Morni g gals. Well, we have a Friday the 13th this month. Last one for this year. Actually, this whole year seems like it’s been a Friday the 13th, depending on one’s point of view

Just a bit of itty bitty news from the north country as haven’t been into a whole lot. Carpets are cleaned, dogs and I left for a few hours. Went shopping at a store about 60 miles from here that has really nice meat, they butcher their own and had some sales. Bought about 30 lbs. roughly of various things plus some shrimp Home. Seems like a long way to go for meat I know, but it was more for the ride. On the way home we stopped at a Stdte Park and had a nice walk. Meat all packaged and in freezer for winter. Cleaned up leaves from HOA properties again, not last sweep for this year. Truck washed and gassed up, ready for whatever. Housecleaning in agenda for this morning.

Glad those of you in the path of ETA, didn’t have any damage or flooding. Karen, you are really makiNG progress. Steady as she goes. Seems like everybody else keeping busy with day to day stuff. Elda, great news on the eyes. Take care everyone and please stay safe out there.

Sue, for a good product I don't think that's too far to go. Especially when you can get so much for winter. And on sale. Good deal.

My rig is being washed and waxed right now. It's not who I wanted doing it, as he had pneumonia and is way behind. So I had to call around and hopefully it'll be an okay job. I'm sure the rig will collect dirt on the road, but it needs the protection. Ty and I are comfortable in the casita. I have a load in the washer and another to do after then the washer will be wiped out, cleaned and covered until my return. I'm looking forward to a last long shower this afternoon after which I'll turn the water off and make sure the hot water tank is drained. It's an on demand and only takes a minute of running water till no more water is in the lines. After that, or in the morning, I'll shut power off to the casita until next time. It's bittersweet knowing how long it might be this time. This place has been getting more and more comfortable. I never got my pictures hung, so that'll be a project when I get back.

Not much news to write about from Minnesota since we returned from Yuma last March. We did not get the Shasta out for any camping trips this summer. Not having a self contained unit we are leery of using the public facilities. With the pandemic raging in Minnesota we stay very close to home. Living in the country gives us lots of room to be outside and not socialize. Seems like there is always something to do to keep us busy. Hopefully we will get to Yuma in February . I have been sewing masks for our church and learning to quilt. The squares are the vintage red pick up and farm buildings and carts and wagons. Our house is 130 years old and a few of the old farm buildings are still standing and are the same age. Most of the homes on our street are modern so our little farmstead stands out, especially the barn. The gravel road was widen and paved last summer and the barn is only about 6 feet from the street now. John loves old pick ups so the red pick up art work and farm scenes fit our decorating scheme. weather wise October was terrible we had snow and cold. Then it warmed up for a short time and last Tuesday another storm hit. I decided if winter was going to stay I would put up the Christmas lights so got them up over the weekend. Hope everyone stays safe and Covid 19 free.

Sue, Like beth, we travel a ways to visit our closest butcher shop and it is so worth it. beth, safe travels to Death Valley. I can't wait to hear about your stay there. rita, we don't do much here in central FL, either. Our outings consist of going to the grocery store and church.

we learned this morning that the same day the resort is having an open house for the model casita, which is immediately on our passenger side, our casita will be placed on the new concrete pad for everyone to see. I am so excited. Things are falling into place, slowly but surely. we have ordered a patio set and indoor furniture, so in another 6 - 8 weeks, they can be delivered once the casita is done on the inside.

Sue, your cold weather reached CT today. Rain and much colder; definitely an indoor day. Not even itty bitty news to report today.
Rita, I like getting out the Christmas lights. I have a strand of little white twinkling lights that I put around the window over the kitchen sink years ago and never took them down. It’s such a gloomy day that I turned them on. It gives me a little lift every time I go into the kitchen. Enjoy today. Peggy

It finally began light sprinkles about 30 min ago but probably won't last long. It's a start.
My eye is irritated as expected for day 2 post op. But I see well enough to drive! Went to Curves at noon.
Nothing exciting planned for weekend, just rest eyes much of time and keep up with drops schedule .

It's been raining off and on most of the morning here. I was up about 7:00, and the first drops began about then.

Hope we have a good rain year here. It's kind of off to a slow - and late - start, but am keeping fingers crossed.

Good afternoon ladies!

I actually got up early today , and got started outside around 9am. Lots more sweeping, vacuuming, and hosing off stuff. Just so much dirt! Cleaned up the back patio and swing. Finished everything by noon! Yay! Just need to get some plants. May pick some up tomorrow evening and get them potted on Sunday.

Am taking a break now for a shower, lunch, and watching some of the Master's Golf Tournament which was postponed from last April. Might make chili later. Got some hamburger thawing in the fridge.
Then straighten out the inside of the house a bit. The porch is the only area left that needs a lot of sorting, cleaning and organizing. That will wait until next week sometime.

Judy is coming over tomorrow to see my place and get the grand tour of the park. My first visitor!

Sunday I will watch the final round of the golf tournament and relax. Need to give my shoulders and lower back a rest after being abused the past several days. A friend here gave me some "special" brownies the other day to relax my muscles and help the pain a bit, especially at night. Seems to be working.

Just found out that we are starting our putter's golf league on Tuesday. Luckily, I have that day off next week. Asked my manager to try to give me Tuesdays off from now on thru the winter. Am looking forward to getting back on the course. I was gonna try to do the regular golf league this year but I just don't think I can do that yet, with my shoulder issues.

The virus is going crazy out here, like every where else, so we may get shut down again soon. CA just passed 1 million cases in the state.

So that is my itty bitty news! Good hearing from you Rita! Hope you have been able to visit with your granddaughter a lot this past summer.

Rita, your quilt sounds pretty. You will have to post a picture when you finish. My grandmother and mother were both quilters. I only tried once and I couldn't get the corners to come together. I think a quilt for me would be a life time project.

I miss the ground meat we got when we would have our own meat processed. I told them I didn't care what they did with the fat but don't put it in the ground meat. Harold ate a lot of beef but now I seldom cook any. The reason I went to Sam's the other day was to get some ribeyes. They have the best meat for the price. The local grocery store wanted $15 for one ribeye and it wasn't that big. I cut a ribeye in half and only cook a half at a time. I have been cooking them in my little air fryer and they come out almost as good as the grill and it's a lot easier to clean.

The virus is worse in Louisiana but not as bad as some states. The state attorney general wants to sue the governor over some of the things he orders to control the virus. I hope people remember that the next election. Walmart still requires a mask but I didn't see a sign at the grocery store and there were people in there without a mask. I got to go to Walmart early today. I forgot Sugar's pills yesterday. I had a feeling I was forgetting something but didn't remember what until I gave her the last pill last night.

Peggy, your lights sound like a good way to cheer up. I have my little Christmas tree on my desk and sometimes I turn it on for a while. My Christmas door mat that plays music came today. I might put it in the hall so it will play when I go down the hall. I noticed on Amazon how long it would take to order some things so thought I better start ordering things I want before Christmas.

I went fishing this afternoon and the fish were really bitting. I fed the cats before I went to get away from them but Mini Moo found me. There are crabs in the pond again from the last 2 tidal surges. I should get a crab net and go crabbing. I doubt there are many in there.

Good to hear from you Rita, your farm sounds very pretty, not many barns left which is sad. I'm not a quilter either but my Granny was so I have a few. The material is so much softer, hard to find good cotton now.
'Martha I miss good meat too, the little grocery/butcher shop close to our house closed and the meat at the big stores just isn't the same. I buy from local processors but it is always tough. Sticky notes are my answer to remembering what I have to do. I check the calendar everyday for appointments and then write a reminder on a note and stick it above my coffee pot. Also find I need a list for trips to store now that we don't go everyday.
The virus is getting worse here also. Our county isn't so bad as a lot of people are wearing masks but next county over is really terrible and not many wear masks. I don't like to go anywhere!!
My little Mitzi had to have her teeth cleaned today and they pulled 10!!! She seems ok but I was really shocked, they said most were small and she would be able to eat fine but I feel like a horrible mom for not noticing sooner. She is so tired and thirsty, I had to pick up the water for awhile I was afraid she would throw it up. I didn't go in with her, I called when i got there and they came out and got her, same when I picked her up. I was surprised she went with them without too much resistance. She did know that she was going someplace that wasn't going to be fun, when I tried to put her harness on this morning she went limp as a rag. Like to have never got it on her!

Had a busy morning and it was really stormy and windy. I had to drive up to Eugene (about 75 miles) over some low mountains but the rain was horrible and all the truck spray. I just drove slow as there was alot of standing water. Almost everyone was driving slow with windshield wipers on max. About 2/3rds of the way the rain receded and I even saw a smidgen of blue sky. Same situation on the way home. Then I took all my cardboard over to the dumpster at the furniture store (they said I could) and got rid of all the trash (trash day today). I am so not used to putting a garbage can out. We just drove over to the big dumpster when we had trash or cardboard. Good think I had Alexa to remind me. We also recycled and they dont do any of that here. I miss that. I did find the bottle drop building. I just save my bottles and cans and take them back when I have a bag full. Hey 10cents is 10 cents.

I will be heading back to the Hotel Suites in Medford on Sunday or Monday and will pick up a few more tubs from storage and I have the Eye doc appts this coming week. Sure is nice sitting in a recliner watching tv with real channels LOL Now will just be happy when I get a bed that isnt on the floor.

Rita your place sounds lovely. I love the old farms and your theme is excellent. Martha glad you got to go fishing and had caught some. Do you eat them or just catch and release? BJ when I took my last dog to get her teeth cleaned they also pulled quite a few teeth and she did very well. Hoping Mitzi does fine too.

Covid cases are rising here too big time. Our governor is putting us back on lockdown for restaurants to do take out only and back to no visitors to our retirement and nursing homes. Costco is making it mandatory to wear a mask......no exceptions even for medical. They can order online and have curbside pickup. I am just basically staying in right now. Amazon has become my friend for sure. Beth sounds like you are ready to rock and roll. I would love to be there during the winter but definitely not the summer. Will be interested how that works out for you and the dog. Wishing you the best of luck in your new endeavor.

My fishing is mostly catch and release. No telling how many times I have caught the same fish. If I catch a mud catfish or some of the other trash fish I throw them out. I keep saying I'm going to order one of the portable sink/tables to clean fish on. If I ever get around to doing that I might keep some to eat.

I don't get the people who have a medical OK not to wear masks, and yet they are out shopping. If you have asthma or other breathing issues that you aren't able to wear a mask, shouldn't you be staying home since you are at super high risk, if you get Covid? And your chances of getting Covid without having a mask on is much higher. Seems like a really stupid thing to do if you are high risk. Kind of like, "I can't swim so I am going to jump in the lake without a life jacket on and see how that goes".

I'm looking forward to seeing Barbie's place tomorrow. I like the idea of a park model--a full mobile home just seems too big for me. I'm not quite ready to quit full-timing, but I do want to start thinking about it. I also want to check out the Escapees place in northern California.

I am glad to hear that Northern California had some rain today. Don't know about Napa, but everywhere in the west needs rain. Even northern Nevada and Utah got rain today. The animals really need it. At least it has been a lot cooler in the last couple of weeks. I keep thinking about the poor female elk who practically pushed me away from my hose as I was filling my water tanks. Her nose was an inch from my hands holding onto the hose. After I was done, I went around the other side and filled up the indentation in the sewer area so she could get a drink. I rinsed the cement off, and she must have drunk at least a couple of gallons as I backed up and kept refilling it. I wished I had had a big dog so I would have had an excuse to leave out a large water bowl!

I went out to Joshua Tree NP today. I ended up taking a lot of photos from the RV. Why?? Incredible numbers of people out there for a Friday in November and the parking lots and even pullovers were full, so I could only stop in a couple of places!! And as I left through the northern entrance, I noticed that even at 3:00 pm, there was a long line of people waiting to get in. Amazing.

Much happier at this campground than the one near Oakman, AZ. It advertises itself as the cheapest campground in Laughlin, NV, and I can believe it. I even had a "pull-thru" but could not pull through it. The problem was that spots were very narrow and each site had a patio that had sharp edges and was raised about 3", plus there was a big SUV parked next to my site. I was afraid to hit it as I parked because I did not want to blow a tire on the sharp edges of the cement. (My tires cost about $240 each.) So, I ended up pulling in as far as I could, but ended up at an angle so as to miss running into the electric and water hookups and the sewer hookup, while not hitting the patio or the car next door!. I suppose if I had had an extra hour and two people to help me, I could have made it, but I decided it just was not worth it. The next day, I had to back out, which always bothers me, but at least there was no car behind me. This place in Indio is almost same price, but sites are large and long, plus I asked for a site next to the laundromat. (Another campground last month had the laundry up two hills, which was hard at altitude with my heavy bags of laundry. Won't stay there again, either. Last trip, some kind man helped me carry stuff up hill. They weren't big hills, but I am getting older and it was at about 7,000', so harder because of that.)

So, lesson learned is to not only ask how far the laundry is but whether it is uphill!!! Getting tired of learning all these lessons.

Next time I am in Laughlin, I will stay at Big Bend of the Colorado State park. Much nicer and cheaper.
