And It's Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And It's Sunday

Postby Bethers » Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:43 am

I slept good last night. I've been waiting for it to warm up ... It's 52 right now. Will climb to upper 70's today. First up, I'll look at my solar panels and see if anything looks off to me. I'm not sure I'll be able to tell unless it's something very obvious. Check out time is noon, so I'll wait until then to move to my electric site. And that's my itty bitty news this morning.

Good morning Beth and Everybody else from chilly CT
Yesterday I put the fig tree to bed for a long winter’s nap. I wrapped it in Reflextic from my van and then covered it with a tarp. It grew a lot this year and I hope it survives another New England winter. Martha, I didn’t have enough figs to preserve, but I did dry some in the dehydrator!
That’s my itty bitty news. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning Beth, Peggy, and all who follow! I woke around 08 to bright sun streaming through window. Rain gone until at least Tuesday. Sure glad I don't live in Minnesota, where my son lives and works! He sent a photo from his squad car of tne snow falling and reduced visibility he was working in last night! Snow is pretty unless you have to drive in it nightly!
My eye got very blurry, as expected yesterday and remains so, making reading the job of my so ewhat out of focus left eye, not fun. Look forward to right eye healing so I can see well again! As its said, this too shall pass, but meanwhile it's annoying.
So, since I could not see well to read at length, I pulled my sock drawer out of the dresser, off it's track and completely emptied it, cleaned inside of bits and cleaned the drawer front with Murphy oil cleaner, then rubbed in beeswax wood restorer, and polished. As it set before final polish, I cleaned tne space where the drawer goes. Each drawer in this dresser has wood below and above it and I found a pile of socks that had fallen behind, as well as a coating of dust below the drawer bottom. Who knew dust could get under a drawer that's closed most of the time! Found several socks I had actually been looking for, thinking they had clung to a tshirt I had put away or something else, but in fact were hiding out behind the drawer. My back was screaming after I did that and folded and vacuum bagged my Halloween tshirts (all12 of them), leggings , and sock collection, plus vacuumed my room and bathroom. So I took my CBD and hydrated and rested for a while. I decided one drawer a day would get it done in a week, and I'm good with that.
Going to tune in to church in a few min, so I bid you a blessed day.

Good morning ladies.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I am very glad to be back in Arizona again. This is such a quiet, friendly park. They offer many activities and everyone is always welcomed. We had our Welcome Back Dinner on Friday. Needless to say it is a much smaller crowd than last year. Everyone wears a mask and practices social distancing. They even took everyone's temperature before entering the main room. Tables were set up both indoors and out. I may try my hand at Bingo this week. There is a Thanksgiving Dinner planned for the 26th.

I am working on decorating my site this year. I have 3 small flowerpots containing solar flower lights. Since I travel across the border on a regular basis I cannot have real plants and these are perfect. I will be setting up a small yard for Joey this week. I am waiting for another set of fencing. I am splurging on a small portable grill. If I can find the one I want, I will be able to use it here and set it up at my house in the Summer.

That is all the news from this neck of the woods.
Keep healthy and safe.

Still laying in bed. Slept good and long.

When I got in bed last night, I could hear the "scratching" noises in there too. I sure hope I don't have some tiny critters in my walls! I will get someone out hopefully this week to check. I don't hear it this morning tho.

My neighbor has a little Shitzu named Pearl. She sits outside and usually will only bark if someone walks by. But this morning she has been barking non-stop all morning and no one is out there!! I don't mind the occasional barking but this is very annoying!

Gonna watch church service soon and then get up and start on my to-do list. Mostly just little putzy stuff.

Have a good day!

Good afternoon all. It is a windy and wet dreary day here. I managed to get some leaves picked up yesterday from the front part of my driveway and I now have 8 bags sitting on the porch ready to take to the dump. Ran out of time to do it yesterday so there they sit. I’m just hoping the wind doesn’t circle around and empty them! I won’t even mention the amount of leaves out back! They are throwing the s word around for tonight and some the next couple of days! Luckily it isn’t supposed to amount to much. Guess I need to get ready for it! I decided to make soup today with a ham bone I’ve had in the freezer. I wasn’t sure what to make with it so finally just started adding this on that. I had some dry potato soup mix from the Amish market so some of that get thrown in and then a bunch of veggies and spices along with ham soup base. It actually doesn’t taste bad and smells good! No idea if I could do it again! Probably not the same way! It’ll taste good on a day like today. Good comfort food. Wish I could remember how my mom made dumplings and I would maybe attempt adding that! I could Google it but still wouldn’t be the same. Irmi, exciting that the “pour” was done. Bet it’ll be done before you know it! Karen, you are really making progress on your new home too. Beth, did you figure out your solar problem? Carol and Bill, thanks for taking us along with your winter in Mexico. I always enjoy reading about your travels. So that’s about all my itty-bitty news. Stay safe out there everyone. Numbers going up here too. It’ll be interesting when the students leave the university to see if that helps the numbers go down. Have a good evening.

Barbie, maybe the neighbor's dog can smell what is scratching under your house.

When I went out to feed the cats the wind was really blowing. A cool front was coming through. The temperature dropped from 82 to 72 but It's warmed back up to 79. It will probably be cold tonight. The temperature drops fast when the sun goes down. Yesterday when I went out to feed I thought I was seeing double. Hollywood, one of the outside cats is kind of a Siamese looking cat. She was sleeping on the golf cart and there was another cat that could pass as her double. The poor thing looks like she has had a hard life and is so skinny. She is still here so looks like I have another cat. She is very friendly but I can tell she has been on her own for a long time.

Peggy, I found where to get canned figs and fig preserves. We were camped near Ponchatoula, LA. It's a real touristy little town with a lot of gift shops. Several of the shops had figs. I bought something but it hasn't made it out of the camper yet. Hope your fig tree makes the winter. It will soon be time to put my Ficus tree in the old house. I wish I could remember to get one of the furniture dollys at Harbor Freight. That tree is getting hard to move.

I didn't feel like cooking so had chicken nuggets for lunch. My son had recommended the brand I bought but I didn't find them that good.

Good morning all,

I get the next couple of weeks off! I love my time with the kids but I also enjoy the freedom of no responsibilites for the day. My DIL is taking the last of her 'bonding' time off so I look forward to doing as little as possible, enjoying my coffee in the mornings & not having to go anywhere.

The weather has been beautiful here - cool at night & 70's during the day. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid-80s & then drop back down to more reasonable temps on Tuesday. I thank God every morning as I step outside to walk Sadie & feel the fresh air without needing a winter coat.

Planning a simple Thanksgiving dinner with the kids. We will have ours early afternoon & then my son, DIL & kids will go to her family's in the evening. I'm glad I'll be able to do my grocery shopping early in the morning since I won't have the kids. I noticed Costco has re-instituted senior hours on Mondays so I'll take advantage of going there early. Need to see if other stores are doing the same.

Well, that's about it for my itty bitty news.
Take care, everyone.

If you use your imagination, you can see the red blurb of the rocket headed to the space station:

Wow Irmi, that’s pretty exciting to be able to see the rocket going to the space station from your house. I loved my visit to the Kennedy Space Center and seeing the space shuttle.

That's great Irmi. Oh how I wish I could be there for a launch. I did watch it on TV. My dad was a life-long NASA employee at Ames Research Center in California and worked on many projects including the design of the space shuttle. I’ve watched launches on TV since I was a young kid and my dad took us outside to watch Sputnik fly through the night sky. I guess you’re a veteran at viewing launches, but I still think you’re really lucky to see them.
