things set up. It was pretty much the blind leading the blind but luckily we only had 4 other ladies show up to play so that made things a little less complicated. I collected the money, wrote down who paid, and after we played the course, I added up and wrote down the scores. Now I need to start a new spreadsheet for this years league. I hope I remember what the lady who was starting to train me last year, showed me! She is in Canada and won't be coming down. One of the gals I helped, thanked me profusely for helping. Then after I got home, she texted me to thank me again and begged me to continue helping her. I told her I would. One lady who showed up to play is 92 and another one is 97! Not that putting is particularly hard or stressful, but still...

Later, I went to WM, the library, and then stopped to give a blood sample to get my hormone levels checked. I think they are way out of whack and I am seeing a doctor who specializes in bioidentical (natural) hormone replacement. Will see how that turns out. I bought a bottle of Apple Pie Bailey's at WM and it is pretty good!

I bought a stuffed toy otter awhile back and posted it on a FB otter group I am on. Several gals wanted to know where they could get one. I went back to the store to get 2 more. I contacted one of the gals and shipped one of the otters to her for the cost of the otter plus shipping. I forgot who the other gal was so have just hung on to the other otter. Then she contacted me the otter day (sorry! ) to see if I still had an extra one. Turns out she lives just southeast of LA. I decided to just deliver the otter to her today and then go down to the gourd farm in north San Diego County. The town she lives in is Norco. The neighborhoods are full of hobby farms and have bridal paths all along each street! I saw horses, pigs, emus, etc! What a fun place to live!
A
Anyways, I got lost going to the gourd farm since I haven't installed my new GPS yet, so I was going by memory (big mistake!). I finally found it and picked up a couple small gourds and a few other things. Just 10 minutes after leaving there, I was driving down the windy road thru the old oak trees and came to a road that crosses the road I was on. All of a sudden, I saw a large pickup truck come barreling down the hill on the cross road with no intension of stopping. (He had a stop sign but I didn't). I locked up my brakes and skidded into the intersection. He just swerved around me and waved at me and kept going!!! :o Seriously??? I just sat there in the middle of the intersection in shock! We missed each other by barely a foot! I am so glad I saw him when I did and hit my brakes, or I would have been T-boned by a speeding truck! A really close call! I had a feeling when I left home this morning that something might happen and I needed to be very careful drivig. I am glad I listened to my intuition!!

I did stop to have lunch at my favorite restaurant in Temecula called Epic Wings. Sat outside to eat. It was really good altho very spicy chicken buffalo sauce. :o We don't have those down in our valley so I stop there when I can find one out of town.

I did get some good news this morning! I got my electric usage monthly report from the office here. It shows how much electricity I used each month so far this year up thru October. Well, the months of September and October, after getting my mini-split system installed, were 2/3rds less than the previous summer months!! That is great news! That will save me a lot of money per month next year and in the long run.

Judy, when I lived in Vista, I could hear the booming off in the distance and at first I didn't know if it was thunder or an earthquake! Some nights it went on for hours and hours!

Glad to hear there is rain in northern California. I did read about a wildfire near Tahoe today tho. Hope the rain/snow will help put that out.

Carol, be save on your travels south!

Beth, let us know how the job goes! Hope you love it there!

I am tired tonight. Back to work tomorrow...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
